In July 2003, the Federal Trade Commission reached a $5 million settlement with Ab Energizer and makers of similar gadgets.
Teryl of Troutman NC (11/13/07) I ordered one of the units from the Ab Energizer infomercial on 12/15/01 and received it sometime in late January or early February. I was billed $120.75 on my credit card. I returned the unit sometime in February, 2002 to the Fulfillment Center for Ab Energizer. I included a copy of the invoice along with a note asking for a refund to be credited back to my original method of payment. I emailed "orders@abenergizer.com" in September, 2002 as instructed by the call center, with no response about my refund. I repeatedly tried calling and emailing only to find the number disconnected and no such address exists on internet.
It is now November, 2007, and I am still waiting on my refund with no response from Ab Energizer. I am out of $120.75, not to mention the aggravation and humiliation of being duped by a disreputable organization.
Delisa of Philadelphia PA (10/30/07) I bought an Ab Energizer and it did not work, and I never got my refund!
Carol of San Bernardino CA (01/20/07) I ordered on Jan 31, 2002. I was charged for the product on my credit card $ 119.76 and I never got the product or a refund for it. Because the company advised me to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery and then another month for the dispute, my credit card company company refused to intervene based on how long I waited.
Regina of Dry Ridge KY (07/26/02) The ab energizer products did not show results that were guaranteed. Also After taking the dietary supplements and vitamins that came with this product I was in the er due to a reaction , that I was told due to the amount of niacin in these pills. My docter said this would happen to any one taking these pills, and that they should not be allowed to sell them, they could be very dangerous to your health.
Carolin of Calimesa CA (07/10/02) I ordered an Ab Energizer in January of 2002 with extra power units the total price being $120.22 when the product arrived the two extra power units were missing. I tried to contact the company and was never able to get through to anyone. The product was also very uncomfortable to wear,it irritated my skin. I returned the product within the 30 day return policy and never heard from them or recieved a refund.
I have spent a great deal of time trying to contact there company be phone and have written to there address explaning the problem. My letter was returned with no response. This has caused me alot of wasted time and stress over the last five months!
Rachelle of Riverdale GA (05/15/02) An order was placed for the Ab Belt. I placed an order with a Mary. SHe gave me a total of $78.85. I thought I was over charged so the next day I called to cancel the order. After months and months of trying to cancel my order, I spoke with a female manager by the name of Chris. She advised me that my order will be cancelle an apologized for any inconvenience. The next month I get my bank statement and it shows that this compaany billed me anyways. I called and they stated that a refund will take about 6-8 weeks to be refunded. I still have not received my refund and as of 3 weeks ago the Ab belt was delivered to my home. This company is not answering the phone and the wait time is ridiculous.
Carlos of Miami Beach FL (02/26/02) On December 6 of 2001, I called the 800# for an advertisement I saw on TV for Ab Energizer. My Fianc placed the order with the telemarketer that answered the phone. With the order, the telemarketer, offered several different items ranging from vitamins to travel discounts. Not wanting any items, I said no (several different times throughout her spiel) to everything besides the ab energizer and my fianc gave her my credit card number. Know here is the problem, it is now Feb. 26, 2002 and since Dec. 6 I have yet to receive the Ab Energizer but the CC charge cleared on Feb. 7. I have tried to call their 800# several times but the line is always busy. Further more, I was also charged $96.00 on Jan. 25 from a company called MWI Essential (800-809-0550). They are a Diet-Vitamin Company that stated I had placed an order with them (Ab energizer- the one I said NO to), they were nice enough to refund my money within a week but I still went through the hard time of bouncing a check because I was not aware of that charge going into my account.

Cynthia of St. Cloud MN (4/15/03):
I purchased this abenergizer belt 2 years ago. It caused burn marks on my stomach. Horrified, I sent the whole kit back within 30 days to get my whole refund as they claimed I could. I have e-mailed and written and made numerous phone calls and have gotten no response as to my refund. I paid $70 for the kit and at this point I am furious that so much time has passed and I have gotten no response. The better business bureau website reads that there is no report on them as of now. How do I proceed? I have no receipt because I send it all backin the mail.
Even with proper use of the equipment I received burn holes on my stomach at the contact points of the belt.
Dorise of East Cleveland OH (10/30/02):

Barbara of Revere PA (3/20/03):
Ordered the product back in February 2002. They charged my credit card $72.90. Have not received the product or a refund. Cannot contact anyone by mail, email, phone, fax.
Lorett of Flagstaff AZ (2/28/03):
I ordered the Ab Enegizer in April 2002, the money (over $73.00) was taken out of my checking account on April 29, 2002. I still to this day have not received the product! I have sent numerous e-mails and letters but have never received any answers from this company. All I want is MY MONEY BACK! I was not making a donation to this company.
Michael of Greenwood CA (10/29/02):
I ordered an Ab Energizer from the ad I saw on TV on February 12th, 2001. My credit card (American Express) was billed $193.00, $85.00 more than I was told it would cost ($108.00) when the order was placed. I didn't realize this until I received the statement from American Express at the beginning of April, 2002. In April I called the number I originally placed the order with and told them to cancel the order and credit my credit card, which they said would be done.
In May I received a package what I believed contained the items that I cancelled the order for. I didn't open the package and had it returned to the sender. On 5/21/02 "Alex" from Ab Energizer responded to my email requesting the refund. His email stated "Your order is in process of a refund, please allow 1-2 billing cycles for credit to post." I have phoned, emailed and mailed Ab Energizer (as instructed on the 1-800 #) and still have not been refunded. As of 10/29/02 my American Express card has NOT been credited.
Michael should have notified American Express right away and told them he wanted to dispute the charge.
Tom of Meridian MS (9/11/02):
I ordered the belt and extra stimulators totaling $107.75, didn't receive the product for about 4 to 6 weeks so called and cancelled order. I talked to a Vicky in customer service and was assured the money would be back in my account. That was April the 23, 2002 it is September 11,2002 and still no refund.
I'm a single father raising four boys and was just trying to get in shape to keep up with them, my oldest is 16. It is hard enough raising these four and financually I really couldn't afford it but I figured in the long run I would be healthier and could do more with them.
Caron of Elmira NY (9/9/02):
I ordered the Ab-Energizer in December of 2001. I also ordered an extra set of power units. I have yet to receive either! I don't want them now knowing that they are a fallacy. I have tried to contact this company several times. The first few times they claimed the product was on back order but on its way. Now you can't even reach them by the customer service number they gave upon order. The account doesn't exist on the line.

I followed the diet which came with the "AB Energizer", I used the belt and the gel, although one of the belt's part sdid not work at all. The other part worked but just sent shocks to my skin and burnt it. I would like a refund. I spent my money on what I thought wold improve my physical appearance, instead I received this product and got absolutely NO RESULTS!
