We were washing dishes when a plastic burning smell came from the dishwasher. We bought the dishwasher a year ago thinking it was going to last us for a long time. Now we are scared to run it at all.

Tried to call 800 number but no one to answer. Hmmm the blogs are right frigidaire does not care. We have had to turn the breaker off in order to feel safe. What else should we do if the company is not going to do anything about this? They don't care about thier comapany why should we.

i recieved a call from a nieghbor at the condo that my two daughters live at and that i own. there was a strong oder of an electrical fire type smell filling the entire building. the fire department came. it was from the dish washer that was NOT on. no one was at home.we feel so blessed that it was not in the middle of the night with devistating consequences. we checked on line and found similar episodes. the next day we contacted the company only to be told that if it were a manufacturing issue it would have been noted sooner and that we were not covered by warranty. they (i believe knowingly) missed the point that there is a recuurent and possibly deadly defect in their product. PLEASE DO NOT BUY fridgidare/electrolux products if this is how little they value the lives of thier customers

Tonight as I was running the diswaher my kitchen filled with smoke and there was an orange glow next to the wall. after immediately turning off the circuit breaker I pulled the built in dishwasher out to find all of the wiring under the dishwasher had the plastic coating melted off. This was Frigidaire model # FDB510LCS2

Fortunately we were home and there was no damage to our home however we no longer have a dishwasher.

Incident: 1:00 AM on Monday, February 23. Our Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher caught fire. We woke up in the middle of the night to a house filling with smoke and an overwhelming smell of burning plastic. We came down to see our dishwasher break out in flames. Fortunately, we were prepared with smoke alarms and a fire extinguisher, and were able to put the flames out. The fire department came and confirmed that the dishwasher control panel caused the fire. We contacted both Frigidaire and Electrolux by email. We explained the incident, and asked to be contacted. We gave email, mailing address and phone number, but they have not contacted us.

Internet research showed us that there are several other incidents of this brand of dishwasher catching fire.

Luckily, our 4 children and my husband and I were all safe. Other than my children being afraid to go to sleep at night now, the clean up, and the cost of a new dishwasher there were no major consequences. We are so lucky. From what I found on the internet, we are certainly NOT the first family this has happened to with a Frigidaire product. I hope the next family this happens to is as lucky as we were.

My 15mo. daughter cut the back of her heel on the kick board of the Frigidaire Stainless Steal Professional Series dishwasher we have. We contacted the company and they had us call out a technician at our cost to see if this unit is a defect. The technician said it is a raw edge that is exposed and filled out all of the paperwork for the investigation. We have contacted Frigidaire 3 times and have had no luck with them, we just get transfered to another voice mail and never get a response back.

When my daugher cut her foot, it required 17 stitches to put her heel back on. We spent hundreds of dollars on Medical bills, bandages, missed wages, not to mention my daughter will never have feeling in the back of her left foot. The cut was so deep it went through her nerves.
