Dyson Vacuums

---

Kay of Meadow Vista CA (03/07/09)
Purchased the Dyson Animal when we had berber carpet. Instructions warned to turn off beater bar on berber. Best vacuum we have ever owned! Beats out the Kirby we used to have by miles!

Bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner - it's advertised as 'never loses its suction' - it's TRUE! The most wonderful bit of kit I have ever bought - does what it says on the tin!

It pulled a tremendous bunch of horror out of the carpets - despite their having been vacuumed regularly, and is a joy to use, empty and maintain.

Why can't all products be like this, and why does it take the British to design them and the Chinese to make them? What happened to American know-how, now we seem only to know how not?

I was currently in the market for a vacuum cleaner i didn't know how to start looking so i asked some friends and they told me to look on your site. They belived that it was the best source of consumer products. I went to Best Buy in Union City California and I baught a Dyson for 600 Per your research on your rating scale for the best rated vacuums

I didn't mind spending the money knowing that i would get the best investment but i recently found out that by going on your recomendation as far as suction and dirt removal. Your research was completley of the dyson broke down on me the first week. I vacuum everyday. There were these people going door to door offering free carpet cleaning. They showed me there product it was a kirby. It did a better job than what your recomended research ever said about the dyson. I wanted to know how do you do your research? ( if any )

The person who showed me the kirby home care system explained more thourghly how other vacuums work it made sense. No matter how much the vacuum there all the same in the bottom they all have 3 to 4 inch holee. Why didnt your company catch that? I did my own study and it was true You have diffrent ratings for your vacuums and diffrent prices but by the way you rate your systems it seems like they are all the same. How do you determine what is good and worth it? Ive been vacuuming with my new machines and it's great. The customer service ive recived through them has been perfect and if i had any problems they take care of it right away. I just want to ask how you do your research and do you yourself use these products?

I purchase the Dyson dc17 animal vacuum and the second I turned it on it ATE my carpet leaving me with damage to the carpet that requires carpet replacement. Dyson states that it was a problem with my carpet due to the fact that it was a berber and I should have know from the manufacturer that I should not have used a beater bar on the carpet. The manufacturer does not state that and Dyson should have a disclaimer in the owner's manual that the machine is so strong that it should not be used on berbers or to use with caution and turn off the beater bar. It is not the consumer's responsibility. I have been using multiple machines with beater bars over the years and have never had a problem.

I purchased the machine on Jan. 15 2008 and contacted them that day with the problem. E-mailed them pics of the damage on 1/17/08 and they mailed me a letter stating it was not their responsibility on 1/30/08.They concluded that the damage was caused by a loose or damaged thread in my carpet but after inspecting the carpet in yet another area and determining no loose threads were present, I tried the vacuum again and again, it pulled up two carpet loops. I returned the machine and now am stuck with having to replace my carpet.

I have to replace my carpet.
