Chili's Grill & Bar

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Chili's does not provide pricing in their drinks menu. The store manager states that it's a corporate choice, so when you order a drink, you have no idea how much you will be charged. You can ask for prices and they will give them to you, but as I saw, what the waitress told me was different than what I was charged. Is it legal in FL not to have the prices on the menu?

I am a frequent patron of this establishment and on many occasions, I have over heard as well as been addressed by the General Manager as a **** type of person. On Sunday, December 4, 2011, I was patronizing this establishment when one of the waitresses dropped a tray of dishes and splashed sour cream all over me and my coat. When asked for the manager, I was giving the run around then a few gentlemen got into an altercation outside and I attempted to break it up. After I came back to have dinner with my daughter, I was informed that I was no longer allowed in the establishment.

I inquired why this was and they informed me that I was involved with the altercation even though they have been informed by the actual culprits and I had nothing to do with it. That evening, as I explained to the General Manager, he told me that he was tired of dealing with my type of people and he hoped we would all go to hell. I then contacted Mr. Mike ****, the CEO and he informed me that there was no resolution.

I went to eat lunch at Chili's. We waited 15 minutes to be seated. The host was in the back. The time was 11:15, and the place was not busy. After we were seated, we waited 10 minutes for a waiter. We finally got frustrated and left this Chili's. It was in Ada, Oklahoma, and I will tell all my friends not go to Chili's in Ada, Oklahoma.

Today, we went to Chili's for lunch; my husband and I. First, we received an awful appetizer of Chili fries that taste like the cast iron skillet it was served in. Then, my entree of quesadillas chicken had a cooked fly on it and another piece had fly wings cooked on it. I'm 8 months pregnant and this just disgusted me to the fullest. I had to excuse myself to the bathroom to throw up. I then threw up several times on my way home. Manager Matt came over to the table to address the problem, saw the fly and agreed that it was indeed a fly. He took our plates and said he would take care of us. He never returned to the table, until my husband got upset. He came back and said he took care of our bill and offered up passes to come back, which I thought was a slap in the face considering what just happened!

It was a terrible service. Our waitress never paid much attention to our table; it was dirty, and she never came to check on us to see if we needed anything. She gave us an attitude that was very rude! We spent a total of $80 for service I would expect from McDonald's. I not sure if I would ever go there again.

We had very poor service from the waitress. We spoke with the manager, Tish. She fixed the receipt totaling $26.00, which was still incorrect. We gave her $40. She short changed, us giving us $10, instead of $14. She could barely comprehend our complaint in the first place. After realizing we were short changed, we went back. We gave her the change she had given, to count for herself. She didn't even want to give us the remaining money back.

Finally, after convincing her of her error, she proceeded to give us a $20 bill, and 3 $5 gift certificates, even after we made it clear that we would never come back to Chili's again. Now, we have gift certificates that are basically worthless to us. During the meal, it did not taste right, and suddenly I had to vomit. Besides the vomiting, we are completely, and totally stressed out over this. We wanted to have a nice, quiet, decent, lunch, and instead we got ill and the runaround.

On December 26, 2008, I took my mother, son and daughter to eat at Chili's Grill & Bar. We arrived at approximately 4:45 p.m. and were seated promptly. The hostess who took us to our table was very rude and just dropped our menus on our table. She did not identify herself nor did she tell how soon our waiter would be with us. I figures we did not have a long wait since the restaurant was not full and waiters were standing around conversing.

Approximately 25 minutes later, we had not been waited on. I went to the desk and asked for the Manager on Duty. I was informed there was on Manager on Duty, and instead, was referred to the bartender. When he was free, he came over and asked what was the problem. I said we had sat for 25 mintues and no waiter had come to our table. He took our order at approximately 5:27 p.m. We were in the restaurant a total of 1 hour and 35 minutes from the time we were seated, served and finished with our meals. We were the only Asians (Vietnamese) in the restaurant.

As we sat there, we observed people arriving and seated after us, were served first and left before us. We were all embarrassed and angry in the manner in which we were treated. It is fair to say, we personally felt we were discriminated because of our race and the fact that we were the only Asians in the restaurant.

On December 27, 2008, having explained to my friend, Leonard, about my experience at Chili's, he filed a complaint with Gabriel G on our behalf and voiced our displeasure with the service and treatment we received at Chili's. Instead of Gabriel G responding to our complaint, he forwarded to Kathy E, supposedly one of the three Managers on Duty at this location. She emailed me on December 28, 2008 and requested I call her on her cell phone.

On Monday, December 29, 2008, I did call her. She informed me she was on duty on December 26th, but that she was confined to her office because of her broken leg. Were her staff members lying about her availability or was she really at the restaurant? When I called, she had already read the complaint filed. She still wanted to hear from me what happened. I informed her everything on the complaint was exactly what happened. She informed me she would email Leonard, for what reasons, I never knew. She never did. Leonard again filed a followup with Gabriel G and no response. As a matter of fact, nothing has been heard from either. I file this complaint because I don't other Asians to go through the same treatment we did. I believe this was uncalled for and Chili's has not assumed any responsibility, much less the courtesy of any professionalism in dealing with me regarding this matter.

Yes, we stayed at Chili's until served. We had been shopping at Colorado Mills all day, and this restaurant was the more convenient. I paid $38.53 plus 10% tip for service that was not a pleasant experience. I will request every cent I paid and more. It will be my intent to hold Gabriel G and Kathy E accountable for their ineptness in making an effort to correct the type of service not compatible with what you would call customer excellence.

I had visited this restaurant on Wednesday the 16th of Jan. of 2008. The waiter was rude and unobservant. He told us we would have to pay the bill before we recieved our food for some strange reason he explained. We are black so I didnt know if it had to do with the color of our skin. Moreover, the food was horrible and the service was really bad. I asked for a cup to to-go and usually they give you a lid and a straw but he didnt even do that.

My wife presented a gift card she had received from a student and was told that it had expired. She could not understand how it could expire when someone had paid cash for it, Chili's received the cash, and now because it had not been used within a year, the value was gone. She did not think it was fair for Chili's to make money off the cards and then write off the value when no goods or services had been rendered to the card holder.

Afterwards, she called other businesses with which we have gift cards for and found that this was also their practice. How can this be legal? Shouldn't people be told to stop supporting this rip off to the public.
