Char-Broil Gas Grills

Celina of Amesbury MA (03/14/09)
I went outside to start the grill (Like Usual) for a few minutes. My husband then went outside to start cooking on it, He noticed that there were flames coming out the bottom of the grill and the knobs on the front were melted off he had to disconnect the propane,Because he could not just turn it off because the knobs were gone. Also He noticed that the cable or wire connecting the propane to the grill was melted. Luckily it did not explode. We only had the grill for 6 months we bought it at Walmart brand new. serial# 17115356 Model# 463730807

The grill is not usable due to the melting of the parts. And could have exploded with the propane attatched. I have tried contacting the company but had no luck, I didn't find a phone number and when I emailed the email never sent, As if it were an invalid email address. I have also contacted cpsc and haven't heard back this happened in the summer of 2008.

On July 22, 2007 I was using my Charbroil Smoker to smoke several racks of ribs. The smoker had been going for approximately 6 hours and I went to check the progress of the lower set of ribs. In the process, I bumped the water pan and it immediately flipped into the fire pit causing a severe flash steam burn on my left hand.

It was later determined that the burns were severe 2nd degree, and whereas I did recover full use of the hand I will have permanent scarring. In addition to experiencing extreme pain, I lost two weeks of work and incurred numerous medical bills

Upon examining the smoker at a later date, I found the clips holding the water pan to be very short and a minor bump causes the pan to easily turn over. I believe this is a serious design flaw in the smoker and I would like to be reimbursed for my expenses and compensated for the pain and inconvenience.

Bought a Charbroil Grill at Home Depot. There is a malfunction between the grill and propane tank. Neither Home Depot nor Charbroil will take it back or refund my money. This is a potential dangerous situation. Customer service at both Charbroil and Home Depot states the other party is responsible.

Approximately 250.00... more importantly, a propane leak is definately a dangerous situation.

Purchuased Char Broil Performance Series Mode 4633463006 on 06/02/06. Was cooking on low heat and had all three burners going. Turned heat to between medium and low and 15 min later black smoke was pouring out. Opened lid and fire was raging on right side. I was able to turn off the burners and as I did, the entire bottom of the grill pan dropped down on to the cement and I noticed that the right burner had melted. Since the warranty is up, I did not call this in. This is my 2nd Char-Broil and will be my last.

Right burner melted, completed bottom of grill fell to the ground, and knobs melted.
