Who to Contact at Electrolux/Frigidaire

Frigidaire, now owned by Electrolux, is one of the oldest brand names in home appliances but that doesn't necessarily mean it's one of the most reliable, as the complaints in this section attest.

Electrolux has provided us with the email address of an escalation specialist who promises to try to solve some of the more pressing complaints.

Some unlucky souls have trouble with multiple Frigidaire appliances, like those below:

Andrea of Fountain Valley CA (04/18/07)

My husband purchased a new Frigidaire range for Christmas. I have only had it for 2 years and already the digital display panel is falling off. It looks like it was attached with some cheap plastic. I called Electrolux which is manufacturer of the product. They told me that they would possibly pay for the parts and labor but I have to pay for the diagnosis. To have someone come out and give a diagnosis it is going to cost 89.00. Considering, I hardly ever cook and haven't used the oven much for it to be falling apart so soon shows the quality of their products.

I purchased a Frigidaire Dishwasher and had several issues with it in the first few weeks after installing it. The door would not close and after having it serviced three or four times it was replaced. Now The top rack is always coming off of the rollers. I would not buy another Frigidaire product ever. I have other Frigidaire products and have problems with each!

Mary of Gallipolis, OH (08/28/06)
In December 2005 I purchased a Side by Side Refrig, a Gas Range, dishwasher, and a Microwave.  Since then the refrig, stove and diswasher have all been serviced at least 2 times. How can 1 person buy 4 appliances and 3 of them need repair within a week of purchase?

I would not recommend these products.

Anita of Clarkesville, GA January 23, 2006

Anita of Clarkesville GA (01/23/06)
I purchased a front load washer, dryer, dishwasher, ceramic top stove, refrigerator and upright freezer all Frigidaire from the same local appliance store less than four years ago. The warranty was only for one year and and I had a repairman out for the washer and oven. If I put items in the refrigerator doors the shelves come off and food is on the floor. The dishwasher does not clean consistently leaving dishes dirty. The ceramic top looks old, pattern rubbed off.

The consequences are a single Mom with new appliances that have to be replaced and water damage to the floor and a custom made wood cabinet that the washer and dryer sits on. Holiday baked goods that had to be thrown out because the temperature was not even. Appliances that I thought I would get at least 15 years service out of and have barely gotten 4. The appliance store has washed their hands of this due to the one year warranty.

I have also talked to 5 other people who have had unsatisfactory appliances of the same brand from the same appliance store with the same one year warranty frustrations. I cannot afford to replace these appliances but in order to take care of my family I will be forced to do something. It is not right for the hard working consumers to pay hard earned money to find they have an inferior product and no recourse but to pay out more money for replacements. I work two jobs to meet the needs of my family and this put me in a financial hardship. I have also expressed my hardship to Frigidaire but doubt I will gain any satisfaction from them...they already have my money.

Peter of Marina Del Rey, CA November 25, 2005

Peter of Marina Del Rey CA (11/25/05)
We have a Frigidare Oven we installed approximate 3 years ago.

We have always had problems with it keeping the right temperature. Two months ago the control touch pad went out and the repairman replaced the panel and the touch pad. This took 4 trips to get it right.

Yesterday, Thanksgiving Day, we put our turkey in the oven and set the temp at 325 degrees. 45 minutes into the cooking, the control panel showed signs of moisture in it and it started flashing F1. My wife hit cancel and then reset the oven to cook the turkey at 325 degrees. We watched for a few minutes and I noted the temp went up to over 900 degrees which is what it dones when it goes into the cleaning mode.

That's exactly what it did, it locked the doors of the ovens and went on the cleaning mode and the panel just continued to flash. At this point the panel became useless, nothing could be canceled and the oven proceeded to burn the turkey. I thus had to go to the breaker and shut the oven down.
