James of Patterson , NC July 2, 2009 Purchased and paid in full at the time of purchase a book from the above and have been charged monthly charges in the amount of over 100.00 in erroneous charges that was not specified in the beginning to the point of having to cancel my debit card to avoid these and other charges. Michael of Port St. Lucie, FL July 2, 2009 I ordered the "Free Money Book" yesterday and was offered newsletters, c.d.'s, gas cards walmart cards and more. Then I looked on-line for comments about the "Free Money Book" and kevin trudeau. After reading all of the negative feedback I called them back to cancel my order. I was told that my order will not process for 48 hours and that "I can't cancel it". I was steaming mad when the guy told me that. So I had to get on the phone with my bank and have them block payment to the book company. What a scam and I will never read anything with that guys name on it. Gayle of Hollister, MO June 28, 2009 I was very tempted to purchase this book, "Free Money: What they don't want you to know" and would have done it except I didn't have the money this week in my account. So, I went to the Internet to find his website and save it for future purchase, only instead, several sites popped up about the dangers of buying anything from Kevin Trudeau, including this VERY informative one. I want to thank everyone who has developed and contributed to this site as both my husband and I are unemployed, he has been for a year plus, we have no job prospects in the future, scared to death about losing our car and home, and this would have been an absolute NIGHTMARE had I gone through with it. THANK YOU both ConsumerAffairs.com and all of you who have posted warnings Gisele of Covington, GA June 28, 2009 Okay people..I work for the call center which takes call for Kevin Trudeau's books and other items. YES, we have to offer the upsells to you guys or we can get in trouble if we don't. ME personally, I treat everyone the way that I want to be treated, I'm not rude to anyone, I always let callers know that I only put yes or no, whatever they decide. If you say NO I select NO..if you say YES I select yes. I've been asked "do I have to get this extra stuff?" I replied, "it's all optional." If someone accepts the offer of joining a club for 30 days to get the free Walmart card at the end of the call I kindly remind that that they have 30 days...I too am a consumer and I always have to remember that. At the end of the calls I ALWAYS give out the Customer Service Number. I must say that callers are rude, some call with automatic attitudes (for what?), when I offer the Customer Service number, they don't want it..refuse it with anger. Why are we so angry? This is BEFORE you purchase the book? Everyone is in a hurry and angry..this is what I've noticed..I continue to smile and be nice no matter how many times angry people call. We as Call Representatives are only doing our jobs in offering the upsells, you as the caller are only required to listen by allowing us to offer you the upsells and say NO or YES. David of Lancaster, CA June 25, 2009 Orded A Book for 29.95 on my credit card and was charged 177.00 return and got no credit backed to my credit card Schlene of North Hills, CA June 23, 2009 Charged more than advertised and when going to government site for grant money only ended up with charges for identity theft prevention which I already had. I did not order or want it and did not receive the product for the grant that was requested. Sheila of Washington, DC June 21, 2009 When I ordered the Natural Cures book, I was suppose to get a Weight Loss CD (with information that the government doesn't want us to know about). The Natural Cures book came. I never got the CD. I called later and was told that I would receive it when it became available. Donald of Mount Hermon, LA June 19, 2009 Unfortunately I called to order "Kevin Trudeau's FREE MONEY Book" The sales rep constantly tried to push other products but i kept saying no, all i want is the book. I even mentioned i am a poor man, all i have in my account is 50 till next payday. The sales rep told me my total was 39.99. The following morning, I looked in my account to find I have been hit for more that 93. I called the customer service number to cancel it and they said to ship the book back when it arrives. They refused to cancel the order and by the following day, I was his with 36 overdraft. I have also told the bank about it. Currently working on a charge back. Brenda of BALL GROUND, GA June 18, 2009 I called around May 111, 2009 to order Kevin Trudeau's Free Money Book. The customer service person tried about 12 times to get me to agree to other products and kept tellin he no. When I asked what the total for the Free Money book (and the free Debt Cures book) was she said 39.99 including shipping and handling. I told her that was okay but no on everything else including the newsletter. Three days later I noticed a charge for 93.80 against my debit card for Free Money. This was not what I agreed to. I received the book about a week later and spent about 30 minutes reviewing it and thought what a ripoff. The information in the books was geared toward people that were unemployed or on welfare, not the average working person trying to get out of debt, etc. My husband called and asked for a return autorization to send the book back. We sent everything back including the free debt cures book and received a refund to my debit account for 69.90. I will never buy anything from this person again. He is a total waste as far as I am concerned. He is getting rich by ripping people off of their hard earned money. tim of maryville , IL June 1, 2009 I just want to tell people who are being ripped off by this jerk to change or cancel the card number or account number they gave them. He knows he's ripping people off and wouldn't dare report them to a credit beaureau, assuming the company is organized/effecient enough to do so any way. I just watched the infomercial, knew immediately it was wrong and feel terrible for the people writing the stories I have just read. PLEASE! Change or cancel your accounts or cards or whatever you have to do to stop it. Did not call or therefor order anything Report Your Experience
