CLAUDIA of GEORGETOWN, SC January 12, 2010 I purchased the Maytag Centenniel washer/dryer set May '09. After 2 service calls for the same part (the automatic water level device) to be replaced Home Depot, to its credit, replaced the washer in July '09. Once again the same part failed twice and Home Depot, to their credit, is picking up the machines and giving me a refund. I have had no problems with the dryer. Both the washer/dryer are very noisy compared to my old Maytag set..which I greatly miss. Now I am starting over and intend to do some research. Should have noticed you don't see the old Maytag commercial anymore...The Maytag repair man with no calls to make sitting in his office. That was true with my old set. Sandra of peabody, MA December 12, 2009 I purchased a front loader LG washing machine from Home Depot in 2007. I got their extended warranty, and the first time that I tried to use the warranty was nine weeks ago. I am still waiting for my machine to be fixed. They sent a tech out who told me that it was the circuit board, and it would take 1-2 weeks to get it because it had to come from China! So, the weeks passed, and I still didn't have my machine, so the next step was to call the corporate Home Depot headquarters in Georgia. They said it was the extended warranty company that would have to order a replacement. I called the warranty company, and they said that I would have to be without the part for 3 months before they could order a replacement! The Home Depot that I bought the washer from, finally gave me a loaner on November 17. Today, water flooded my whole laundry room, and if we weren't home, It would have just kept flooding because it has a water load sensor, and the machine would think that it had to keep filling. My husband finally tipped the washer up, and had to crawl inside and found that the clamp to one of the hoses inside was not on, and the hose had just fallen off. I called LG, and they said it was out of warranty for them, and they couldn't do anything about it. I said that if they were going to sell their product in the U.S., then they should have parts available in the U.S. Never did get an answer. I heard from my neighbor that Best Buy just sends out a replacement, because they can't get the parts. At least they send a replacement. I said that if they were going to sell their product in the U.S., then they should have parts available in the U.S. Never did get an answer. Never buy an LG appliance. They work great until they break down, and then you are on your own. I have called the appliance repair company over and over, and get the runaround. The secretary says that she will have the owner? call me back in an hour. Nothing happens. I call a few days later, and she says that "he's on the road, and will call when he gets in." Never happened. Called again, and she says that he is in a meeting and will call me back. No call. Call again, and she said that they had a tracking number, so it was on it's way. That was 5 weeks ago. I am thinking of going to small claims court, but don't know who to sue first. The appliance repair company keeps telling me it's on it's way. The last message that I got from them 3 weeks ago saying that it won't be any more than a day. Fact of the matter is, I believe that there are no parts of this kind available, and it's just one big stall. It is a Home Depot extended warranty, but it's Assurant who is the carrier, not Home Depot itself. So, I am at their mercy, and I don't know how this is going to end. I have 2 ruptured discs in my back, and have been in pain since going back and forth to the laundromat. For what I have paid to wash my clothes for a family of five, I could have bought a new washer. dan of burbank, WA December 10, 2009 I ordered a washer and dryer set. They said the soonest it could be delivered was during the first week of December. Which I agreed to. They said they would call when it arrived and schedule a delivery. After the week was over and having not heard from them I called. They said that it came in a few days ago, but they could not deliver now, due to today being a saturday. They brought them out on Tuesday. When they brought the dryer in, the delivery men told me that they could not install it with the old dryer cord, home depot requires a new cord at installation or it voids the warrenty. I told them to go ahead and install it with a new cord. They did not have one. Had I known up front that I would need a new cord, I would of purchased one and had it available when the unit was delivered. Next they brought in the washer. They said that they were supposed to tell me that they could not test it. Home depot said to tell me that the units had been stored outside for several days and the zero degree weather had frozen the water that was shipped in the unit from the factory testing. They said the 2 of the 3 they had installed that day were all frozen up. Had they explained all that to me upfront I would not have had the suspect unit delivered. I knew if I sent it back, it would be re-delivered as a new unfrozen unit after it thawed. Mia of Carmichael, CA December 3, 2009 I bought a Bryant, 13SEER HVAC unit from Home Depot July 2008. It was incorrectly installed and blew cold air on my roof for 2 days. There were numerous problems, including the thermostat. Then when it became cold outside, the heater did not work. We had to wait about a week while a sensor was ordered. Then someone came out and had to insulate the unit. There was also damage done to my new roof. When it became hot again, my a/c didn't seem to be cooling. I was told that the unit was only manufactured to cool the temperature 20% from the outside air temp. My comfort zone is around 72 degrees. I live in California and it is often over 100. That means I can expect 80+ degrees most of the summer. My new roof had some eave shingles broken. Someone came out and glued them. I am not satisfied with the unit at all. The salesman assured us that "our comfort" was so important. My complaints have not been resolved. I feel that I should have been told that the unit only cools 20%. I never would have bought it. I don't even think it was a new unit because it never worked right. Grace of saugus, CA December 3, 2009 We intended to order: Maytag 4.0 Cu. Ft. IEC Capacity Washer (MVWC6ESWW) Store SKU # 133251 only 299.00 w/ Free Delivery (original price 549.00) Instead, they were giving us: Maytag Centennial® 3.2 Cu. Ft. Super Capacity WasherModel # MVWC300VW  Store SKU # 615795    Store SO SKU # 615795 for the same price (Original price449.00) November 27, 2009 around 5 or 6pm, black friday, we purchased a washer that we saw on the ad, Maytag MVWC6ESWW 4.0 large capacity Washer. We paid 299.00 for the washer and extra for installation etc. and the receipt we were not aware that they printed with another sku number which is another Maytag Centennial® 3.2 Cu. Ft. Super Capacity Washer. Model # MVWC300VW . We got a phone call from the sales rep and told us that the Maytag MVWC6ESWW is no longer available so the newer model will be given to us and little did we know that the newer model is smaller and cheaper in price. We complained the following day and the manager said that we were told that they no longer have that washer coz maytag oversold and we will get it delivered by late january. they said that it was our fault that we didnt look our receipt and didnt call back asap as we got the call. We came in the store afterwards but the person was off. Monday (Nov 30), nothing happened but a waste of time and aggravation. we went back to follow up, we spoke with asst mg (Ray) and said that we were aware of the whole situation. We said that we don't know how to look a skews and our washer capacity is not even to that standard coz of our huge family. He told me that “You were told that this is what youre getting.†How come you didn’t call us back right away? and You were aware that this is the washer that is getting delivered because of the SKU number on it. We are not experts on sku numbers. We had the ad on our hand, we had the washer in from of me, i put out my money and paid for it. What have i done wrong? Bottom line is, it does not benefit me at all. i told him that we still had a saturday and a sunday to get that deal if it wasn’t available anymore ONLY HAD WE KNOWN. He also mentioned “While supplies last†BUT they were still selling it on Satruday and Sunday. Woodland hills HOme depot ran out of those washers on Sunday coz we were there too. It was already monday and all the deal was off. WE BOUGHT THE PRODUCT ON THE FIRST DAY IT WENT ON SALE! He gave us 2 options. That is to buy the item full price OR buy the item with the difference whatever the difference is,he will share 50% of the cost. I refused and choose to think about it. He also said that i can cancel and they will just give me the money and sorry for the inconvenience. He also emphasized that we are so fortunate that Maytag considered replacing that washer with another lower model coz they have not done that in 8 years. Wednesday (Dec 3), we just had it and we drove to the store again and waste our gas. We went to cancel the order and spoke with ray again. I CANNOT REFUND MY MONEY!!! Because they said that they have to cancel the order and call Maytag.2 hours later from lingering in the store, we left. an hour later, we called and spoke with ray. He said that the associate is still trying to cancel the order and and delivery. I was asking for a ballpark time and he told me that he is not a psychic. But as soon as he gets off the phone, he will call in an hour. 40 minutes later, Ray called and said that they left a message for Maytag (represented by GE delivery people). He said that we will get a phone call tonight that they will deliver. I said that i will not accept any of that responsibility anymore since he’s on that case. Also he said that he found a nice person to cancel an order so he can accommodate us. Meaning that they cancelled their order so they can have something available to give us right now. Now, does that sound really reliable? He also wanted us to go back there for some transaction and i just told them that we have no more money for gas and waste mileage for something crappy like this. Camille of brooklyn, NY December 2, 2009 The machine. Broke. The first time it was used then I called. An got a lil run round then I called home depot. An they gave me a number. To call an I Guy came out an serviced it it broke again as soon as he left then a Maytag Guy came out an fixed it but few months later it guess what it broke again so again Maytag Guy... so it worked after that but had a horrible moldy mildewy smelll. .......so its still broken now an was back then. .I noticed after I brought. It that it had a class action lawsuit I was like say word I'm screwed because home depot wanted to sell me that horrible washer I call it the washer from hell well anyway it the Maytag Neptune it was purchased in 2004-05 resgistered in05 model number MLB55FFLW not to sureif I put it right. larry of grimsby, ON December 1, 2009 LG dishwasher model LDS5811st Bought dishwasher may 27, 2008 as a floor model sale item. pump failed March 2009 and was repaired under warranty, pump failed November 2009, out of warranty BUT WAS INFORMED THE dishwasher was a 2005 model. Home Depot failed to inform me when unit was purchased that it was three years old. If i knew that i would not have bought it. I complained to Home Depot and basically was told it was my problem and they were not going to do anything. I wanted them to take this useless machine back and i would pay a little extra to get a current machine. I got no assistance from them whatsoever. my only recourse is small claims court for missrepresentation Patrick of Mission Viejo, CA November 29, 2009 Home Depot advertised a black Friday special for a Maytag 24.6 cubic foot refrigerator model #MFF2558VEB for 898.00, with the price being good from 11/26/09 to 11/29/09. I went on line and purchased the refrigerator. About 20 minutes later I got an email confirmation with delivery date, followed almost immediately by another email stating that the purchase had been cancelled because my credit card had been declined. I found that particularly odd because there was at least 6 times the sales amount of credit available on the card and all the payments were current. The email also stated that someone would contact me the following day to review the purchase, which I assumed would include other options for paying. I wasn't too concerned because the ad said the price was good for another two days, so I figured it would all be worked out and I could still get the refrigerator at the same advertised price. Not only did no one from Home Depot contact me, when I went on line the same day, the price had "magically" increased another 100.00. It took a few minutes for this to sink in, then I realized why my card had been declined. I got even, however- I went to their main competitor Lowes, bought basically the same model in a Whirlpool for 898.00, and got it delivered the next day. I would never consider buying another appliance at Home Depot because ofthis experience. Robert of Grand Rapids, MI November 24, 2009 On 7-16-09, I bought a Maytag washer, model MVWC6ESWW, for 549.00. On Nov 25,2009 the same washer is on sale for 299.00, a difference of 250.00. After a conversation at the store and a long call to customer service, they gave me a 50 dollar gift card and I have no other recourse for the 200.00. This doesn' seem fair with washer this new. Cennie of Cambria Heights, NY November 9, 2009 I purchased a digital Profile stove two years ago and now the stove has a delayed ignition. National Grid was called because gas was forming in my house because the oven would not come on and the eyes at top go low and high and eventually goes very low if more than one eye is on at the same time.
