Farberware has a good name that is rapidly being tarnished by problems with its warranty service, percolators that don't perk, pots that peel and other shortcomings.

Here are a few of the more recent complaints ...

Tom of Clifton Township, PA August 19, 2009

I own a Farberware percolator. The unit is not even six months old. It stopped perking altogether. I e-mailed the company and never got an answer. Every time I go on the internet and attempt to look for parts, all I get is other companies trying to charge me money to chat with an expert. All I need is to know how to buy the part that appears to be broken. I am very unhappy with the product.

Saralee of Woodstock, VT August 15, 2009

I have been a loyal Farberware consumer for almost 30 years. I have pots and pans that I have been using for 15 years that I still love. BUt I am now deeply disappointed with the coffee percolator. I had one for about 20 years that finally gave out. I purchased a new one that lasted only about 3 years. It would re-perk the coffee after the initial cycle was done. So I bought another new one, believing that it was just a one time mistake and trusting the Farberware name. Now that "new" one has also failed. It leaks.

So I shall now be looking at other brands, I am sorry to say. No physical harm was done, but my trust in what had been a "decent and honorable" company has been seriously eroded. Can we not trust ANY of these major producers of consumer products?

Eunice of Elkhorn City, KY July 20, 2009

I purchased a cake pan beacuse i needed one that did not stick. However, the pan stuck things so badly I ended up with crumbs. I think I am due a refund from this company.

Saxyn of bethel, ME June 29, 2009

I was using a faberware pot. The aluminum that holds together the stainless steel bottom, melted, causing the bottom to fall off as I lifted the pot. The aluminum fell on the stove/floor and on my feet. Which got severly burned. Not happy. Didn't even know that a pan could melt. There should be a warning.

Mary of Chicago, IL June 24, 2009

Purchased Farberware with 40.00 rebate, sent form in in January 2009, to date still gave not rec'd rebate. 6/24/09

SEYMOUR of HOMESTEAD, FL June 9, 2009

This was almost a new pot with very little use. I still have the receipt. No Farberware contacts availiable anywhere! The power cord exploded and burned my stomach and counter top. I had to go to the hospital to be treated for burns. I have the hospital report and photos of my burns and photos of the burned counter top.

Deb of Pittsburgh, PA June 8, 2009

I purchased an 8-12 cup Farberware Coffee Percolator. Within 2 months the plug on the pot broke. I returned it to the store where they exchanged it for a new one. Within 2 months, the same thing has happened again. There is obviously a problem with this product. My mother has had a Farberware pot for 20 years, with no problem.

marion of eden, NY May 20, 2009

I sent in a rebate in jan. 2009 it is now almost june2009 and no rebate returned to me. Also i have to agree wiyh many others on how tho cookware bows and the lids do not fit the pans very well at all.

Linda of Croghan, NY May 14, 2009

The customer service address to contact them on the internet doesn't work and I can't find an address or phone number to complain about a faulty kitchen can opener. There is no way to send the item back if you can't contact them for direction.

Dorothy of wakefield, RI May 13, 2009

I have a 2 year old Farberware percolator that has basically stopped perc'ing properly. It doesn't matter how much or how little coffee I use---it always comes out tasting like burned weak tea!!! This should not happen after 2 years!
