I purchased a Sony bdp360 Blu-ray disk player, and it won't play certain Blu-ray disks. I updated their latest software version, and it still doesn't work and freezes certain disks as well. I spoke with the tech support and customer relations, and they said they would do nothing to repair or replace without further expense on my behalf. This is just wrong for such a big corporation to just ignore its consumers.

I purchased a Sony Blu-ray player and it worked great for the first 6 months. I then did a firmware update and the player showed "invalid" for any Blu-ray discs. I called customer support and after an hour of troubleshooting they said to wait until the next update and that should fix the problem. They could not give me an answer as to when or how frequently updates would happen. I kept waiting for the next update, which never happened, and eventually the player stopped playing DVDs as well. The time for the warranty has now passed and even though their customer support team had instructed me to wait for an update, they refuse to offer any repair service without charging $140 minimum.

I just purchased a Blu-ray Disc/DVD Home Theatre System model BDV-HZ970W. Also, I purchased install. The website description clearly states "wireless rear speakers". Sony in-home installer told me that he has to run wires so I showed him the website and he said, "better call them". In the meantime, he keeps trying to figure out the system. After 2 hours dealing with tech support, then customer relations (in-home tech continued to work and figured out the rear speakers are wired to a 2nd amplifier, which is connected wirelessly to main amplifier). Finally, a 3rd tech on the phone confirmed what my in-home tech has figured out. The speakers are not wireless. The two amplifiers connect wirelessly. The Sony in-home installer arrived at my house at 11:00AM and didn't leave till 4:30PM.
Within the last month, I had purchased new Sony TV which Best Buy geek squad installed and the new DirecTV home system, installed by DirecTV. This Sony system was replacing an existing surround system, so all cables and wires were already in place. All that was required with this "wireless" system was to hook it up. I had to talk to three people to find out the web info is misleading, even Sony tech and customer relations didn't get that the amplifier was wireless, not the speakers.

This complaint is about Sony PS3 or blue rays players in general Sony top notch development has been out for some years and nothing but trouble in the last 4 years. I have bought 3 play stations 3 and a blue ray player and all died after a year warranty. This is a pile of crap. The only thing Sony has to say is that is what happens with new electronics and charge unreasonable amount to fix these systems.
It is cheaper to buy a PS3 or blue ray player, then have a technician even look at it, just to say it is the consumers fault. How can Sony keep selling stuff that breaks with out consequences. I am not the only one out there that have these problems. Sony should be made to buy back systems so they know what its like buying a piece of crap 3 times for 600 bucks.
The new blue ray technology they boast about does not work, yet, they still sell it and made more bigger models instead of focusing on what they are doing wrong with the others. Their slogan is it only does every thing but does nothing, that is false advertising if you ask me. So, somebody please make Sony stop selling crap.

I purchased a Sony BDP S350 some 10 months ago. It will not play latest release Blu Ray discs. Long useless conversations with Sony customer service confirmed that this is so. They will have a firmware update some time in the future, but will not say when. Th store "Best Buy" sold me the machine with a one year manufacturer's guarantee. We cannot play discs as portrayed.
