Justin of Trafalgar, IN October 15, 2009

I got an Xbox 360 elite on Christmas of 2007. In June of 2008 my disc drive quite working. Microsoft said "since i still have a warranty they will fix the problem. which they did, for a while. Just of May this year my elite AGAIN quit reading discs. It was Not Because I keep my Elite poorly ventilated or i keep poor care of my games. So i called Customer Services. Which now they have a computer doing the talking. So i kept saying assistance and i finally got to talk to a real person.

So since my Warranty currently ran up, they were going to make me spend 100 or so dollars just to send it out and fix the problem they were suppose to fix before? At first i started arguing with them saying "not even a year ago i sent my xbox into you guys to fix it, and you guys didnt extend my warranty? i was so confused and P/Oed. so finally I talked to them about the red ring and apparently now they fix xbox's with a red ring for free. which to this day makes no since to me.

I Still haven't sent my xbox into Microsoft. But knowing the fact that even when your warranty is expired you can easily fry your xbox to get the red rings and they will fix it for free. so to all of you people who have the same problem i do. theres a quick fixation. and if your not satisfied with that then i would recommend to get a new console cause they are built better.

i bought my brother an xbox360 in 07 and have had it repaired last year. this is the second time it has had the 3 rings problem. this is rediculous, for the amount of money it costs to buy the damned thing, it should work. especially after having it repaired. why wont anyone do something? is everyone going to sit around and let this corporate vampire take advantage of loyal customers? when i try to contact the repair center to get it repaired again there is always some kind of problem with live accounts and the state/province tab on the web site, and i wont even tell you about the phone calls i made. they do not know what they are doing.this is not fair to pay so much for a piece of faulty equipment.

Matthew of Staten Island, NY October 14, 2009

I tried calling about thier faultly drive in my xbox360 and all i got was a machine and no person at all. I know they are a huge company but for higher level techincal support you need a person and the fact that they dont have a person does not help people in need of higher level techinical support.

They did not help me at all. They just made me angrier and i will never buy another microsoft product for as long as i live.

I now have to find a place to repair it and i have to pay for the parts which are very expensive.

I have never had a worse customer service experience than dealing with xbox live support. Starting in Nov 2008 I was paying 7.99 a month for xbox live. In March 2009 I paid 49.99 for a gold membership, however, the 7.99 charges continued to be billed to my account. I didn't catch these charges until September, which was my fault. Once I caught them I called Microsoft at which point they said there is nothing they can do about the charges other than cancel my account. Which I think is ridiculous because I double paid for xbox live and they refused to refund the monthly charges. Then in October (this month) I was charged 7.99 AGAIN! I called them up and they tried to tell me that you get billed for xbox live the month AFTER you use it, like its a cellphone bill. I know this is BS because I paid 7.99 when I opened the account. So are they saying they actually charge you 15.98 for the first month, then 7.99 after that? After switching over from Apple and Sony products to Microsoft, I will soon be switching my loyalty back to Apple and Sony. I've already sold my xbox for a PS3. I will NEVER do business with Microsoft again. I cannot believe a such a large company would throw away a loyal customer over a 7.99 charge.

My Xbox 360 just stopped working after i played it for 5 minutes and then it would not work again. It gave me 2 red lights. It is broked and im out 300 some odd dollars.

danny of conover, NC October 12, 2009

well the problem started 2 yrs. ago when i purchased the xbox 360. couple days ago my xbox 360 experienced the rrod. i sent the console back to texas for repairs. packaged the console the way microsoft told me to do so, and then some! not a scratch or flaw on the console whatsoever when it left my residence. guess what? after i received the console back after 2 weeks, i opened the box, nothing but pieces laying inside! i tried speaking to them by phone, that was a joke!

also fail to mention that the "TAMPERING TAPE" was also pulled loose. they tried to blame this on ups. anyway, the console was broken by PULLING the console apart, not by being CRUSHED. i know theres nothing i can do about this situation, im hoping to see this problem on my local news. someday. i wish i knew where bill gates lived, i would throw this in his front yard. anyone want to buy some xbox games? cheap! next time i see someone with an xbox console at walmart, i will have a talk with them.

Purchased a XBox 360 about two years ago. I have always taken care of the system and just the other day, I got the dreaded "Red Ring of Death" on it. Nothing that I have done has resolved this. The only thing that can be done now is having to contact Microsoft and get a RMA. Then purchase a box and pay for shipping. And of course, I bought the system BRAND NEW but at Microsoft's option, they can send me back a REFURBISHED system. I DO NOT want a system that others have used!!!!

Jared of Norfolk, VA October 2, 2009

When i bought the system it was 300 ive had to return it to them twice for repairs at over 100 a pop! it just happened again! their is no site online that i found where you can tell them directly about the piss poor product they put out. I was a hugh Xbox fan, but after this last time I will never buy the product again. the customer service was horrible on top of the system, I was on the phone for over a hour and got disconnected a few times, completely dissapointed!!!

Chris of Murfreesboro, TN October 1, 2009

After my wife surprised me with my Xbox 360, within the year I encountered the 3 rings of death or whatever they call the error. I find it hard to believe - with the money she spent on the unit - that it isn't meant to last more than a year. My nephew told me that there was some sort of recall, but all I could find was a petition.

As someone who works a labor job 60 hours per week, I don't have a lot of recreational options. I really feel that having my Xbox 360 to play enabled me to relieve some of the stress I experience from my job, so that I could relax and further enjoy the time I spend with my wife and little girl. Though I can imagine that Microsoft is so big they could care less about a guy like me, but I wish they would do the honorable thing and get these faulty units off the market and give people the true value of their 300 or 400 - especially in these economic times.

Lauri of Lake Charles, LA September 30, 2009

My son was playing on XBOX Live when one of the persons he was playing with stated she was getting off and wouldn't be getting back on. When they asked her why, she stated because of suicide. They tried to talk her out of it giving her reasons such as she needed to think about her family, etc. and then she was gone (offline). He told me that he was concerned about this person and gave me her gamer tag. This is the only information he had about her. I called XBOX Live Support and after giving all kinds of information was connected to a 'Resolutions Specialist'. This 'specialist' informed me that there was nothing they could do and that if I was concerned about this person committing suicide, I would have to contact law enforcement and they would have to contact XBOX Live Support so they could be given a 'hotline' number to call.

When asked why they just didn't give me the 'hotline' number to give to authorities or call authorities themselves with the information on the person making the threat (only Microsoft knows who this person is), she said their policy was only to give out the hotline to authorities. I told the person valuable time could be being wasted; that I had already been on hold for quite a long time to get through to speak to someone. She repeated several times that this is Microsoft's policy. I told her that as human beings, common sense would dictate that I be given the correct number to give to law enforcement, not one that would require for them to hold just to be routed through several people to be given yet another number.

Unfortunately, Microsoft's policy is simply to hire people that can't think for themselves and are ill equipped to handle any type of crisis. For all the millions spent by consumers on Microsoft products, I am incredibly disappointed that they handled this possible emergency situation so poorly. I did contact local law authorities and gave them this person's gamer tag and the Technical Support hotline so they could 'get in line' and wait, along with all the others waiting on technical tips, to get their hotline number so they could call this 'hotline' and hopefully save a life. I hope and pray for the safety of this young girl, but know if all is well, Microsoft and their inability to think or act didn't do her any favors.
