Power Cord Recall

Rob of Hampton VA (04/01/08)
I bought a XBOX 360 last Feb. from Game Stop and was told that I had a 3 year warranty to go along with it. Well, it's one year and one month later and all of a sudden, my XBOX stops working. I call the customer service number that it is telling me to call (in India) and I am told that my system is out of warranty. I'm told that they only have the 3 year warranty for a certain error message. Not the one that I am having and they would be more than happy to fix my XBOX for 100 dollars. After going around and around with Shirr, I hung up and called the Game Stop that I purchased the system from. They told me, "Well that's what XBOX told us." And they would buy the broken 360 back for 50 dollars. Am I the only one that thinks that this is a bad deal? If I would have been told that the warranty was for only one year then odds are I would have purchased the extra coverage. So what do I do now? Pay the 100 dollars to get it fixed or let hundreds of dollars of games and equipment sit on the shelf and collect dust?

Went to turn on my Xbox 360 to play it and saw red lights. It will not turn on and will only show red.

My husband was a truck driver and out on the road for up to 21 days, he bought this xbox 360 so that I would have something to do while he was gone. Since then we are currently taking care of my mom who has Alzheimers and the Xbox 360 is my time to get away from the stress of the day. This machine cost over 500.00 with tax and should last a few years, that's what the guy said when we bought it.

Red lights on my son's xbox will not operate. This was only a month old. We paid 500 for the bundle plus games that cost 50-60. Rude customer service! They simply do not care.

First the cost and the rude customer service and we still do not have the xbox.

In 2005, we received an Xbox 360 for a gift. I see that there was a power cord recall, but cannot get any information about it. When I turn on the 360, there is one flashing red light. I went to troubleshooting at support, and it suggests I plug the unit into another outlet in the house, which I did. I believe the problem is with the cord. Thank you.

I have owned an Xbox 360 Elite for 3 months and got 3 flashing red lights. I called Xbox 360 customer service. They agreed to repair the unit. I'm in the military; I live overseas at an American base. They told me they couldn't send a free replacement box for the Xbox 360. Also, that if I sent the unit in, they wouldn't send it back unless I had the replacement box they sent me. My only address is my Military address. They said it wasn't their problem, and that I would have to get a real American address.

My major concern are the several thousands of Xbox units sold on my post alone. Many have complained about the poor customer service for Xbox 360 return service. Many just buy another unit because they simply can't return the product as specified by the manufacture.

I'm out a 400 Elite Xbox 360 unit, 120 wifi card, and 60 xbox 360 controller.
