Dacor Appliances

---

Robin of Madison WI (04/05/09)
Dacor Dual Fuel Range, model#RSD30R, purchased in Aug. 2001 for 2000. A large crack developed on one side of the front panel after about 5 years, and just recently, the clock stopped working and a crack is starting in the middle of the panel. In addition, one of the burners fails to ignite and has never been great. I called a repair service, and the technician upon seeing the stove exclaimed, Oh, the Dacor crack, they all get it. He cleaned the ignitor, but suggested replacing all of them, as in his experience they would all fail eventually, as well as a new control panel kit and clock; that replacing they whole panel was the only option and it would be very expensive. All this on an appliance less than 8 years old. By the way, the burner again does not light.

Repair estimate for replacement of panel and 4 ignitors is 800, only 75 of which is for labor, which is almost half the original cost, not counting the 100 already paid for the repair visit. After an initial call to customer service, representative Carol promised to get back to you, but there has been no response to repeated phone calls. Dacor has not demonstrated it's advertising claims of superior cooking appliances. I will not consider purchasing another Dacor brand item.

Can not get any one who knows anything about the coffee maker to repair it.

Even people referred from Dacor do not know what they are doing, yet they charge service fee to come out anyway! I have spent 260.00 on two different service calls with two different companies to do nothing, and my coffee maker still does not work. I paid a lot of money for this coffee maker not to beable to get reliable repair service on it.

I purchased a Dacor coffee system from Expo. At the time of purchase, the salesman NEVER mentioned that the coffee system requires daily or interval maintenance. I have found the maintenance to be way too high maintenance. Difficult to follow their instructions. The person selling and/or installing should review the procedure to ensure proper cleaning. The products are expensive, the time involved cleaning is way too time intensive. I was much happier with my simple Mr. Coffee!

In addition, when the coffee maker was installed by Expo, my coffee maker did not work!! It took forever to heat. When they finally came out to see what the problem was, the heating part was cracked! a brand new 3000. system! I wanted a new one to guarantee I didn't have a defected product. Dacor refused. This made me totally uncomfortable. My machine is working. I stress over every time I have to take time to clean it. takes the enjoyment out. I wish I had been told and advised. Would have never purchased it. Needless to say, way too much work

Since January I have been trying to have my Dacor double oven repaired this year. The problem as you will see in my records has been going on for several years. It has always been the same problem and yet no one has fixed it just replaced the mother board and that has been it. I have had three mother boards. My complaint is that the last service person told AHS that he needs two people to test the oven and that is next to impossible to get.

I have been with out an oven for over a month and now they got one working but that is not satisfactory. I do not think this is what the contract says. I have paid my up front money and for what? The supervisors have been very nice but now I am only getting lip service. Some one is not telling the truth. Either AHS or the service companies. How do I reach D. Crowford the president? He needs to know. I am almost up to calling the better business bureau or my local station for Action for consumers. I have resent health problems, and this stress is not what I need.

The consequences to date are STRESS and with my present diagnosis that is not what I need. I need a double oven to work. When I contacted Dacor they told me what to do. Why can't the service people follow a plan? I don't want an attorney YET, I want this fixed.

I too purchased an expensive Dacor range which developed a crack in the front plastic above the range. Dacor offered me a discount after I sent a digital picture to the president. When the repair man came to replace it (I paid for that) he told me they should have had a recall as he has replaced so many of them, often repeatedly. I sent Dacor an email to complain and I have heard nothing. The repair man also said they have had trouble with the ignitors and they are expensive to fix too. Stay away from Dacor. What it cost to fix, I could buy another brand of stove.

150 for dicounted part and 150 for the service call. Still have burners of questionable quality.
