| Charley's
Greenhouse Supply Mt. Vernon, WA |
||
Geraldine of Elk, WA, writes: I recently purchased a greenhouse from Charley's. I was under the impression that the greenhouse was made of plexyglass. When I received the shipment I was surprised to discover the greenhouse was made of real glass. When I contacted the company to inquire about this I was told that the greenhouse was not even made of safety glass but would break in jagged pieces if a small child or animal were to run into it. Is there not a law covering the safety issue of selling glass buildings? Do I need to be concerned about this? There may be local building code issues. You should check with your city or county building inspector. Also, if you live in an area with small children, this is certainly a safety hazard and a liability issue. Perhaps you could build a fence around the section of the yard where the greenhouse is located? |
