Blue Haven Pools

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I was a subcontractor on several jobs with Blue Haven Pools. I had to make several calls to get paid and on a couple of occasions, we never got paid. I had many calls from Blue Haven Pools' customers wanting to know why the job wasn't finished, when I was just the heavy equipment operator responsible for digging the hole. I heard that they were no longer operating in Oklahoma and thought they were out of business, but now I see commercials for Blue Haven Pools in Oklahoma City. To date, they still owe me money.

I spent $50,000 on a Blue Haven Pool from the Austin, Texas store. I had problems from the very beginning with everything from them asking for their payment prior to the milestones being completed to them not pouring the correct stairs and ledges correctly. What a mess this project was. I had to get drawings and work with the subcontractors myself to make sure I got the original design, and I had to call the supplier of the coping stones to beg for more because Blue Haven installed them incorrectly and many have started cracking after only a few months.

City Inspectors hounded me because Blue Haven poured the cement deck over the electrical ground before being inspected. It goes on and on. I will leave out many disappointments with this pool to shorten the story, but after tiles falling off the walls after 14 months, equipment failures because of incorrect installation, three Better Business Bureau complaints within the first year and continuing cracks on the deck and within the pool, do yourself a favor, do your homework and have anyone else build it other than Blue Haven. I'm 60 years old and this has been the worst purchase of my life.

The spa had a leak, which was repaired, but now the plaster around the jet that had the leak is swelling and discoloring, and Blue Haven Warranty will not return my calls. They put flagstone on our spa spill over, and now say the flagstone dissolves if you have a salt system, which they pushed when we had the pool put in. The fiber optic light doesn't work. Blue Haven Pools put it in to compensate for forgetting to put in a third bubbler on the tanning ledge. I would not recommend this company to anyone in Texas. Be sure your pool maker has a good warranty and service reputation.

I have made several calls to two different Blue Haven Pool associates to have the holes and rust spots in the plaster of my pool repaired. The calls began in the summer of 2011. I told them I wanted it repaired before the warranty expired. Each time I called, I was told that it had been scheduled but canceled and they just forgot to tell me. The repairmen have never shown up to date (January 2012).

Blue Haven Pools in Chester, NY installed a pool with a defective plaster finish. The general manager, Dominick **, looked at the job and admitted the problem--yet a couple of years has gone by and after many unreturned calls, the company has not addressed the problem. He cursed out my wife on the phone and now, we are exploring other avenues. No one should give this company their money.

After Hurricane Ivan, we needed to resurface our pool and decided to add a spa, new salt system, and wanted the deck resurfaced. Blue Haven Pools in Gulf Breeze, Florida advertized as being a good company to do all the work. They were most helpful when we engaged them and the time was given to complete all the work contracted was 2-4 weeks.

It took 3 months and then more waiting for the marble piece for the waterfall of the spa. Many, many calls but no one would come. Finally they did but it was never installed properly. The waterfall feature of the spa has about a 20-inch piece of marble for the water to fall over. It was never sealed properly and the caulking washed out over and over, called many times for them to come out and repair. As of this date, 12/2011 they have never repaired it.

After 2 years, the pool walls cracked and were coming down in the pool. The tiles popped off everywhere, more and more cracking. The spa has never worked right, spits water up through the air vents. Cracking on the outer surface indicates leaking as water weeps from the spa. The textured coating on the pool deck molds really bad and since it was not properly coated right, water has gotten up under the coating causing cracking and more mold. Some areas of the deck were not coated well and so there is now coating in spots. It looks awful.

I am unable to get any contact with the person that did the decking. Blue Haven refused to do anything about the cracked and falling pool walls. I was told the person that did our job no longer worked for them and they could not do anything about the problems. They absolutely refused to do anything. I had to pay another contractor to come out and resurface the pool. He stated it was not done right in the first place and had to tear out most of the pool surface and redo. As for the decking it still looks awful and I am at a loss as to what to do about it. Do not use Blue Haven-they do not stand behind their work, refuse to repair anything.

I signed my pool contract on August 15, 2002 with Blue Haven pools in Metairie, Louisiana. Since then, it seems that every time I need warranty work done, I must fight the company to cover the repairs I am warranted for.

My most recent problem began with a visible leak in the wall of my elevated spa. I have water seeping out the side wall of the spa between the grout lines and making a puddle in the grooves of my pavestones. I have had to top off the water level in the pool at an increasing rate, as the leak appears to be getting worse.

I have contacted Blue Haven pools many times since May 4, 2011 and waited long periods of time before they would reply with any response. I have sent numerous emails, made phone calls and waited for people to show up, but have never come.

After much frustration, I was able to get Judy to send someone to check the spa to try to determine the cause of the leak. A subcontractor sent by Blue Haven arrived on June 2 to locate the leak. After he spent more than an hour around and in the pool, he was able to determine that there were no leaks originating from within the spa or waterfall area. He felt that with the amount of water running down the wall of the spa, the leak was coming from the plumbing within the spa wall. He did not have the proper tools necessary to pressure test the pipes and said Blue Haven would have to send another tech out to confirm a plumbing leak.

Several weeks went by with no word from Blue Haven to inform me when they would send someone to check the plumbing. After more emails went without reply, I made a follow up phone call on July 28. I spoke with Judy **, who informed me that my warranty did not cover repairs to plumbing. I informed Judy that I had several papers given to me at the time of signing my contract that stated otherwise.

Those documents show that Blue Haven sold me a pool with a lifetime warranty on the under pool and underground plumbing, which covers materials and labor. As well as a lifetime warranty on the pool structural shell, to cover labor and materials on leaks due to cracks. She informed me that my contract predated the current contracts they offer, which do not offer such warranties. She asked me to fax her copies of the papers I had and said she would pass them on to her manager. I faxed the documents to her and called to confirm that she had received them.

No action was taken by Blue Haven until I sent another email wondering what was going on. I received a phone call from Judy on August 31 telling me her manager, Robert **, would not authorize repairs under warranty. Judy explained that Mr. ** believed that my paperwork was not proof of warranty and referred to it as a sales tactic to sell a high volume of pools. He felt he did not have to stand behind the warranty, as any additional warranties like this had to be purchased during the signing of the contract.

After reviewing all of my Blue Haven documents, I found additional proof that my warranty was meant to cover this type of repair. I went over my pool contract line by line and found that, handwritten into my contract was the addition of a "Total Smart Pac" that was added into the price of my pool. Additional paperwork given at the time of the contract negotiation shows a listing of what was included in the "Blue Haven Exclusive Smart Pac". Listed on the list of items was the lifetime warranty of in pool and under pool plumbing.

I called to make Judy aware of the additional papers I had located, as well as the line item written into the contract showing that we did indeed include this warranty in our pool purchase. She asked me to send her this information to pass on to Mr. ** and gave me a contact number to reach him in San Diego where he was. I told her I would wait to contact him when he returned to the Metairie office the following Wednesday. I then faxed the additional documents to her on Tuesday, September 6.

My husband made the phone call to Mr. Robert ** on the 7th and was confronted by a discourteous man who had no intention of repairing my pool. He opened the conversation by telling my husband, "Well I would be doing ok if not having to deal with ** like this," and then laughed at himself. He stated that Judy had updated him on our problems with the pool but that he cannot honor the warranty because nobody can make a lifetime warranty.

He stated that things wear out and they stand by the structure but not the equipment, which is bound by the manufacturer's warranty. My husband explained that the problem was not with a heater, filter, pump or equipment, but possibly the plumbing. Mr. **'s response was, "C'mon, we live in South Louisiana. You know we can't warrant that because of ground water and settling."

My husband explained that, as a consumer, he was upset that we had signed a good faith agreement with them that they were not living up to. He mentioned the addition of the "Smart Pac" in our contract. Mr. ** maintains that was just equipment and had nothing to do with extended warranties. My husband mentioned the paper explaining the "smart pac" and he accused my husband of creating that document, saying anyone can print that paper. He told my husband he was gullible and fell prey to a rouge salesman.

He said they were a National company with a team of lawyers to fight false claims like this. My husband told him this was not a false claim and that this was what we were promised when we signed our contract with their company. He told my husband to get a lawyer with a contingency plan, because we would lose. Stating that he has fought off the Better Business Bureau, The FTC, the Attorney General's Office and other false claims brought by people like us. He then told my husband he had a long distance call on hold and cut him off with no resolution to our problem, other than to offer to fix it if we pay for the repair.

We are left with a very visible leak that, if allowed to continue without repair, will cause further damage to the pool. Our water bills are higher due to the need to top off the water to allow the pool to function properly. I am no closer to getting this pool repaired under the warranty I paid for and was promised, and this guy gets to continue to do business in Louisiana. He is a fraud and need to be stopped.

Our pool costs $120,000 and we paid about $118,000. The workmanship around the pool is horrendous and dangerous. I have emailed and telephoned multiple times Blue Haven Pools in NY and the owner is avoiding my calls. We were promised in May to have the pool done and to this date, the pool is not done. The concrete juts out in the pool and someone will hit their head and drown. The pool wall has not been completed.

If you ever need a pool, just don't ask Blue Haven Pools to build it for you! Our pool is less than two years old where we spent almost $50K! We purchased the house with the pool, assuming that it's new and under warranty. However, the heater is not working!

When we called Blue Haven Pools, we were told that the warranty is only for the original owners (even though the owner already passed away) so they will not honor the warranty at all! Apparently, they "just build pools" and don't service them! Well, they build ** pools with malfunctioning equipment! This is not a T-shirt purchase! It is an expensive purchase and expensive repair. A company who builds pools must honor the quality of the product. Otherwise, what is the point of putting up a company? What kind of reputation is that?

I suggest that you build a pool with a company that has great reputation and great warranty! Pool is an investment! It's like buying a car wherein the car manufacturer stands by its warranty on year/mileage - no matter who the owner is!

Our pool was built in 2007. The hayward motor just went out making loud noises disturbing the neighbors. We had to have it replaced at our expense. On the contract it is supposed to have a 10 year warranty.

The office that was in our area closed down and now, I am dealing with the San Diego office and no one will call me back.

In addition to the motor going out, the pool has large cracks in the steps and around the pool that needs to be repaired. The tile grout is falling out all around the pool, like it didn't adhere to the tile. It makes for an ugly pool.

If you're considering installing a swimming pool then I wouldn't recommend Blue Haven Pools but would suggest that you find a company that will deliver on their promises. We signed a contract with Blue Haven Pools in July after being assured by their salesman that our swimming pool would be constructed in 12 weeks - 6 weeks from signing to start (of construction), followed by 6 weeks to build the pool. The salesman also assured me that we shouldn't incur any extra costs over and above the quoted price as there should be no problems with excavation at our property and plenty of local sites for disposal of the soil. Blue Haven showed signs of incompetence right from start when our pool was delayed in planning because they somehow managed to get the plans wrong (which is quite amazing considering that it's a simple rectangular 8m x 4m pool in the middle of a large empty space).

Construction eventually started 12 weeks after our signing of the contract. Straight off the bat we were hit with additional charges of $500 for extra travel to the tip site and $200 for tip fees. Next we were charged an extra $300 to re-route a sewage pipe that they managed to break even though it was marked on their plans and I'd repeatedly told them where it was located and had been assured that it was no problem. Once the concrete shell was eventually poured, and the majority of the installation had been paid for, Blue Haven seemed to lose all interest in finishing the job and every time we called the construction co-ordinator it felt as though he was just stringing us along with one excuse after another as to why our job was being delayed.

Now it's the 15th Dec (20 weeks after signing the contract) and we have an unsightly concrete shell in our yard for our Christmas guests to admire!I've today been informed that the pool isn't going to be finished until sometime next year. If it wasn't so late in the day and we hadn't already paid these people so much money, I'd drop them and take my business to a company with a higher standard of customer service. So, as I said at the start, if you're considering installing a swimming pool then I'd recommend that you give Blue Haven a miss and choose a more reliable company.

We contracted with Blue Haven Pools of Pensacola / Panhandle (Gulf Breeze, FL) in 2006 to install our pool, spa, waterfall and retaining wall. The project was consistently delayed and the workmanship very poor. We paid extra to have spray deck applied to our concrete. Within a few months, the spray deck started to flake off the concrete and we now have large areas that are bare concrete and look awful. At first Blue Haven would return our calls, but then they stopped answering or returning our calls. Now we are told that the Blue Haven franchise and the Concrete Technology Inc. franchise (CTI was the spray deck sub contractor) have gone out of business. We have contacted both Blue Haven Pools Corporate and CTI Corporate but neither company was willing to offer any assistance. Blue Haven Pools Corporate would not even respond to our e-mail and there is no telephone number listed.

The fact is that the Blue Haven Pool franchise is still operating in our area at the same telephone number with many of the same employees. When I spoke with the Mark, the General Manager, I was told that they were a different company and he was unwilling to offer any help. We are now in the process of spending $15,000 to correct the many problems that Blue Haven Pools left us. This is the most unprofessional organization that I have ever had the misfortune to work with. Their workmanship is poor, their staff unprofessional and no one is willing to stand behind their work or products. Avoid Blue Haven Pools of the Panhandle at all cost!

Three and a half years ago, we had a pool put in by Blue Haven Pools in Arlington. The process was hellish with virtually no supervision by the project manager (he showed up to pick up checks). If my wife and I had not been extremely vigilant, the walls and tiles would have been crooked. Our pool has a raised wall on one side. About 3 months ago, the ceramic tiles started falling off. I called Blue Haven and found out that the office we dealt with had been closed and was referred to another office. The person that I talked to said that the problem should be addressed to the tile sub-contractor. The sub said he would contact Blue Haven and I have heard nothing since.

I had another pool company come out to estimate the repair costs for fixing the tile. This company tested the rest of the tiles and found that they would soon all fall off, because they had not been installed properly. The cost would be about $2,200. Stay away from Blue Haven. They have no customer support and do not provide a quality product. Once you've paid the bill, you're treated like me, a pill. They need to be put out of business as soon as possible.

Placed an order via website. Order is listed in my account and my charge card was charged for order. I never received order. I have tried to contact them many times. There are no phone numbers. Only forms/email. Never received a phone call, email. My card was charged the $450. I have spent much time trying to contact them.

Blue Haven Pools - We had a local office and now, no longer in this location. I have only had my pool and the motor is out and now, I need a new cell. It has only been 4 years that the pool was built and the parts are still under warranty, need assistance. I paid $38,000 for my pool, for the motor and cell to go out.

The title "construction superintendent" is a joke. All this guy does is collect checks. I am certain this is the same guy the complainer from Deer Park, TX cited. He laid out the pool according to some idea in his head, not the plans. My husband (an engineer) had to take time off from work to demonstrate the inaccuracies. We're almost 4 months into a project that was supposed to be done by Thanksgiving (5 weeks). Granted the weather has contributed, but much of the delay is due to Blue Haven being unable to get the contractor for the work that needed to be done when the weather was good. By the time they got someone, the weather had changed and we have had this repeatedly.

Now we are wrestling with them not putting in the drainage to code (we caught this); they ignored what the inspector said to do. Fortunately, we overheard it and have insisted they have the inspector approve it before they proceed. I am sure they will retaliate by delaying even more. I fully expect multiple issues with the start-up (if it ever happens). I have visions of having to hire another pool builder to finish this and spending years in court. Do not use them! I just want others to be warned.

Our pool is 3 years old. It is such a nightmare. The bottom of our pool is coming completely up. We called out 3 pool companies and they all stated the same thing: that the plaster was too thin. Blue Haven will not return calls or anything. It looks absolutely awful. Our equipment has broken down 4-5 times. Goldline (the maker) came out and fixed it, but here we are again. I came home from work yesterday with an empty hot tub and absolutely no power. The whole system does not work and I'm so upset. I've called them twice today and no one has returned my calls and the temperatures are too low at night that I'm worried the pipes will freeze. What can we do? I'm sick. The bottom of our pool looks like a bunch of dirt kind of. It looks so bad we don't even want company over. With the motor completely not working it will be completely green in a couple of days and may have pipes that will burst. I see below this that you have attorneys that may be able to help. Please do have one call us.

Heater problem for 4 years. never fixed for a long period. I call and call no body retur my call back. my pool was built on 2004. firs 2 years my heater was fine, but I use like 1 time a year so I call every year. they came. they charge work for period of time and nex follow year is all the same. sometimes I thing they put me a new defected HEATER,

now on 11/20/09 I call and no body retur my call. my waranty for my heater runs out on 04/23/10. my electricity is higer on winter because my pool is running all night and my heater do no work. I am so tire of this problem a well cost me 3500 for a new heater. my experince i recomen you to be prepare if you building a new pool.

In the excavation I paid for 12 trees

to be cut down and the stumps to be grinded out. When putting in my deck I found that 6 of the stumps were not grinded so now I cannot put the planned structure on my deck. It gets worse! My pool was ready to be plastered and I kept calling the owner (so I was lead to believe) and I called him for 2 weeks without a return call.

Then another man calls me and tells me he is working for Nick (and also collecting unemployment) because Nick went to Israel, although there is no message to that effect on his cell phone. This other man set up a plastering company for me and did the start up and I am having numerous equipment problems that has cost me a lot of time and exuberant electric bills. Filter, skimmer, vacuum... I also did not receive the pool I paid for. I ordered a self cleaning as I did not want a vacuum. I also ordered a salt pool and they set me up with clorine. This pool was completed in Sept. 2009.

We had Blue Haven install an inground pool in our backyard in June, due to scheduling errors made by their construction co-ordinator, Eddie, Blue Haven's stone mason damaged the concrete decking around our hottub after many unanswered phone calls and 3 scheduled times, that were not met to repair the concrete I am at my wits end. I am going to take them to small claims court. They are not honoring their warranties or promises to repair the concrete. They say they are coming and then we do not hear from them and they do not show up.

It is October 19 and we still do not have our pool covered, it cannot be installed until the concrete is fixed, I have the heater, which runs on propane, run to keep the lines from freezing. This is costing me money for the extra electricity and propane to keep everything running until the concrete is replaced, not to mention the damage that will occur to my lawn when they bring a concrete truck back in to already repaired landscaping.

I got my pool build in November of 2006, by Blue Haven Pools, Shaun my neighbor is a salesperson, and draws up the plans for the pools around here in the Temecula area, after it was done it has been hell, and I even got a enemy now as a neighbor because she avoids me at all costs. All the problems with the pool from the plaster to the pumps, and now the heater and like all the other complaints they dont care about the warranties they promised. They dont back up anything other than themselves. They dont return calls and the only time in the past 2 yrs of complaints they only send someone out once and guess what they blamed the problem on us. (Did we build it?) Please avoid them at all costs it will cost you thousands and besides that the repairs because they dont get reliable subcontractors to do the job.

We had our pool built in 2005/06, and it was a nightmare. From the planning to permits to eventually having to go to court to get my pool completed, because Blue Haven did not do their job. Since then I have had problem after problem--cracking cement, chipping unsealed stone, uneven plaster. You name it; it has happened. Now, I am fighting to get service for the pool motor, and I want them to fix some other things. Due to higher gas prices, they are charging just to come out for services. Imagine that? I have had to pay to have new grass at the end of the job. And I was humiliated in court and frustrated with not being able to use the pool properly.

Let me point them out for you clearly:

1. Tanning ledge was wrong the first time. I had to point it out. They came out and enlarged it, it is still not right. Superintendent did not catch it. I had to point it out to him on both occasions.
2. Skimmers were not right. Wrong elevation and not level. Again I had to point it out the superintendent who did not catch it.
3. The decker on addendum as arranged by Blue Haven at set price was not able to do decking in the time frame. Another decker contracted of which name was provided by Blue Haven for $800 extra money.
4. I was contacted by Contractor demanding extra money. I was promised by Blue Haven would not happen.
5. Superintendent said fire pit was not getting lined with bricks or flagstone that I would have to contact Blue Haven. Of course, he was wrong again and I had to contact Blue Haven and go all the way back to Pearland to pick out Flagstone. I was told at original picking of coping, tile etc. that I was done. Blue Haven was wrong again.

6. Housing Develop complaints to me about gunite being dumped into drainage, of course Blue Haven superintendent had already told builder he was wrong but of course it was true. Again, I have to deal with issues that Blue Haven should take care of.

It is my opinion that Blue Haven is not doing their job, I have to do it for them. The superintendent has only showed up to lay out pool and collect checks out of barbecue pit. Other than that, I had to demand he meet with me to review current status. Other than that, he has not been present before, during or after any of the steps.

He took some pictures of some chipped tiles that morning but that was it. He did come out for Skimmer issues because I again demanded he come out. He told me I was wrong that the skimmers were right. They were not as pointed out by a 2nd Blue Haven guy he called out for a second opinion.

I have had to take off work several times to make sure Blue Haven is doing their job or waiting for their arranged deckers, etc. And last, but by far not the least, the total unresponsiveness and unprofessionalism demonstrated by Bill and Josh and the total lack of knowledge that the superintendent has of his job/responsibilities.

I have been called a liar by Blue Haven staff and told I was wrong about numerous things of which I was totally correct on each (ex. skimmers, ledge, fire pit linings, gunite dumping, etc.). Now you tell me who is being aggravated and put out here. It is me having to do Blue Haven's job and them being totally unconscious to their job or their paying client! I am sick to death of Blue Haven's lack of response and I fully expect a reasonable response to each of the issues I pointed out above. They have incurred at least $800 in direct damage and unmentioned anguish and aggravation.

I signed a contract in 09/2008, so the pool could be fast tracked in winter, after we made settlement on the new home. Larry ** refused to come to my home with an engineer, to make sure the location of the pool and design was correct. After 8 weeks of errors in design, they finally came together as I recommended, and got it right. There was a time delay from January until April. Finally, they started making the pool, and had to dig it out 3 times, due to failure to pass code and delays, until rains caved the pool in, and all rebar had to be removed.

Larry and Eddie who were in charge would not believe disaster I described, and would not come to site. The resultant delay was 7 weeks. They have worked on the pool half the day per week on the average. They keep scheduling tile and stone to be done on days forecast for rain, and then reschedule for 10 days later. I am now 5 months into the process, and still have no stone, deck, or plaster. Houses in our development have been built faster. There needs to be some controls on these companies, so they don't just dig a hole, make a mess of the yard and neighborhood, and disappear for months at a time. I have never written a complaint, and never been so unhappy with a company or service.

I have problems from the beginning. They started building on June 07 and finish at the end of November 07. They have to redo the stamped concrete around the pool because the first time was not made right. Then we noticed that we were loosing water and finally we found a crack on the shell, emptied the pool and fixed it but we always had problems with the pump making terrible noises that even the neighbors complaint about it. It looses pressure all the time. The changed the Hayward motor and replaced (I found today that they replaced it with something else so Hayward do not cover their warranty). They also installed the ozonator on the wrong place making the filter filling with air. We still have a lot of problems.

Now the office is close and Blue Haven does not want to be responsible for the problem. I call the 1-800 customer service and Ms. Ellen provided me with the worst customer service I have to deal in my life. I spent $70,000 on my pool to be treated poorly and they washed their hands. Well, I built with Blue Haven base on their number 1 ranking, for their name and their reputation (that's what I thought them). I also thought that I will be back up with a national company in a case like this. What a mistake! PLEASE DO NOT BUILD A POOL WITH THIS PEOPLE. Take my word for it!

My hand rail turns rusty and have been replaced 3 times. My Plaster was put in 2 times and stayed ugly with egg shell cracks. They wanted to try 1 more time and we did not let them. We wanted our money back.

OUr stairs started cracking and we complained and they brought a person to inspect and he tried smoothing it out and it made it worse. They gave us 2500.00 for the stairs.

When I complained about my plaster again they said oh well, you took the 2500.00 and we can't do anything about it. I thought that only covered the damages for the steps in the pool since they were cracking. Now I have a cracked egg shell pool with cracked steps and am stuck with 27,000.00 balance. I am very dissatisfied with the construction of the pool. It is not fair for Blue Haven to get away with this kind of behavior. We wanted a nice pool and I ask you come look at it for yourself. Is there anything we can do about this legally?

We want our money back. We are paying for a pool for the next 10 years and from the get go the construction was going wrong. I got tired of them trampling in my back yard redoing the plaster over and over again. According to them they said there were contaminants. The second time they said they were contaminants and a crappy job by the construction guys. The manager admitted to the [bad] job they did. But because they gave us 2500.00 we are to just take it and be quiet. Please call me and I would like to talk to someone that can help us recover what we feel we have been taken advantaged of.

The pool was build in a timely mannaer and the workers were very polite. My problem are with the parts that they have used and the diffculty in getting the parts. There office was located in Modesto ca. and have moved somewhere else not sure...all i need is a part called jet flow outlet.

this product is patented by blue haven there for I can not find the part...BLUE HAVEN CALLS IT A RETAINER IT SCREWS INTO THE WALL OF THE POOL THIS RETAINER HOLD AN EYEBALL THAT WHEN THE PUMP IS ON IT FORCES WATER PRESSURE THROUGH AND CLEANS THE WALL>>>ANY WAY THEY DON"T SEEM TO CARE ONCE THEY HAVE BUILT THE POOLS THAT IS SAD THE RETAINER HAS SPECIAL THEREADS THATS WHAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO REPLACE WITH ANOTHER TYPE OF PART>

They treated my house and property like it was a keg party (we are still cleaning up McDonalds bags, coke cans and other trash they left and refused to remove. One group of workers took the liberty of throwing our teak patio furniture into the mud so they could use it to step on as they applied plaster. All in all, my 'infinity edge' doesnt work and when it does it sounds like a pumping station, which renders it useless. The spajets are mostly not working and you only get a 'spa' when you put the blowers on, which again, sounds like a pumping station.

The plaster and color/quality is a joke, and nothing like the finish they show in their brochures, or samples for that matter. When you report a problem (one day after the plaster is applied we knew it was not right) they will tell you that 'you mismanaged the ph levels' even when they opened, maintained and serviced the pool from day 1. And finally, they are rude and dishonest to the point where they pretended to be my wife, fraudulently announced themselves as guests in our gated community and took off like thieves in the night to take landscaping materials from my property that didnt belong to them but wanted to use on another job.

All in all, avoid Blue Haven Pools. Especially, F. Aylward. Their resolution consists of denying the problem exists, refusing to fix the problem when they do admit it and then telling you 'how far are you going to get' when advise them that you are being forced to make a legal complaint against them. This one even called every pool service firm to make sure I could not get anyone licensed and qualified to offer their professional opinion.

I had a pool built in May of 2008, everything went according to schedule. They seemed to have great customer service until I started to encounter problems. It is clearly stated in the agreement signed that everything was under warranty for a year. I called the office which built the pool, but they were no longer open so I was rerouted to the Tucson office. I spoke with someone and they gave me the number to L. Lidam. I called her and she said they might not approve the funds to fix my pressure valve for the automatic water leveler.

She did not call me for a week, I called her and she said my boss said the funds would not be approve because it is something I could fix I told her I was not responsible for fixing anything because everything was still under warranty. She that is what my boss said to tell you, I asked her to let me speak to her boss, she refused and gave me the number to customer service which was just a recording for me to leave a message. Im sure those messages get checked frequently.

My next step will be to contact the attorney general, the money is not the issue, it is the principle of the matter. It is not fair that they get to get away with not following the contract. I paid every penny owed to them and now they cannot uphold their end of the bargain, well I for one will not let them get away with it.

After being delayed for severel weeks due to rain (it rained the most when they were didgging the hole)they took thier time and did not show up when they said they would. I used most of my vacation days waiting for them to show. They managed to consume most of my vacation days because I wanted to be there when they preformed any work to make sure they did it right. Problems started with the tile grout. Contracters were not informed about the color. They also did not check to see if the tile I requested was in stock untill the day came to install it. They had several weeks to get my first choice in but didn't even check until it was time to install. Took 4 times to fix the leak on the water feature. I finally made them dismantal the hole thing back down to the gunite. Some of the contractors used very loud and profain language in the presence of my wife over a mistake that bluehaven made.

Scheduling is my biggest problem with them. If I take a vacation day to be at home I expect them to show up on that day not the following. Major complaint #2: When signing the contract we were informed that we would have a $1000 gift certificate for blue haven merchandice. After we recived the certificate we called and requested a catalog. We were sent a catalog that was reflective of the home web site, merchandise and cost. After calling to place our order in December we were informed that we should wate until after the first of the year because they were adding over 50 new items to their web site. As it turns out in short they were stalling to make us order from a different web site that has very limited items and they are all at a 70%+ mark up from their home page.

This is very diseptive but is reflective of the company they are. I mean who wants or needs a $100.00 towel. Now all the items that I had decided to use my certificte for are not availible from this site. I would think better of the company if they just said we will give you $250.00 worth of stuff from our web site rather than this. At least that would show some integrity. What is the purpose of setting up a seperate web site if it is not just to raise the cost to devalue your certificate and unload all the items that are not moving at an inflated rate. This has to be the most underhanded practice I have experienced from any company. Any item that is available for sale should be the same price if I use cash or the certificate. Bait and switch. After this I don't understand how they expect me to recomend them to anyone I know.

My so called $1000 rewards certificate is useless and worth only about $200. Not intrested in anything on the site to date and refuse to spend it on things I don't want or need at a bloated cost. I feel that we were decived and lied to on this issue and there should be laws to prevent this.

It has taken 4 months to get the pool to where we can put water in it and now it is leaking...having to put 1-2 inches a day in it. they keep putting off trying to find the leak and really don't know what to do. they hope they don't have to go under the already poured concrete to find the leak. They don't listen to what you want in a pool. they do what they want. we wanted stone on the hot tub but due to no supervisor on the job the men put tile on it. they don't speak English and have no idea what you are talking about. at least they try to make you think that. but they just send these men to your house and let them loose.

They have no idea what they are doing other than basic pool construction. The pool equipment was put on bricks...not a concrete pad...and now is falling down. we haven't even gotten to swim in the pool and it already is falling apart. the fiber optic lights are a nightmare. they have no idea on how to make them work properly. The man we dealt with was a good salesman but is lousy with customer service. they did get n 90% of the money already and then seemed to fall off the face of the earth. I am just sick at the stupid mistake I made hiring Blue Haven Pools.

Took more than 2 years to build a pool and double charged on almost every aspect. Rude, unhelpful and never provided any of the requested information. Misleading contract. Abusive contractors. Aggressive collections agent when anything was questioned. DISASTER TO DEAL WITH! Nothing went to plan - Avoid Blue Haven Pools Australia at any cost.

Pool cost nearly $70,000AUD for a simple, small pool on a flat block. This company advertise similar pools for around $20,000. Advertising is a complete fabrication -amazingly misleading at best.

We had our pool installed 2 years ago and over time it has had issues with the pool sweep and a loud buzzing noise. We changed/cleaned the filters, replaced parts on the pool sweep, etc. to no avail. We called Blue Haven in July 2008 and one of their reps finally came out to see what the problem was. It turned out that our pool sweep was hooked up incorrectly and was running constantly causing it to fall apart and stress our pumps. We were told they would fix the system since it was hooked up wrong.

After almost 2 months of waiting for help from them and being totally ignored, we contacted the GM who was unaware of our issue and upset that his staff handled this so poorly. Within one day of contacting the GM Tyler, he had a new timer system installed with a remote (upgrade) and had our pool sweep connected properly. The pool system is working like clock work. This is great customer service and we hope that his company receives more business as a result. He deserves the recognition of going above and beyond the call of duty. Blue Haven and other companies need more employees like this.

New timer installed; pool working correctly.

they sold me a pool then didnt do as they promised. starting with not putting in an auto fill on the pool which is usually standard in an inground pool then they didnt put a step out on both sides even when it was discussed at timeof signing contract. then sold me a heater for the pool but didnot tell me they do not hook it up. same with auto cover sold me one but forgot the detail that they dont install cover.

all this was at an extra expense that they fail to tell you about even thou they tell you that the total they give you if for everything. they left work area filled with their junk 3 months later their stuff is still there. pool is not safe very dangerous to swim in they do not reply to phone calls

They were very attentive and helpful until they received most of the money. They have received more then 90% of the contract price as of today. now they show up for two hours here and there, sometimes not at all for a week, leaving my yard a complete wreck they have absolutely no regards for your property or belongings for that matter, workers have helped them selves to cooler on my patio,of course if confronted they don't understand English!Forget calling office, rude and obnoxious no help what so ever.

Contract stated 90 days to completion from excavation, i do not think that will happen at this rate. I have seen some horrible companies in my life, I come from NY originally but BLUE HAVEN is by far the worst, and I am in the construction field myself! to all who are listening stay away from blue haven

First of all, in the beginning, our contract supervisor, David, started digging our pool without pulling the proper permits. We, the homeowners, had to tell him that the permits had to be pulled before digging began. We still have not received a final inspection and approval from the city.

When they installed the plumbing for the pool, they left out the plumbing for the four deck jets, they had to go back and redo the plumbing for deck jets.

The heads on the deck werent put in the concrete in the initial pouring, they had to break the concrete out and do patch work to fix the heads.

They installed a chlorine system when we requested a salt system.

The decking wasnt poured per the plans. We had to pay for the extra decking.

The waterfall pad should have been attached to the pool as part of the pool, not an additional attachment, which is causing problems with our waterfall. The pad was not smoothed out when they finished with it. To correct this problem they placed flagstone on top of the pad to cover up the rough concrete they left on the pad.

The pool had to be drained twice and acid washed, then refilled, because of the stains and residue from the flagstone being cut around the pool. The pool still has several brown, rusty looking spots on the plaster of the pool. The pool looks dirty all the time. Where the pool was acid washed and sand, there are no brown spots in that area, every where else is turning brown

The bottom of the pool is very rough in certain areas of the pool, especially around the draining area.

The pool lights in side of the pool will not stay on. They will turn on and stay on for about 5 minutes and then shut off.

After just one year, the pool heater died. The pool service company spent a minimum of 40 hours trying to fix it. The gas company checked the pressure. Jandy (the manufacturer) came and checked it out as well. We tried numberous times to reach Blue Haven, since their contract states that the heater is warranteed by them for 2 years. They never returned our calls. Jandy installed new burners, as the others were burnt out. Every time the heater would go on, it would soot up, smell, and make loud popping noises.

We called Jandy again; they said that the heater was shot and Jandy only warranties it for one year. Due to an upcoming law school graduation party for 100 people, we were under pressure to get it repaired or replaced, so Jandy contacted a heater company to come up and replace it. Sure-Fit was great... they took out the old heater and showed us that it was not installed on a proper foundation and in fact the concrete under it had completely crumbled and eroded. We have pictures of such.

Due to the heater being on a slant, the propane gas did not pass through evenly causing the heater to burn out and die. There was also no manual pressure valve installed, so the gas pressure could never be adequately adjusted. The whole area where the filter and heater are placed was not properly levelled off and the units are all in danger of falling down a steep drop if the ground erodes at all which could easily cause a gas explosion.

We paid for a brand new heater after using the original for just one year. The cost was $5500 with labor and installation. The gas bills for heating the pool with a malfunctioning heater were over $2500. Payments to the pool service company were over $1500 for them to keep coming out and trying to diagnose the problem and cleaning the heater over and over. We have not yet levelled the site because we do not have the money to do it. This will be several thousand dollars to do so. We currently put metal bars under the heater to keep it level and must constantly check it to be sure it stays level.

when i called to tell them that my spa controls dont work they told how shut it down and they will send some one well they never did and now its out of warrenty

was quoted prices, I then placed orders and when the items came it was incorrect and they couldn't sell the items for the prices quoted, I returned the order it was incomplete

I still haven't received my refund and the time they have set me back about 3 weeks on opening my pool

We had our pool built in 2003 by Blue Haven Pools & Spas in Deerfield Beach. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE THAT WAS! First of all it took them 8 months to finish our pool. Keith sold us on the wonderful in floor system from Paramount to help keep the bottom of the pool clean. That system has leaked from day one along with the spa light, a beam crack near the steps, skimmer box which was put in the shallow end instead of the deep end of the pool.

We have replaced the pool pump 4 times in 4 years, 3 spa motors, 1 chlorine cell and the plumbing for the pool was totally redone because the water flow was not right causing high pressure readings. The pool pump was not large enough to handle and 18,000 gallon pool. We have had the coping replaced half way around the pool because it was hollow underneath and leaking. We have had florida leak locators come out and find the leaks and do some of the repairs at our expense.

Now we have to have the in floor systems taken out or bypassed which involves draining the pool, chipping the pop ups out and diamond brite work. We are talking big big money hear, like paying almost $40,000 for this lousy pool wasn't enough. I notified Christine in the West Palm Beach office and she made us sign a new agreement stating they would only cover STRUCTURAL problems to the pool and nothing else for one year 10/08 it expires. We originally had a contract that stated the pool was gauranteed not to leak for the life of the pool as long as we remained original owners of that pool. Christine said take or leave it that is what we offer, we are doing you a favor by even speaking to you . This office is not obligated to cover the work of the Deerfield Beach office.

I told her that the West Palm Beach office's address and name are on my original contract not Deerfield Beach, I was told by Deerfield that the WPB address was being used because there was nobody licenced officially in the Deerfield Beach office yet. They were waiting for someone to pass the exam.... WPB denies any of those allegations and is sticking to their offer.

Well needless to say the work I am having done is not covered under THEIR DEFINITION OF STRUCTURAL. I assumed if the pool is leaking that is structural . It just doesn't make any sense. It's just fast talking to get out of their obligations here. SO WORD TO THE WISE STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. 85 COMPLAINTS REGISTERED WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU IN BROWARD/WEST PALM BEACH ALONE. Blue Haven even made it to the Chanel 6 news here in south florida because all the complaints registered with the BBB through up a red flag. So the consumer does have some power.

I am currently getting estimates on draining the pool, removing the in floor pop ups, diamond brite and refilling this 18,000 gallon pool. Blue Haven won't touch it, they claim it is not structural by their definition. Structural being only cracks and leaks in the diamond brite. All at my expense.

I met the sales people in my office on 3/13, 2008 and agreed to buy from them I provided a $5000 deposit. The understanding was that Blue Haven would wait to hear from my bank prior to depositing the check due to the fact that I was using a construction loan to pay for it and that they would go ahead and run my permits.

I left for a family vacation upon my return 1 month later nothing had been done I sent an email to the sales Manager, Mike G my primary point of contact and explained to him that I was disappointed that they had done nothing and given that fact I was going to look elsewhere for my pool. I also looked on the County permit offices web site and saw that no permit had ever been filed on my behalf by Blue Haven.

At this point Blue Haven had still not cashed my check. Mike called me and was very apologetic tried to blame Mr. T the sales person on the job and the individual who signed my contract on March 13, but said he would take care of the deposit return. On May 2, I received a call from my bank who indicated that my account was overdrawn and that I was being charged for several returned checks. I logged into my account and was stunned to see that Blue Haven had gone ahead and cashed the check, without telling me two days after my emails and conversations with Mr. G on April 11, 2008.

Needless to say I would consider this to be a deceptive business practice. I could have after all put a stop payment on the check when I corresponded with Mike but took his word for it when he told me he would arrange for its return.

On May 6, 2008 I called Blue Haven and spoke to their accounting group who said they would arrange for the return of my check in the Friday May 10 check run. I thanked her sent her an email of my entire correspondence with Mr. Greene and assumed all would be fine.

To this day Monday May 19, 2008 I have tried on several occasions to phone Patrick L the GM of the Blue Haven office in Manassas, VA but he has not responded to any of my voice mails. I have been told by accounting that they intend on exercising the three day cancel clause of my contract and have no intention of returning my deposit and that a letter has been sent

I am having a nightmare with Blue Haven Pools. My pool was finished in approx March 2003. The Blue Haven office I dealt with was in Deerfield Beach, Florida which is no longer there. I have had previously problems with my pool and getting results has been horrible. I now suspect that I have another leak and I have cracked and some loose coping. I called Blue Haven in Boca/Delray area(I live in Coral Springs-Broward County)and when I told them my problem, Christine in the service department said, that aint my problem, we did not build your pool and the Deerfield Beach franchise is closed, so GET AN ATTORNEY and hung up.

This is a terrible attitude and it's not the first time I've had this problem. I believe I emailed you all about a year ago when my pool was leaking then and you all helped me get it resolved. When I contracted with Blue Haven I did because they said it was a national company and I felt protected if I ever had problems. But, I don't feel that way anymore. Any help you can rendered in resolving this MAJOR problem would be greatly appreciated.

Current pool leak and cracked and loose coping

I purchased a pool from Blue Haven in Nov. 2007. For the most part, they were on time with each phase of the construction and completed it in a timely mannar. However, they turned a good part of my yard into an 1880's Cattle Trail. Somewhere in the contract, it states that the yard will be damaged due to the equipment. I've talked with other pool owners and have been told that other companies fix the yard at their expense or put plywood or other similar coverings over the yard to prevent extensive damage. Well, don't expect Blue Haven to do this. I spent almost a thousand bucks having my yard re-sodded after they tore it up. Had they told me up front this would happen, I probably would have done business with another company.

My wife and I also picked out some stone that goes around the coping of the pool. The stone we picked out is called flagstone. In less than four months, this stuff is literally falling off in chunks into my pool. I'm sure the filter system is going to benefit from this. I called Blue Haven and they finally got a guy to our house to look at it. I was told that this flagstone may be a bad batch He told me that he could sand it down and seal it but would need to talk with Blue Haven. Well, this has been two weeks and I've yet to hear from them. I called their office on April 21st and did not receive a call back. This flagstone is more like sandstone as it literally crumbles in your hand as you break it off in chunks. I've actually stubbed my toe on a portion of the stone that has deteriored!

All these problems in less than 4 months and it's not even Summer yet. I'm thinking this stuff will be as thin as bacon strips by end of summer in Houston, Tx. Be very careful when selecting a pool contractor. Just because these folks have been in business since 1954 doesn't mean they are proficient.

The flagstone is literally falling off in chunks in my new pool. Why a company would recommend stone that crumbles in your hand is beyond my comprehension. I expect the stone replaced and a different, more durable material put in it's place.

Signed contract in October of 2005; Still not finished. Sent documentation and complaints to Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Division in Virginia & West Virginia. Blue Haven Pools wouldn't even respond to them. Therefore they couln't even help us. Every negative thing you read about this company is all true. We can relate to every complaint and then some. Run like hell when you hear there name.

This site saved me. I confrontedRipley with my concern. My first impulse was to cancel our Sunday appointment, but he convinced me that it was a ploy by a competitor. He then faxed me copies of licenses, insurance, references etc. On Saturday, I worked and could not use my cellphone. After work I had at least four voice mails irate about not getting back to him. He told me he decided to make another appointment and was a jerk about the fact that I had not gotten back to him. I did return his call about 5:00 pm and left a voice mail. He never called until this morning, and I was barraged with his rude behavior and conduct. I tried to talk it over with him to explain my situation, and he hung up. Actually, it was the only good thing he did. Again I was saved from the fact many others have endured.

Never before have I been so insulted and attacked by a customer service rep.

They abuse and treat employees (certain employees) terribly. They like the ones who brownie up and make up stories. They get rid of people who work hard for little pay. And keep people who brownie up and do nothing.

The cement work around the pool began to crack 14 months after Blue Haven completed the job.

I contacted them and was told it was two months past the warranty. Who would ever expect a huge crack in your cement work 14 months after spending $45,000 for the pool.

It looks very unattractive and guests wonder why it was never fixed.

I have read some of the articles about Blue Haven Pools and would just like to say that myself and quite a few people that I have spoken with have a totally different story. I had my pool built by the Temecula, CA office, and I just have to say THANK YOU to the whole office. They built my pool in less time than they said (just 4 weeks), and they did not take a down payment nor did they require me to pay the last payment until after my equipment was running. I was told that Blue Haven is franchised and one branch to another is going to be different. I can say that I spoke to several satisfied customers in the Temecula area, and I am now a very pleased customer that they can add to their list! My pool is beautiful, and I just want to say I will recommend BLUE HAVEN POOLS to everyone. Thanks to all the staff and workers that helped me be the envy of my neighborhood.

Commercial indoor pool was reworked by Blue Haven Pools of Panhandle, LLC. to a contract price of approx. $45,000. The owner is very good at taking your money and not following up on issues that have not been corrected--and does not give out his cell phone number.... By the engineering diagram, they were to rework our pool from 3.5 to 4.5 feet, however they poured too much concrete and the shallow end is now 2.5 feet. The deep end was also poured too high, and his people spent 4 solid days of jack hammering to take off a few inches. The project is over 3 months behind his original commitment date, and I can't get Doug to return my calls. Of course the contract states that he is paid the entire amount before the commercial inspection takes place, so he has our money and we still don't have use of our commercial pool.

We are a commercial fitness center and were told the pool rework would be complete in about 10 weeks. This was 7 months ago. We normally charge $45/mo for our fitness membership; however some initial contracts were written as $30/month until pool is complete. We have had some members leave the club because pool is still not ready. Also, we may have other issues when the FL Dept of Health inspects the pool later this month.

Kurt came to our home 2x to talk with us about buying an inground concrete pool through his company. on the second visit we signed a contract with the co. and was told that the pool would take 4-6 weeks to finish. 10 months later and several upset contracters we had a half done job. we had a difficult time getting anyone to talk to us.

The hole was dug wrong, the plaster is not perfect, the sun seat that we had put in was too short, the steps inside the pool that they said at contract time they could put in were never done, the light under the diving board is 2ft off center, the 3 lights in the pool are not synchronized, the salt system was not working correctly, the wrong brick was brought out first time, tile work was patched in, had to have re-done, tile 1 yr later is falling off at water falls, caulking around pool which was done 2 mo. after pool was opened was not done correctly and is now seperating from side of pool and we have been told that it is at our expense to have it replaced.

I am a builder and building my personal home. The experience with Blue Haven Pools has been terrible. To get them to come and fix problems has been like pulling teeth.

I can't get anyone to return my phone call. They keep adding and changing information every time there is an issue. I have asked for these documents to be faxed numerous times and still nothing. The general manager even admitted that there were communication problems within his organization and he was working on that. Since then, he has yet to return my phone calls.

I have the subcontractors calling me to see if the rebar is complete and shell placed? Why are they calling me? You have to pay most of the money up front so they have the chunk of money they want, I guess they feel the home owner can wait. I will NOT recommend Blue Haven Pools to anyone in our area. I tried calling the main customer service number and can't get anyone there to return my phone calls either. This was to be an exciting experience instead it has been a major headache.

The water feature I ordered with my new pool was supposed to have a sheer rain descent that was supposed to be lighted. When Blue Haven constructed it they made the diameter of the water feature too small, so the rain decent hardware didn't fit. Instead of rebuilding the water feature again they asked me to sign and convert it to a regular water drop feature. I thought this second suggested water feature would turn out alright but it didn't. When I turned on the water it was turbulent and the water was not spilling evenly. I called Blue Haven and they said they would fix it.

They did some kind of improvised repair, but the result is unsatisfactory because the water still drops unevenly. For the price that I paid for my pool, the end product of my pool is totally unacceptable, with regard to the water feature. And the feature still does not light up as agreed to in my contract. Genevieve at Blue Haven customer service was quick to call for payment, but curt and rude whenever I had a question about anything regarding my concerns over the pool's construction progress.

I paid alot of money for the pool, and I feel that I should get my money's worth by getting the water feature that I paid for. I got a cheap makeshift water feature that does not light up. All I want is for Blue Haven to fix it and construct it the way I originally wanted it.

I am a sub contractor for a Blue Haven office in California. I can tell you that sometimes there are indeed customers who do not fully understand the process and certainly do not get the fact that once the pool is complete that any issues with the circulation and filtering system are manufacture warranties, and that they are better off contacting the manufacture themselves in order to get a qualified individual out to address the issues as opposed to expecting any Blue Haven office to send out a qualified person to diagnose any kind of service related issue.

I absolutely cringe every time I hear a GM say, send out the super to see what is wrong before we call a real technician to resolve the issue. In just about all these cases the super is absolutely the most unqualified person to make any kind of a diagnosis or determination on the issue at hand. You also must understand that they will indeed send out the person that cost them the least, regardless of whether they have any clue at all about what it is they are diagnosing. Basically, they send a boy to do a mans job, and don't care that they could have sent someone out that was more qualified the first time, and spent a few dollars more to make sure they got the right man on the job.

So my advice would be if you a have an equipment related issue, DO NOT waste your time calling Blue Haven. Contact the manufacture and they will send out an individual who is fully qualified to diagnose and resolve the issue in a timely fashion.

The pool was done in a timely manner but with many problems. The solar pipe was put in too shallow because their trencher broke, so they (the solar installers) put part of it in the retaining wall trench. The pipe was broke and dirt went into the filter and pump. Rocks remain in the system from this. The filter leaks. Solar leaks on the roof and is doing some water damage to the wood. The pump stopped working the first week of start-up. They used an air sander to sand the rough areas and the plaster dust went into our filters. Water level would go down about 1 to 2 inches a day even without swimming, they said it was evaporation but it goes down even in the winter at freezing temps. Air bubbles are continually coming out of nearest jet to the filter the entire time the pool is running.

We were told that there was a battery back up in the control box in case the electric should go out and there is not one. Sales person said it had a battery back-up, I asked over and over about it and he said it has one so that we would not have to worry about resetting the program. Power went off and the program was lost. Now Blue Haven says it does not have this feature.

When Blue Haven contacted us about this we asked about the things we have complained about and have not been finished. They said that they thought it was finished because of the workers that they sent out. Every time they sent a worker out, they either could not do the work or said they would have to come back at a later date. This went on for months. Everyone that was sent out to our house was not a Blue Haven employee but rather a contracted worker. They usually did not know what they were there for or did not have the ability to do the work.

Blue Haven Pools no longer has an office in Deerfield Beach, FL. They installed a pool for me in 2003 and I now have cracks, leaks, tiles falling off, broken coping and I cannot get anyone to return my calls. I have called numerous times to Deerfield now that store is no longer open and I have called to West Palm Beach, FL and NO-ONE will return my call.

We paid Blue Haven over $11000 to start building our pool. Blue Haven never built the pool. The excavator came and tore out our existing patio and decided for whatever reason that they could not dig our pool. We tried repeatedly to call Blue Haven and our phone call were not returned. Eventually, Blue Haven told us that they could build our pool, but it was going to cost us more than we had contractually agreed upon. Because my husband and I are both lawyers, we were finally able to get the matter resolved after almost a year and threats of litigation. They kept our money for almost an entire year and never built our pool!

Blue Haven is the biggest rip off. They want your money up front and they'll do the work when they feel like. They only use subcontractors so your job gets put in line whenever they can get to it. Do your homework and stay far away from Blue Haven. Their employees aren't even happy to be there and aren't allowed to make decisions. When you call the Baton Rouge office they put you on hold so they can call the New Orleans office to get answers from Judy who schedules the jobs at her leisure. Her name is Judy Abadie and her boss is Wesley Whitfield and they are both jackasses. The poor secretary in the Baton Rouge office is the only person there with a conscience.

WORST BUSINESS EXPERIENCE IN 40 YEARS!!! Once contract was signed, it was though we did not exist. No phone calls were returned by the local Manager even when I communicated with the Contract Office that I was considering cancelling the contract during the 3 day waiting period. Spent HOURS chasing Blue Haven personnel on the phone regarding issues/concerns/problems. Same experience after pool was completed (the pool itself is excellent thanks to subcontractors, no thanks to Blue Haven).

During my career I have managed operations with up to 300+ employees. If this were my company, I would start at the top and fire everyone the first day on the job. Have had problems with Viper Pool Sweep also but they have been rectified, thanks again to subcontractor, not Blue Haven. Bottom line...worst company I have dealt with, EVER!

No physical damage. Economic damage from lost time when I could have been taking care of my business. As a result of their zero communication policy to resolve problems/issues during construction, I was forced to turn down business (@$1000/day) so that I could remain at home to personally supervise the operation.

Signed contract on April 22, 2006. The washed up used car salesman Tony told me we would be swimming bu July 4th. It is now past Labor Day and we still are not finished. They take forever to return calls. They cut and now have blocked my sump pump discharge line after I showed them all where it was before excavation. I have yet to receive the solar umbrella I was promised at contract. The pool is beautiful and I am happy with the product so far, but I would NEVER hire Blue Haven to build a pool for me.

I tell everyone I know that Blue Have nis awful. They are rude on the phone when & if you ever do get to talk to someone. They lie about every phase. They dont follow up on their subs. They do not care about the customer at all. They feel once they have the first check they have you in a full nelson headlock. From the permit stage to pool school every scheduled date has been pushed back sometimes with a phone call. Tony and Tom are not to ever come on my property ever again. I work in the customer service industry and on my wall in my office, I put up a sign that says treat them better than Blue Haven treats you..

My pool was completed around the 15th of April, 2006. From almost day one, I have had issues with maintaining my water level with an average of a 2 inch loss of water per day. This being a salt water pool, it has been necessary to add 40lbs of salt every six weeks or so plus chemicals. They keep telling me that it is evaporation. While I agree that we have severe evaporation in the desert where is the salt going? Trying to contact Blue Haven is difficult at best. The Blue Haven rep who is in charge of dealing with issues such as this is either on another line, out to lunch or with a customer. Needless to say, I feel that they are ignoring me on this matter. Frankly, next time I build a pool, Blue Haven will not be on my list of potential pool builders.

On 2/12/06 we foolishly signed a contract with Blue Haven without letting our attorney review it first. It is now 8/13/06 and our pool is still not done.

They also would not come out and finish our gate as requested several times. On 8/11, they claimed they would send a crew out with a new gate after the original one had failed city inspection 3 times. We just want the pool finished but because of the unfinished gate they will not pour the plaster.

They have not shown up to finish the gate and after reading all these complaints against them I am really scared to let them finish the inside of the pool.

I contracted in April to have a pool constructed and was told it would be finished in 45 days, done by Memorial Day. It is August 6 and still not finished. No one ever returns my calls, and when I do manage to speak to a company rep, she promises me that work will be completed that week, but never is. I get no explanations as to why work does not proceed at a reasonable rate.

When the pool was layed out, I informed the construction manager where the septic and the basement sump pump lines were located. He apparently forgot to tell the excavating crew and they dug up both lines, in addition to the electrical line that powers the septic pump. The septic line was repaired that evening only after several phone calls to the company. It was several weeks before the other line and the electrical damage was repaired, and it again took many phone calls to have this resolved.

I have now been waiting several weeks for the concrete decking to be poured, and each week they promise the work will be completed by the end of the week. In addition, I now have a giant pile of gravel in my front yard that they have left, and I have little hope they will remove it. I feel that I have been lied to at every step.

I have invested $40,000 in this pool and have now made 3 payments for nothing.

They started our pool on 5/26/06 and said it would be completed within 45 working days. Every time they say work will be done on a given day, that day is always a week or two later. I was told the final electric would be done on 8/3. Then they told me it would be 8/7, but when I went over there they told me it would be 8/10.

What's with this company, are they too busy to build the pools in the time they say can or are they just incompetent?

The service and the delivery of promised performance is pathetic. I have had to drive to the office in order to track down Greg to get an answer to a simple question because he does not return phone calls. The pool construction was delayed almost two months because of their failure to coordinate and communicate basic information to the customer. Now we have two problems that require a 30 second return phone call to resolve and they cannot deliver in two weeks of requests. It is an amazing example of ongoing lip service without any action after they get the check. We have heard from other customers in the area about similar experiences yet they still are in business without any consequences for this zero service policy. The website is similar. The link to their email doesn't work. The 24/7 phone service doesn't answer. Someone needs to shake down this organization.

Pool not working as it should. Peak summer enjoyment diluted because of two problems that they will not address in a timely manner.

The Blue Haven sales rep, that happensed to be owners son, said he could give us a discount if we would pay in cash. We agree, provided that they give us a receipt.

They have not finished our pool. I ask them to correct problems that were pointed out by construction inspectors, and they would not. They pulled off the job site, and advised that they would not finish pool, unless we agree to not hold them responsible for errors and construction problems that occurred. They also will not give us the remaining equipment that we have paid cash for (and have receipts). The franchise owner says he will not release any other equipment or complete any more work until we sign a hold harmless agreement.

Our Pool sits unfinished as we try to mediate the problems. PLEASE read their contract better than I did. I have a $30,000 hole in my yard, and it may take months,(and they know that) to get through mediation, and to get the pool completed. Meanwhile they are holding equipment that has been paid for, until completion.

Sadly, I worked for Blue Haven Pools for 3 short months. During this time 19 of 20 calls an hour were from disgruntled customers with problems ranging from not having permits to start the pool to expired permits to finish the pool. Pools that should have taken 12 weeks were not finished in 18 months. We were told to tell customers that managers and schedulers were out of the office, on the phone or in a meeting though they were clearly available for a phone call.

My experience was that the work was shoddy, if completed, and usually was months behind. One of the unfortunate Blue Haven clients called so much that I told her I'd come to take pictures of the problems with her pool. I went to her home, took the pictures of at least 8 glaring problems ranging from cracked coping, deck seperation, missing and peeling spray deck, and coping that literally fell in the pool.

When presesented with the pictures I was told by the General Manager that I was to keep my nose out of construction and service or else I'd lose my job. I didn't and I lost my job.

We began calling Blue Haven Pools in May 2006, the 13th month after completion of our pool. We had been having problems with the automatic pump timer, the chlorinator and the skimmer. I was told that a work order would be made out immediately. Seven weeks later, we've not heard from BHP. Calls and visits to the office have gone unanswered. We've yet to resolve anything, this is AFTER replacing filter, above ground pipes, valves, etc.

Blue Haven was happy to put our pool in, take our checks, but once they got that final payment, we NEVER, ever heard from them again. Our concrete decking was also chipping in several areas, but the other items above took precedence over the chipped concrete.

Blue Haven started our pool in Feb 06 and finished it in Arpil 06. We have had nothing but problems: (1) The heater did not work. (2) The deck does not drain. (3) The cool deck chipped within the 2nd weeks of use. (4) The flagstone coping came loose and there are cracks in the mortar all around the pool. (5) We now have 7 cracks that start under the coping, go through the tile and about 2 feet into the plaster. (6) The end of the pool with all of the cracks is approximately 1 inch higher than the rest of the pool. (7) We have to add water to the pool everyday because of leaks. (8) The cleaner stays on the tanning ledge or in the corner by the spa. (9) Oh, and after 5 months, we still have not received our free umbrella.

We purchased a pool from Blue Haven Pools March, 2005. It's June, 2006 and we are STILL not finished!

We paid $7500 for fiber optic lighting that STILL does not work and we have been told by the GM that is the best they can do. WHAT!!!, the lights do not work, how can you charge me and say, "oh well...at least your swimming".

We can not seem to get anyone to help us. There have been millions of calls, with maybe a handful of return calls from the secretary (that just feels sorry for us). Our contract stated we should have been swimming just a few months after they started...not even close. Our punch list is still being worked on.

I loved Blue Haven prior to building my pool. They were professional, courteous, and prompt, but after they received the first check, it all went down hill. I have paid them $55,000. I need advise on how to deal with these people.

We chose Blue Haven because they were a large company and thought they would care about customer service and their reputation!

We have had our pool since September 2005. I took them from June 2nd to end of September to finish.

Service the whole way was horrible. Lots of hidden costs, issues, wrong coping, shotty workmanship, no communication, unreturned phone calls, rude service people, employees that spoke too much got fired. Now we have a crack and flagstone that is still flaking and leaving heavy sand residue in our pool daily.

Boy, do I regret our choice in pool companies!!

The salesman gave a good pitch and stated that it would only take from 2 to 2 1/2 months to complete the pool. Well, I'm well into the 4th month and the pool is nowhere near completion. There is no pump, filter, heater, electrical, plaster. The backyard is a complete mess with their debris, the decking hasn't ever begun to be put it.

Any and all calls to them are met with "Well, we're a little behind schedule and we'll try to get there sometime next week". They have been paid nearly the full amount and are not showing up to complete the work. I have had to cancel the landscape people 3 times because they're unable to start their work unti the decking is in. Over 85 plants were delivered over a month ago and they are dying because they need to be put into the ground. This will result in over a $2,000 loss.

I have had 6 pools built and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had.

Blue Haven Pools was hired in February 2006 to do a simple replaster and new decking. Well it is almost June and we have had nothing but problems. The skimmer was put in improperly and had to be redone which involved tearing up our new decking which they just patched. There is a stain that will not come up from the new plaster, the mastic has not been finished and they have never completed and presented us with our remodeled and ready to use pool. I am very disappointed and I am afraid that with only a one year warranty on the replaster that it will only last 1 year when it should last like 10! Sundeck is very slippery when wet also.

We have lost water and chemicals and had a very expensive water bill. Two children have slipped and fell because of the slippery surface that the Sundeck coating has created.

I contracted with Blue Haven after reading these reports, and I'm glad I did so. The guys over there took care of every concern as promised, and the pool was finished in about two months. I would suggest to anyone to look at the company individually. Do your research and trust your instinct.

I made a contract with this company on 9/24/2005 and they did not finish yet my pool, they have to fix some spots inside the pool and the deck is loosing the paint, and everytime I call to the office, they told me,in this week we are going to finish everything; but, they do not come to my house. I have been wating for a month and nothing happen. I do not know what to do.

Follow up to 4/11/2005 Complaint Posted on Consumeraffairs.com: It's now May 1, 2005. Curious enough a couple days after I filed my first complaint that got posted, a crew of several people showed up to attempt to fix "warranty" work. Dumped a bunch of sand to fill in their mistakes on the pavers and the coping. The pool has been filled for almost 3 weeks now and we had our "pool school".

Yet my pool wants to heat itself to 90+ degrees, the blower for the hot tub still does not work, the temperature reading is way off and usually says that its "shorted". I have to attempt to manually do things I paid extra for in remote controls and so on out at the equipment directly. What a fool I was to give them their final balance payment. And they are still hounding me for "extra" fill which by their contract, "no additional work shall be done without a change order". I never got/signed a change order.

Their subcontractors cheat them and then they try to pawn it off on us. They have no clue as their so called project managers only show up to have their hands out for checks. This truly has been the pool from hell. I'm thinking about putting Koi fish in my new pond but being it's always 90+ degrees, I'd be wasting MORE money!

We signed our contract & put a $1500.00 deposit down on Sept 16,2005 with a verbal promise of them starting our pool in 8 to 10 weeks. Christmas was fast approaching which was over 12 weeks from the day we signed the contract. We made several calls only to get rude people telling us that they were backed up and wouldn't be able to start our pool until sometime in January, but couldn't give me a specific date.

Our experience with this pool company has been a total nightmare. Our pool is all screwed up!!! The pool that we designed has two planters built in at both back corners and were supposed to be exactly the same, but are way off from each other. In some places the pool is supposed to be rounded & is squared. The two guys who originally did our deck didn't have any experience and we were the guinea pigs only for them to screw up the deck so bad that it had to be all grinded down & skim coated again & by the way still ponds water.

It's been 1 year since I contracted with Blue Haven pools. I have regretted every minute since. Cost - They immediately tried to charge me for a "Hard Dig" without even testing the soil. The pool was excavated in less than 5 hours. Quality - The tile on our fountain had to be redone three times. The coping job was horrendous,a large section that had to be rebuilt. Delivery - My pool was supposed to be completed per the contract in July of last year. I could go on and on.. My advice to you .. check the Better Business Bureau website, and if your state has a registrar of contractors check their website. If they have as much as one complaint look for another contractor. Most contractors avoid those high profile complaints like the plague.

We signed a contract with Blue Haven Pools - EVEN AFTER BEING WARNED by all the local pool builders! On Jan 12, 2006. We assumed It was a business ploy- All Blue Haven has done is excavate our pool! Everyday I call the office and Ripley is never in.

I contracted with Blue Haven even after reading the many national complaints that have been lodged against Blue Haven Pools. Some would say this is foolish but after meeting with Ray in person and raising my concern over these many complaints I felt I could trust him and continue to proceed with our pool. "It was a great experience" for my family and I and the only negative was my anticipation of getting screwed around each turn. This never happened and I am grateful to Ray and his staff for making our dreams a reality. Thanks!!! There are still good people in the pool business and Ray of Colmar PA is at the head of the pack in my book!!!

Contracted Blue Haven Pools to install our pool in early June of 2005. It is now April 11, 2006 and our pool is still not completed. The only time someone from Blue Haven has shown up was to collect a check. I have paid over $53,000 for a pool that is still unusable. That does not even include the lanai which I had to end up using a non-Blue Haven contractor because Blue Haven's contractor would not honor their pricing. I have been threatened if I do not pay the final $2825.35 plus some "additional" fee for "extra" fill, that I am in breach of my contract to them.

Everything, "everything" to them at this point is "warranty work", their words. Much like the first day their sub-contractor took out a section of my neighbors lanai and it finally got repaired almost 7 months later. Much like the gunite sub-contractor that decided to leave a 2 foot pile of gunite in my and also my neighbors yard only to wash into our irrigation boxes and set. They finally got that cleaned out 7+ months later. My yard was a trash zone for the entire project only to be told my Blue Haven that it will be cleaned up in the end and it's a "construction area" and is to be expected.

I personally had to go out prior to Hurricane Katrina and remove debris such as small pieces of rebar, 2x4's, sub-contractor beverage cans/bottles etc... so as to not have it become projectiles. Prior to Wilma, someone from Blue Haven did decide to show up and neatly wrap all the garbage in the plastic left behind by the form/gunite people. Post Hurrican Wilma, I had to pay someone to remove all the now scattered debris putting it in front of my home and myslef making numerous trips with my own vehicle to a dumpster as it was not organic and the hurricane cleanup crews would not take it. Here I sit 10+ months later still waiting. Still waiting on the "pool school" they so much promised and also for them to complete connecting the blowers, pumps and valves.

The quality of the pavers and the coping is beyond acceptable. But wait, that's warranty work. They actually had to redo much of the coping as it was so uneven, some of it as much as a 1/2". There is chunks of splatter all over the coping and additionally in the now filled pool which we still cannot use. We will be lucky if we can swim in it by June which would make it the 12 month pool. Houses get built in less than 12 months. A pool? What a joke this has been.

Per your article from the former pool salesman dated 04-11-06, he is 100% right - I am a victim of blue haven pools, signed a contract on 3/28/05 and the pool is still not finished, waiting on a leak, the deck to be finished and also, they built the jacuzzi without a step, look out below - this has been a dream come true turned nightmare in port st lucie.

They charged us $12,000 for the first payment of a $43,000 job. This is in violation of California law. They did not check records of a sewer line at city recrds and permits. They broke the sewer line at dig. They are rude and unprofessional. They do not return calls. The national complaint 1-800 543-3883 only has voice message, and will not return calls. At this time of writing, we are trying to cacel the remaining work with them, and be reinbursed for the extra money we paid. They were here just one day, the excavation. We still have no phone calls returned. We always get the wrong person.

I contracted my pool May 1,2005 and it is now March 3,2006 almost one year later and my pool is a disaster. It was supposed to be 6 feet deep and it is around 4 foot 6 inches. I complained to them and it took them months to tell me I was stuck with it unless I wanted them to rip the pool out and start over. Ha, like I would want to help them drag this out any further. Then they had to re-do the tile in my pool twice due to the awful workmanship and it still looks like garbage.

I beg and plead to them to finish my pool and they just lie to me and tell me to wait. I don't ask for much just to finish my darn pool.

Pool should have been plastered in May 2005 but did not perform until July 005 and has not yet been completed to pass final inspection. The assigned superintendent does not coordinate at all with us. He also fails to follow up on several issues with the city's inspector. The construction department consistently fails to make an appointment, when necessary, sending contractors to make any work or repairs without our knowledge. We are approaching the end of the year and nothing has been done to resolve this. Blue Haven fails to return or contact their customers calls.

I wanted to get an estimate on a siwmming pool,Cristina came out to give us an estimate and she was real nice and convinced us on a pool,we did sign the contract, but we decided to put a jacuzi and that we're going to wait till next year because we can't afford it at this moment. We were told that we have to pay $2,800 because we had already made a contract, but no work has yet been done at all. I want to see how much I have to pay in order to get out of the deal? I think $2,800 is a little bit to much.

we are 3 weeks past our contracted due date and our back yard is a disaster. we had to cancell a huge event planned for our back yard. we were told the weather delayed them but it hasnt rained . we i called today i was told marty told me that there was nothing she could do .that they worked with contractors and had to wait for them. I demanded that the pool be worked on everyday till finished .

The pool is fill with nasty water and the fence is knocked down, there are children every where and it is a accident looking to happen. the pool fills with water from my neighors sprinkler system. I can't to my dogs that were let out of their cage and the workers didnt put the gate up -- they ran loose on tghe golf coarse and scratched and chewed my back door .

Blue Haven pools was contracted to build our backyard pool. Initially, they were way behind schedule and started over a month behind what we were promised when we signed the contract. The utility companies came out to spray the areas to avoid. However, so much time elapsed, the spray paint had worn away by the time the pool company came out. No one requested a re-eval of the lines. (We ended up spending a weekend with out phone or cable, when the excavators did their initial dig).

When someone came out, unannounced, and spray painted the pool lay-out on the ground...incorrectly. This had to be redrawn. We spent over 4 weeks with a giant hole and trench through our yard while we failed 3 inspections, some of these we because the wrong plans were sent to the engineer and the city inspector. We have finally a partially finished pool with a very wobbly fence painted with a mix of flat and glossy paint(which is black when we ordered off-white) we have failed another inspection, and the company is starting to refuse to talk to us when we call. The poor communication and lack of concern and the fact that not one general contractor has come to check on the sub contractors work has left us wishing we never conracted Blue Haven pools to build our $30,000+ nightmare!

Contracted with Blue Haven Pools to install pool in vacation home. Contract was for three months. 7 months later and several threaten letters I had to finally kick them off the Job! Now I am in litigation! Tried everything to get them to finish the job. They tried to get me to release last draw for full payment. I offered to escrow until they showed up on the job. They would not do it because the spent all my funding on other jobs and cannot pay the venders. Any body that does business with them is a fool!!!!

Our salesman, Carl, gave us very good service & planned the pool well. BH broke ground Oct. 2004. Construction went fairly well until the subcontractor that put in the decking decided to start on a day that was predicted 90% chance of rain. My fiance, a construction contractor, advised to wait another day. When I got home that night, they were pouring cement in the dark & rain while we had to hold flashlights so the workers could see. Days after the raining stopped, I had a crooked pool (the coping was crooked on all 4 sides). This was fixed by BH to our satisfaction & the cement subcontractor.

BH did not explain to us the exact size of the $5000.00 upgraded pump system. We were told of the size of the cement foundation that the pump sat on, not that the pipes would extend out another 2 feet into our walkway where it was designated to be. Now our walkway is much too narrow to walk through & is an eyesore. Had we known about these extra pipes & electrical panels we would have paid the extra money to have the pump system placed on the other side of the house. I was extremely hesitant to write the last installment check. I generally do not do this until all work is completed with any other contract.

Also, to my complete suprise I was notified that a lien was placed on my home by the cement subcontractor, but would be released once they were paid by BH. One of many surprises that BH neglected to advise me of.

Sold us a pool package in the summer of 2002, installed it that fall and even BEFORE the completion of the project there were issues with the surface of the pool being defective. The construction mgr. said it would be taken care of by the pool manufacturer. The pool manufacturer came out various times over the last two years and according to them, did all they could do. The problem is the surface of the pool is peeling off, a VERY visual if not structural defect! The Blue Haven franchise thatsold us this mess conveniently went out of business, my my how timely.

I contacted Blue Havens corporate office on several occasions but was basically ignored. Recently Blue Haven Pools has again opened up a location here in middle Tennessee and they too have given me the brush off. I will gladly provide pics of the problems. Anyone considering an in-ground pool purchase should steer clear of Blue Haven Pools in my opinion based on my personal experience. Do not believe ANY of their own advertising where they talk of their high standards an great nationwide organization, I have found neither to be true.

Had a $35,000 pool installed in 2004, till this day the pool has not passed a inspection for permitting. I have had pool diamond brite redone 2 times. Not only is the diamond brite strecked but my son & his friends feet bleed if they touch the sides or bottom of pool because the rough diamond brite. THe strecks are due to a leak that I have had since Aug.13, 2004, when the pool was completed & filled for first time - I have no controls for my hot tube - just an empty PVC hole - my pool heater leaks as well.

This is the worst experince I have ever encountered with a Contractor if you can even call them one. Damage to my home from the backhoe. I put this pool in for my 3 year old to enjoy & his feet just get tour up when he plays in it, my neighbors don't want there kids in the pool because of the diamond brite causing bleeding. Victoria

Our pool was completed (filled) on 10/27/04. I called 11/1/04 to notify Blue Haven that the surface of the entire pool and spa were so rough they were shredding our bathing suits and toes. I was told by Melissa (construction) that the surface of the pool would continue to change and that would remedy the situation (as well as the color issue - it was supposed to be dark blue and it was pale grey).

After 6 months, on 4/11/05, I called and told Ann (construction) that the surface was the same and still tearing up bathing suits and toes. She told me that she would send out an "independent" company to assess the water quality and then send out someone to talk to us. I was told it would take 1 - 3 weeks. I also called our salesman, Gary, to let him know. After 14 to 15 weeks and dozens of calls later (including to Carol Felan, CEO who did not call me back), Ann sent out Joseph Ward, a superintendent. He gave me all sorts of excuses - the water in San Diego is hard water, the water had too much calcium in it, it rained a lot this season and deposited minerals in the pool, maybe we didn't brush enough...on and on.

I told him that the problem was there on day one so even if any of those other factors were present, they were not the cause. He said he would drop off some pumices within 2 days so we could sand the pool "while we were in it". He said the salesman should have told us of the probablity that we would need to sand our own pool. No where in their literature does it warn that we may experience shredded toes and bathing suits and to expect to sand the pool later. After 15 days and 3 reminder calls, he dropped off three two-to-four inch pumices for us to sand the whole pool with. I called Carol Felan again and she told me they had been "more than generous" by dropping off the pumices and sending out their superintendent and water assesment company. There was nothing to do but deal with it ourselves. All along I have been communicating with Gary, our salesperson, and he has been very supportive. Unfortunately, there is only so much he can do - which doesn't include fixing the surface.

On May 31, 2005 I had a new fence put around my home. 2 days later while Blue Haven was working on the home next door to me putting in a pool, their equipment got stuck inside the pool and they removed 3 sections of my new fence, which my new fence is now in horrible condition. I have been speaking with Blue Haven since this happened with no success. I phoned and told Monica that I would be on vacation the weeks of July 18th and 25th for them to repair the damage done.

Someone came here to my home I believe July 25th telling me whomever did my fence did a horrible job, which I did not appreciate his attitude and non concern for the damage done. He advised me as he walked away that he had no idea when they would be out to repair the fence. As of today no response from anyone. Fortunately I did take picture of the damage done and will file a lawsuit if possible. To avoid filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and courts, I would like Blue Haven to put my fence back in the condition it was immediately, this has gone on too long.

After many delays and stories the pool was about finished. The cage is of poor workmanship, the grout for the water line tile is of poor workmanship. It has been six weeks and no one has provided instructions on the pool equipment, I have hired a pool company to maintian my pool because of this. I have two sections of my side walk broken and they don't even want to talk about that. I had to haul away the trash, pallets and other trash left in my yard. I had to purchase a modular for the infloor cleaning system that didn't work. There is still one infloor unit not working.

Kevin McCarthy was sent to my home from Blue Haven Pools to check on spots on the plaster in my pool. He told us the only way to remove them was to do an acid wash. We agreed with his suggestion and after paying $1,000 for this process, the plaster looks and feels extremely rough, in fact, in many places you can see sand. Some places are so rough you could possibly cut yourself. After numerous calls to fix the problem we have found that Mr. McCarthy is no longer employed by Blue Haven Pools, and at first Blue Haven informed us that the plaster was out of warranty.

They now understand this is not a warranty issue, it is a "fix your mistake" issue. I was told many times this week that our issue was at the top of their list and someone would be at my house to see what had to be done this week, at the latest Friday. Now, today 6/17/05, I am informed that they are too busy with other projects to check on my pool. Mind you, I had been informed not once, but three times that we were at the top of their list and someone would out this week. I began calling Blue Haven Pools at least three weeks ago on this issue.

With the system they put in my pool , the automatic clorine feeder that feeds the clorine threw the system is not working properly. I am not getting any kinds of reading for clorine. I am getting very uptight with these people , they do not call me back , they have not called in two weeks , I just want it fixed, they just keep putting me off , what the hell is a warranty if they don't take care of you .

Briefly...We were in the process of bulding our new home in New Hope ,Pa. when we contracted last June (04) with Blue Haven Pools of Colmar , Pa. They started the pool in late September , early October. All along we had been told that at that time of the year it usually took about four weeks to complete the pool. The whole was dug , the iron renforcements intalled and the rough cement poored before the weather changed and prevented them from completing.

We were told by Anthony , the salesman , that we would be one of the first pools to be completed in early March or April. Here it is June 14th and the final finishing application has not been installed. In fact , no one from the company has come to our home and the salesman only returns your call after many are made to him. The office staff is rude and inefficient.

Blue Haven began work on my pool on April 1, 2005 and 2.5 months later it is still not completed. Cannot get anyone at the Customer Service number to return my calls. Very Frustrated!

My contract states that our pool would be finish in 45 days. It took 9 months.

we are very upset with the service that we're receiving with the construction of our pool. Today was just typical of the madhouse confusion that we've had to deal with. My husband and I went to the office (50 miles) to pick out our tiles, etc. Today someone finally showed up and after they stacked the tiles on our back porch, we went out to see how they looked. Well, three boxes are the right tiles and four boxes are totally someone elses.

Our contruction site (our yard) looks like the county land fill and we have not been able to deal very well with the office. Please advise us as to what we can do at this point. It seems to us that the person or persons in charge of coordinating needs to get it together and we need to be happy. Thank you for letting us sound off, this is most frustratiing.

Signed a contract on Dec 23,2004 for Blue Haven Pools to build a pool for us. We were told on Feb 18, 2005 they could not build the pool because it did not fall within their guidelines (whatever that means) and that they were breaking the contract.

We signed a contract with Blue Haven Pools in May 25, 2004. We were told that it would take 7 to 10 days after pool was delivered to have our finished product. Blue Haven started construction the first of June, 2004. Today is February 17th, 2005 and we still do not have our finished product. This has been a nightmare eversince. Doug & Amanda have $22,000.00 of our money and we still can't use our pool.

1) Pool was Dug. 2) Cement was poured (this was a crazy mess, the cement truck broke down after pouring half of the cement which took several hours to fix. The cement then become hot which caused the cement to become unworkable, but they poured it anyway. It was all unlevel, immediately cracked in six places. 3) Pool leaked, we were told it was evaporation, we were adding water 2 & 3 inches every other day.

Finally, when we convinced Doug this pool was really leaking, he ordered a company called leak detectors to come out. Supposedly leak detectors found the leak and part of the cement was broke out and replumbed and cement repoured. This caused a bigger issue it could not be matched, patches are very visible. They gave us cool decking and said it would cover all imperfections and did not. 4) After the above, pool still leaked.

Again, Doug was trying to tell us it was evaporation, was not. Now our pool is dug up again, and we have heaping piles of dirt, mounds of cement, our pool has now tilted into the earth on one end approx 1 1/2", very visible to the eye. Supposeldy Blue Haven has replaced all the plumbing, but it looks as if this leak is still there. $22,000.00 paid for a pool still in contruction mode almost 1 year later and the owners of Blue Haven do not even converse with us as to what they are doing to resolve this issue. They never call us we have always been the ones to contact them. We are totally frustrated, no pool, no money, no customer service or satisfaction.

Unfortunately my family is one of many those in South Florida who have saved a lot of money to make their dream pool with Blue Haven. Instead we got a NIGHTMARE, not only for one night but also for weeks and weeks to come. Blue Haven not only has made a terrible job in our pool, our pool has not finished to our expectations or to our agreements with Blue Haven. They treated us with inexcusable manners, responding to our calls very rudely and unprofessionally, our calls where not returned for weeks, and when the calls where returned they would handle our problems with lip service.

Blue Haven quotes are: “ Unlike pool companies that just talk about quality and customer care, a Blue Haven promise is more than mere lip service.” They also quote: “Blue Haven can be counted on to deliver quality pool you want when you want it.” I only wish that was TRUE Blue Haven doesn’t have any customer care whatsoever, the only thing they have is customer disrespect, and don’t expect your pool to be ready on the period of timed promised, it will never happen!!

Talk about poor customer service, money demanded at all times even if progress is not made, no warranty work, and get ready for more, I wouldn’t be surprise to hear anything BAD from Blue Haven I don’t know how they stay in business, but I’ll make sure that it won’t last long, I wouldn’t like to see anyone go through half of the things Blue Haven put my family through.

We feel like Blue Haven deserted us. It took 5 months for the pool to get plastered. Considering the mild weather with only a few days of rain, it is a joke. And a breach of contract. Blue Haven made excuses of a supposed cement shortage, but after the cement was finished, Blue Haven was nowhere to be found!! This is ridiculous! We had a 59 working day completion contract signed by us and Blue Haven. The office staff are unorganized, rude, have little experience or knowledge of pool construction, and do not return phone calls. I had to call almost every day of the last six months and I kept a log of my phoning activities.

Genevieve was our "construction manager". She never returned any of my phone calls and was rude and inexperienced. The pool heater didn't work and I called Gen. She said she would fax a work order to the heater company. Two days later, I called Hayward heater company. Bob from Hayward heaters warranty/service department said he did not receive any notice that my heater wasn't working from Blue Haven. He promptly took my information and sent someone to fix the problem. The "start up" crew Blue Haven sent on November 8, were two young and inexperienced men, the instructions given were poor, and in a incomplete mumbling monologue.

There was a jet in the jacuzzi (closest to the garage wall) that was spurting about a foot into the air. The "start up" crew said they fixed it before they left. But they did not fix it. The jet is sucking in water when in spa mode and emptying out the jacuzzi. Al Punsalang, our contracting supervisor came today and checked the jet. He said it was plumbed wrong by plumbing company subcontracted by Blue Haven. Now SIX months after construction began, plumbers will have to cut thru our new decking and correct the plumbing to the spa. The plumbing sat exposed for months while nothing was being done by Blue Haven to finish our pool. There was plenty of time for someone to check the plumbing to see that it was correctly plumbed.

Now more damage could occur when they cut into the decking to reroute the plumbing. Today Al punsalang said, "The office staff doesn't have any experience, that's why this happened." We honored our side of the contract but Blue Haven did not. We are very dissatisfied with Blue Haven's service. Your company didn't even send someone out until now to check this pool!! We will tell anyone we know that Blue Haven does not do "good" business, and that the sales "pitch" by Bob, was just that!! a Pitch! We hope you can quickly resolve these problems. The combination of poorly chosen/supervised staff and choice of subcontractors has made very unhappy customers. At this time, I'm guessing we are not the only unhappy ones. This has been a terrible experience and very stressful for our family. Our last resort has come which is to seek legal advice and to file a grievance with Consumer Affairs contractors licensing board. We will be very detailed in our complaints.

I signed my contract on May 7 2004. The contract stipulated a "completion of pool in 59 business days from excavation" It is now December 10 2004 and they have not completed the project! Jerry Kramer, Office Manager, has blamed it on the price of concrete, the price of gasoline...truth is, they don't have any intention of honoring their contractural obligations. We as customers are nothing but a bank account to them. Of course, they believe that they have the right to demand the Homeowner's contractural obligations.

The project has been mired in incompetence and unethical busniess practices from the beginning. Fist major screw up was the plumbing crew leaving my gas meter disconnected and leaking gas on June 30th - just in time for the fireworks over July 4th weekend. The Long Beach Emergency crews came in and documented the whole thing. Blue Haven doesn't care. They've left the 3 foot hole trench with exposed gas line on the side of my house since 6/04.

Then came a 12 week abandonment of project to get to the concrete. During this whole time they have left standing water and other construction mess is the gunite hole in my backyard - which compounds the fact that I live in a 'West Nile Virus Impact Zone'!. Just this past Monday I finally put my foot down and told them I would not be sending them the cashier's check until I heard from the Plastering Company that I had been scheduled for Plaster ( final step ). Jerry Kramer assured me I had been released for Plaster, as did my Project Coordinator Jen. I said, great - as soon as I hear from the Jeff Kerber Plaster Co I would go to the Post Office and send the Cashier's Check.

I got a call yesterday from Kerber saying I was scheduled for today! Miracle. On the way to the Post Office I called to verify what time, and lo and behold, there was no appointment! Blue Haven actually got an employee from the Plastering company to call me at my home and LIE TO ME. This is who you are dealing with when you sign on with this Blue Haven Pools. I've gone to the Ca State License Board who are basically useless in this. I copied the CSLB complaint to the CEO of Blue Haven - Billy Eidsman. No response, no call. Nothing. BUYER BEWARE.

I can't get Blue Haven to repair our leaking ($37,000) pool in a timely manner. The leakage is damaging my property and my neighbor's property. Blue Haven keeps making promises, but I've caught them lying about what they've done. They've accomplished very little towards locating the leak. The location seems obvious, as water was bubling from a location near one of the discharge pipes. However, Blue Haven just doesn't seem to want to fix it.

The most unethical and lying bunch of people I have come across doing business with in 30 years. They will not keep to anything their salespeople promise. If you ever plan to build a pool, please save yourself a lot of headaches and do not pick Blue Haven Pools. Their brochure may look glamorous, but their actual performance stinks. They came up with the most pathetic excuses why they could not meet the start of construction that was guaranteed contractually. 4 weeks after excavation of the pool, I am still looking at a big hole in my backyard and listening to feeble excuses from Blue Haven why they can't continue.

I contracted for a pool in Dec. 12,1998. with Blue Haven Pools Inc. I was promised by John C., the salesperson, that the pool would be constructed within 30 days from the day the dig began. I was advised that the majority of the work can be done in 3 days.

I contacted Rachel the scheduler. I advised her that all the trees that needed to be cut down were removed the week before Christmas. She advised the ground had begun to harden and they couldn't start the dig. I called again in Feb. several times, it was still hard. Supposedly. I continued to call in March specifically the week of 3/8th. I wanted to get the dig scheduled prior to leaving for Florida for vacation 3/26th.

Rachel said she would try to get them out the week of the 15th of March. She called back and said it would be pushed back till the 23rd of March. On the 23rd she stated it would be pushed back to 3/24, then she called and said the 25th. We discussed if they excavated on the 25th I would need to make a 40% deposit, the steeling could be done on the 26th and the concrete could be poured that I didn't have to be home for it.

I called her on the 26th, no one showed and since these people refuse to let people know status reports it was up to me to call to get info because they were just too busy or they forgot. I spoke with Rachel and requested that when I return 4/10 I would like to have the dig begin.

I asked that she schedule me so in case it rains and I get pushed back a day I will take off Monday the 4/12/99. I called her from Florida for an update, she said it was raining on Friday the 9th and all work would be pushed back so I would have to wait until the 13th. She called me on 13th and said the excavator broke something on his bulldozer and would not be out until the 15th because he needed the 14th to get it fixed.

The 15th they showed up they would not begin the job until they had a check for 40% of the pool building charges. I was told I needed to pay them $11,860. I did only then to know that I should have only given them $11,464.

They began to dig but stopped at 2:00pm claiming that the dump was only open until 2. I sat with 3/4 of a hole dug for 2 weeks. The claimed the ground was too wet. I have marked down the days when it was raining and the clear days and temps. I had 3 days of rain between 4/15/99 and 4/28/99 when they finally came out to complete the dig. The 29th, another contractor came out to hook up the pump and heater.

I had flipped the pool from one side of the yard to the other, assuming that since all the equipment is closer to the house I would actually save money. I was wrong. I had to pay an additional $105.40.

The steel guys came out to pre set up 5-2-99 for 1hr. they then came out on 5/4 to complete steel work. The inspector came out on 5/5 . The concrete was shot on 5/13. It rained once on the 8th. All other days were clear and sunny. Remember the contract says this will be completed within 30 days weather permitting.

The electricians of course are sent out on a day that it is supposed to rain. They will not start the job unless we pay upfront. I was quoted $1,526. with 170 feet of electrical footage. I flipped that pool and placed the equipment 13 feet from my house instead of 50 feet away and I still ended up with 79 addional. feet of footage plus I am told that the salesman John C. forgot to add the charge to install the ozonator in the pricing for electrical connection.

I pay the check of $1,988.53, -- 400+ over original quoted contracted price, because if I don't they'll leave. I had a call into Ray trying to get him to call to get this corrected so the electricians can begin. He never calls back, The guys take my check, begin to trench and it starts to pour. They leave with my check. They reschedule for the 24th of May. They work and then hit a water pipe. They can't come back until after that is fixed.

We call Blue Haven and RDS the plumber on 24th he doesn't show up until the 27th it takes him 45 minutes to fix it. I was promised they would come out as soon as it was fixed. They show up on 5/30 to complete all outside work they can. In the process the electricians curse out my neighbor, because she told them at 7am to stop screaming at the top of their lungs.

The police even rode by Sunday morning because other neighbors complained.

I was not home I was away and no one told me this till I returned. I contacted Scott the owner of K&S Electric , he said he would take care of it. I contacted Blue Haven , Ray said he would check it out. I spoke with John C. and so did my husband. He said he couldn't believe it. My husband and him had words.

The electrician said he would come out at night to complete the work, now he says after the decking is poured. The tile and coping was done on the 29th of May. they were supposed to come out the 27th, no show, no phone call, until I called they were supposed to finish up a job on the 27th and come out later that day, they didn't , then the 28th, they didn't, (I stayed home from work each time to make sure) Tile and coping completed 29th.

I contacted Ray C. and reiterated my total dissatisfaction with this whole operation. I don't understand how these companies can get away with the total disregard of business ethics and the customer is totally at their mercy. I am sorry to have taken up so much of your time I am at the end of my rope.

I know I am not alone and I bet if you contacted all of BHP customers you would get a mouthful from each one of the customers because my experience with calling and trying to discuss issues with Ray or anyone there is they have irate customers calling on a daily basis. They recently just concreted someone's decking. His pool has been sitting since Sept 98 and he used to be Ray's best friend.
