Consumer Complaints

Look out! There's a problem with some of these grills that can cause a fire. There've been at least two recalls plus the consumer complaints listed below.

Can anyone say class action lawsuit? Or small claims court? This manufacturer used to make awesome grills-- Home Depot bought them out recently, so there goes the build quality. It would cost Home Depot tens of thousands just to defend in small claims; I suggest using this venue, or report to consumer affairs for violation of warranty under multiple defects and no resolution. Even this costs time and money to vendor and manufacturer. Chances are you will either get your money back + expenses, or a new grill. I did this with Home Depot 2 years ago (product was Char-Broil), and they refused to help.

After issuing a subpoena for small claims hearing, they attempted to settle for 250. I paid 400, so I told them to take a hike. Day of the hearing they offered replacement of my grill, but upgraded to the next series. I told them it was too late. Judge found in my favor, replaced my grill and paid me 1000.00 for my troubles. When the grill replacement I got had a defect issue, I went back, and they replaced it no fuss ratter than having to deal with me again. Don't let these guys roll over you.

I have a 16-month-old Charmglow Stainless Steel 3 burner grill. All three burners rotted out in less than a year and a half. What a piece of junk.

I can't use the grill.

I bought the Charmglow 720 grill, as well. I was speaking to a co-worker about my grill, and he told me I wasn't the only one with the burnt out burners. It is actually the second of these grills I've had. The first was replaced after it caught on fire, and the new one had an attachment to keep the supply hose away from the burners. Now a year and half later my so called stainless burners are fried. I thought what a great deal; now I realize I was had. I'm most upset with Home Depot.

I bought a CharmGlow about 2 years and the thing is falling apart. The burners are throwing big flames out the back of the BBQ.  When I took it apart to find the problem, I found that not only were the burners all rusted and broke but the igniters were rusted and falling apart too.

This 350.00 unit is a big waste of money.

I purchased a Charmglow grill (model number 720-0036-HD-05) from Home Depot. It was only a year old when I had a problem with the knob on the regulator, which attaches to the LP tank. Due to the problem of the recall with the hoses and regulator getting too hot, this knob just fell apart. Thank God when this happened, the regulator hose had detached from the LP tank. I contacted Nexgrill and was told the parts for the recall would be shipped in a few days.

It has been since Sept.2007 since I was told this. I have called, emailed until I'm blue in the face. We bought the grill to use, not to plant flowers in it. Is there someone else to contact to get this resolved? Have not been able to use the grill which cost over 350.00. I'm getting no where with the manufacturer.
