I refinance my house with Citibank and on the closing date I submitted my insurance that was paid ahead for three years as of 9.24.2010 to 9.24.2013. I made them aware of it but of course they charge me again like I never paid and on top of it, took escrow payment for the year and additional of $243, every month, that means they make me pay three times. They claim that this cannot be corrected. They seems to have the right to rub me with license. Please have some one contact me because I try to call so many people in this bank and every one is acting as robots. Thank you so very much. Jean-Claude ***. xxx-xxx-xxxx
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

When we first purchased our home, this was our lender. However, prior to us making our 1st mortgage payment, Universal sold our loan to Countrywide Mortgage. Universal is still reflected on my credit report showing a monthly payment of $1,638.00! Therefore, it appears that I have 2 open mortgages!
Please close this account and update this record immediately! This has had a very negative effect on my credit rating! Thank you! I have repeatedly been denied credit.

Complaint against Universal Mortgage and Finance. I am the loan office that worked worked with her and she is correct on me not being able to offer her the rate. As people in the industry, we all know that in this market the rates and programs change all the time. The customer didn't want points and wanted to take a higher rate so that Universal could credit her back money to pay for closing cost. I indicated to her that she can get out of the high rate once she makes her first payment.
Well, FHA changed their guidelines and indicated that the customer needs to be in a FHA loan for a period of 6 months before they can do a refinance. When the customer respond, she didn't like this answer and I indicated to her that I can do nothing about this and that the program was regulated by the Federal Government not Universal Mortgage and Finance. I also did send her numerous emails about the program and sent her numerous good faith estimates to show her what the cost of the loan would be at the time when she could do the refinance. In my defense, I can't control what the rates are and what the Federal Government decides to change. She does qualify for the program and can contact me to do this.

Was misled and lied to regarding stream line refinance. Was told and promised to refinance at 5.5% , make only 1 month payment then we can switch to stream line that he locked in at 4.75%. After we refinance at 5.5, Dan ** is not returning my calls/emails regarding the stream line at 4.75%. I have saved all the emails admitting the 4.75% rate . Please help.

In December I scheduled my mortgage payment through my bank to be paid to Universal Mortgage. Everything seemed to be fine with my mortgage payment being withdrawn from my account and documented on my statement. Then I started getting calls from Universal. They left many messages on my phone but I work nights so I wasn't available to answer. I tried to call back but the person was not available. I then received a letter stating that Universal did not get my December payment.
I sent them a copy of the endorsed check with their stamp on the back to prove they got their money in December. I received another phone message that the copy of the check was not enough and they requested an endorsed copy even though that's exactly what I sent. I then sent copies of the last several checks, all with the same endorsements on the backs, and I told them I talked to my bank and the bank stated Universal did indeed receive their money. After all that my account was finally credited the payment without any explanation of just what happened.
The payment, although made in December, was not credited to my mortgage account until January, which makes the payment overdue more than 30 days. I requested that Universal fix this but they haven't and it now affects my credit. It took nearly three weeks after receiving my payment for Universal to credit my account.
