Farberware has a good name that is rapidly being tarnished by problems with its warranty service, percolators that don't perk, pots that peel and other shortcomings.

Here are a few of the more recent complaints ...

Ada of Charlotte NC (12/23/06)
I have what i thought was a very nice set of farberware pans. I don't think their so nice anymore because the black non stick coating has peeled off. I see I am not the only person with the same experience. Will never buy or recommend Farberware again.

We got a lovely, large Farberware coffee/hot-water urn for our wedding. It never got the water as hot as we would have expected or preferred, but we used it about once a week during the winter, and it had pride of place on our sideboard. After two years, it stopped working completely. I opened the bottom to see if perhaps a simple loose wire needed reconnection, and saw that all the parts were burned to a crisp in there. Have no idea where to go to fix it.

throttle - accelerator cable stuck on ford escape causing accident. there has been a recall on this. I had the vehicle in the shop to repair this before the accident and recall and they said they could not duplicate the problem.

accident caused driver head injury, etc.

Ronald of Alanson MI (09/19/06)
My wife and I got a Farberware coffee perculator for a wedding gift 40 years ago. It is still working. Based on our experience with this product, we have, over the past five years or so, recommended Farberware coffee makers to friends and relatives (six in all). We bought two of them for ourselves as well. NONE of them lasted more than a year before they failed to adequately heat the coffee or perculate it thoroughly. The newer products certainly don't measure up to the older ones. I contacted farberware in writing about these problems but did not even receive a response from this rude, uncaring company. We are finished with them, and we make sure everyone we come into contact with knows about our experience. We even tell people we see looking at them in the stores to beware.

I purchased a toaster oven at Linens N Things in early May. I completed the necessary paperwork, but didn't enclose the proof of purchase. When told it was necessary I sent that to the address given to me. Everything then was accurately and completely done in order to receive the 20 Visa Debit Card offered as the rebate. I still have not received it and have been told it is being processed. .

It is taking time to follow up on this and I don't like the feeling of being cheated.
