Lori of San Diego, CA July 21, 2009 In December 08 I purchased a very high end expensive double draer dishwaser model DD605. Since installion, the dishwasher has not worked properly. In fact, I don't even know what it's like to have a double drawer dishwasher- as both drawers have worked maybe twice within the psat 6 months. You name it, it's been a problem... from water not draining, applaince not shutting off- running for 5 hours at a time, etc. It hsa been very hard to get an authorized service dealer out- as he seldom can be here after 4:00 and I work full time. Consequently, I have had many times no working dishwasher. Supposedly it is fixed now with this last service call- but I hold my breath every time I turn it on... I would NEVER but from this company again. As far as cleaning the dishes, I would never buy this product again. My 15 year old dishwaser did a muc better job of cleaning the dishes... regardless of HOW you loaded it or what detergent you used. In my opnion, this product was released to consumers without working out all of the kinks and it is so poorly designed... if you have a family of more than 2 you would be better off to wash the dishes my hand ella of leavenworth, WA July 16, 2009 I purchased this washer from Savmart about 2 years ago. I have had to call the repair man three times to fix it. The problem is ablut any thing can get stuck in the drain tube. First two times was a button or coin. This last time it was a washer sheet. The cost of repairs was over 100.00 this last time it was 150.00. At this rate I could buy a new washer. The repairman said this washer has no filter screen and that is the problem. I feel that the machine needs a filter because the repairs are stupid. I feel that you should pay this bill and not me. janet of SANTA CRUZ , CA July 5, 2009 Brand new refrigerator purchased on 11/08. Have had repair men out 12+ times for a strange noise and a control panel failure. Compressor was replaced, still made noise, repair man came out again after finding out the repair was not done correctly, fixed it but then a part broke off in his hands and he had to do a "McGyver" type of repair. He informed me that he was concerned that the repair may not hold or may have damaged internal part of fridge. FP said it was fine. How can it be fine? Repair man was not confident, so how can they be? I'm not, so now we are stuck with a fridge (they said they would not replace it and we can just keep getting it repaired) that will go out of warranty in 3 months. So when it breaks again, were stuck. FP's customer service is terrible. One wanted to immediately argue with me, blamed the repair co for not updating them but, when I called the repair co (they referred me to) they said all the info was delivered right away to FP. Who's telling the truth here? We feel stuck with a lemon. Very unhappy to the point I started to cry on the phone with the manager. Horrible experience. Dana of Montgomery , AL July 4, 2009 We bought a Fisher Paykel washer six months or so ago to replace a washer that finally gave up the ghost. We got a matching dryer. Washcloths and towels don't get clean smelling. I've changed detergent and experimented with detergent amounts but washcloths especially thick ones still smell bad after being washed and dried. The smell activates when the washcloth is moistened for use. Using bleach seemed to help. Our old washer never produced smelly washcloths, or I never noticed. Also, a cleaned washcloth when wet prior to use still smells like detergent. This occurs even on heavy duty wash cycle that has extra rinse cycles. For some reason nothing else seems to have an unwashed smell after drying. In my opinion the agitator in the FP washer doesn't move clothing as vigorously as other washers. In fairness, our neighbor bought a FP washer right after we did and she said she's had no smell problems. (I may be extra sensitive to smell.) Now my spouse says the FP dryer doesn't work on one cycle. We've called a repairman from the one merchant who sells FP. After reading comments it will be interesting to see the outcome. Frank of Walker, MI June 24, 2009 I purchased a Fisher Paykel dishwasher in March of 2003 for my new home. It was very expensive. Before the end of the year it F1'd and has done so ever since periodically. I had a control card replaced once, which was very expensive. I got no help from the factory and I would say they are quite rude. I am an electronics engineer and could repair this piece of crap if I had access to repair diagrams. They won't supply them, citing fear of liability. Well, I could hurt myself by them denying me access to information that would help me to effect repairs. Tim of Gloucester, MA June 16, 2009 In 2001 I Purchased a dual dishdrawer DD 602. From the beginning this piece of junk had problems. It does a poor job of cleaning and will chip dishes if not loaded just right. The repair charges have been upward of 600 and that does not include the cost to repair both drawers which are currently not working. One has a failed rotor and the other a failed electronics board that filled my house with smoke. I have the lost the previous service invoices and the repair company has since gone out of business. F&P service center indicates i could be lying about previously incurred cost and will not stand behind their product for the issues it has now. I have a family of three, so the wear and tear on the unit is minimal, maybe run 3 times per week for 7 years sometimes less. Last night the service rep argued with me over the phone probably reading off of a script. Another time the idiots called me at 11:15 pm on a Sunday night and claimed they didn't know what time it was in the US. Anyone reading this please consider another brand, the performance when this unit was operational was poor, it breaks down frequently at ultra high repair cost and the customer service is dismal. My 12 old 295 whirlpool was still running great when i moved out of my other house and cleaned the dihes much better. greg of berkeley, CA June 7, 2009 just wanted to say "ditto' and add to the litany of F&P double drawer dishwasher complaints. Read the litany and pick the worst out of every one to compose my story. I have a 'perfectly good' stainless double drawer unit sitting in my garage for anyone who wants to waste money endlessly on repairs. Takes me back to the days of my 1956 fix or repair daily, my personal learning lab where I eventually fixed everything on the car to keep it on the road. We have a hole in our kitchen awaiting delivery of a US-made appliance costing 1/3,for which I can get parts. We also have our toes & fingers crossed on this one. Yes, we did check the consumer boards on this round. Karen of New York, NY June 2, 2009 Broken lemon dishwasher under one year both drawer units are broken and I cannot get repairs done. I have been trying to get units serviced since late February - authorized repair people say F&P doesn't send them the parts for service. There are dozens of complaints about this model on line - now as I call the service department at F&P they hang up on me. I went to superior appliance repair 212-221-9119 as per F&P web site they are listed as an authorized repair company. They have kept me hanging saying units and parts needed for repair are on back order.. my order number is 812-67966 and parts are 522091... I have been trying to get this repaired since March - Superior says they were waiting for parts to come in and re-ordered parts second time in April it is now June and I called to research the problem and the woman at F&P hung up on me - I finally called PC Richards and now they are investigating and trying to get this serviced. You should investigate this fisher and Paykel company there are hosts of complaints against them on the internet and this dishwasher unit per the appliance companies are lemons and break repeatedly in under a year. R of Silver Springs, NV May 29, 2009 I too, purchased a Fisher Paykel washing machine two years ago. Within three months, under warranty and after several visits, a new "brain" was installed. Now the pump appears to have failed AND I get a nice shower out of the lid whenever the last spin cycle comes on. I was thinking of replacing the pump until I read all the comments and I am not wasting money on something I will be having repaired again and again. I'll take it out back and teach it a lesson. It's unfortunate the company does not stand behind their products. It is definitely an economic hardship to be purchasing another washing machine after only two years. But for one thing, it will never be a Fisher Paykel. Teresa of Russell, KY May 28, 2009 I bought a Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer almost two years ago. Recently it was beeping and telling me "I'm not getting any water". 60 and a GOOD SERVICE CALL later, I knew the problem. Fisher and Paykel's washer has certain awesome features. One is it won't pump OUT water from the bottom of the tub until you're filling it. It shuts off the machine so you don't have a flood. All it needed was the washer hose that the water drains from to be pulled OUT of the hose a bit. Seems when we cleaned and moved the dryer someone had shoved the hose back in too far. Simple fix! Oh no, then something ELSE happened. I got a message from my washer saying ERROR 37. I ran to google, typed in the unit name, brand, and model number and the sentence, "Help, I'm not getting any water", and the fix instructions popped right up. It seems F&P, pumps have a nifty built in protective program. I had a friend (who is a guy with a lot more muscle than me, tip the washer over. Unplug the pump, twist it off, and out fell a dime. Right twist the pump back into locked, closed position, and reinstall it. Plugged the pump in, righted and leveled the washer, and hit "wash". It ran thru the cycles beautifully. I LOVE MY WASHER AND DRYER! Report Your Experience
