Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I would rate this company as 0. It is no good; very dishonest and cheated me out of $2,400 and did not get any loan modification in turn by my bank.

Domain is down and still got no call backs. I also received no modification, after paying $2800.00. Then it's now, Home Retention USA, under a different name to get new people to pay, for promises of a loan modification. I only got a forbearance agreement from the lender. No modification ever received. Secure LoanMod, Eddie **, compliance officer seems like a nice person, however, when I ask for the workout details for the modification, I get a run around watch out people! I filed a BBB complaint, last week against them with the state of California.

Sean ** of Secure Loan contacted me with the promise of a permanent mortgage modification. After several months of "your file is still under review", I spoke with my bank and I was told that they do not offer permanent modifications. I've given Secure Loan Mod $2,400 and now I have not been able to contact them for over a month.

I'm a single mother trying to make ends meet. I have no idea how I'm going to be able to catch up on my mortgage. I want to sue the pants off of this company and its employees.

I was contacted by this company with promises to save my home from foreclosure. Desperate and wanting to believe I could keep my home after losing my job, I sent them the $1900 required. They promised to lower my payments enough so that I could stay. My house payments were lowered $32 a month. 59 months, I would break even after the $1900 they charged. One of their employees even told me I had to get the papers in even if it meant me signing for both names on loan. When I told him it had to be notarized, he said "well, you have to do something". He then told me what to tell the co-signer to get him to sign. When I asked was it the truth or just something to get him to sign, he didn't want to answer me. Once I told them I saved all their emails, they refused to contact me by email anymore. They were afraid of what I have!

They charged me for a loan modification which I could have done myself and sent papers to mortgage company. They called me today, after I left two business days of messages, to advised me that they do not have a brokerage license. They had to sell all loan modifications to another company which I could not get a phone number to and wanted me to send 500 more dollars. He said that I paid $2400 but actually I only paid $2100; so more people are victims for the $2400 amount.

Their website has been erased and all the people that emailed me, Neyamiah ** and Sean ** email addresses are no longer valid and Eddie ** gave me a last name of ** when I asked.

I am filing a civil suit with the attorney general and hope it is not too late to save my home. When Eddie called me on September 26th 2011, he was nonchalant and advised me that several people wanted their money back so they were going to file bankruptcy and nobody was getting their money back. This is a shame that this company is taking advantage of people's hard times and they are looking for hope to save their homes and this company is taking people's hard earn money to line their pockets. T hey sound like they switched companies to get more money from people.

On September 1st, I sent you an email where a Bill ** from Chase told me my modification was turned down. You told me Chase never does anything this fast that my file was still under review. And you told me that you had put a call into Kelly Ann **, but I had not heard from her. Because you had written in an email that the next update on my file was September 12th, I waited on you. On September 12th, I sent you an email asking whether you had heard from Ms. **. When I arrived home, I found a message from you telling me that my file was still under review and that an appraiser from Chase will be passing around to take pictures of my home. But it stated that they will not be coming in, and that my next update from you will be on October 20th or maybe before that.

In my mail on September 12th, there was a letter from Chase turning down my modification. I called you immediately. You told me that there were different departments in Chase and that my file was still active and you will be hearing from me. You couldn't wait to get off the phone. You actually hung up the phone before I finished speaking to you. I tried to get you back, but a message came on that your magic jack was not answering. I contacted Chase. They told me the modification was denied. I still wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. I asked them if by any chance you knew about this. I was told that you did.

Mr. **, I am someone who needed help to save my home. For you to lie about this and keep my hopes up is without conscience. I would have respected the truth if you told me that they turned me down and could do nothing for me. Where in the world does an appraiser come to see a house and just drive by? They always come in to see the condition of it. You even asked me to refer my friends. My friends are people who I cherish. This would have been the end of our friendship if you did to them what you have done to me. You told me at the beginning (both you Sean ** and Denis, the first person that I spoke with) that if I did not get my modification, my money will be refunded. Please do this at once. When you were supposed to collect it from my bank account, I got several reminder emails from you. It was there because I kept my word. Now please refund my money.

This company contacted me with promises to save my home and scammed me for $2000.00. I explained that my husband can't put our mortgage in his name and that I do not have a job, but they were lying to my mortgage company trying to get a modification. I have received several letters from my bank stating that we were denied and a short sale is the only option. When I notified Sean **, he stated that this is normal and to keep waiting. It's been 7 months since getting involved with these people and nothing is happening, except we are getting further and further behind. This company is a scam and are just wanting your money. Stay away!

On March 9th, I contacted this bank from an email sent to me. I tried to look for reviews about this company and found none and thought they could be legit. Also, it is unusual that they have a .org as a domain. Those are usually for non-profits or help organizations that I thought to be true.

First contact, Dennis ** went back and forth with him. After many persuasive marketing coos from him, I decided he was sincere and have claimed to know and done business with my lender Sovereign Bank. Next, I spoke to a Sean ** who again became very sincere and talked me into applying with them. I had hard time sending the document back to Dennis ** as instructed then Sean said to send it to him; no problem there. I asked for attorney's name, business license and they said they will provide and it is important they get my loan information asap.

I did this based on Sean but decided to continue to cc Dennis ** since he was the one who sold me on this. All of Denis ** email would bounce back. They claimed that they had no idea. I think I was desperate. I am two months behind in my mortgage and they said all the right words. They said their attorney approved me the next day the amount was for $3000.00 which was very reasonable. Until they tried to submit to my bank, my bank denied it because Wells Fargo Bank found it to be suspicious. Next, as I look at the reverse check with WFB, it had a company name called Home Retention USA. I told WFB that I don't know who they are. I called Sean and he said that it was a department of his accounting.

I searched Home Retention USA; they are a company in BBB that shows a F rating with 13 complaint of unrefundable funds. As Secure Loan Mod, they told me that if they fail, the money is refundable.

After all this, I called Sean and told him that all I wanted is lawyer's name and he gave a name Norman **. I checked the Bar Association but no one exists with that name. He told me that Sovereign already received their authorization. I called Sovereign today and none was received. The worse I told Sean via email because after more research from the fraud check, I said that I was no longer interested. His email bounced back like Dennis. So this company is a predator. If you catch them in a lie, they will block your id out. They use a 714-763-4129, 4122, 4123, etc with no company name but the t1 line they sue WilLogic.

This company is wrong and it will take people's money. I plan to close my checking account and open a new one because they have my routing number. I was desperate and stupid. I allowed smooth talkers to con me but luckily, my bank did not believe them. They in fact accused me of stopping payment and I told them my bank did and I asked again who is Home Retention USA and he said that he did not know. This is Sean ** and should be arrested for fraud. They claimed that there is no fraud, but they have no address and no license.

He gives me his EIN number off his paycheck. He gives me an attorney that does not exists. He gives me the wrong number to Sovereign Loan Migitation who I called and no authorization has been sent in by them. They now claimed that they closed me out two days ago. I spoke to them yesterday and he said my authorization to Sovereign went though. He also guarantee me a rate and I said how can you do that and he said his attorney has been successful in getting that rate.

I was stupid; i fell for a good con because I was desperate. These guys are good; it about six of them and said who will be working on my case: p.s. I am permanently disabled and blind in one eye and I do need a loan modification. These guys are predators. Stop them!
