Akai

sam of palos verdes, CA November 22, 2009

I bought a 52" rear projection Akai DLP model# PT50DL14 3 years ago. A week ago I turned on the TV and the green lamp light flashes for several times and it shuts off. No audio and no picture. I called Akai and a machine says none of our Samsung Reps are available. I called a repairman and he says it will cost 583 to repair. I paid 1799 for this piece of junk.

Albert of Magdalena, NM November 19, 2009

I am inquiring if there are any Class Action Lawsuits pending or contemplated against this company because of their faulty TV products & failure to respond to THOUSANDS of compailants.

Dexter of Richmond, VA November 17, 2009

I purchased a 42in LCD TV from Walmart less than 2 years ago which recently justs stopped working. No TV repair shop works on this model because the parts are unavailable. The parts are discontinued. ILO/Akia are ripping people off.

Steve of Winnebago, IL November 16, 2009

I bought an Akai 27in LCD TV about 3 years ago from Sam's Club. After about 2 years it would no longer turn on. Trying to get any help from Akai customer support has been useless. Researching how to repair it, I see all the comments from people who have the exact same problem. This company has produced a miserably substandard product and should have to compensate the people they have ripped off. Paid about 400.

I purchased a 42in plasma Tv from Curcuit City about 2 years ago which recently justs stopped working. I took the Tv to a repair shop but couldnt get it fixed because the parts were unavailable. The parts are discontinued. Akia is ripping people off. Stealing from consumers.

William of Johnston, RI November 3, 2009

I purchased an AKAI PDP4225M 42" plasma HDTV about 2 1/2 years ago and it turns off by itself and will not turn back on. It does however go on if I unplug it, but only for a few moments. Technical support line no help. This company has no integrity

Rick of Harrison Township, MI November 3, 2009

Had my 27" AKAI for about two years, the power turn off by itself and never came back on. Went on the web site as they recommended, ben waitinging for a response? still waiting. I would like to be part of a class action law suite. Please warn everybody about this brand of TVs, they are cheap and you get what you pay for. TV won't turn on or work for tht matter.

Alicia of Houston , TX November 3, 2009

My AKAI LCD HDTV stopped working approx 5 months after purchase. Since then I have been unable to get AKAI to respond regarding this. My tv has been in the repair shop for over a year. I purchased the tv for approx 569.00 and I am unable to buy another one to replace this one.

Kelly of Tuscaloosa, AL November 2, 2009

Soon after purchasing my TV a blue streak appeared in upper portion of the scree. About 1 yr after purchase it began to be difficult to turn TV on. It would power on for a fraction of a second and then back off. Now it will not turn on at all. It is the Akai 42" LCD. The store will not make good as it was outside their 30 day return policy. The defects are very expensive to repair. I paid cash for the TV and feel like it is a lemon. I feel like Sams or Akai owes me the price of the TV or a replacement.

Ken of Little Rock, AR October 31, 2009

I have been reading about the Akai T.V. Mine is 42 inches we have had it about 3yrs. it went out about 2yrs. ago and we had it repaired. It cost us over 275.00 and it had a blue streak in the picture.Today 10/30/09 it will not turn on. We spent over 1200.00 for this T.V and now it will not turn on. We refuse to spent more money on this junk T.V. The complaints that we have read are all the same and we agree. We need to file a class action suit.
