Baskin-Robbins

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I worked at the Baskin-Robbins in Huntsville, Alabama. Well, they trained me three days and now they said they can't pay me. They have to. It's called labor! Well, I contacted the Dept. of Labor and I'm waiting to hear something from them. I could understand if I did paperwork for all three days, but I did hands on. I made ice cream cones for people and I made Cappy Blast. I cleaned, etc. All I want is my money. I even told my mom, I said, "They didn't even make me fill out a tax form. Shouldn't they have?"

I had a coupon for two scoop sundaes for $2.29 so I bought two-scoop sundaes trusting that they would be two scoops. However, it was about a tablespoon instead of a scoop. Both supposed scoops in each were less than a scoop in a cone!

We were there for almost five minutes b4 the employee turned around and looked at us. Never said hello or asked what we wanted, we had to tell her. The only words she spoke was $5.68. The floor and tables had been mopped and washed with dirty water and rags. You could see the streaks from dirty water and dirty mop and rags on the tables and floor. The bathroom was so dirty. I can't believe the employees use it. This was at Broadway, the store in Columbia, mo. I have never been treated so rudely. I will never go back.

I ordered two scoops of ice cream and asked the manager (Mike ** is the name he gave me) to add chocolate syrup and whip cream. This came up to $6.13. I told him this was ridiculous and he said, "oh well". I said what's the difference in this and the two scoop sundae, he said it's cheaper. I asked for my money and he would not return it. I told him he could keep the sundae. I was so pissed off. I will never go back to that store again!

We arrived at 8:30 pm on 06/28/09 to buy ice cream for my two daughters and my husband. We were told that we could buy it, but we had to eat it outside. They have a sign which says they close at 10:00 pm. I felt very humiliated. I did not argue with the employee, but I would like to know if this is right. She said that the owner of the store is the one asking to do it like this. My family and the other family who was with us buying ice cream felt very bad. Because our children enjoy going to this store, we bought the ice cream and ate it outside. I want to know if it is okay for the owner to request such thing. Thank you very much for your cooperation to this matter. My concern is because it was the first time that I went to a place that asked me to eat outside. They don't have the drive-thru service; I understand that when you order through this, you want to eat outside in your car.

I WENT FOR TUESDAY 2 FOR 1 SUNDAY SPECIAL,MY DAUGHTER ORDERED 2 SCOOP SUNDAY WITH NO TOPPINGS,I ORDERED A 2SCOOP SUNDAY WITH MARSHMALLOW TOPPING. THEY CHARGED ME FOR BOTH I SAID ITS 2 FOR 1 THEY SAID ONLY FOR SUNDAYS YOU GOT 2 SCOOPS WE HAVE SMALLER SCOOPERS FOR SUNDAYS.ISAID ITS TUESDAY I ORDERED 2 SCOOP SUNDAYS THEY SAID YOU ASKED FOR 2 SCOOPS,THE SALES REP STARTED TELLING ME I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT AND EMBARRASING ME IN FRONT OF MY DAUGHTER AND 5-6 CUSTOMERS I ASKED THE MANAGER WHO WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE IF THIS IS ANYWAY YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS HE JUST SHRUGGED,I SAID THIS IS A BAIT AND SWITCH YOU ANVERTISE 2 FOR 1 SUNDAYS THEN WHEN PEOPLE ORDER 2 SCOOP SUNDAY YOU DO LARGER SCOOP AND CHARGE THEM DOUBLE,IT'S A SCAM.WHY WOULD YOU CHARGE MORE FOR A SUNDAY AND GIVE THE CUSTOMER A SMALLER SCOOP?I JUST PAID THE FULL PRICE AND LEFT.

I ordered a birthday cake for my son to be picked up on Tues.1/31/06. I ordered a white sponge cake/ cookies and cream ice cream cake and was charged $40.98. ($31.99 for the cake and $8.99 for the birthday design). I picked up the cake on Tues. at 5:00 but did not cut the cake untill about 8:30 that night. At this time I discovered that the cake was chocolate cake / cookies and cream ice cream. I was very disappointed because no one in my household, including my son eats chocolate cake. I called the store and spoke to the same person that put my order in. He apologized for the mistake that the store made and asked if I wanted to bring the cake back but the cake was already cut and I did not want to leave my son's party with a half melted ice cream cake to go back to the store so I declined.

He told me to call the manager in the morning to see if there was something he could do to help me. The next morning I phoned the manager and explained to him my situation. He asked if I still had the cake. I told him no because i did not have freezer spaces to store the cake. He then stated that I did not pay $8.99 extra for white sponge cake. I explained to him that I paid what I was charged and that I was not told that I had to pay extra for white cake and in fact that I'd never heard of any Baskin Robbins charging extra for white cake. He then told me that he was looking at my receipt and that it indicated that I ordered chocolate cake.

I told him thta he could not be looking at my receipt because I spoke to the person that took my order last night and he confirmed that my receipt indicated white sponge cake. Since it was obvious that he was now trying to make me out to be a liar, I told him that I would come to the store to see the receipt. I later went to the store later to get the manager's name and store # to make a complaint. I did not want a refund but just an apology and to be treated like I was a human being. The store manager (Kevin Brown) was extremely rude, refused to give me his full name, and then had the nerve to point to the ice cream asking me if I could read and then asking me how could I eat cookies and cream ice cream and not chocolate cake. He is a very rude, nasty person and I will never purchase another thing from Baskin Robbins again although I've purchased birthday cakes for over 10 years from them. There is also no sign in the store about these "extra" costs.

On October,9 2005 at 3:42 p.m. My wife ordered the same Wild mango smoothie that she had ordered in the past. Upon tasting the drink she gained a look of disgust on her face. I then tasted the drink which tasted like rotten mangos. Our friend chris smelled the drink and was repulsed by the smell He commented that the drink smelled like the fruit in it was rotten. We notified the clerk that there was a problem. She said "no problem" repeating the words several times. Kim then put the drink on the counter stating that she did not want the drink because of the horrible taste that with the same drink she had not experienced in the past. The clerk offered to mix yogert with the rotten drink to help the problem. We declined and left the store distraugt and with a bad taste left in our mouths.
