Unibank South Africa

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

A company called and said that they are going to send me a paper or summons about Unibank. I never, ever deal with Unibank. The only thing that I can think is that my ex husband for 15 years now is doing something on my name. He usually did something like this with many people. Izak ** is the name they are looking for. Just show me the documents which I was supposed to sign. But nothing!

I also have a similar problem like others I have read. I only had a Unibank account for a few months. I did not take a loan. Years later, Absa Bank said that I owe Unibank R22,104.00. I was shocked. I called Absa Bank. They told me that I can't do anything and that they had taken over this account. The account is now being handled by Snyman and Vennote in Stanger. They are debiting my account for R200 a month. I would like to know how I owed Unibank money when I didn't and how did Absa reach that exorbitant amount of R22,104. No statements or contact or anything were sent to me. I am a victim of these swindling banks.

At first they sent me the letters, asking me if i want to take a loan with them. But I did not reply back because I did not want it. Then they sent someone claiming to work with them with some papers saying I must sign them but i did not sign anything. After that they sent a paper stating that I owe them R5000.00 and on that paper they said I work at Telkom and that time I was working at ultra high pressure system at springs. Then I started phoning them and they told me to make an affidavit to say I do not know them and which I did. And there was no reply and they were quite. All this happen between the year 2001 and 2002.

Last year 2009, I received a letter from absa stating that I owe these guys something like R23000.00. When I phone absa they told me that I must phone the attorneys, they do not know anything. Their email address is Heatherb@Maravedi.co.za. I have received an SMS from absa on the 22/09/2010 saying I owe R23509.94.
