On June 9th we had substancial water damage to our home due to a contractor leaving roof exposed overnight. Disaster Restoration services came to our house, did a packout and stored all our belongings in their storage unit. They proceeded a dryout process and was suppose to retore our home back to its orginal condition. So because they had all our belongings we decided to let them restore our home. Mr. McD. made several promises to retore our home back to its orginal condition.

During the process we had several problems with Mr. McD. hiring subcontractors and his employes who did not do the job correctly, and also problems with Mr. McD. paying his sub contractors. With his permission we decided to pay the subcontractors ourselves so they wouldn't put a lean our home and we also bought the carpet and supplies for our house.

Mr. McD. told his subcontractors that the reason he didn't pay them was because we had bought several pieces of new furniture and were using the money to pay our visa bill which was a lie and created several problems between us and the subcontractors doing the work. The reason we didn't pay them right away was because our bank was holding the money and only releasing a portion at a time to us. Every penny we received from the insurance company we put into our home for restoration.

When the job was finished Mr. Mcd. refused to release our belongings to us until final check was received from our bank, which takes several weeks to process. We had to sleep in our car in our garage for several weeks. Our son finally loaned us the money so we could get our belongings back. We were told from the very beginning that any time we needed anything we could go to the storage units and it would very easy to get anything we wanted, but when we went their it was stored in such a mess that it was to difficult to retrieve anything. We only had a few summer outfits to wear for four months.

But the worse part was when he finally returned our belongings he did not return everything. Their were several pieces of furniture and other personal belongs missing. We confronted Mr. McD. with the problem and he says we got everything and refuses to return our belongings.

We have went to the police for help and they said it was a civil matter and could not get involved in it.

We also contacted several attorneys in our area for help and they wanted to much money up front or they had a conflict of interest with Mr. McDilda and his company.

He has the money to pay for attorneys and fight us in court which we do not have because both my husband and I are old and we have a limited income.

I am writing to you because this has been a real nightmare for both my husband and I. My husband had to go the doctor several times and get medicine to calm him down. And I almost had a nerveous breakdown and had go away for a while.

I don't want this to happen to anyone else and think their should be something done to keep this man from destroying other peoples lives as he did ours.

If anyone can help me with this matter please let me know.

Thanks Cordia
