Polaroid DVD

Jennifer of Colona, IL October 26, 2009

I had received a Polaroid 27 inch T.V as a gift less then a year ago and the dvd player in the actually t.v. is making weird noises. The tv itself works except we cant watch it with the loud noises its making. Can you please help!

Norma of Salem, OH October 9, 2009

Contacted Polaroid in May 2009 with a portable DVD player that did not work. Was told that if I pay 85 and sent my broken DVD player back, they would send me a refurbished one (supposed to be at a reduced price of 85). I paid the 85 using debit card and sent my DVD player back but never received the new one. Just found out they were in bankruptcy at the time. Polaroid today told me they are not the company that I delt with.

Karyn of ROCK HILL, SC October 6, 2009

I recently found out about the battery recall for the Polaroid portable DVD player. I called them, then got a RTV to return the battery for a replacement. On 9/8/2009, I sent the battery to them. I traced the package and saw that they received it on 9/9/09. Now, I can't get any response from them whatsoever.

Alicia of Indianapolis, IN January 30, 2008

Purchase a Polaroid GPS/DVD Player 550 from Sam's Club 14 DEC 2006 for 399 + 10% sales tax and 39 extended warranty. In early July stopped working properly contacted tech support went through all types of troubleshooting. Finally told to send in for replacement unit was given an RMA # mailed 27 August 2007 to address given in California (sent Priority Mail) I am in the military acutally was getting moved that day from Augusta, GA to Indianapolis, IN.

After moving contacted via email after Labor Day told they were backed up would contact in about a month regarding replacement. Contacted a month later told needed a tracking number--couldn't find asked to track using RMA # and serial # which is unique to unit. Told no, several times. In November told no more replacements given only refunds as unit is no longer being manufactured. Contacted a manager named Rosalind in early December told she would contact the returns office in California via email; told of course they could track via RMA--(we can't be the only ones without a tracking number) was told she would contact me within 24 hrs. Never been recontacted.

Called 48hrs later told to send in purchase verifcation (receipt from Sam's Club), faxed that day. Called to followup a week later around 12 December 2007 was told refund had been issued I could expect it within 30days. 22 Jan 2008 I contact for followup am told account was closed due to no tracking number. Told Rosalinda never received an answer from her email-over a month and an internal email was never responded to.

I've already purchased another GPS for our drive during our move. Now in a new city both vehicles need a GPS. We spent over 400 for a GPS with a 3yr warranty and didn't use it for a year! They aren't making them anymore, fine but I still need one and would like a refund! I cannot be the only person without a tracking number (which we were unaware was required). Furthermore, it should be tracked by the RMA number specific to our GPS!!

Jen of Waretown, NJ January 27, 2008

I purchase the Polaroid min dvd player for my daughter 3 years ago and after 6 months of using it, the ac adapter/charger would not charge the dvd player unless we ducted taped it or put it in all weird positions to charge it. I chalked it up to an 8 year old fiddling around with it and thought I had learned my lesson as to not let her try to charge it. About a month ago, we took a family vacation and I borrowed my girlfriends mini dvd player, same exact model and everything as the one I purchased, and the same exact thing has happened. I just thought I would report this problem and see if anyone else has experienced the same. We have since bought a new one, not the same brand and have had no problems.

Diane of Staten Island, NY December 17, 2007
