Lyn of Northport, AL September 15, 2009 I purchased a Frigidaire Gallery stainless steel refrigerator, smooth top cook top, convection oven, dishwasher, and microwave in 2002. After one year, my right front element went out on the cooktop, about a year later the handle on my dishwasher broke, and also gets stuck on the rinse cycle. Therefore, it could run all night long. My stainless steel convection oven digital panel screwed up about two years ago. You have to touch the panel in the right place or the timer wants to come on. Ironically, last week I noticed that it will not cook above 270 degrees. Oh yeah, last summer had to replace the fuse in the microwave. Geez Louise, do they make appliances now to only last 5 to 10 years. My apliances are 7 years old in December. I believe I should get some sort of settlement with Frigidaire. I tell you one thing, I have built three houses all containing GE appliances and regret that I didnt buy again. It will be a cold day in hell if I buy Frigidaire again. Paula of palm harbor, FL September 10, 2009 The heating element in the stove blew up! We had turned on the stove to heat it up and about 5-10 minutes later, we heard a big boom, and saw the whole oven light up like a fire! Smoke filled the kitchen, and the element had blown a hole in it. could have burned my daughter badly if she had been opening the oven door to put the cookies in when it blew. Walter of Pembroke, MA September 7, 2009 We have the Pro Model Electric Stove also, and have had continual problems with spontaneous burner turn-on with the surface of this unit. We received a recall notice this week, so evidently they are going to do something about this... Sharon of Sacramento, CA September 3, 2009 I am writing this based on the Frigidaire recalls. I have a glass top stove only (on counter, no oven). It is Number FEC30S6ABF. This was not among the recalled numbers, however I am having the same problem: knob turns to off position sometimes and heat element continues to heat up. Stove costs almost 400. do I have any recourse? Charles of St-Placide, QC August 29, 2009 I have the same problem as the recall on Frigidaire stoves. I have the model with the ceramic surface. The tempeture of the burners go down too fast, if the water is boiling, as soon as I turn down a bit it stops boiling. Is there something you can do for us. Thank you. Roilynne of Big Pine, CA August 18, 2009 My continuous cleaning propane stove is 4 years old and out of warranty. We had been out of town for a week. When I got home, I set the oven to 400, placed food in to be baked, and went into the other room (knowing that it would take 45 minutes to an hour for the food to be done. Within 30 minutes or so I began smelling something burning and went to check. The heat around the oven told me something was wrong so I turned it off and removed the food which was black. My husband put a thermometer in the oven and set it on 400 again. It pinned the thermometer at 500 within minutes. We called our gas company and a serviceman came the next day, but couldn't get any info from Frigidaire becasue they are not authorized dealers. We live in an isolated area and the only authorized dealer doesn't have a tech who can work on the oven. I called Frigidaire and the first customer service rep hung up on me. I called again and got the run around so asked to speak to a supervisor who could at least speak and understand English. He finally told me that he would try to get the service center to contact my gas company and authorize service, but I have to wait for them to call back, within 24 hours, he said. I told him that I refuse to pay someone to drive 200 to 300 miles to fix my oven when there is a very reliable service available 15 miles away. If I had seen this site before I bought my stove, I would have chosen a different brand for sure! The results are pending. Tim of Richmond, VA August 9, 2009 The 30 in electric range (FEF366ASE) was purchased March 03. The plastic oven handle broke off completely in my wife's hand (Mar 09) while she was baking. Mary of Maple Grove, MN July 29, 2009 We have a Frididaire Professional Series elec. range. Model PleFMA99ECF purchased in April 2005 or 2006. A couple of years ago we had incident of left rear burner not turning off when knob turned to off. I had a repair done, don't remember the details. A couple of weeks ago, same thing happened, same burner. I had to pull oven out and unplug both times to get burner to turn off. This time I noticed it just before I was heading to bed. Very dangerous. Need to follow up with Frigidaire. Laurie of La Mirada, CA July 27, 2009 I bought a Frigidaire double oven in March of 2007 and the hinges melted and the door eventually fell off by September of 2008. Sears where I had bought the oven replaced it with the same model and by May 2009 the same problem happend. Now Sears says they will not replace the 2nd oven. It seems like this should be a recall because obviously this a defect with this oven. I saw that other people have had the same problem. Sharon of Voorheesville, NY July 27, 2009 I bought a frigidaire electric range model ES340 in 5/07 and have had multiple instances in which the top burners have stopped vacillating and stayed on, causing the stove to get enormously hot. The only way I can turn it off is by hitting the fuse box off. Company came 5/08 and "repaired" it but it is happening again in 7/09. Report Your Experience
