I went to the IHOP in Dolton, IL on Torrence. I had a coupon for Bogo. The manager would not take it because I didn't' have the entire sheet I printed though I had the entire coupon. She said they had to mail it in and needed the full sheet. I have always just cut out the coupon. I was there with my sister and our meals were $7 each and I feel I should receive the value of a meal since they would not honor the coupon. I believe the manager's name was **. We were at the restaurant around 1:30 or 2pm on Saturday, the 19th of May.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Today, 4/27/12, my wife and I went to have breakfast at your restaurant # 1957 at 2501 S. I-35 Service Road Moore, OK 73160. We got there at 9:10 a.m. and after ordering 15 minutes later, the food did not arrive for 30 minutes. Then we noticed that my order was wrong and after getting what I requested it was cold. Between the time it took to order, the waiting to get it and the food wrong and cold, it was an absolute horrible breakfast experience. Finally we left at 10:15 a.m. saying to ourselves in the car, this is a restaurant from IHOP that we will never visit again.

My brother invited my mother and me for breakfast. We were undecided: IHOP or Denny's? My brother said that we should try IHOP. We arrived and our waiter was very nice and her service was great. It all started when we were going to pay. I printed coupons from my computer before we left home and I tried to use them. The letters were kind of small, but you can read them. The girl that was up front and said, "I can't see it. I'll be right back." Then, the manager came out and said the coupons are expired and old - he said I made a copy! My answer was, of course, I printed them before I left my house. He answered, "I'm not going to sit here and argue. Besides, the portion of the paper you cut out doesn't even fit here." We said you got to be kidding - here is the paper with today's date that shows I printed the coupon today and we just cut them before we left the table to pay. Well, I'll give you 20% off. My coupon was one free breakfast. We were going to use two to pay different tabs.
Our family was very disappointed. We had a good breakfast and it was just ruined because of his personal opinion regarding the coupons. We felt like idiots asking for something that it was clear. All I said was I have worked for customer service before and you don't yell at the customer and make them feel stupid. Do you think I'm going to recommend my friends and family here? I don't think so. Good luck being the manager and the example for your employees showing them customer service satisfaction. The store number is 946 and it is located at 915 Avenida Pico, San Clemente, CA 92673. The manager's name is **. You don't treat customers the way we were treated. Please have somebody talk to ** and let him know he is not helping to make people want to come back. It was really a bad experience. Our total was $57.23 (paid with a debit card under the name of Octavio ** at 11:40 am). Thank you.

In December of 2011, me and my friends decided to go to IHOP in Totowa, NJ for a quick bite to eat. When I placed my order and got my food, our waitress was absolutely rude, she seemed annoyed to be even serving us. After having this uncomfortable experience with the staff, three months later (3/12/2012), a transaction from IHOP shows up on my bank statement.
They decided to wait 3 months to pass in order to charge my card. At this time in my life I am unemployed and I really cannot afford to be paying overdraft fees! This should have been done 3 months ago when I had a job! Thanks IHOP for putting me in more debt! You just lost a faithful family of 25 no longer going to your establishment!

I was always able to order the Yankee pot roast without onions or mushrooms gravy. Sunday evening, we went to the IHOP we always go to in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. I ordered my usual Yankee pot roast with just plain gravy, but was told I would have to order it with onions and mushrooms. So we settled for a breakfast meal instead. Customers should be able to have their food the way they like it. I guess we won't be going to IHOP for Sunday dinner anymore. We'll go somewhere that we can have the pot roast the way we like it. IHOP are the losers, not us.

I arrived at IHOP a 3:50. No water nor soda. No waiter came to the table until 4:45. I asked to talk to the manager and he said they were short of help. He added he will make sure my order would get put in. My food started coming at 5:20. First the pancakes came, then the bacon came ten minutes later, and then the hash brown arrived after twelve minutes. We never got the two chicken salads.

Unsanitary, terrible language - My husband and I had gone to breakfast early after he got off from work around 5am. We went to the IHOP on Perkins Rd here in Memphis, we go in the floors are filthy, servers playing around as well as the cook, and manager, our server was doing her job about the only good experience we had. The cook wasn't in the kitchen when we walked in, I noticed he wasn't wearing a hair net. I asked our server who would be fixing our food, she assured us he wasn't and he didn't.
Shortly, after she got our order, there was a lot of cursing coming from the servers area manager included. Once again, our server apologized and explained the inexperience staff that worked there. I told her no matter what the whole scene of the restaurant was not professional being a manager of over 20 years, no excuse for it. And what is really inexcusable is the manager never made an apology to her customers.

Every time I have been in the Elizabeth City at 1700 City Center Blvd Ihop, the syrup containers are sticky and the table, salt & pepper shakers are dirty. I watched one worker swipe over a table and walk away; there still was food on it and he never wiped any of the condiments .Your workers should take pride in their job and the company they work for. They get paid for doing a job and I don't see that. My late visit was 2/12/2012 at about 7:00.

I wanted to know the amount of crepes offered for the international crepe passport. She first said "I don't know" and asked another customer who didn't know either. She then started looking at the computer and said 4 crepes are offered. I said, "Are you sure?" She said "yes I am sure" because she said she was sure she started to search for it and couldn't find it. She then asked another worker and that worker knew and said only two smaller crepes are offered.
I then shook my head and said to her, "you see" and started to reorder when she started talking over me and told me to shut up and let her speak. We exchanged words. I asked for the manager, who started to console her instead of asking what the problem is. He came out and actually apologized for her because he didn't want her upset. I was offered a free drink by another worker that begged me not to make a complaint. This store needs training in customer service for all employees!

The manager told us to leave the restaurant because they are closing. However, upon our leaving, we saw new customers going in and being served. He lied to us because the front door sign stated clear "open 24 hours". He discriminated against us because we are non-whites.

I stopped by the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) located at 4000 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, Florida this morning. I ordered the 2+2+2 from the senior menu, two eggs, 2 sausage links and two butter milk pancakes. When the meal arrived, the scrambled eggs were floating in cooking oil. I told the waitress I couldn't eat them. She reordered my eggs over medium at my request. When they arrived they were covered in cooking oil as well.
After seeing the look on my face, she said that is the way it is on Sundays. Meaning they are too busy to give me properly cooked eggs, I assume. So, what she was telling me is that the quality of food is lower on Sundays because they are too busy to make it right! What kind of crap is that? With this mentality, how do they manage to stay in business? There are other restaurants that will gladly take my business.

I was ignored when I entered. My server was Rosa. She was rude and didn't want to accept my table. She was slow at delivering my food because she was arguing with someone in the front. She was loud and speaking profanities. She made me and others want to leave. I'll not be returning as long as the service is so unprofessional.

Today June 28, 2011 on a return trip from Laguardia airport, my daughter and I stopped to eat at IHOP. It had been a hectic morning and we wanted to enjoy a nice quiet meal. When we arrived, we were seated in the back (even after I told the hostess that I preferred to sit in front). Two tables from us was a party of six who were loud and unruly throughout the meal. Our waitress, nor any of the bothered to try and quiet them down even though my daughter and I could barely hear one another. We suffered through the meal and reported it to the manager who did not give us her name, nor was she wearing a name badge of identification. She apologized, but refused to offer any type of compensation. I am a 76 year old woman who has a right to eat, pay and enjoy her meal. I feel as though my daughter and I should receive more than an apology for our ordeal.
Although there were no economic nor physical damage that resulted from this, as a long time customer of our Stamford, CT restaurant I feel that my rights as a consumer were violated. The loud, rude party of six should have been asked to tune it down or leave. This type of behavior would have never been acceptable at the IHOP located on Summer Street in Stamford, CT.

This happened a few weeks ago, but it was too blog-worthy to leave alone. I covered Bob Stoops' press conference in Norman, and I decided to go to IHOP to write my story before heading south to Riverwind for a poker session.
I wasn't even hungry, but I wanted to order something since I was taking up a table. I glanced through the menu and noticed they had a new strawberry cheesecake dessert, so I ordered it. You could get the cheesecake by itself for $4.69 or get it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for $4.99. Obviously I got the ice cream.
I got started on my story and tried to fire up the internet, but it wasn't working. I mentioned it to the waitress but I wasn't really worried about it since I've filed lots of stories from IHOPs and they usually have reliable wireless access.
After 15 minutes, I still had no dessert and no internet. I thought it was odd since they just pull these desserts out of the freezer, but my story was almost done and I didn't really care about the food. Finally, the waitress walks up with a plate piled high with pancakes covered in strawberries. She also brought me a separate bowl with one scoop of ice cream. I said, "No, I didn't have the strawberry pancakes, I had the strawberry cheesecake." She apologized and went back.
Another 15 minutes goes by, and as I'm finishing the story the waitress walks up with guess what, some more *** pancakes covered in strawberries! I said, "No, I don't want pancakes. I wanted the strawberry cheesecake. " She said, "Yeah I know, there's cheesecake bits inside the pancake." (Huge sigh, palm pounding on forehead. ) I said, "Bring me a menu," and I pointed to the strawberry cheesecake on the menu. She said, "Oh, you just wanted the cheesecake."
It only took a second for her to bring that out, while I still couldn't get the internet to work to send my story. I asked for my check along with the cheesecake, though I should have never given her a dime. I kind of felt sorry for her.
So she brings the check and the cheesecake, while informing me that IHOP's internet is down today. That's nice. And my check is for more than $10 despite the cheesecake being listed at $4.99 on the menu. They charged me $7.99 for strawberry cheesecake pancakes and $1.99 for a side of ice cream, plus tax. I said, "I got charged for the strawberry cheesecake pancakes but the cheesecake I ordered was only $4.99. "
When she got back from fixing that, she made sure to mention that she had to eat my pancakes because she gets one free meal a day, and if she didn't eat them as her meal she would be charged personally for them. I couldn't even muster any fake sympathy for that. I gave her a $20 bill and waited for the change. She returned with a $10 bill and said, "Hey, you never ate your ice cream. " That would be because it was totally melted by the time I got the cheesecake. I said, "You still owe me money. Remember, the cheesecake was only $5."
I found some matches in my car but getting an accelerant would have been inconvenient, so I decided not to burn the place down. Besides, I still had to find internet access to send my *** football story.

When you enter the restaurant, there is a sign saying "Senior Night, Monday and Wednesday, if your order one entree, the second entree is free if you order drinks."
There is absolutely nothing restricting what you can order on the sign. However, when you go to pay, they do not allow the free dinner if you have ordered from the senior specials. They said that this is printed somewhere on the menu. Again, it is not stated on the main sign. I have a picture of the sign if it is needed. We had to pay for the second entree, about $6.99.

A group of several young men in their early twenties were loitering outside of the facility, shouting threats/harassing customers and entering and exiting the business. This occurred shortly before midnight on September 21. A waitress explained that the guys were acting this way because of a recent break-up between one of the young men and a waitress. They had vandalized the store days prior. They were sitting on my car, refusing to move even after the car alarm was sounded. When I spoke with the manager, he claimed that he would not call the police (in spite of the danger these guys had inflicted against a waitress (they came in abruptly and threatened her a few nights prior).
Even then, the police weren't called. I was told that "I could" call the police if I wanted. Furthermore, the manager claimed that he would neither directly instruct the violators to leave nor call the police because of his own fear of a busted lip. So, as a very frightened customer, I was left to fend for myself. I had to wait an hour after eating before I felt safe leaving. I believe that the restaurant had a duty to me in this case, although I'm not sure exactly what it is.

I arrived at your restaurant at 11:15 pm and did not get served until 12:20 am. I grew angry because I never had this problem before at ihop. I usually go to the ihop on American way and Perkin, however the location I choose on union is closer to my job. I spoke to some foreign manager who refused to give me a phone number but insisted that I go on line to file my complaint. I will not eat at any ihop again if you all share the same attitude that this manager has shown me.

I travel a lot and eat at IHOP all the time. Every time, I order the same thing. The BLT sandwich, which the menu says comes with 6 slices of bacon, they never put 6 slices. I have complained every time and talked to managers and sent in a complaint letter to the one in Clovis. They all still continue to short you on the bacon! This is their common practice and I don't think they are going to change unless someone, other than the managers, steps in. They are cheating the customers every time. This is embarrassing as I do take my sandwich apart and show them each time that they have not put the 6 slices in the sandwich. If this happened occasionally or at one IHOP, I could call it an honest mistake. But when you eat there 2-3 times a week and it always happens, then they are deliberately shorting the customer.

On Saturday June 26 2010, My husband and I went to have breakfast to this restaurant. Nobody was there to greet us and we had to sit ourselves. The waitress took so long that my husband had to go to the register and ask for our server. The person on the register did not understand a word of English and did nothing. Finally Karen, so it was the name tag she had came with such an attitude towards our table that she asked us "are you ready?" I told her ready for what and who are you? She rolled her eyes and I felt so bad and I decided I had lost my appetite. She rolled her eyes again and said OK with a smirk on her face. The restaurant was so dirty and unsanitary that I was happy to no have eaten there.

I went to dinner at IHOP with my family. We have been going there almost every 2 weeks for years now but this was different. The waiter, extremely rude kept standing on our head to ask for the order. Finally when we ordered, he got the first order for my kids and one plate of pancakes. Since I was not that hungry my wife and I decided to share and see if we need more we will order more. We asked for a plate which he made a big deal about and then totally forgot about us. He would not come near our table. We needed water - no service, coffee - no service he totally went MIA!
We then asked the other waiter to bring our server. Once he came we asked for water and wanted to order pancakes. He refused, he said we can't share. We were totally surprised - I am paying for the second plate of pancake and we can't share? We called the manager - because we did not believe he knew what we were saying. The manager came and he did absolutely nothing.
We said this is not good service and we will complain to the owner. To my surprise the guy said, "Go ahead, he is my dad." Well dad, your son is going to run the place to the ground with his customer service skills before you know it. Take care of your business and get someone to take care of it. Needless to say we are never going there again. On another note I think USCIS - ICE needs to visit this place - something seems out of place.

IHOP IS RUNNING A BAIT AND SWITCH SCHEME. They offer kids meals free with the purchase of an adult entree. When you check out they raise the price of your receipt on the cash register and take off the kids meal on the inflated amount. They do not give your receipt back so you can't check the amount you were actually discounted. This has happened at two different local IHOP's my family went to.
Example: MY BILL WAS $41.00 WE HAD TWO ADULT ENTREES AND TWO KIDS MEALS. THE KIDS MEALS WERE $5.00 EACH. I SHOULD HAVE PAID $31.00 BUT WAS CHARGED $37.00. WHEN SHE RUNG ME UP THE REGISTER SHOWED $46.00 AND NOT THE $41.00 SHOWN ON MY RECEIPT from the WAITRESS THAT WAS BROUGHT TO MY TABLE AND I WAS DISCOUNTED ON $46.00 NOT $41.00.
The consequences suffered is bait and switch. They make you think they are giving you a discount on the kids meal and you probably will be willing to buy a few more food items because you will have a few extra dollars on your tab.

Waited 15minutes to get in. Sat and waited 20 just to greet. Asked to speak to manager who brought us the cutlery. 10 minutes to take the order. 40 minutes to get our food order incomplete! My child was very hungry and tired of waiting.10 minutes to complete my order with toast. Service was awful. Found wrapping paper on my overcooked steak. (I have pictures Manager was rude and staff at the register used profanity when I paid my bill.

We entered to eat breakfast at 5:45 am. When the waitress came to take our order, we replied we're not ready so we told the waitress to give us some time. When she came back we asked for coffee. She returned 25 minutes later to only take one of our orders. Others entered the restaurant, and we were forgotten. We had to get the manager's attention and he did nothing. He said he would call the police, because the waitress told him we wanted free food. We replied go ahead, we did nothing wrong, and you are not treating us fairly.
We didn't get served anything BUT COFFEE. Then after speaking with the manager, we left after his threat to call the police. As we were walking out the door 2 police officers entered, and we spoke with Officer Cook of the Arlington County's Police Department. He in turn spoke with the manager and gave us contact information which lead us to you.

i has been awhile either in july or august my wife and i went there for sunday breakfast. my wifes eggs were cold and not cooked. both of our hash browns were not cooked and cold. my wheat toast was old and curled up with no butter like had been sitting for awhile or an order that someone didn't take. i told the lady she brought me more and it was the same way like the loaf of bread had sat for awhile. and my water glass was full of grease on one side. the waitress was sorry and said you didn't have a very good breakfase did you. we had eaten there before and had poor quality , thoght we would give them another chance and it was worse.
contacted ihop by email two times and no rsponse whatsoever. so apparently they endorse this type service

We arrived there on Monday 5th, 2004 at about 10:35 am. We were told by the employee handling the seating that the wait would be about 25 minutes. We waiting for about 25-30 minutes in packed waiting area. Some of the tables we could see were perfectly clean and empty yet the waiting room was totally full to a point people had to wait outside.
Finally we were led to our seats. We watched a few minutes later other people being seated behind us and in front. Still looking around most of the tables were empty, nearly half of them were. We waited and waited for nearly 15 minutes for our server to actually comes and take our order, by this time even the people that came in after out were already receiving their order. Out server was never around and when he was around he was serving his only other table, the one in front of us. He neither apologized for this, nor he seem to care.
Buy the time we actually made our orders, the table behind of and in front had already been served, and exactly 25-30 minutes of waiting and STILL not receiving our orders (by this time not only had the table in front of us were nearly done with their breakfast, but a few tables actually seated after us were leaving). If anyone out there finds this completely disrespectful and disgusting quality of service I ask you to never eat their.
Well for one consequence it was a simple breakfast for someones birthday. How's that.
