US Loan Assistance Center

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Like many others, USLAC asked for $2500 in the service of helping us modify our house mortgage. We have to pay the above amount as an advanced fee for loan modification service. I complied all their requirements, papers, letters. In the contract, they will return 50% of the fee if our loan would not be modified. This happened in May-June 2009.

We finally got the message that the bank denied our modification plea and supposed to refund $1250. This happened last November 2009, but around December to January, nobody would return our calls/emails, no more communication until I read in their website that they are closed. All $2500 gone for nothing. If in anyway people will be filing a mass lawsuit against this company, I am joining, please email me. Thanks. $2500 is a hard-earned money for me and my husband. Very depressing financially and emotionally.

I heard their advertisement on the radio and I started the process with Jason A, Jason S and Bianca S. I sent them a total of $1,500.00 that was in October of 2009. I have had some email conversations but I have not received mortgage relief and I have not received any of my money. I have continued to be behind on my mortgage and I have been robbed, scammed out of 1,500 dollars.

I paid US Loan Assistance Center $1995.00 on June 18, 2009. I filed for their home loan modification application and never got any result from them.

We got behind on or mortgage because my husband lost his job. We heard an advertisement on the radio for a modification company that guarantees results. We contacted USLAC and spoke with Cory. He e-mailed the appropriate paperwork and we filled it out. They deducted $1,000 from our checking account and started the process. We were told not to contact our lender that they would do all the negotiations.

When my husband got back to work, we wanted to start making the mortgage payments and spoke with the representative from USLAC. We were advised that if we sent any payments that the mortgage company wouldn't do the modification. Every time we called to check on the progress of our modification, we would get some generic answer and we would have to leave a message for a person in the processing department. In December approximately three months after we started the process, we received foreclosure papers.

I again called USLAC, only this time, all the numbers we had would just ring. There was no answer or recording. I called our mortgage company and spoke with someone in loss mitigation. They informed me that they had only been contacted by USLAC on one occasion and that was for authorization to discuss our loan.

We are in the process of working with our lender to get this matter taken care of so we don't lose our house. I received a letter from USLAC in February stating that the business was in the process of filing bankruptcy. I feel they shouldn't get away with ripping so many people off and then filing bankruptcy so they don't have to pay us our money back. I believe it was a scam from the start. Because of what USLAC did, we have to pay a higher mortgage payment that we can afford in order to try to get out mortgage caught up. We still may end up losing out house. We are struggling to pay the increased mortgage and our other necessary bills.

I am also going to throw the exact problem listed by all the other complaints. All was good until they took my $1500 I borrowed from my retirement to save my home. There is a pattern here. All complaints are in the same time frame. I wonder if this was a scam from the get go. That was pre-planned by predators preying on people where as in a recession, had many more. The holders are in trouble. This company offered a money back guard. I believe a complaint should be filed with the US. Attorney's Office!

I was told by Lucy ** that I qualified for a loan modification on my mortgage. I faced all forms and information requested on 9-17-09. I paid $750.00 on 10-25-09 and $750.00 again on 10-2-09. I called several times to check the status of my modification and was told that I could not contact the people that was actually working with my mortgage company as they were busy. The only information I was given is that my case was being worked on.

I received letters from my current mortgage company stating that USLAC had been in contact with them and that they only had permission to speak with certain people from USLAC. In January, when I called to check the status, I was given an email address by a recording. Well, I have sent several emails and no one has replied. I am now several months behind on my mortgage and this company has caused it all. I was told to not contact my mortgage company, or if they call, do not talk to them as this would interfere with the negotiation process. I was also informed that it would help if were behind in our payments. I need help and my money back.

On 10/15/09, I contacted USLAC to modify my home loan. They took down my information and said that we qualified for the program. After sending them all the required forms and $1500.00, they said everything looks to be on track. I would call them about once a week to verify the status of the modification. They would tell me it's with the processor or the lender and not to worry, everything was on track. This went on until early January when I tried to get a hold of them and their phone were not working.

After looking them up online, I learned that they were closing their doors on February 1, 2010. The only way I could communicate with them was by email. And yet again, they told me everything is on track. My file is with the lender. I called my bank as I was now 3 months behind in my mortgage, they explained to me that one of the documents that USLAC sent them was missing or had a signature that didn't match. This is something that USLAC had to have known about from the very beginning.

U.S. Loan Assistance Center (USLAC.com) told us our income and loan was "perfect" to modify. That was before they took our money. Soon as they had our money they wouldn't return calls. When we finally did get a hold of them months later, they couldn't help us. They had guaranteed they could help us or money back.

We then contacted our own bank and within 2 weeks, had our loan modified for free. USLAC is a HUGE RIP-OFF!!!
