I bought an Equate SPF 50 Sunscreen for my daughter who is four years old. I covered her from face to toe. My sister also used this product on her son. Kids were playing for about an hour and since it was so hot that day, we covered them again. The next day, my daughter's face, shoulders and chest have severe sunburn and rash. Come to find out, my sister was having the same problem and was about to take my nephew to the emergency room. I will never ever buy your brand of anything again, especially when it comes to my child's safety.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

It looks like there are at least 5 similar complaints on this website regarding Equate's contact lens product! I am a physician, and I've been using Ciba Vision's Clear Care hydrogen peroxide cleaning and disinfecting system for over two years without any problems at all. Recently, due to its lower price, I tried Walmart's generic equivalent, "Equate Cleaning and Disinfecting Lens Care System".
After 20 days of use, the platinum catalyst which converts hydrogen peroxide into pure water must have begun to wear out, and my eyes would burn upon putting in my contact lenses, despite following all of their directions. It is supposed to last at least 30 days. After switching to the other enclosed lens container, it lasted only about 5-10 uses before I was getting severe burning in my eyes. If you have a similar issue, please report this to the FDA through their website using their Medwatch 3500 form. If enough complaints are filed, they will be prompted to investigate them!

The hemorrhoidal cream is fine and at a competitive price. However, it is nearly impossible to removed the foil cap that seals the tube. I've been using this product for price reasons for years, but I am completely unsatisfied with how difficult it is to remove the stupid metallic sealer. Couldn't you include a grabbable tab to facilitate removal? This is clearly the case of a package designer who has never used the product.

I used the Equate brand facial cleansing towelettes the first day and was pleased with how well it removed my make-up. The next day, I used them again and my eyes were very red and irritated. The following day, I woke up to find my eyes were almost swollen shut and my face was burning. I suffered a horrible allergic reaction. I'm not sure what ingredient could have done this, but I suspect it could be the fragrance. Unfortunately, I trusted the label which read "hypoallergenic" and "dermatologist tested".

Not long ago, Wal-Mart changed the formula for their Equate Ultra Strength pain relieving cream. I used the old formula for years. The new formula gives my skin a rash wherever I apply it. From reading the ingredients, it doesn't look like they changed much; however, while the old formula was more of a paste, the new one is more granulated and does not stick to the skin as well. And they had a price increase on it. So not that it is worse, it is more expensive.

I put my lenses in Equate solution overnight. In the morning, I put the lenses in my eyes and felt a slight burning sensation that I thought would subside, but it only got worse as minutes passed. Even after removing the lenses, rinsing my eyes, and applying a cold compress to my eyelids, I was in pain for 4-5 hours. A year prior, I had a similar incident that sent me to the ER while at work. I was told I had bi-lateral abrasions to my corneas. At that time, I assumed that my lenses were dirty, but in retrospect I realize I had used Equate solution on my lenses. After going to the ER, I didn't wear contacts again for almost a year before trying again. My ophthalmologist gave me new contacts and a small bottle of solution, which I used until it was gone. It was not until I bought a bottle of Equate that I had the sensation that I had put Tabasco sauce into my eyes. They should take this solution off of the shelves: it is horrible!

I recently bought Equate brand thin panty liner at my local Wal-Mart since I'm on a tight budget. I decided to try them for the first time since the package displayed a sticker that read "Try me! New and improved liner." However, I was so very dissatisfied when I used them! The liner was clearly not any different than the then the same once from Equate I had been buying before! So why mislead people with the sticker into buying them when their not new and improved? In fact, they even cost more. I paid almost $3 for them and I am now stuck with a product I have no use for and can't even take back because I misplaced the receipt!

The bottom of the tube (Equate denture adhesive) with lot number 11041 busted open and oozed pink denture cream all over my black dress! I was not happy, and this does not come off black dress pants very easily!

My husband and I shopped at Walmart this week. We might consider not returning even though we have, in the past, defended Walmart. The Equate Sleep Aid that we used was (three months ago or maybe four months ago) 96 gel caps (50 mg) and the cost was $4.00. Now, they have cut the amount to 32 gel caps for the same price! What a cut in the amount! More money for Walmart of course! To make matters worse, their bagged Kraft Shredded Cheddar Cheese has been cut from 8 ounces (1 cup it used to say) to 7 ounces (same price as the 8 ounce used to be), the only cheese ever with seven ounces. Never mind that all recipes call for one cup, 8 ounces or 2 cups. Same price of course as the 8 ounces used to be. This means you have to buy an extra package.
How tacky and horrible for people that don't normally read the ounces. How many recipes will be ruined? I called Kraft and they told me this is especially packaged for Walmart. If I want the 8 ounces, I have to buy it at other stores. Tacky. I honestly don't trust Walmart at this point if I have to spend an extra three hours checking out the ounces and amounts and prices, I used to think they cared. No. By the way, I have called Walmart two days in a row and left a message with Consumer Affairs. They won't return my calls. I will post this on Facebook today.

I bought the 400 mg Ibuprofen Equate brand. On the box it says 400 mg and on the bottle it says 400 mg. But on the capsules it says 125 mg. Now I have to go buy more and will not find out if it is correct until I open it! I would like my money back.

I bought the Equate Omeprazole Magnesium. It works for only about 6 hours rather than all day like the other generic brand I buy. It takes 2 capsules to do the job. I am very disappointed in that the price was way less than my usual generic brand. So in the end I will spend more money using this brand because I have to use twice as much. Guess I'll go back to my old brand unless some changes are made to the formula. Thank you for reading this.

I bought Equate Miconazole 1 for a yeast infection. The insert came out and I was out my money and it did nothing for my yeast infection. I called the number on the box and gave the box #1BT0292 exp 7/12. I got a message to call back, so I did. I spoke to a customer service rep. All she did was take the information and I've heard nothing since. This happened in December. It says on the box satisfaction guaranteed by refund or exchange. Neither of which I received. I will not use the equate brand again. I will go with the name brand. Thank you.

I got the Equate Cleaning & Disinfecting Lens Care System last night. I followed the directions in the box for cleaning and storing the lenses, and when I put on the right lens this morning, I felt a sudden irritation and burning in my eye. I washed my eye immediately with some cold water in hopes that the pain would stop. Although the pain has eased after 12 hours, I can still feel some sting in my eyes up to now. This product is highly unrecommended.

Equate Natural Vegetable Laxative compared to Senokote/8.6 mg. 100 tablets. Tablets are not coated in any way; therefore, are very difficult to swallow. If you take a sip of water, the tablet will immediately begin to break down, leaving an awful taste in the mouth. An incident occurred the past summer, June 2011, whereby the round tablet got stuck in my esophagus. An intense burning occurred and it was very difficult to dislodge the tablet--it was literally stuck to the wall of the esophagus. Please create a better tablet by at least coating it so as to prevent it from beginning to dissolve in the mouth or throat, instead of in the stomach.

I purchased a bottle of Equate Cleaning & Disinfecting Lens solution. I used the product as directed. It was brand new & safety sealed. I placed my contacts in my case .The following morning, I placed my contact in my right eye and I kept on feeling irritation in my eyes. I thought may be it was my contact lens which would have caused it so I opened a new pack of lens and use the Equate lens solution and it reached a point where I couldn't bear and had to see a doctor.
My doctor found that it was due to the reaction from the lens solution, now my eyes have internal swelling and irritation and my vision has been impaired due to that. I have to go to my doctor two times in a week and get medication to reduce the suffering. I would like to make a formal complaint about my experience and suffering that I had to go through after using this product.

Product: Equate contact lens cleaning and disinfecting lens care system. A dangerous product and I am not the only person that has had a terrible experience with this product. It is like putting battery acid in your eye!
Read other complaints: I purchased a bottle of Equate cleaning and disinfecting lens care system. I used the product as directed. I opened the bottle (brand new with safety sealed) and placed my contacts in my case as directed at approximately 10:00PM. The following morning, 7:00AM, I placed my contact in my left eye. I was in absolute agony. I felt like I had acid in my eye. I managed to get the contact out of my eye. I repeatedly flushed my eye with saline solution and then used Visine. I rinsed both of my contacts with saline solution. I placed my contacts in my eyes. I tried to place drops in my eyes periodically throughout the day. It is now 7:15PM and my eye is still very irritated and scarlet. We did call the phone number on the bottle. I am continuing to rinse my eye with saline solution. This product should be removed immediately. I am writing this in hopes that someone else will be spared the pain I am experiencing. There are more but hopefully, you get the picture. It could blind someone!

The tampons are malfuctioning they are stuck in the tube> I have had to throw away over half a box. I wont even go into the mess details. I cannot afford to have to throw this many away and I live so far out in the country.Something needs to be done about this.

After three light applications of Equate's Moisturizing for Extra Dry Skin Body Wash, with Shea butter and vitamins, I noticed burning and redness overall. This is an unusable body wash for me. I must be allergic to some ingredients. I realize I cannot return it, and I don't have the sales slip anymore, but I think the product should warn of possible allergic reactions.

I purchased equate Nite Time last week because I couldn't sleep at night due to coughing. I took 2 gelcaps Thurs. night 1/29 and the next afternoon I had loose bowels which were bright green. This happened about 3 times. I did not take any more medication but when my bowel movements were back to normal it was still green - not as bright but green. Is this because of the medication? I think you should put this as a warning on your box because it was a shock to me. I did not go to the doctor. What do you advise I do?
Nothing physical so far but it certainly was distrubing at the time.

I bought 3 bottles of Equate OTC meds at our local WalMart: a sleep aid, Extra Strength Pain Reliever PM (Equivalent of Tylenol PM), and Naproxin Sodium. I called the service desk & enquired as to the Tylenol PM equivalent. I was told it was only the CAPSULES that were possibly contaminated, as that was the only med form that could contain the shavings. I wasn't given any chance to give lot numbers. I now find it was the caplets & am worried.

I just got out of the hospital a week ago. I have missed alot of work. I have been swelling up. I was sick,a nd i have taken two courses of an antibiotic. I got aa shot of an pneumonia shot, my arm swelled as the rest of my body, i had a bullseye on my arm. The doctors said, the shot was not the reason of my swelling. They asked if i had a metal taste in my mouth. i just found out about the recall. Yes. i bought the store brand/ 500 mg. and i have been taking them. Bottle is done. I just need infor. trying to figure out my problem.

I've been using WalMart's generic Equate brand of Multi Purpose lense solution for soft lenses. I stopped wearing my contact lenses about a month ago because they irritated me too much. Then I noticed a small fungus spot on the left lense. Tried using an enzymatic cleaner but that did no good.

I have asked many times for the stores to carry the sugar free Vanilla Wafers, and no luck. One time I am sure I found Sugar Free Equate Brand Wafers but not in this store. You have many diabetics and the same old cookies gets tiresome after awhile. If you can not stock them, please furnish means to purchase them.
