Consumer Complaints & Reviews

We purchased a 5 year warranty from Ken Cranes on a TV and the Advantage Plan is refusing to honor it stating Ken Cranes never paid them to honor it.

I purchase a 52" LCD Samsung TV on 8/20/08 from Ken Crane. I had purchase an extended warranty for 5 yrs. My TV does not turn on any more so I contacted Ken Crane with regards to my extended warranty and they gave me the number to the warranty Company. When I contact them, they said Ken Crane never sent the extended warranty contract to them and at this time they are not adding anymore contracts. I contacted Ken Crane, they were not able to tell me what happen.

When I asked for a copy of the contract, they sent to the warranty company they couldn't give me one. I asked who has the money I paid for the warranty and they can't tell me. I don't know what to do. I have the receipt with purchase of warranty for five years that I paid Ken Crane. They stole my money. What can I do? It has caused physical and emotional distress due to the fact that I'm so upset that I paid for services and a company can just steal from your face and now I have to pay money out of pocket after I had already done this. All the times that I called this people, the fact that they can't even give me my money back.

I purchased a Mitsubishi 65" Big Screen Television (Model WD65835) from Ken Cranes on July 4, 2009. Invoice 2301-202251. Shortly thereafter I noticed a buzzy/vibrating noise coming from the left side of the television when we were watching TV. Due to our schedule in July and the first part of August I was unable to arrange for a service call until the middle of August.

I called and arraigned for American TV & Video to come out and service the TV on August 25, 2009. I believed it to be an issue with the left side speaker since this is the area the noise was coming from. American TV & Video came out and replaced the left speaker. Unfortunately, I was not able to be home when they performed the work. I check the TV that evening and the vibration noise was still noticeable.

I called them back the next day and explained that the noise was still there. I asked for a return service call and scheduled that for August 28, 2009. This time I met Enrique, from American TV & Video, who is the same serviceman that came out the first time. He explained which speaker he had change and then took the TV apart and checked the TV and found nothing unusual. After putting the TV back together we both heard the vibration noise very clearly. Enrique said there was nothing he could do.

I specifically asked Enrique to put in his report that he heard the noise and there was nothing more HE could do. Unfortunately, Enrique did NOT put the part about hearing the noise in the report. I called Gabriel, who was my salesman at Ken Cranes, on September 11, 2009 and explained where we were the noise issue. He said he would talk to his manager and have him call me.

Tony V., Manager at the Ken Crane's location I purchased the TV from, called me on September 12, 2009. I explained to him what I was hearing, what American TV & Video said. He said he would look into it and get back to me, he never did. I had to call him back after a week to see what he had found out. Tony did make contact with his Mitsubishi sales representative and he said he would see what he could do.

No solutions or option came from Ken Crane other then Tony offered me an upgraded TV since this model was discontinued however I would have to pay the difference. I declined. I have had two different TV repair companies, American TV & Video and Ultimate Audio Video Service, come out and look at the TV and say there is a vibration noise coming from the TV yet Ken Cranes will not do anything for me.
