GE Ice Dispensers Serve Up More Than Ice

Lots of things can, and do, go wrong with GE washing machines, including:

Or, as Ann of Philadelpia puts it:
As an employee for an appliance parts wholesaler, I can tell you that the GE washer (also sold as Hotpoint and RCA) is the worst design in the history of major appliances.

Others we've heard from recently would probably agree ...

WE got the washer and dryer less than 2 years ago and are not at all happy after spending almost 2000, It smells in the washer, will not spin and now I am going to the laundry mat to wash! Our laundry smells like dirty water and here we paid this much for this.

well after that much money out I was sick . when my old washer lasted 15yrs for three times less money,I do know I will tell anyone do NOT buy this type of washer and dryer!

I bought a Ge front loader washer and dryer. we spent alot of money on these thinking they were going to save us in our water bill and last a long time (our cheap reg set lasted 12 yrs with mabey 1 service call each) anyway after the first month the washer produced a strong stench and it made the clothes smell awful a musty moldy strong smell. I called GE I was told not to use fabric softner and to run bleach and hot water through the unit w no clothes a few times a month and leave the door open when not in use and that should do the trick

So after the first month it stopped spinning had it repaired a few weeks later there was water all over my basement in the washers petistole filled up completely, the rubber seal split in the frond this was replaced and serviced (EVERY TIME YOU NEED SERVICE IT TAKES THEM AT LEAST A WEEK which leaves you stuck w no washer and laundry mat trips I have three kids this got costly) So they fixed the seal the washer ran from this point on jumping around noises the smell got worse then the rubber seal broke agian water everywhere.

at this point I reported to the BBB and after months I did get a new washer replaced to me was the same exact unit and I bought a 5 yr contract for servicing it and its a good thing because right away the smell is back the washer front seal is leaking theres water all over my floor as I type this. I am so sick of this. WE NEED HELP. I want my money back so I CAN JUST BUY A REG CHEAP SET these are junk and are a big dissapointment!

AS FAR AS MY DRYER it too is not heating up. I have not had it looked at yet but its just over a year old and i just know its going to be trouble.

the mold smell cant be good for my family , my water bill is higher w these , the laundry mat is sucking away my money , my basement has been flooded over 10 times my rugs are ruined the water is under my floor , my childs toys were damaged by water .

We purchased Ge adora in april of 2006 paid almost 2000 for the set of washer and dryer within 2 month the gasket tore apparently because of tiny baby nail clippers unbelievable. Our clothes have a musty smell towels even worse wont even wash it right. well we cleaned the filter found one baby sock. Called ge they said we would have to purchare a repair contract for 1yr at 309 or 2yr at 370.80.

1 load takes a whole day and wont drain the water correctly now it wont drain the water luckily I have the storage on the bottom and when I opened the washer all the water collected their, it is wrong that the company doesnt recall this product it is horrible. I have told friends and family not purchase this product. I dont know what to do.

Know we are stuck we cant afford to purchase a repair contract plus the clothing it has ruined. We are frustrated myself, my husband and 3 children we are planning to junk this washer we bought at Home depot and purchase something that will last.

I've got about six pages of what happened regarding my GE Front Loading Washer, but it doesn't do any good to post all that info if we can't get anything done. Let's start putting together names and info for a class action law suite..
