Panasonic Offers Replacement Lamps for Some LCD TVs

Brian of Lorain OH (06/30/08)
On December 17th 2004 I bought a brand new Panasonic PT 43LC14 from Sears for 2500 of my hard earned cash. I even bought the extended warranty. Well the extended warranty just ran out on December 17th 2007. By know you've guessed it. Last night (6/29/2008) my TV did not work. Both Panasonic and Sears told me that I would have to deal with it and they can not do anything for me.

After doing some research I found the same problem with a lamp (TY-LA1000 REPLACEMENT LAMP) that actually caused a settlement with a law firm and Panasonic. Now I have to pay 300 for the lamp, 100 for a service call plus time and labor.

Stress! Money is tight and no way to pay to fix it or buy a new one.

I truly can say what the term means when you purchase a DEAD HORSE. I have a 23 month old Panasonic HDTV Model no. PT-LCX15 which incorporates the famous controversial low life lamp part no.TYLA-1000. I also know what the term, Thrown under the Bus means after I talked to several people representing Panasonic.

I have to purchase a new replacement lamp and then I am getting rid of this TV.
