Kelly of San Antonio, TX July 23, 2009 Bought LT-52144 52" LCD TV last May. Three times now, all at random, the TV has just shut off and the power light starts blinking, as if there had been a power surge. We are in a drought. No storms were occurring here in Texas during each episode. Of course, it is now "just out of warranty." I called the store where I purchased it and the employee acted as if he'd never heard of this problem and proceeds to tell me how much it will cost to "diagnose" the problem. Then I hop online and see that I am not alone and this is not a NEW problem by any means! I feel deceived by Mitsubishi AND Bjorn's. Margarite of Glendale, CA July 14, 2009 In March, 2009, I purchased a Mitsubishi TV with the agreement that it came with a grocery rebate in the amount of 1000. Shortly after my purchase, the company who administers the rebate went bankrupt. However the rebate was offered by Mitsubishi, and they have offered me nothing. Steve of Mouthcard, KY July 10, 2009 Purchased a Mitsubishi WP-73733 in 2008. 1 yr. later same problems with lamp and switching off as everyone else. So if I keep the TV and lamps are all that go bad I'll have spent close to 7 grand. As many people that are having this same problem, where is the class action suit?? Gary of Northridge, CA July 6, 2009 Mitsubishi DLP WD-73831 73in Diamond Series TV…. I purchased my TV in May 2007 for a little over 5000.00, plus the cost of a TV stand for 380.00. The HD picture was beautiful. I was very happy at first, and then all the problems started. First I had a problem with the TV powering on and off, so the place where I purchased the TV Pacific Sales sent out a brand new TV, after about 9 months later the TV went completely black screen, and I learn the internal light bulb went out, cost around 250.00 for a LIGHT BULB. Now the set has ghost/silver images over the entire TV viewing picture which looks terrible, now I'm told I need a new internal motor/engine. The TV is less than 2 years old and is not watched very much except in the evenings and on weekends; and now I need a new over priced engine. After a Mitsubishi recommend repair shop replace the engine, the status light now shuts the TV off every 5-7 minutes because it thinks the TV is over heating. I was told by the repair shop that the new engine that was on back order and took a month to come in and of course it's defective and will need replacing. Oh no, not again, this TV is only 2 years old! This Mitsubishi DLP WD-73831 73in Diamond Series TV is not ready for prime time, and is being sold every day. I've been looking again at TVs, and notice that this TV is now being offered at half the price I paid for it, and I WONDER WHY? It's a defected product that cannot sustain regular usage. PLEASE NOTE: All the Mitsubishi parts are just temporary and will need to be replace on a regular basis at extra-ordinary prices and service fees. If you want to live like that and enjoy lots of drama, then buy a Mitsubishi. Michael of Clearwater, FL June 21, 2009 Purchased CRT Projection WS73513 on 10/06/04 and as of 6/12/09 has been in and out of Jersey Jim repair shop 3-times. Each time green lite flashes & tv won't come on. Contacted Mitsubishi but they refuse to do anything because Jersey Jim told manufacturer that lighting is hitting my tv. The first 2-times it went in the repair shop (J.J.)it failed just 90-days apart. A year later it failed again. I guess lighting can hit the same thing and same place 3-times, even with tv off, unplugged, no damage to anything else but target the same tv out of the other 3 I own. First 2-times tech. says it was the capacitor, 2nd time he says it was the coil and possible lighting. Now i'm beginning to think it's the repairman along with the product. I will NEVER EVER but another Mitsubishi product or purchase anything from Jersey Jim. Lost money counting the 4500 + 3 repairs totals est. @ 6000 Gary of Northridge, CA June 19, 2009 Mitsubishi DLP WD-73831 73in Diamond Series TV. I purchased my TV in May 2007 for a little over 5000.00, plus the cost of a TV stand for 380.00. The HD picture was beautiful. I was very happy at first, and then all the problems started. Now the set has ghost/silver images over the entire TV viewing picture which looks terrible or cartoonish, now I'm told I need a new internal motor/engine. The TV is less than 2 years old and is not watched very much except in the evenings and on weekends; and now I need a new over priced engine. Mitsubishi recommend a repair shop to replace the engine, which I had to wait almost a month to receive because it was on back order. When the engine finally arrived and installed in my TV, the TV start turning itself off automatically every 5-7 minutes because the TV thinks it’s over heating. I was told by the repair shop that the new engine was defective and will need replacing Oh no, not again, this TV is only 2 years old. They sent out another engine, which I paid for a 2 day air delivery. When the second engine arrived and install by the repair shop, it was defective too, and started shutting off the TV every 10 minutes. The repair shop found out that these engines being sent to me was refurbish/rebuilt, and not new. It's now June 19th and I'm still going back and forth with Mitsubishi and GE about my TV problems and the lack of a TV for amount 2 months with no resolution yet. This Mitsubishi DLP WD-73831 73in Diamond Series TV is not ready for prime time, and is being sold every day. I've been looking again at TVs, and notice that this TV is now being offered at half the price I paid for it, and I KNOW WHY? It’s a defected product that cannot sustain regular usage. If you want to live like that and enjoy lots of drama, then buy a Mitsubishi. Sue of Hamilton, OH June 13, 2009 I purchased a Mitsubishi WD5275 in Feb. of 2005 from hhGregg. I also purchased a 5 year extended warranty. GE was the repair servicer but would sub out the repair service to others. I would have to replace the lamp every year sometimes before the year was up. The mirrors went bad so I called hhgregg, they first acted is if they would help me, then when they didn't call back, I kept calling them, they would continue to tell me the manager was on the phone. I called Mitz to see if they could help me, of course they said no and then GE would not help me even though I had purchased a 5 year warranty serviced by them. This all happened in February 2009, finally they agreed to replace the mirrors in my TV. after I told them I had secured an attorney and I was naming everyone. Not to my surprise Mitz no longer made the parts. So GE gave me a check for 1198.00 to purchase a new TV on Tiger.com. I paid 2600.00 for my TV plus the stand that is made for my TV, along with the 5 year warranty, the total costs were about 3500.00. We did purchase a new TV but not a Mitz. I will never buy a Mitz Product again nor will I buy anything from hhGregg or any products GE makes. Someone should make these people responsible for their actions. I have a new TV but lost the last year of my warranty I paid for through hhGregg. Shirley of Eagle Point, OR June 10, 2009 In January, 2005 we purchased a Mitsubishi Projection TV from Larson's Appliance in Medford Or for approximately 3200.00. Shortly before the warranty was up the TV started having many of the same problems I've read in your log regarding Mitsubishi tvs, i.e., frequently shutting down, red/orange light flashing, green light flashing, lines running through the screen, etc. A repairman came out in approximately Dec/Jan of 2006 supposedly fixing it but it has contantly had problems over the years shutting down ever other night and now shuts down a least once a night and even after unplugging it and restarting it, which use to work, we now can't get it to go back on sometimes for hours. After reading the log knowing full well that even if we put money into trying to fix it we will get the same results as everyone else which is pouring money into a tv that can't be fixed so we will take the loss (most we've ever paid for a tv or any appliance) junk this expensive tv and never buy another Mitsubishi product. Friends of ours bought the same tv model we did and have had the same problems so obviously Mitsubishi sells inferior products and knows it! Something needs to be done because these are expensive tv sets that are a luxery item and most of us can ill afford to replace them! JACK of DALLAS, TX June 7, 2009 I purchased a new 73inch TV and built a custom cabinet at a cost of 14,000 and as of today i have spent in excess of 4,ooo to repair the tv. BE SMART DON'T BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM MITSUBISHI ELECTRONICS, BEST YOU TOSS YOUR MONEY IN THE RIVER. I CANT CHANGE TV S SINCE THE CUSTOM CABINET WAS MADE FOR THAT 7327 nancy of Santa Clarita, CA June 7, 2009 Paul's TV advertised with a purchase of certain Mitsubishi TV's and TV stand we would receive 600 in gas rebates through Mitsubishi Electric. However, the company that distributes the 600 gas card is out of business and there is no rebate. I relied on this information when I purchased this TV for 2200.00 believing that I would receive a gas rebate totalling 600. I opened a gas card with Mobil to keep track of my gas totals, however, there is not gas rebate. Report Your Experience
