I bought a car. They financed $21,864.00. I was to pay $499.62 for 72 months. That's $499.62 x 72 = $35,972.64 with $14,108.64 of interest. I didn't do the math when I bought it. I owe $2999.00 plus $888.00 of interest if I pay it in 8 months. I just requested a skip payment, because some guy with no insurance hit me. I need to put the claim through my insurance, and I have to pay $500 deductible. They said they couldn't help me. They don't care about their customers. They only care about the money. I will never do business with this company. And no one should. Their interest is very high. It's not worth it.

I bought a 2004 car 4 years ago, and I'm almost done with the payments. These people start calling me 3 days before the payment is due and asked if I sent it already. I don't answer my phone because they yell at me, telling me that if the payment isn't in on the day it's due, they will pursue further actions on it. Now, I'm not 3 months behind nor have I ever been, but these rude and insulting people tell me that I am and are threatening me in all ways. I can only pay when I get paid so why do I need a phone call for this each month for 4 years?
I will never, in my life, go there to finance a car again. They have caused me so much stress and grief. If there is anyone out there that can stop this nonsense with the way they do business, please help.

My ex-husband went to purchase a car at a dealership. He didn't have good credit or a good work history. So, they started asking if we were married. I said yes. They asked me if I worked and I said yes. They started to say that we both needed to be on the loan because we were married. I had never purchased anything like that. I didn't know what to do or think. Well, I did try to explain that I don't have a license and never had one. So therefore, I don't drive. They still made me sign after him. He never paid on the car. He since has passed away. They are now garnishing my wages. I don't even know where that vehicle is. It's because the last 3 years, we were separated and lived in different houses.

I had an auto loan with them. Things were fine until the job I had at the time cut back hours due to the economic turndown; that eventually led to me being laid off. When it was a couple days or so before my due date, I would start to receive calls regarding my payment. I would receive a call every day until I paid. When I fell behind, things got bad real quick. When I signed the paperwork for the loan, I had to fill out a list of contacts that I was assured wouldn't be contacted unless it was an emergency. I didn't foresee anything ever coming up that would constitute an emergency or a reason to call. When I started to fall behind, these people started calling everybody on that contact list.
Even when I asked that they not be called, my request was ignored. It took me copying and pasting a section of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and a threat to file a complaint that stopped the calls. They would call me on my cell phone over and over and over, and sometimes not leave a message. When my car broke down and the repair cost was more than what I could pay, I paid a towing service to tow the car back to the dealership. I called them and told them that I was turning the car back in. I knew what this was going to do, but I couldn't pay to fix the car. They asked if there was anybody willing to buy the car and take over payments. They gave me a week to find someone to do this. There was no way I was going to pass this curse onto someone else, so I called them a week later and told them that there wasn't anybody who wanted to buy the car and to go to the dealership for the car. I thought that was it. Little did I know that my trip to hell was just beginning?
About two months later, I started receiving calls about the car. They wanted to know where the car was and were threatening legal action against me. I even received a summons from the court regarding the vehicle. I called the court and told them I didn't have the car. I then called Prestige back and told them I didn't have the car. They told me that it was my responsibility to find the car. I said no it wasn't. We went back and forth, before I hung up on them. They had the audacity to call my new job and ask a coworker who barely knew me if I had fixed my car. This, and a combination of the endless calls, led me to stop all contact with them due to the anxiety and other health issues that came from this experience.
I couldn't do it anymore. The car sold at auction six or so months after I had turned it in. I heard nothing for close to a year. I received a letter telling me I owed clost to two grand more than the balance left after the sale. I had no money, no means to pay nothing. I went to court. The case against me was dismissed, thankfully. But this thing still haunts me. I will never finance another car again. I will never recommend anybody deal with this finance company if they value their mental and physical health. If given a chance I tell people to stay away from them. This isn't me, but I curse this company into bankruptcy. These people are evil. Don't do business with them. You'll live to regret it. I sure did.

Exactly what happened to the blogger Sarah said happen to her. This organization is so unprofessional. They need to be stopped. We still have an amazingly huge balance because they say we have a lot of fees and payments that were supposed to be moved to the back. It's just a big mess. We owe more than we ever thought as if we have never paid into the principal. I will gladly give you our account number and any other info you need so that you can find it all for yourselves. Please help!

Complain to your state attorney and the FTC, otherwise they will never be brought to justice. Also your State's Department of Financial Institutions and the Justice Department. I have the same issues with this company and I am only 5 days late.

It all started back towards the end of 2008 when I fell on some financial problems, I contacted the finance company for my car and explained the situation to them. After speaking to them several times they called and informed me that they would help by letting me skip 3 mos of payments and add those months to the end of my loan. So I agree'd and started on this program which I paid $200-$250 every 2 weeks to them. Recently, they made me set up 2 months' worth of payments in advance, which I told them I didn't want to do because I was not in front of a calendar and I didn't want to promise to pay on a date I was not sure I could pay. I was told to set it up anyway and if there was a problem that I just needed to call prior to the said date and make different arrangements. So the date was approaching and of course it wasn't a good day for me, so I called and let them know I couldn't pay until a few days later.
I was told that because I wasn't keeping my arrangement that I was now going to be 93 days late because of the 3 mos. they let me skip. I was informed that every time I made my 2-week payments I was charged a $20 fee, which they added to the end of my loan. This fee was not disclosed to me at any time during the duration of my 2-week payments. I also found out because they did NOT put these 3 mos on the end of the loan I have been paying a ton of fee's, almost every payment has gone to nothing but interest and my car is now out for repo. I have paid over $13,000.00 on my car and only $900.00 has gone to principal. I was told last month that because of all of this every penny of every payment made from here on out would go to nothing but interest until I paid the 3 months and got caught up.
This company is harassing me, my family, my friends, my work, and calling my neighbors that are not even listed as references. I have asked them at least 10 times not to call my work, but they still call here more than once a day. They send me a text 10 times in a row. Call me names, hang up on me, I have never, ever been treated this way by anyone in my life. I don't know if they have been reporting negatively on my credit for the past two years. I have done everything they have asked me to do to in order for those 3 mos to go on the end of my loan, and they told me more than once that they did. I don't understand how any of what they are doing can be legal, not only with the 3 mos but their collection efforts and non-stop harassment. They call demanding payment before the payment is even due. I would set up 2 payments to be drafted from my account at one time, but was told I was committing a felony by not talking to Niesha every 3 days to confirm my payment and check in with her. I have made a payment and 4 hours later I had a repo man knocking on my door (this was a few months ago), but this is how I am always treated.
I am at the point where I don't know what to do, I have done everything that they told me to do up until last month when I found out that I have been paying nothing but interest, and it would continue to be that way. They are threatening to take my car and sell it for maybe $5,000.00 and garnish the other 10,000.00 from my wages. I have paid their company $13,000.00 and some change and there is still $19,100.00 left on my $20,000.00 principal. I have been paying on this account since March of 2007. Something has to be done about this company, I looked them up on the BBB website, they have 122 complaints in the last 36 months, and 51 closed complaints. On ripoffreport.com they have many, many complaints all people who are experiencing the same sort of harassment. Please help me, I dont know what to do anymore.

I'm financing a vehicle thru this company. I've made payments each month on the loan. Unfortunately, the vehicle was vandalized last month. Therefore, I requested a deferment to use the note as money to be applied to repairs. I had been told in prior months that I had 3 months of emergency deferments during the life of my loan. Two weeks after I submitted the official request in wrting, and applied the money to repairs; I was told I had to make the payment. Now I'm being left threatening message that I'm 32 days late on that same payment; and I may lose my vehicle.
Threats of reposession.
