Who to Contact at Electrolux/Frigidaire

Frigidaire, now owned by Electrolux, is one of the oldest brand names in home appliances but that doesn't necessarily mean it's one of the most reliable, as the complaints in this section attest.

Some unlucky souls have trouble with multiple Frigidaire appliances, like those below:

Good afternoon, In a nutshell. On Friday 12/19/08 I received a call from my rental agent on Hilton Head Island,SC. He had received a call from the pest control company that when they went in my villa to spray the unit they found that my Frigidaire microwave had recently caught fire. The house smelled of smoke and the microwave was burnt along with having a hole in the front panel the size of a soft ball. The pieces had melted onto the stove top underneath. The cabinets and ceiling in the area also had smoke damage. The unit was vacant at the time of the fire. At the time of the meltdown, the microwave which had been bought at Low's was not quite a year old and very seldom used as this is rental property. I'm thankful that the villa did not burn down

We have replaced the microwave at our own expense. Also, cleaning, painting, carpet cleaning, washing all linens, etc has incured a cost to us over 1,000.. We have insurance but alas, the deductible is 1,000. Go figure. Do we have any recourse with Frigidaire? I have pictures of the damage that I gladly share with you. My rental agent kept the microwave for me to send back to Frigidaire. Thank you,

Hi, I contacted Frigidaire in reference to the 2- 21 cubic ft upright freezers that stopped running. The first one quit working approximately 17 months after we purchased it, the second one lasted 3 months. We are avid fish and dive enthusiasts and our freezer stays for the most part full of Lobster and different varieties of fish ie. Grouper, dolphin, and snapper.

Both times we have lost in excess of 5000.00 in seafood. The first time Frigidaire said there is nothing they could do and basically said we were on our own. Then it happens again after buying a brand new Frigidaire. I was livid and now they are telling me the same thing. Best buy was very helpful and gave us another unit but god only knows how long this one will last. I feel there should be some kind of reimbursement for 10k worth of seafood. Thanks for your time.

We have had a Frigidaire dishwasher for nearly a year. From day 1 it has not properly cleaned dishes. We have used our warranty to try and get the machine fixed. Frigidaire has sent 3 different technicians out. All three have been unable to correctly diagnose the problem and repair the dishwasher. We have taken our claim to Frigidaire (now that the warranty is about to run out) and they refuse to replace the dishwasher at the technician's behest.

All we want is a dishwasher that cleans our dishes. Sand-like food particles on every clean dish is not clean by anyone's standard. We don't feel we are being overly picky, we just want a dishwasher that does what it's supposed to but we feel that we are being cheated. We have followed all of the suggestions of the technicians, exactly, with no success.

ALL dishes come out of the dishwasher VERY dirty. We have to wash them after we wash them in the dishwasher, which we have given up using because it's a waste of time. Frigidaire is treating us like we're idiots and will not even listen to the recommendation of the technicians they have sent us.

Three years ago I purchased all new Frigidaire appliances. Washer, dryer, stove, refrig and dishwasher. Since then I have had a repair person out about 6 times. 3 times for the ice maker, twice for the dishwasher and once for the clothes washer. The dishwasher leaked on the floor. The rubber washer on the door was replaced and less than a year later it was leaking again. This time the metal lock at the top of the door had to be replaced to hold the door shut better to keep it from leaking. The ice maker stopped working and the whole unit was replaced because apparently it was on recall which I was never informed of.

Since then only the crushed ice works in the door because the switch from cube to crush keeps freezing and all the repair person could do was use a hair dryer on it and told me that would be all I could do from now on. He told me it was a bad design. My washing machine had a computer board go out on it so the fast spin to get the water out of the clothes did not work. That repair cost me around 250. All of this happened within about a 2 1/2-3 year period. I remembered Fridgidaire being a good reliable company who made reliable products but at this time I would not buy their appliances again.

I paid for the repair person to come out to my home 6 times. I don't have the exact amount at this time. I did remember the computer board for the washing machine being around 250. I live in a rural area and it is hard to get the repair person to come soon. So I go without using whatever is broken until he can arrive.

I asked the cust service rep, when he kept repeating the same phrase like a robot, to let me spesk to his superior, and he refused, saying he had no superior. He spoke in an accent that I could not understand and was generally , if not rude, at least very dissmissive of my complaint. I will never purchase another appliance from this company, and I would advise anyone to boycott them as well. I wanted someone to explain to me why, if a certified Frigidaire repairman referred to me by a very nice young lady with whom I had previously spoken via the Frigidaire help line told me that my Range was defective from the start, I should have to pay diagnostic and labor to have it repaired? It should not matter that I don't cook much and therefore did not realize that I had a defective appliance until the cooktop began to separate. just wanted to speak to someone sympathetic to my situation. I have always bought Whirlpool in the past, and I could kick myself for allowing the salesman at owes to tell me that Frigidaire is just as good!! What a . joke
