Ajay designed and built my extension with a deadline for my daughter's party. They worked everyday and finished a week ahead of schedule. I could not believe how clean and friendly all the workers were in taking care of my house. We are so glad we chose you and your design build services. They met all their promises even getting my permit fast. I'm very impressed! With the new windows and siding, I feel like I live in a new house. Congratulations to Bill and all at Ajay for being awarded Contractor of the Year!
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Ajay did a great job designing and building my kitchen. The design process was easy and the cabinet selection was perfect. The men are all very clean and polite. They stopped by everyday to meet with me and explain the progress and schedule.
My worries about removing my bearing wall was put to ease and my kitchen was finished in 2 weeks. I found their price and service unbelievable. I highly recommend the entire staff at Ajay!

We selected Ajay Contracting to do our one family to two family home improvement project. After we agreed on a price and signed the contract, they requested a few meetings to go over the specifics of the project. Every meeting resulted in items they were not doing, such as providing a construction fence, painting, finished floors, finished basement, drywall, etc. These were all to be included per the plans and prior discussions. They also repeatedly asked us for money when this was going to be a $203k bank loan and they knew they were in breach of contract if they ask or receive money from us directly. They pressured us on every meeting to sign their "no charge" change work orders. We always felt pressured when we meet with them. They also spoke to us unprofessionally a few times.
We felt very intimidated when they yelled and had us in their office. We finally received the approval from the DOB to pull the permits. We pulled three of them around the time we asked Ajay to rework their quote because of all of the "extras". Ajay was supposed to let me know why the project had so many extras/no included items. At this time, we were very frustrated and concerned Ajay could complete the job to our satisfaction. We addressed this on a call, Tony started yelling at me over the phone and threatened to put restrictions on the permits we had pulled if he physically didn't have them. That call made me cancel the job with Ajay General Contracting officially by sending him a certified letter on 2/5/10. They never did any work on our property at any point.
Since then, we found a new contractor and have been working on getting him validated with our bank. A week ago, we received a "stop work" letter and posting from the DOB. This was the threat Ajay made to me over the phone. My understanding is that Ajay wrote a letter to the DOB stating we had some sort of violation to put the stop work and delay my project. As of today, it appears to be working since we now have to complete paperwork for the DOB stating there was no work done, we had to take pictures and write a notarized letter to get our new permits. Ajay General Contracting has acted very unprofessional by yelling at us, telling us items were not included in the price to get more money and writing a false letter to the DOB to delay the job due to a "stop work" issuance.
They claimed they had approximately $6000 work of fees due to them for this project. This was never the case. I gave them a $50.00 deposit and $1000.00 I promised them verbally since all I had given them was $50.00. The $1000.00 was sent with the cancellation letter. I've also had fees with the DOB to change the permits, my architect to go back and forth to the DOB because of these false accusations. We have had many sleepless night fearing a lawsuit, more expenses, a lien on the house and not closing our bank loan because of them. We need justice. They cannot get away with writing false accusations and making this process a nightmare because they're unhappy we took this job away.

I hired Ajay General Contractors in March of 2003 to finish my basement. It wasn't until the project began (and I already given them money) that I realized how difficult these people were to deal with and how dishonest and crooked they actually are. I will only give them credit for being good salespeople because they certainly fooled both my husband and I into believing that they were professionals and concerned about their clients. Not only is this establishment filled with unehtical salespeople (namely Bill, Tony and Dave), but to say that I am disappointed with the workmanship would be a severe understatement.
The foreman on the job, Steve, seemed at first to have ample experience when we spoke with him, however the entire job is completely unacceptable from the cracked tiles, unlevel floors, sloppy spackling, and doors that do not operate properly. It is because of Ajay General Contractors that I have lost all hope that there is anyone left out there that not only is honest, but takes pride in their workmanship. It's infortunate, but I guess this is the world we live in today.
Since the job was completed I have called several times to have someone come back and correct at least some of the sloppy work that was done but I have not received a return phone call. I believe their degree of customer care can be measured in that statement alone. The reality of it is, now that they have all of my money, I am at their mercywhich they are aware of and they probably not strand by their initial word of "bumper-to-bumper" for a year. I feel that I have been taken by these people and I do not want this to happen to any other unsuspecting person interested in home improvement (which is stressful enough without a terrible contractor on top of it).
I also do not want Ajay General Contractors to benefit monetarliy anymore without holding down theier part of the bargain. To put it simply they are lying, cheating, unprofessional, incompetent people and do not deserve to be in business.
