Consumer Complaints & Reviews

On July 11, 2010, I applied for a loan of $1,000.00. I faxed what they asked for the next day. They would email me the terms and see if I wanted the loan, and nothing has ever came through. When I called back, I can never get through to any agent or Wendy. She was with another client and the mail box was full. The longest time on the phone, waiting for an agent, was 25 to 45 minutes with no response. I didn't know if the loan was approved or not. I was calling day after day with the same results - no one to talk to. What's up with this?

I finally got through to auto-teller for payment of $125.00. Now what? I call the next day for Wendy. Call after call after call and I get Wendy, only to find out that the loan was only for $250.00, not $1,000.00. The $125.00 was only a finance fee. The interest fee was something else to be added on to the $250.00, plus a $10.00 for the transaction fee. It looks like this loan cost me double the amount of the loan. What a rip-off! The best part is that I didn't even get the chance to say no to the loan, and had never been able to get through by phone to Wendy again. I keep getting cut off or spend 20 minutes waiting for no one to answer.

I sent a fax to Wendy on August 2, 2010 to contact me because I am very dissatisfied, but still, no response from Wendy. Then, I got subscription being charged to the bank account which I never ordered and for some service to other subscriptions as well. I tried calling Wendy again, but there was no answer as usual because the subscription was tied in to pdly. Again, I sent in the fax to Wendy. I had to stop payment to them pdly and payment will be made with postal money order. I told them to contact me by phone or fax to get the $300.00 money order, but still, no response. Call after call, I got no response in September and October 2010.

The money order still waited, but I got threatening phone calls from an unknown number who claimed to be a paralegal for some attorney and who never gave his name, calling 4 or 5 times a day and wanting me to pay $8,000.00 and never wanting to hear a word I had to say but always hanging up on me. They had constant attacks against my bank account for this and that without end. On February 7, 2011, my bank account was closed because PaydayLoanProtection scam got into my account, and the bank had made the closing. Now, I am getting calls again to collect payment. When I asked why pdly refused the money order, the female refused to give an answer, claiming I owe them $500.00 plus. I then again asked why pdly refused to take money order and still no answer. I asked that they stop harassing me but still can't get the address. Maybe Mr. Muntal ** can tell us.

I borrowed $300 from Payday Loans of America, and authorized them to collect payments from my checking account. For the next three months, Payday Loans of America debited my checking account for over $900. I tried to call the company, but there was no contact number for customer service. I also attempted to contact them by email, but received no response.

Finally, I requested that my bank to stop the payment, since I had already paid my loan in full, including over 300% interest. They continued to harass me with phone calls, and continued their attempts to debit my checking account. Today, I received a call from the collection agency, Alliance, retained by Payday Loans of America, threatening me at my job. The representative told me that if I did not pay them, they would pursue other legal measures, that would affect my job. This is complete harassment and is unacceptable.

I borrowed $300 in July of '09. I have not been able to pay back the $300 so every two weeks, the company withdraws $90.00 from my account. After the 4th time of withdrawing $90.00, they withdraw an additional $25 to apply toward the principal. I never receive a reminder, the money just comes out of my account. To date, the $300 loan has cost me $962.50. I called today and asked them how much is owed on the principle and I was told $250.00 is owed and if I pay it today, I will only have to pay $250.00 plus the interest of $75.00 which has accrued.

I have already given this company $962.50. Because I signed the contract, I am liable. I cannot afford this. What can I do?

I tried to apply for a loan with payday loan and kept getting fowarded to other sites so I just stop my search, by the way I began looking for loans between June 15-26th because I was going on vacation July 1st and needed to cove last minute costs, I never read anything about a charge after 10 days of any sort, but on July 15th I was charged $7.81 and an overdraft fee of $35 for there services that i never received.

I now have a negative balance do to that charge and other things that I knew about in my account.
