Adrenal Fatigue Institute

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I ordered Cylapril in February and noticed that some of its ingredients were changed. My medical doctor did not want me to take the new formula so I returned it right away. After a call to customer service to advise them that I wanted a refund and since the old formula was no longer available, I was told I could expect a refund. After several calls, when my refund was not processed, I was told numerous excuses by an outsource company that was behind the processing of the refunds. Still, they promised that it would come.

However, in my last call, the recorder said that the company was closed. I then asked my credit card company for help. They called me last week to say that they were told my return was not done within some certain time frame and they were closing my appeal and I needed to contact the company. When I called them, the girl was extremely rude. She said that they could no longer talk to me as I had turned the matter over to my credit card and I was hung up on.

Back in August 2009, I saw a TV commercial on the product Adrenal Fatigue Institute. I called for the sample trial of the product. When I first called the man that took my order and credit card, we had gotten disconnected. I was called again by another representative 1 hour later and advise that their electricity/power had gone down. She wanted to place the order again and to get another credit card for the trail offer. I advised I was NOT going to give her another credit card and that the information I had given the man that helped me was plenty. When I was given the "sales pitch" on the product, they advised you had 14days free trial period and then if you did not like the product you could cancel with no additional charge and you could keep the reaming of the product at no charge. If no call was received they would send you 1 bottle for $39.00 plus the shipping and handling. Before the 14 days I spoke to a girl and I told her I could not use the product as it was giving me side effects.

In August I receive a shipment with 2 not one like they had said of the bottles and a charge of $70.00 on my credit card. I called and spoke to Didi and advised I had cancelled the product, that I could not take the medication as it was not advised by my Doctor to do so. The representative was very rude and did not help me at all on my request. I told her I did not want the product and I was sending it back. She advised even if I sent it back I was not going to get my money refunded back to me and stated before she hung up on me "we have your money, not you. Live with it" and hung up the phone. At that time I was so upset I called my credit card company and disputed the charges, up to this date I am still waiting. In November, I returned the product back to them after trying for over 1 month 1/2 to fix this uncomfortable situation and dishonest act on the company.

In the meantime, with all the back 7 forth with the credit card company, the paperwork and phone number for the Adrenal Institute was misplaced. Last week June 18, 2010 a sales representative for the Adrenal Institute called me trying to sell the product again to me. After telling him the entire problem I had gone through with the company he gave me the customer service number. I called today 6-24-10 and spoke to a Nicole who was not a very pleasant person to speak with and told me I had no refund nor any compensation being given to me. Apparently the representative I spoke with back in August 2010 put in the notes that she had given me the instructions on how to return the merchandise and also tried numerous times to give me a return authorization code for the 2 bottle of pills. This person Didi NEVER gave me ANY information like that. It does not make ANY sense at all that after almost 1 year I am STILL trying to get my money back for something I did not authorize to be charged nor shipped. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she said she was one, and then I asked her where the Adrenal Institute located is and she said she did not know.

I told her to get me the information, she said she could not. I told her to as a supervisor she should have this information. She put me on hold and then later she said a manager called Donna was looking at my record to make sure for the refund. She came back on the phone and said no refund of any kind was going to be given to me and there was nothing she was going to do. I stated really upset, so you stayed with the product and my money, so basically I was stolen. She said not and repeated over and over again the notes the representative Didi had written that was not true. I advised it was very contradicting the notes on the record and what I have been trying to do for almost 1 year and of the proof I have. She said no. I asked to speak to a manager and she gave me a very hard time till finally I got the manager Donna and it was the same circle again. So basically I have realized, I was taken advantage of, incorrect, false statement was written by a representative and I have nothing. I asked her for the address where I could write a complaint and she gave me a email where I am sending this same complaint to them which probably I will get nowhere again and basically I was robbed by dishonest people and company.

I returned the product November 21 2009. Keep calling get the same old story. Will be sending refund check of $83.46. Now they keep changing phone number and you can't get a hold of any one! I see that a lot of other people are going through the same problems as I am. I hope you can resolve this for me and everyone else. Thank you!

So, I have the same story with the Adrenal Fatigue Institute and Cylapril. I call every week since 10/15/09 when they received the product back and here it is 5/10/10 and they are still telling me the check is in the mail. And it will be another 1-2 billing cycles before I get it. Okay, we have already gone 7 billing cycles and I will continue to call. Is there anything being done about this? A class action suit? I am out $129.00 in unauthorized debit card charges.

I ordered the Cylapril product at the end of January and received it within two weeks. I tried the product as instructed and noticed no results. I contacted them to return the product and they claimed the date was past the 30-day return period. It was not. I only had the product two weeks but they would not listen to reason. Save yourself the headache. It cost me $130.

On or around August 22, 2009, I ordered Cylapril. The total cost was $109.85. I returned it via UPS within days for a full refund. I followed all procedures for a refund, but to date, I have not received my refund. I spoke with Andy, Daisy and Maria numerous times. This company is a rip-off. They have no intention of refunding anyone their money. Therefore, I am looking into a legal remedy. Do not purchase this product!

On 12/14/09, I called to get a free sample of Cylapril for the shipping price of $9.99, then the person on the phone tried to sell me several other products and was talking real fast. I then told the person to just cancel my order. He then shifted me to another person. I told him to cancel my order. Then a day later, someone called to confirm my shipping address. I told them again do not ship the order. About two to three days later, I received the product. I was charged $9.99 for the pills, $2.00 for the CD, and $1.00 for some type of product to put on my food. About 14 to 15 days later, I called because I saw a charge on my account for $54.99. I called them and explained I did not want the product and they were not supposed to ship it.

On 1/11/2010, I called the about the charge. They said I waited and it's too late to cancel the order. I asked them about when I started to place the order and asked for it to be cancelled and why wasn't it done then. She told me they couldn't do it, but I explained it's the same number I called to place the order and I tried to cancel it while I was placing it. I then had to call back and talk to a supervisor and that was a joke, too. I should have been talking to the wall. She then stated they would listen to the tape and get back with me. I asked her for a copy of the tape. She told me they would contact me in about 5 business days. I then decided to contact my bank and plan to file a complaint with the bank on the total charges. I was shipped a product that I tried to cancel I was up front charged $9.99 plus $1.00 plus $2.00, then charged later $54.99. This product at Walgreens only cost $39.99.

I cancelled my membership and requested a refund. I was told that regardless of whether I returned the product, I would be charged a 15% "restocking fee"! I was also told that it would take anywhere from 30 days to 60 days to receive the refund!

I ordered the 60-day supply on 5-23-09. It was 3 weeks before I received it. I took the product as told in the directions, but did not have any results, so on 7-6-09, I mailed the remaining bottle, the vitamins and all product information back in the package with the addresses reversed. The problem is the company says I did not call them to get some type of return number that was listed on the papers they sent me so they will not refund my money because they say it has not showed up in their warehouse. I called on 8-12-09, 8-21-09, 8-31-09, 9-10-09,9-23-09, 10-1-09, 10-6-09, 10- 7-09, 10-8-09, 10-14-09, 10-16-09, 10-22-09, 11-3-09, 11-6-09, 12-3-09. I know they received the product back, but are just refusing to give me a refund because I didn't follow some stupid regulation about returns. I am not an ugly person by nature, but I wish I've opened the other bottles and spit in them so they couldn't use them again since they refuse to give me my money back.

My husband ordered this product for me in early September 2009 and I was unaware that it contained licorice, which raises my blood pressure. I called within to return the item and was told that shipments would stop and that I could get a refund. That was September 30, 2009 and it is now December 29, 2009 and we have not received a credit. I was told during a phone conversation with the company that we needed a return authorization number, however I explained that the person I spoke with did not provide that information and didn't inform me that I needed it. I was told I would get a refund, but it would take longer.

I just spoke with Gia on the phone and she told me that I would get a refund, but it would take longer because we had no Return Authorization Number. They will not take responsibility for not informing me, and not providing that information when I called to return the product. They also refused to give me the last name of the person I needed to write to for customer complaints.

I tried their product and was unable to tolerate it. I tried to cancel any future shipements and was informed it had already shipped and that I should return the product and would receive a refund within one to two billing cycles. After receiving the product I sent the product back received comfirmation for the postal service that it had been received by the company on September 1,2009. On or about November 2 I checked my account to see if the refund had been returned and found that it had not. I called the toll free number to inquire and was told It was being processed and it should be there by the end of the week. We are now in December and i have still not be refunded my money. All I'm getting from the rep's is that it is being processed but NO REFUND

I signed up for their auto receive plan for Cylapril so that I could give their product a good try. After the suggested amt of time of 3 months and no results I called them & they recommended another product called Optimal Results. They said I would receive it free with my Cylapril; I never did. Then they said it was out of stock I waited almost 3 months while they contiued to send me the Cylapril. I called back 5 times over a perios of 4 -5 months asking where the Opt Results was as I hadn't received it.

They kept promising they were going to send it and that it was going out in the mail that day and I would rec w/in 3-5 days. I finally called the end of Nov 09 telling them if they did not send me the Opt results owed to me for all of these mo's I would discontinue buying their product. They said they were sending it out to me that day/ 3-4 bottles owed to me. I requested a hold on receiving any further orders until I received the Opt Results. A couple days ago I received ANOTHER order of the Cylapril w/one bottle Opt Results! Each time they do this they charge me 'over' $50.00 when I requested a HOLD. I called their new # today; as their old # had been changed and it is no longer their number but someone elses! Now there's no way to call them and they continue to bill me and send me what I don't want!!!This is expensive and they continue to charge my acct and send me prodct I requested not to receive. HELP!!!!!!!! Thank you!

I have called their customer service dept on SEVEN different occasions about my refund. It states in their literature that Cylapril is backed by the Adrenal Fatigue Institute's No Questions Asked money back guarantee. Here I am 5 months from my initial order and still no credit and no reasonable explanation. They received immediate payment from me and I followed all their instructions as well as the requirements for the return process. I have requested the FULL AMOUNT that I paid, $129.98, refunded to my credit card. I believe this is company is committing consumer fraud. Here are the details:

1. On 7/18/09 I ordered a 3 month supply of Cylapril (order #NM1372601-956826) and my credit card was charged $129.98.
2. It arrived on 7/21 by UPS.
3. On 8/13/09 I spoke with Monique about the product not working and she suggested I give it 30 more days since it was covered under the 60 day money back guarantee.
4. On 9/11/09 I spoke with Matt about returning the product because it didn't work. He gave me a return authorization (RMA-CS1109MD).
5. I mailed the remaining unused product the next day to the Lewiston, ME warehouse and received a delivery confirmation on 9/14/09 at 1:33pm.
6. I was told the credit was posted on 9/18/09 minus shipping and a 15% restocking fee.
7. On 10/13/09 I still had not seen a credit and spoke with Clarence who told me he saw $100.49 pending and should see it hit over the next week.
8. On 10/27/09 it still was not credited and I spoke with Jen who told me it could take 1-2 billing cycles.
9. On 11/11/09 I called again and spoke with Dee. She told me the credit was batched at the corporate office. She contacted the corporate office to expedite the process.
10. On 12/9/09 I called the customer service number and the message state the number had changed. I called the new 800-number and spoke with Joy. She gave me the same "script" as everyone else so I asked for a supervisor. She put me on hold and came back to tell me there were none available. She gave me an 800-number to call special services directly. I waited on hold for 25 minutes and then pressed "1" to leave a message as instructed. Instead, nothing happened and I was sent back into queue. I was finally able to leave a message.

11. I received a call from Gia on 12/10/09. I called the 800-number she left and spoke with Daisy. She couldn't get any feedback from corporate and told me she would call back when she got an answer.

As of today, I have not received any calls from AFI/GLF nor have I received a refund.

After, I ordered a free trial of Cylapril, I received a 3 months supply charged at $129.98. I called to cancel shortly after, since that is too high for me. I was talked into continueing the plan with a reduced cost of 3/$79. It has now come in at the original cost, no reduction. I cannot reach anyone to talk about it.

I saw an ad for a free trial of cylapril in the newspaper, so i decided to give it a try. Once i called just for my free trial, gave them my card information, they started trying to sign me up for magazines and stuff i did not want, i kept saying i dont want all that just the free trial.

So, i told the guy nevermind, i dont want it. He gave me a cancellation #.

A few weeks later, I get my credit statment and it shows they charged me anyway, along with 2 membership fee's for something i did'nt sign up for. When I called they told me there was nothing they could do, so i had to cancel my credit card. They also sent me a bottle of Optimal results to take along with the cylapril, well I started having side affects from that product, so i called back, to see if i could get info on this product.

The first guy could'nt tell me anything about the product, the second smart alec named Jeff couldnt tell me anything either and just hung up on me, The third person i talked to really could'nt tell me anything either, but when she described the pill, it was'nt even what i was taking, supposedly a new product. I was supposed to be getting a bi-layer product, but what i got looked like a broad spectrum. Also, the bottle says its distributed by NutraMed Nutrition Inc, no such company. Severe cramping, headaches, discoloration of urine (looks like orange dye).

UNauthorized debit to my CC account for 3 month supply of Cylapril. This autoship order was canceled following the previous 3-month shipment that was also unwanted. They refused to reverse the charges to my CC but will takethe return with an RMA# and less a 15% fee. They do not acknowledge that I canceled the order months ago. The charge has caused my CC to be overlimit. I have overlimit fees and risk having my interest rate increase.

They made an unauthorized debit from my bank account. They had my information on file already because I've tried product's in the past and one day they called trying to sell me a new product I said NO and they sent me the product anyway and charged my account. SO i called them, had to send the product back at my expence and Im having a hard time getting my money back saying they have to make three attempts to credit my card and its been about 2 months and still nothing!

Upon purchasing my order I realized a short time later I really couldn't afford it so I cancelled first thing Monday morning. I was told it was too late and it would be shipped. I was given and RMA#. I reyurned it imediatly after I recieved it. I was told I shoud get a refund at about 30 days. I called on the 34th day and complained that I had not been credited. I was told that it should post within the next few days. that was on 10/20.

it is now Nov. 2nd and I still have not been credited. I do believe there is a criminal complaint here somewhere. I would like to find out how to bring a class action lawsuit against them. I was told I would not be charged a 15% restocking fee in the first phone call. the second call stated I would be charged. My total purchase was appx. $111.00. I feel this is robery on a mass scale. I would welcome any attorney to contact me.

i purchased the producr for adrenal fatigue, was not allowed to take it so i called and got a rma and also cancelled my order as well as any future shipments. was told that it would take 1-2 billing cycles to recieve my refund of 117.00.

now 3 months have passed called them and spoke with cs rep and was told that my shipment had no rma on it. i mailed it from the ups store and actually took a picture of it with the rma on it. now i 'm told that you only have 15 days from the time they issue the rma to recieve it and mine was past that. however ups shows it was 3 days after i shiped it that they recieved it.

PLEASE stopp these people. they are rude and discourteous because they know they are scammers. i think the us attorney general need to get involved. i cannot recieve a refund and i could use that money for something else. also the stress of the cnversation sent my blood pressure sky high.

I ordered the 15 day trial Cylapril on 9/26/09 (Saturday). The invoice says it was shipped 9/29/09. I picked it up from the post office 10/8/09. On 10/09/09 my card was charged 104.96. Sure they just made a mistake, I called the number on the front of the invoice. Explained I had not had 15 days to review the product, was told the 15 days begins the day they ship it. Even though it has only been 13 days, they already shipped out a 30 day supply and would do me "the favor" of returning $70.00 back into my account. I told them their way of doing business was unethical and I wanted no more to do with them. How can I be given 15 days to try something if it takes 12 days to get to me. Why would the clock start from the day it was shipped? Of course like all the rest of you I'm being told to call them when I get it and they will give me an RMA# to return it. The back of the invoice mentions less shipping and handling and a 15% restocking fee. But I did not tell them to ship me more. I wasn't even given 15 days!! Why should I pay to ship it back or pay them 15% to restock it. I talked to five people explaining this story--could never speak to a supervisor or manager. Also called the customer "care" line 888-772-8170. When I pointed out that it had not even been 15 days since I ordered it, the period then suddenly became 10 days, even though the back of the invoice clearly states a 15 day trial period. I googled the institute, thinking the president of this company has no idea how these people are treating his customers. I was going to write him and found this forum with everyone's experience being pretty much the same. Bottom line, these people are unethical which translates CROOKS. Buyer don't just beware be a non buyer.

Apparently you people that have complained about the shady business practices of cylapril and the adrenal institute are "a bit nutty." At least that's what the customer service person said at the adrenal institute.

My wife ordered cylapril from an infomercial with the $.97 shipping free trial offer, and not even a week later canceled the trial. She got the bottle of cylapril, but not the multi-vitamin(on back-order). Got our bank statement and $104 was taken out of our account. Called cylapril, and they told us that the "membership" was cancelled, and they have nothing to do with the adrenal institute, and she could not credit out bank account for the $104.

Called another number and talked to the adrenal institute, and they have no record of a cancellation and the product should arrive tomorrow 10/06/09, then we have to send the product back and would get a refund minus 15% restock and minus shipping. From what I have read we probably will be out the $104.

I ordered a "Free 14 day trial" on 5/24/09.I was billed on my debit card on 5/29/09 for $18.74($1.99 for product and $16.75 shipping and handling). I was billed again on 6/15/09 for $84.90, All of this time I had not received my trial pack. I later that month received my trial and was billed another amount on 6/29/09 for $96.80. I went to my bank on 7/3/09 and cancelled my debit card as they continued to take money out of my account and at that time I could not get anyone on the phone. When you called you got the message that they were experiencing a high call volumn and the call would disconnect.I was finally able to get someone on the phone in and I spoke with Jessica who gave me a return authorization number on 7/24/09. I called back on 7/28/09 and spoke to Patrick (who was very rude and obnoxious. He told me that they would take 15% and postage out of my refund. I asked for a supervisor and he told me the supervisor was not available to talk to a customer.I called back on 9/3/09 and spoke with Nicole and was told it could take up to 3 billing cycles? for my refund check because I had cancelled my debit card and they would have to send me a paper check. I still have not received any refund from them 9/29/09/.

Regarding Adrenal products Cylapril and ChromAcai:

I ordered the 30-day money back guarantee trial for both the Cylapril and ChromAcai supplements on 8/25/09 via website (https://www.cylapril.com/?mid=501641). The products absolutely did nothing for me. The shipped order included the 15-free trial and the first 90 days of the product with an automatic shipping for another order in 90-days. I called their support number (877-875-4924) on 9/14/09 to return the unused and unopened 90 days supplement.

The customer service rep (Billie) was rude and argumentative once she was unable to talk me into keeping the order, a very rude person. She relayed that there would be a 15% "restocking fee". I questioned her about this as I was unaware of this deduction for the money back guarantee. She said that it was on the website. I've checked several times and I still can't find the notice that there was a 15% fee for returned items. At that time, I canceled all products and requested a status which Billie relayed there were no outstanding orders and the account would be canceled.

However, I received an additional order for the ChromAcai on or about 9/20/09. I called their costumer service number again on 9/28/09 to obtain the required RMA number to return the product. Again, the customer service rep (Jeff) was rude and uncooperative at first. When I pointed out the previous call and cancellation of all products and obtained the RMA number. Jeff relayed that there would be the 15% charge, this time it was called a "handling fee".

I ordered Cylapril on 9-9-09, was told I would be charged .97 for one week trial. Then on 9-21-09 I was charged 104.96. I have not as yet received my one week trial. I was told by Adrain that I should of called the company and reported it, that I had 7 days to respond. I told her I didn't even have a telephone number to call. She was extremely rude. I asked why my account was then charged the $104.96. She said that I hadn't cancelled in the first 7 days so the next order was shipped. I again told her I hadn't received anything from them. She again told me that I would of needed to call them within the 7 days. She basically talked in circles telling me it was my fault that I didn't call and cancel. She then said she was done talkeing to me about it. I called back and talked to Scott who was a bit more helpful. He gave me an email address and several reference numbers. I tried the email address which was invalid. I tried serveral more times with the same outcome. I called the company and was given another email address. I had to google the company to find more information which got me NO-WHERE! I am so frustrated with this company. It is a fraud. I don't know how to get my money back.

After seeing the infomercial, I checked out their website. Not much there, and NO Adrenal Fatigue Institute website (first red flag). Googled the Adrenal Fatigue Institute, and up popped adrenalfatigue.org. this website specifically states that Dr. James Wilson is in no way associated with or endorses Cylapril or the Adrenal Fatigue Institute.

I called Cylapril to talk about the 30 day free supply I saw on the infomercial, and I was told it was a 20 day supply. Now, their website says the free supply is a 15 day supply (second read flag to me).

The infomercial also stated that if you called now you would get the book totally free (no s&h), even if you didn't order the free trial of Cylapril. Jesse at Cylapril said, "No, that's not how it works. The book comes free w/ the free trial." (third red flag)

Then Jesse tried to sell me a 3 month supply at the "today only" price of $101.99 + $9.99 s&h. At cylapril.com, the online price is only $99.96 + $9.95 s&h. (fourth red flag)

Even though I told Jesse from the beginning that weight loss was not what I was interested in, he kept talking about the fabulous weight loss I would experience. (fifth red flag).

Trying to see if this guy was for real, I asked him who this Dr. James Wilson was. Jesse replied, "Oh, he's the founder of the Adrenal Fatigue Institute and the cylapril product." (sixth and final red flag)

I replied, "Interesting... Then why does his website specifically state: 'www.adrenalfatigue.org and Dr. James Wilson are NOT affiliated with "The Adrenal Fatigue Institute" OR the product Cylapril'?"

I could here Jesse's jaw hit the floor. He tried to tell me that he assumed that since I was asking, I must have read it off the cylapril website. He tried to change the subject.

I told him I would have to re-evaluate whether or not to purchase cylapril.

Now, I did find several websites who sell cylapril without having to go directly through the cylapril people. Amazon is one. vitacost is another. I've used both for other purchases, and was satisfied with both. It seems you can also buy this stuff at Walgreens, so no shipping and no credit card fraud.

Interestingly, the one and only comment on amazon about this product states :"I have tryed this product and will continue to use it. I am over 50 and I feel much better since using Cylapril. This is the product I have been searching for many years now. Thank you !!!" I wonder if this is Jesse's mother. He said she is over 50, and has been using the product about a month now and she feels so much better. ;)

I thank God I had the presence of mind to do my research and try to "stump" the salesman. I also thank God I found comments here before I made a purchase.

I tried to call the toll free number on the bottle of Cylapril, to ask a question about the amount and source of the bovine adrenal gland substance in their product; and, whether they are certified by a U.S. vitamin & supplement organization re: the source and use of bovine gland. I got a 'this number has been disconnected' on repeated tries.

I am concerned because I took about 10 of the tablets this past winter before recalling the degenerative brain spongiform, or 'mad cow' disease. I did some research online the other nite, and learned that bovine adrenal glands are a medium risk source of the disease if glands are not from U.S source. Their label says product of USA,but given the # of complaints, and the non-working phone #, how can I be sure? I also would like my money back,if possible

I purchased free 14 Day trial with my mastercard and was charged $115.85 . I called immediatly to cancel and was told I could not and had to return the product once its shipped.

I had ordered a "free trial" of their product. I used it for a couple days and got very sick! I only had their product in my possession 7days, when they billed me for $92 and received another month of their product. I have written, phoned (this was back in May). I have confirmation they received the package, but yet no refund!

I ordered Aspire 36 trial offer. Since then, I have been repeatedly charged $38.99, although I cancelled during the trial period. I have been told countless times that I would be refunded. Of course, I haven't been. I have called over 20 times and they keep telling me my account would be credited within 2 or 3 business days. It has now been two months and no refund.

I called this "institute" last night during one of those infomercials, having a good laugh while it rang considering it seemed like a crock to me. Long story short, I grilled the guy on the other end of the line and he finally told me what was in it: less than 10 mg of three different minerals (that do nothing, by the way), adrenal bovine (dried and powdered bull's adrenal cortex, which could cause some health issue later in life, I do believe), and passion flower extract (causes a short lived and mild euphoric feeling). All in all, it is a placebo that should be avoided at all costs due to the fact that it will only make you feel good for a short amount of time and could cause problems worse than what you currently are having.

I was looking online at a trial period of the Cylapril for a friend. We tried to order just the trial and the website automatically ordered a 90 day supply and charged my bank card, both for the trial and the 90 day supply plus shipping within seconds. I contacted them immediately after this happened to see if they could correct the situation. I was told that no, I had to wait until the product was received at my home and then send it back and wait again for a refund.

I shipped the product back, only the 90 day supply showed up, even though I was charged for the trial as well, and it was received on the 21st of May. I called and verified that they had received it. I was then told that it would be 3-5 days for my refund. Well, that came and went and no refund. I called again and was told that they, by law, have 30 days to issue me a refund. I was told to call back on the 19th of June as the 21st is on a Sunday and they're not open.

I called today, the 19th of June, and was told that it could still be another 7-10 business days until I get my refund and to call on July 1st if I haven't received it by then. I had to cancel my bank ATM card and pay more than $200 in bounce fees because of their system automatically taking the money out that I never authorized. It's been a month and I still don't have my refund.

I can't speak to the product, it didn't work for me. My issue is that you are not made aware upfront that if you do not cancel within the first 14 days, you will be charged the full price. The "free trial" is very misleading. When I was charged the full price, I called to see when I would receive the product i.e., my next bottle. That's when I was told that the charge was for the "free trial". I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I was able to get through and canceled immediately. $11.80 + $54.95 for a free trial, not free in my book!

The product itself, Cylapril, may have some healthy benefit, but after reading the label, it's obvious it's nothing more than vitamins and a "proprietary blend" they won't disclose. No difference in me after 2 weeks. More troublesome, and infuriating enough to undo any benefit the product may provide, is the near fraudulent business practices of The Adrenal Fatigue Institute. I ordered the two week free supply, with shipping costing $11.00 or so. The terms were; 1) use it for 2 weeks, then see how it makes you feel; 2) you have 30 days from the date of order to cancel any ongoing shipments, and; 3) payments should be made by debit card only.

I received the pills about 7 days after my debit card was charged. I was able to use them for one week. Then the following week, I was charged an additional $60.00, but received no more products. I called to cancel, and got a big runaround. You'll eventually get to them, but you'll have to wait 40 minutes to get through. The line is only open 10-5PM, EDT, from Mondays through Fridays (as opposed to the sales line which is open 24/7). Most disconcerting is the fact that the additional $60.00 wouldn't go through via debit card, so they "forced" it through as a POS check. The bank has refunded my money, and I've filed a consumer fraud complaint with the Attorney General's office in my state. I also cancelled my debit card so this won't happen again. I'm out $60 at this point.

I opted for the free trial and then several days later, they took out for another shipment. I asked them to cancel my membership and have not received the product or money back.

I have been calling them since Feb, 09, which on Feb 4,09 they took 79.90 out my account, when I in fact had called them orginaly. To tell them I wanted to return this product they gave me return number and a ID number and I then mail back to them. So in March I tried to call them and I was given another number to call and they didn't have that product. So I was given 1-800 same reply other than to call Procter and Gamble so I did they do not have the product. And yesterday they told me to go to this web to customer service and no results.

My experiences are all very similar to those found on the website. Tried to cancel during the "free" period. on the phone they acknowledged cancelation, but charged my card anyway for my next "subscription" but next shipped it. Fortunately, I am a long-time AMEX Gold Member and I have successfully distupted this and put a permanent block on them charging me more.

I am due a refund of $42.45 since March, 2009 when I returned the product. I have proof the return was received and have given this company the information more than once. I have been told the refund was being processed each time I phoned since March. I called the last time on May 5, 2009 and Janet, the representative I'd spoken to before told me I would receive the refund in 7-10 business days.

I will call again today, but I don't expect any satisfaction after reading the numerous customer complaints on the web. I am filing this complaint in the hope that there can be some action taken to prevent this company from ripping-off more trusting consumers and to get the $42.45 refunded to my credit card, if possible. I paid the credit card bill without disputing the charge based on the assurance by the representatives the money would be refunded.

Advertised on TV "TRY FREE 30 DAYS FOR $11.XX SHIPPING." I called and ordered but did not receive until third week after I ordered. I tried for one week, no results, and tried to call to cancell and return but the phone number is not in service, the web sight is not real-only fake-and the real complaint -- I got my bank statement today and Adrenal Fatigue had charged $ 97.56 instead of $11.56 shippinf as advertised. Never was I told that such a big charge would be made on my bank account. I am a senior living on SSA and can not aford any charges like this. I'm sunk/skunked/Scamed!

My checking account is $500 in the red because of Cylapril. I keep sending packages back. I don't think I ever got a penny back. What happened to these people happened to me as well. Their infomercial sure looks deceptive. Stations have to stop allowing them to buy airtime. AFI pretend to be articulate, intelligible people, but they're really crooks. This isn't the first time I was ripped off by a so-called diet pill. Next time, I'll get surgery. I'll still call them. If something's too good to be true, it just might be.

Call credit card company, ASAP. Say your card was lost/misplaced. They will CANCEL card, and issue a NEW card. The Adrenal Fatigue Institute will NOT have the new number. ALL charges will STOP. Reimbursement is another problem. Complain to FDA site about product misrepresentation. The FDA can fine them and/or remove product from market. Thank You for sharing. You saved me from FRAUD.

I saw this free trial for adrenal fatigue and so I read about it and thought why not try it. Since it is free, and I have been suffering fatigue for many years. When I placed the order it said I only needed to pay for shipping. They did say to cancel within 14 days of ordering otherwise I will be signed up automatically. I tried to call many times never had been able to get through. So I decided to send them an email to cancel. I wrote them saying I did not want to be signed up. I needed to see if the product in fact worked. If so than I would sign up, but why pay for something if you do not know if it is going to work for you.

They were suppose to send me a free month supply of Cyparil and end up charging me $54. I tried to notify them that I did not want their product and I got charge again.

I ordered the free trial offer- just pay shipping. Now I have 2 charges on my debit card which is a shock to me. I saw nowhere that there would be a monthly charge. I have attempted to call the company, but, you cannot get through. What to do?

I ordered a "free trial" supply and without my knowledge and consent, I have been receiving a monthly shipment for a total of 4 months. I've returned 3 of the shipments (I have certified mail green cards showing the receipt of the packages) and I included a letter asking that all future shipments be stopped. I just received an e-mail saying they have shipped ANOTHER shipment and they, of course, have taken the money out of my account...again! I cannot afford this at all and I've now "lost" $200.00 on these shipments that I cannot seem to get a refund for! I did not authorize any more than the trial offer!

I'm totally open to advice and will be making a trip to the bank tomorrow to see what can be done!

Don't order from these people! I've had several insufficient checks now because of the money that is drawn out BEFORE I ever get a notice that it's being taken! The charges are creating additional checks to go bad and it's becoming a VERY bad situation!

I ordered a free trial offer for CYLAPRIL on line. I was told it would cost me $9.95 for shipping and handling. However, when they billed my credit card, they billed me $49.95. they said that there was some fine print saying that I authorized an additional $40.00 when I did not call them within 14 days.

The product was shipped to me on 2/23/09 and included an invoice for $9.95 but on March 11, 2009 they debited my charge card to $49.95. Subsequently. on March 24, 2009 they issued another bottle of the cylapril and chared me $6.95 for the bottle and $49.95 for shipping and handling. When I received the shipment 7-8 days later I called the company to cancel. They said the fine print said I had signed up for automatic shipping every 30 days of the product.

On March 27th they debited my credit card for $56.90. I was in shock. There was no fine print connected with the on-line order of the free-trial offer. I received notice of another debit to my bank last week. I called to cancel again. I want nothing to do with the Institute. They should be required to deal with people in an open and honest manner.

I lost $131.80 for a "free trial" that was merely handed to people on the streets because I ordered on-line.

I called the company again today @12:00noon. I spoke to a rep (Mike #2041 - a short tempered individual). He asked for history on the account and wanted to know what he could do for me. I told him I was waiting for my the last of my refunds and the name and # of the last rep I spoke to. He was quite defensive and couldn't understand why I would be getting a refund on the shipping. I sternly said because I never got the product. He then said that the refund request was canceled on 3/29 (10 days before my call to L. Henry).

Regardless of that, Ms. Henry authorized the spot refund on 4/8/09.) He is authrizing another spot refund (3-5 business days)which should be by 5/1/09. Wasted lunch hour. it's the point. Again, they shouldn't be taking advantage of people who are trying for a healthier life style.

I ordered a trial order of Cylapril from their website - $16.75 on 4/3/09. By 4/8 I had not received it, although they had debited my checkiang account for $16.75. I sent them an email on 4/8 asking to cancel my order and they replied on 4/9, saying my account was cancelled and that I would not be billed although they had taken my money already. On 4/17/09 UPS came to my door with a package and when I saw that it was from the Adrenal Institute, I refused it.

I called them today, 4/20 and explained what had happened, spoke with Justin at customer service, and he said he could not refund my money because the money did not go to them, but to the postal service to send the free trial to me.He then told me to go to Free Rebate and I could get my money back, but there was no company on the list for Adrenal Fatigue. This company just blew me off and lied to me about the whole thing. I lost $16.75 and I want my money back

I odered 30 free trial and without my permission they charged me for another order at the cost of $54.95 on 4/16/2009 this was an unathorisied debit. I want my money returned emediately.

I am on a tight budget and cannot buy this product. My doctor said I cannot use this drug with my othere medications.

I ordered the 30 day trial which included a book on adrenal fatigue and a 30 day supply of the diet pills for $6.95, after I gave my credit card information and went to check out a screen popped up and the only thing in it was a box that said for a limited time get a 3 month supply for $129.60 then it didn't let you do anything to back out of it, so I opened another screen and checked my bank account and they had already taken the money from my account!

I called told them what happened and they said too bad. I then told them that if I couldn't get my money back I wouldn't be able to afford food to feed my kids, they actually said they didn't care. They said there was nothing they could do about it.

I am now unable to buy groceries, not to mention the stress level that was a direct result. I have adrenal insuffiency and am required to keep my stress as minimal as possible, and this company that was supposed to be all about adrenal fatigue and insufficiency caused me to go into a deep depression and get sick. All of this happened on 3/17/09.

I called the AFI on 1/21/09 to cancel my order & refund my account. I returned the product as directed &,in fairness, the payments ceased from being taken from my account. However, trying to get the $49.95 refunded to my account has been an experience. I have made 4 phone calls, been told twice that the credit paperwork has been issued to my account (which it hasn't after 3 months). Today, when I asked to speak to a supervisor -- NONE was available at that time (this is in the middle of the day). When I asked for an address for my lawyer to contact them, I was told to check the website & get it via their email. I emailed them twice before the phone calls & no one ever responded to them. I also have to add that their customer service representatives are not courteous & sometimes yell at you.

I ordered product which was offered free for the first 30 days and gave them my credit card info so they could charge for the postage. They advised that I had 14 days to cancel automatic ordering. I tried to cancel on the fourteenth day but the answer from the business indicated they were closed though I had called by 3 pm mountain standard time. I have never received the product and now have been charged $79.00 for another month. I tried called the business and spoke to a Shikira who told me to contact customs. I do not live near a customs office nor do I have a clue about who to call in customs. I think that this business needs to be more aware of sending this stuff to Canada and the the problems that may occur and not leave people feeling like idiots when they don't recieve a product and are continued to be charge for it.

My credit has been charge for something I have never received or properly tested before cancelling. Their telephone staff is rude and belittling to the people they are susposed to treat properly. Due to my interaction with this business I beleive that they are fraudulent and totally inapproriate in their actions. I asked to speek to a supervisor three times and was given the runaround with excuses that the supervisor was at lunch (the time difference would indicate they take lunch around 3-4 pm). When I asked for their address all the telephone consultant could say was Maine, USA. I feal sorry for anyone who is elderly in having to deal with such an organization.

On December 15, 2008, I called for the free book and 30 day trial product for 9.95. I noticed my credit card was billed $109.95. I called immediately, since I had not received my package. I was told the package would be there any day,and that is what I ordered. I said, " I specifically said I wanted the trial package and book for $9.95. So, the operator said I would have to wait 1 week for them to retrieve my phone conversation to verify what I had ordered. I called back in 2 weeks and they still hadn't retrieved the conversation.

I asked to speek to a manager. Rebecca came to the phone and I did get firm with her. She said she would call me back that same day, and she did.

She listened to the conversation and I was right, they made a mistake.
I was to send the package back and then I would receive a credit of $109.95.
I said, "This is your mistake, I do not want to pay the shipping cost back to you.
After going back and forth several minutes, she said she would send a prepaid shipping label to attach to the product and mail it back. She suggested I pay $1.00 to the post office for conformation. (that sounded fair).
I waited 2 weeks for the shipping label and called Rebecca again.
She seemed helpful and offered to credit my charge card and extra $10.00 if I would ship the package back. I said, "that means you will credit my card $109.95 plus $10.00 for shipping?"

She said, yes. (that sounded fair)

They received my package 2 days later. ( I tracked it)
I watched my statement and there was no credit for the next 2 weeks.
I called today, Feb 9th.(Mind you, when one calls this # an automated voice says there are 19 people ahead of you) (so, I wait for 20 minutes, each time I call, and twice, I got disconnected!!)
Rebecca is busy, so I had to continue with a very, very rude male operator.
He verified the package was in the wharehouse. He said I should see a credit of $99.95 in a month.

What??????? I told him what Rebecca said and he continured to say I do not get the shipping back. (I argued with him)

Then he said I would get the $10.00 that Rebecca offered, but not the original shipping.
I said, " It was your mistake, why should I pay the shipping on something that your company did not produce?"
We argued and he would not let me get a word in and we went back and forth. He said, that is the way it is, you are not getting the original $9.95 back.
Every time I asked to speak to Rebecca, he said she was busy. Then, he said I would have to "hold" for her. Several minutes went by and he came back on the phone.
"Ok", he said, "you will be getting the full amount requested back on your card in a few days. Thank you, good bye".

What a lot of wasted time. I think I am cured of infomercials.
Still, I am not in the clear. I have to wait to see if they are going to be honest this time!

If you don't hear from me, you can assume I got my refund.

i ordered a trial sample of cylapril. i was told i had 14 days to cancel my membership. i thought it was 14 days after receiving it, but it was 14 days from the order date. i received it 9 days after the order date, so i actually had only 5 days to try it and cancel. i called them on 12/26/08 (11 days after receiving it) and they said it was too late and i would be charged $49.95. this is intentionally misleading on their part so they can get $49.95 instead of their offer of $9.95. it is sad that companies like them prey on senior citizens and other victims who are trying to improve their health but get scammed instead.

i was charged $49.95 instead of the trial offer amount of $9.95. and it continued my losing faith in america and internet businesses.

Hello I first contacted adrenal fatique institute on December 27, 2008 about their product called Cylapril after watching a TV add commercial. I then called their phone number to discuss this product on losing weight around my midsection. During our conversation I asked the sales lady did this product have hunger suppresent in it and I never got a answer.

After agreeing to order the trial period of this product I gave the operator my credit card information. I was to cancel this order before the 30 day trial period exspired. I have been sick and I completly forgot to cancel my order.

Since then the company has deducted $49.00 back on 01149 from my checking account for a book that was suspposed to be free. They then have deducted another $56.00 from my account that is to be deducted each month from my card account. I haven't even touched any of this product because of a medical problem I know have. After reviewing a company called Burnfat.net on the net they stated that this product Cylapril doesn't have any traces of a weight losing indigredient in them. And also that they charge way too much for these pills.

I have decided to cancel the rest of the order. I have sent the company a Email to ask them can they cancel my order. I will know this week if they can. If not I will have to cancel my bank credit card to keep them from deducting any more money from my account. It has been only 4 days since the expiration of the trial order.
