I have a 19" Polaroid LCD flat panel TV with built-in DVD that is only 5 months old and today, it just stopped working! I press the power button and nothing happens; the red light never switches to a blue color and it just never turns on. I have unplugged it and left it unplugged for several hours and nothing works. How can a TV only work for 5 months! What a piece of junk!

Horrible product ($700 flat screen TV with DVD player)! The DVD player started acting up a year ago. Last week, there's black screen. I turned it off and waited a few seconds and then turned it back on. Guess what? The logo came up and then faded to black screen. Great sound, though. I am so GLAD Walmart sells this crap and refuses to back it up after the extended warranty expired - coincidentally one week afterwards! I knew I was going out on the edge here on the purchase, but it came on a TV and player in one. It was too good to be true. After reading all the comments on here, it is unplugged and sitting in the original box. I hope there is a class action suit against Polaroid and Walmart.
Our 15" flat screen TV suddenly went to a black screen like everyone else's. The sound is fine and the picture is good when we first turn it on for about a minute - then, the screen is black. This is very disappointing for a TV that is three to four years old.

My Polaroid 32" TDA 03211C television caught fire! Thank God I was home and no one was hurt! On April 28, I was watching TV when all of a sudden the screen went black then came back on after a few seconds later. Then it did the same thing again and I started smelling something burning. I looked up and thick black smoke is pouring out the top of the TV and you can hear popping/sizzling noises (it reminded me of a campfire). I screamed for my husband who ran in and unplugged the TV from the back. I couldn't sleep the next few days because I was scared something might catch on fire. So I spent $120 for an electrician to come and check my electric sockets in my house to give me peace of mind. They said everything was perfect and it must have been the TV. That was when I did some research on the Polaroid TVs and found tons of complaints just like mine.

I was watching my TV on a Saturday morning and the picture went black. The TV started popping and sounded like it was sizzling and then lots of smoke came out the back. The TV went up in smoke.
I turned on the flat screen TV, the Polaroid logo came on and then a black screen. Never another picture. Sound is okay.

The screen of my Polaroid 32" TV went black but had sound. After reading all the complaints on this TV, I feel Polaroid should make good on their TVs. If you have one, you should be able to bring it to Wal-Mart and get a replacement of another brand because Polaroid sucks.

We purchased a 32 inch Polaroid TV, model 03211c, with DVD player. Within the 1st month, the DVD player quit working. I took it back to Wal-Mart and they exchanged it. It died again after minimal use over four months. The TV was fine for awhile, then the picture screen went black but sound was fine. How many faulty TVs did Polaroid dump on the public? The good thing about this TV is it didn't smoke like so many others. I'll take any help I can get to get money for this junk and get another brand of TV.

I own a TLX - 03210B Polaroid flat screen. My daughter and I were cuddled watching television and the television just started smoking. My daughter started yelling and I ran to unplug it as I was afraid of an electrical fire (the smell was awful). I had my husband come look at it and when he turned it back on, the Polaroid logo flashed. The sound came on but no picture. He turned it right back off as you could smell something burning. I can only imagine what could have happened if I had not been home with my daughter while she was watching television. This model TV seems to be a fire hazard and a product I should have never purchased. Polaroid needs to do something about this television before someone is seriously injured.

32" Polaroid TLX-03210B TV - I'm just shocked that I walked in today from work and it had sound, but no picture. I turned it on and off more than 5 times and still nothing. So I decided to start looking on the internet to see if there was a troubleshooting guide since there wasn't a troubleshooting list in the manual that came with the TV. I've only had this TV a little over 4 years and it's not working. Seems that it is common practice for Polaroid after reading all of the complaints here. If there is a class action lawsuit, include me in. I'll tell all my friends not to ever buy one.
I purchased a 42-inch HD LCD TV on Black Friday 2008. About a month ago, we started losing half the picture. It just goes black. It started in short spurts, but is now constantly half black. I thought about contacting Polaroid. But after reading all the complaints for the same problem, I think I'll save myself the aggravation. I might try Wal-Mart, but my extended warranty ran out in November. So, I'm not too hopeful.

I purchased a 22" flatscreen TV in November 2011. The TV started blacking out 2 months ago. We would turn it off and turn it back on each time it blacked out. We've moved the plug to a different outlet, and it's the same problem. So I contacted Target today, and I was told I need to go to Polaroid, since the TV is still under the manufacturer's warranty.
I was transferred to Polaroid and spoke to Mike. I had to call back, because I didn't have the model number. So I called back when I had the information, and then I had Nick on the phone. Well, I didn't realize that it was close to 7pm Eastern. So while I was talking to Nick, he hung up on me. I called back because at the time, I thought I had been disconnected.
When I called back, I got the "Office is closed." message. Seriously? I was just talking to Nick a second before. What kind of customer service is that? I don't even want to deal with them, if this is how they treat their customers. They can't stay a few minutes past their schedule to assist someone? I called Target back, and they can't help me either. So I still have a TV that doesn't work.

Condense all the previous posts into a class action and I'm in. DVD went down first. Then, the screen went pixilated on multiple streaks, vertically across the screen. After I looked into the model issues, I was ready for the worst (thanks to this post thread), and it then it happened last night, the screen went black, but the audio was fine - a late night viewing and it recovered enough for me to shut it down proper. Upon restart, it lasted 5-10 seconds each for a round of 2 restarts, then there was a hiss and the smoke appeared on cue. Thank goodness I was awake. Fire hazard? Fully probable. I jumped up and pulled power and all connections - nasty smell too - that was it, $698 down the drain and I had to buy a new unit to replace. If we band together and try to recover, and not let anyone set their house on fire with kids, dogs or parents having to die to bring this to the courts. I'm in, my e-add is attached.
The TV froze on one channel. I unplugged it for hours and then plugged it back in - it's still frozen. I tried to contact customer support by phone and was told to e-mail them. The person who recorded the message could not be understood because he had a strong accent. I tried to access their support e-mail and they wanted to charge $28 for this service - if you want to call it a service. This is outrageous. I will never buy another Polaroid!

I own a TLX - 03210B Polaroid flat screen. It started smoking one night while watching it. I unplugged it to turn it off to prevent a possible fire. I left it off until the next day approximately 16 hours. When I turned it back on, the Polaroid logo flashed on but then turned off after flashing the station twice. Had I not been home while my kids where watching the TV, this could have turned out terrible. This model TV seems to be a fire hazard for anyone who owns one. Polaroid needs to do something about this before something fatal happens. I will be contacting an attorney own my behalf.

I bought it 3 years ago and was happy with it until it started smoking and lost the picture while my grandson was watching it. We're just lucky it didn't start a fire. I will never buy another one.

Three years ago as of this February, I purchased the Polaroid 32 inch flat screen with DVD Player at Walmart in Windham, Maine. I did not smell any smoke, however, my screen went black and now won't do anything. The blue light stays on all the time so I guess the TV won't even shut off. I called Polaroid and they will not return my calls. I have lost all respect and will never purchase anything Polaroid ever again. This is **.

32" Polaroid: On March 25, 2012, it started smoking and fire was coming out of the Polaroid HDTV (model number tlx-03210b). My son jumped up and unplugged it. If we had not been home, I would probably have burned down my house. Date on TV is August 2007, and it was bought on Black Friday 2007.

Polaroid 32" TV model FLM-323B - I received this TV as a gift. After watching a show on the TV, there was no sound. I attempted everything, even contacting the company. No one ever returned the calls or emails. No support and no customer service. Are they recalling this model? Offering their customers help? Is there going to be a suit filed against Polaroid? Something has to be done.

I bought a Polaroid in 2009, and it started messing up around Christmas. But after a minute or so, it would fix itself. Now, it won't fix itself at all. I'm very angry that this TV didn't last long.

As with everyone else on this page, I went in the kitchen to get a drink, came back and the picture was black. This Polaroid 32" TV isn't over 4 years old! The sound was fine until I changed channels. Now I'm fumbling like I have no sight because I can't see the screen, it's all black. I think everyone on this site should get their money back. I was going to set it at the curbside, but I think I'll hold onto it to try and recoup the money I spent on it because now, I got to get a new one!

Just like everyone else on here, my 32-inch Polaroid HDTV displays no picture. The blue on light is on and won't turn off when pushing the button on the side or remote. The TV must be unplugged to get the power off. It happened earlier today and after I unplugged it the TV picture worked again. Now, it's not working again. This TV is just over 4 years old. Can we all file a lawsuit?
I purchased my 32-inch Polaroid TV a little over 4 years ago. Just like other, it was purchased at Walmart in 2008 at Black Friday. I was in another room and came to my bedroom to a very strong smell. I panicked because I wasn't sure if the house was on fire or what. After frantically running through the entire house, I noticed smoke was coming from my TV located in my bedroom and soon noticed the awful burning smell was coming from the TV. I immediately turned the TV off. I waited approximately 2 hours, mind you, scared as ever and attempted to turn the TV back on. The TV barely showed the Polaroid logo, then went to a complete black screen. The sound was okay, but there is no picture. I contacted a TV repairman who said it would cost approximately $150.00 to $200.00 to fix it.
I tried contacting Polaroid yesterday to see if there is any assistance. What I did receive was basically no customer service whatsoever and the rep on the phone knew exactly what the problem was and began to ask me for model number, serial number, name, address and phone to check the pricing on parts to ship so that I can fix their problem. I was furious at this point because when I Googled what happened to my TV, I came across this site and to see so many people with the very same, exact issues. I asked her if I do fix it, what's the likelihood that this will not happen again after replacing? I received silence and was told sometimes electronics fail. Yeah, poorly-made electronics. I also informed the rep of these complaints and class action lawsuit. She basically said, "that Polaroid company filed bankruptcy and this is the new Polaroid". What a bunch of **. This TV could have caught my house on fire. I will never ever buy another Polaroid product in my lifetime.
I've owned a Polaroid brand 32" HDTV for 3 years, purchased at Walmart. While watching it one evening, the screen froze up. The image that was on the TV show at that time is still on my TV. I tried turning the TV off. It won't shut off. I tried unplugging it from the wall and the blue (on light) continues to stay on and the image is still on the TV. The TV won't shut off! Now it's on 24/7 with this image on the screen.

Polaroid 32 inch HDTV, a wedding gift from my late father-in-law. We only used it for three years, one or two times a week. It stopped working just like that. No warning. Nothing. I wish he had given us a rock for a wedding gift. I'd still have that to use for a paper weight.

Sounds no good, I got a foot long black line in the middle of screen and growing. They need to be stopped selling these no good TVs. The problem started about 1 year and half, after I got it. They need to stop selling TVs that they know is no good to anyone. If they don't catch a fire, the sound and picture goes. Stop these people from taking money for an $800 paper weight and ripping people off. How many do they get to sell before someone stops it? I want my hard earned money back now so I can get me a TV I can watch.

Of course, the same old song. I bought the TV from Walmart in Feb 2008. I loved the TV until September of 2011, when I was cooking in the kitchen listening to a show I had on TV. When I came into the living room, the screen was black and the sound was still going. Based on what I've been reading, this is more than a trend. This is the status quo from most everybody on this site. I am really upset about it as is everyone else because I am back to looking at my bubble-back old Panasonic, which this TV replaced. I bought the TV for $699.00 and with tax it was $732.00. I can't get my money back. I was told by a tech Geek that it will cost more than its worth to get it fixed. I am really upset because I cannot afford to buy another TV. So what are we poor suckers supposed to do? If someone knows of how we can get compensated or even get a replacement TV, please let me know. I am just ** out in Georgia.

My husband was watching our 32" Polaroid TV, which we purchased from Wal-Mart, and all of a sudden it turned black and started smoking. He unplugged it--and it finally quit smoking! We'd had problems with the DVD player several times--returning it and having it returned only to quit working a few months later in each case. After reading all the complaints, I can't see how you are still selling them!

I have owned it for 2-3 years. After 6 months, I sent DVD in to be repaired by Polaroid. Polaroid sent back after their repair and it still did not work. Fortunately, I was in the room with the TV gone pop. Smoke came out and TV goes black. I was there to unplug from the wall outlet. I bought it from Wal-Mart. I'm put of TV. I have no money to purchase another one. What about the consumers that help keep their jobs?

The Polaroid television lost the sound on some channels then a few weeks later, it emitted an acid like smell. As of now, we no longer use this television.
