Teri of Huntsville, AL September 25, 2009 I tried to send in my console for repair. This was the second time I needed repair for the Xbox 360 console ( 3 flashing red lights) Online attempts failed and I called on 5 or 6 separate occasions. Agents continued to say "systems were down." They were reading from a script, and my issue was never resolved. I researched online and found a huge number of people who had been mistreated as well.I just wanted to report the incident so maybe it wouldn't happen to anyone else. Albert of East Windsor, CT September 21, 2009 I'm in my mid 40's and play 360 for alittle r&r, This F-bomb 360 and my prior standard F-bomb x-box always broke when a new one came out. not to mention wouldn't even play nascar 09 even after i purchased 3 of them. coincidence or not, i think not, i think that cheap sob plans this regardless to how much you play. i think Bill Gates & staff are a bunch of muniplative losers, and probably think morale vaues are something that can be purchased. Well Bill I,m not selling nor am i going to purchase anything you make anymore. As things break, which i'm sure they will, i'm switching to mac. Joyce of Canton, OH September 19, 2009 My son's XBOX 360 is going back for now, if I'm not mistaken, the 6th time in approx 18 months. The last repair was in April of 2009. At the time of that repair I was told I would need to purchase an additional year's worth of warranty so after all of the costs associated with the purchase of the XBOX 360, accessories, additional warranties, games, etc it almost seems like Microsoft has had the product in repair more than my son has had it to play on. And to add insult to injury when you call customer service you can't get past a supervisor because they state that their managers do not take calls. What exactly do their managers do?? I couldn't even get the address for a coporate complaint department (not that I hold out any hope that it would do any good) because, per the supervisor I was talking to, they don't have access to that type of information. I'm not sure what type of sense of humor Microsoft has to consider this "customer service" but this has to have been the MOST frustrating purchase of my life. And that's not counting the hours of time spent on the phone for walk throughs on repairs (like I'm not an expert by now!). I'm so disgusted that I honestly don't know that I'll ever shop for Microsoft products if I can help it! Oh wait, I also forget to tell you that Microsoft, tells me that of the 6 or so times this XBOX 360 has had to be sent back for repairs......they only have two times on record. The supervisor I talked to claims that they have no record of any repairs between December 2007 and April 2009. What a crock!!! Especially since the supervisor I talked to in April had given me the dates of all of the repairs (yes, I despair from not having kept THAT sheet of paper!). I think it's beyond sad that a company the size and worth of Microsoft is unwilling to provide a product that works, support should that product break down, and customer service that truly satisfies. Ladena of Grants Pass, OR September 19, 2009 My best friend and I both own an X-Box 360 we've had them for a little under 3yrs. I personally(Ladena) have had to send in our X-box twice to be fixed, I am still waiting for it to be returned. My best friend Jessica's X-Box needs to be repaired, although she does not have a warantee, hers has what has been know as the "red ring of death", her kids can't even play on it. We spent so much money for this product, and it has turned out to be complete junk. It's not fair, the company should either refund us or give us machines that won't break all of the time. Kids beg for these X-Box's for Christmas, and then they get their hearts broken when they break, and they can't even play the games that we pay so much money for. Chris of Cerritos, CA September 15, 2009 I've had my Xbox 360 in for repair for the 3rd time now. Each of which have been for the same reason. I've researched this problem and found that there are millions of consumers with the same problems. MARIE of HAWTHORNE, NY September 12, 2009 My son purchased Xbox 360 April 2007 & spent close to 500 for console, game & tax. Within the first year it stopped working (red ring of death). Microsoft replaces the unit with a refurbished unit which was annoying because my son's original was in mint condition. There were small scratches on the refurbished unit. Now, a year later, the console destroyed one game & now is not working (red ring of death again). Now Microsoft wants 100-120 to fix the unit. I think it is unfair to expect anyone to pay 100+ & it only last a year. This is not a disposable item! It is too expensive to be disposable. THE TOTAL AMOUNT SPENT ON XBOX & accessories is close to 1000 CONSOLE-399 ADDITIONAL CONTROLLER 50 WIRELESS MIKE 60 MIKE 30 (WHICH BROKE) 6 GAMES @60 =360 2 CHARGING SYSTEM-GIFT ABOUT 1000+ TAX WAS SPENT ON THIS SYSTEM & WE CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE IT. Shawn of oakland, KY September 7, 2009 on holf over an hour with schreeching sounds and a voice recorded offer more services Had xbox 360 repaired awhile back and some of the downloaded games wouldnt play when i got it back had to do a licence recovery ( your allowed 1 in a 12 month ) well console broke again and when i got it back same thing wouldnt play downloaded content ??? cant to licsence transer cause its been less than a year . after staying on hold for over a hour they said we couldnt i had to wait the rest of teh time. thats not rigth its over 200 of credit and downloaded i cant use. the superviser was very rude and wouldnt give me his name. and teh first guy changed his name everytime he took me off hold. yet was same person. i have 2 xbox 360s and can only play the xbox content ONLINE not offline so when your suppose top be able to play it while offline. Teresa of Bunker Hill, WV September 5, 2009 I am writing to complain about the microsoft product xbox 360. I am writing because I am angry. I am so tired of this inferior product. This is the second xbox in two years. The first one got the ring of death and the company was wonderful about it because it was a manufacturer defect. The sent a replacement and now in less than a year this one has quite working also. I am sick of this. We called tech support and they say there is nothing I can do because I did not buy the extended warranty. I was not offered an extended warranty I assumed that the warranty would start new because this was a new xbox. They are now telling me that the warranty was good for only one year and started with the one that got the ring of death. How can I warranty a product when I was not told this purchase was necessary. As of right now my son probably, or I should say I bought all the accessories and games with a grand total of about 1900.00. 1900.00 for a system that will not work more than a 8 months. What is a average person suppose to do? People cannot keep buying these items, it was not suppose to be a disposable item. I could see if he took it with him from place to place as I have seen some kids do but this system stays in a dry climate controlled room, dusted, never moved, new tv and taken care. It works one day and then next it quits. Tech support says we cannot do anything for you. You must send it back and we will charge you a repair fee of at least 100.00 to repair it and we could give you an extended warranty of the repair. Why did I not get the warranty on the new unit replacing the one the went bad due to a product defect. Tell what should I do. I think because this is a new unit and replacing one that was defective I should not have to pay for a repair on a unit that is less than one year old. If they can give me a year warranty on the repair of this unit why could they have not put a new warranty on this unit that replaced the one that quit because they did not build it right. I was never told that the warranty began and ended with the original unit. That is a load of crap. The replacement was new and the warranty should have began again. I know this a terrible letter but I am tired of being taken for a ride by this company. I think they are building bad products that do not last so people will have to keep putting money into them. We are now in a situation. We have all these expensive games and accessories and no system once again. My son still has his Nintendo 64, Gamecube, first gameboy and they all still work. But microsoft does not seem to get it right. Robert of Citrus Heights, CA September 2, 2009 Purchased a Xbox 360 in the summer of 06 with high school graduation money, after 2 years, RROD sporadically, then nothing. Now about 3 years and 3 months RROD for no apparent reason. Adam of Cobourg, ON August 31, 2009 I have purchased an Xbox 360 and have been regretting that decision ever since. My first console died 10 months after I bought it and that has been my longest lived console. I have had 7 replacements 8 over all and not one has lived for even a year. Every time I send in the console for breaking down they ship me another poorly refurbished console that simply breaks again. They have been completelly unhelpful and when I asked for a new one they have said to me that there warranty policy does not allow that. However there warranty policy does allow it. I point that out to them but they still simply say like a broken record that they cant. I am really tired of this and MS is being basically a corporate bully. I thought there was supposed to be a no lemon law where if you have 3 repairs you get a new product. Report Your Experience
