Advanced Wellness Research

Mary of Roseville, MN June 26, 2009

I ordered their "free trial" of Max White Tooth Whitener. About a week later, it came. I tried it. It burned my mouth. I called the number on their flier to cancel. I told the man I would send it back but he said that wasn't necessary and gave me a cancellation number. I misplaced it. When my Visa bill came, I was charged 78.93. I called the number next to the charge (the one above), and got someone in India who insisted I didn't call to cancel in time by a day or so and that I was paying for the product I received. Free? No. They would not refund my money. I'm angry, over 60 and can't afford this kind of bull. Anything you can do to help me or save others from getting ripped off by this company...I'd be glad to help. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Responded to Internet ad for free trail of Acai berry pills was told it would be 5.95 then they kept charging my credit card 83.80 for several months I tried to cancel the service to no avail and then I just canceled the credit card to get a new number8

Max White (Advanced Wellness Research, Inc.) is truly a scam company. I would advise all viewers to stay away from that company or their new company name (Whiteningnow.com). They will rip you off and not give you any monetary relief. Stay away from Max White, Whitening.com, BrightTeeth, and Advanced Wellness Research, they are all the same company.

Doris of Canyon Country, CA June 24, 2009

I spoke to the company on the phone -- called the phone number on the packing slip. Got the exact same answers that everyone else has received. They said I could not return the first order, and they said the second order was already shipped (and already charged on my debit card). The second was sent out supposedly on 6/16/09, and I have not received it yet. Below is what I wrote when I sent the first order back (in tact). This company must be stopped! And I MUST have my money back! I am a single mother who may be in jeopardy of losing my job with the school district!

I asked for the trial order for shipping only, and when I received my bank statement, I saw that my bank account was already debited for the amount of 78.93 plus tax plus the shipping plus a foreign transaction fee! The total is actually 86.40. This is outrageous! If my account is not reimbursed within 2 weeks, I will contact authorities immediately! Nothing in shipment has been used, touched or opened. I will check my bank account daily to make sure [they] have complied with my request and order for monies to be refunded.

Please help me stop this madness. The person on the phone was hard to understand, and he also insulted me and was totally rude! But I will pursue this to court, if necessary. When the second package (which I did not order) arrives, I will simply send it back period. I KNOW they will give me the run around and not give me a shipping ID number. I WILL NOT pay a restocking fee, either! I did not order anything!

Ordered a product for 5.95 trial. Account was charged 70.00. I called the number to cancel this product. I then receieved an 2nd shipment and when I called I was told my cancellation was not received and my account will be charged 80.00 and again submitted for cancellation.

Rita of Nicoma Park, OK June 20, 2009

I ordered a trial of their tooth whitening product for 5.95. I received this in the mail a few days later and when I got my bank statement, they had charged 79.95 for a membership and another 80.00 for something else. I did not authorize them to charge anything to my account other than the 5.95 that the trial offer was for. I had to cancel my bank account because they could not promise that other charges would not be made. I have talked with them twice and they are apparently outsourced because I get a foreign person that you can barely understand on the phone. He keeps telling me that after 10 days they will not refund and money.

Lisa of melville, NY June 19, 2009

In February, 2009 I saw an ad for acai berry capsules offering a no strings free trail size. I ordered and agreed to pay for shipping. A few weeks later I received a month's supply without authorization from me. I called and asked that this and any future orders be canceled. I was given a cancelation # and told my credit card will be credited in a few weeks. Rather than that happening I received another month's supply which I returned with a letter asking to cancel and refund my credit card and attached receipt of returned capsules. Needless to say 4 months later I am still waiting for my refund which totals over 200.

I contacted my credit card provider and asked for their assistance, the only thing they could do was to closed the original account and issue me a new account number. This was very inconvenient as I had automatic charges going to the card, so I had to notify all those vendors and give them new card #.

I ordered a free sample of tooth whitening peroxide. They said 4.99 for shipping and product is free.I get the product, then a month later I get it again. They said I accepted a monthly plan, which in no way did I want or know about. They charged my credit card 83.00 ! and said they would reduce the charge but not cancel my order. If I cancel they charge me the 83.00.

Kim of Wurtsboro, NY June 11, 2009

I did not place an order. I recieved a tooth whitening kit in the mail. there was a charge placed on my credit card without my knowledge or authorization. I canceled my credit card.

Joan of Cleveland, OH June 8, 2009

I agreed to purchase a "free" sample of a tooth whitening product for 4.99. I have not used it yet, and yesterday another package arrived, and my credit card had an unauthorized charge of 78.93 on it from "Max White Teeth". I'm embarrassed to say I fell for the same scam the other folks did. I did not see any indication on the web site that I would be charged the second charge.
