Loud 'N Clear

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I called to place an order in early July 2010. I did not like the sales pitch; at the end of the order, the charges were about $16.95 plus and $1.00 plus, etc. and waiting time so I cancelled the order. On September 2010, my debit card was billed for over $38.00. I called the number on the bank statement and they referred me to another number that is a prompt only. I cannot talk to anyone. Their answering message states they represent Walmart. Is this a sham and does Walmart know what's going on?

I am a senior citizen living on SS only. Now I have to wait until the end of the month to pick up my prescriptions. This unexpected charge when you are on a budget means doing without food or medicine.

I ordered loud and clear 2 for the price of one but separate shipping charges on April 22, 2010. It was supposed to have been delivered to the post office by FedEx April 26 but I never got it. I called customer service and they said they're going to send me another one. Heard nothing from them, so I called again and they said it was out of stock. Tried checking their website to get the customer service phone # but the website is not available anymore. If the company went bankrupt, how can I go after this people? They didn't send any order confirmation, just a tracking number but the item was never received.

I tried to purchase a "buy 1/get 1 free" Loud N'Clear at their website (https://www.getloudandclear.com/). Unlike most on-line commerce sites, this one did not provide an invoice before final purchase, meaning that I was not advised of the handling and shipping price (which was 75% of the produce cost) and was unaware that I had inadvertently purchased four (2 buys/2 frees) of the products. I didn't find this out until I received their e-mail receipt.

I was unable to cancel on-line or even edit my purchase because the order information would not be accessible for two business days, according to their website. When I tried to cancel the order on the first business day after the purchase, I discovered that the order had already been shipped and my credit card already charged. When I talked with a representative of Loud 'N Clear, she said I could refuse the package and would receive my money back in 4-6 weeks. I suspect that the problems I experienced were intentional on the part of the company in order to: 1) disguise the true cost of the product until after a purchase was unknowingly made; and, 2) to prevent the purchaser from cancelling the order until the order was already processed and shipped, and the credit card billed.

Watching TV infomercial advertising, a hearing device that you can buy 1 and get one free for $19.99. At the time of order, they offer deluxe model for $29.99 which I agreed to, but just feel that the shipping price is exorbitant for this small lightweight package $17.96. When I tried calling the number, the lady gave me went to a national directory service where they said there was no listing for this product and that the directory charge is $3.79 for each call you make. I just happened upon a website today for complaints from others about ordering this product from the TV and the shipping costs are different each time even when contents in the package are the same.

It is my opinion that this is an economic issue involving credit cards and fradulent charges this company uses to make money hijacking the customer with outrageous shipping fees.

I called to order the Loud 'N Clear hearing device. It was advertised as buy one get one free for $19.95 + S&H. Here's the deal. You buy one, at $19.95 + $6.95 S&H but the "free" one is shipped separately but the shipping cost is $7.95 (a $1.00 more?).

I questioned the free offer and the additional $1.00, suggesting that it was not as advertised (free). The order taker told me that since I had that attitude they did not want to take my order, since it does cost the company money to handle and ship. While I do accept that there are charges involved and would pay the S&H, why the additional $1.00 and why are they allowed to use the word "free" so loosely? I was not able to place an order.

MY PROBLEM IS THAT THE UNIT IS USING BATTERIES AT A RATE OF 2 EVERY 4 HOURS. I HAVE EXCHANGED THE UNIT FOR 3 OTHERS AND ALL OF THEM DO THE SAME THING. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR TOLD ME THAT IF YOU USE IT, IT IS DESIGNED TO GO THRU BATTERIES AT THIS RATE. SO BASICALLY, THEY HAVE PUT A PRODUCT ON THE MARKET THAT IS TERRIBLY INEFFICIENT.

If you purchase the Loud n Clear hearing device on this website, they will charge you $16.95 for shipping which you will not see until they have processed your credit card and sent you an email. Then you have to call and cancel if you do not want to pay this exorbitant shipping cost. This should be shown before you submit your purchase.
