Vickie of Yucca Valley CA writes (7/4/03):
I, along with a volunteer from Childrens Hospital in L.A. gave Heather $1145.00 for a headstone marker for my son's grave. It has been over 2 years and we still have no headstone. I contacted Fox 11 news about this woman and they went to her home and place of business and decided to do the story. Heather Aiken has now been calling my mother over 150 times and also Fox 11 news several times because she is scared of the truth that may come out. My reason for writing you is Heather sent my mother a personal check for the amount of only $850.00. However the check cannot be cashed because she has left several messages on my mothers voice mail telling my mother not to cash the check, that it will not clear and she will let my mother know when there will be funds in there so she can cash it. But she told Fox 11 she sent a check for the monies owed on the 9th, the day before the news went to her home to question her, however I have a post dated envelope for the 10th. Anyway I was wondering how in the world I will get my money back. We already got the headstone from another marker company with the help of Fox 11 and I am sitting here with a check for only $850.00 that I cannot even cash. This makes no sense. People should not be allowed to prey on grieving families and take advantage of them. I have voice mail messages that I put on tape where this woman threatened me. She said to my mother, "If Vickie thinks this is over it is far from over, there are people out there that are very upset with her." There are a couple of issues here. One is the money. Vickie should immediately sue Little Heroes and Vickie in Small Claims Court to get her money back. As for allegations of fraud and threats, she should contact the Los Angeles District Attorney's office. |
