Paragon Financial Solutions

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

In October 2009, I went to Paragon Financial Solutions to get a loan modification on my home. I gave Rick ** $4,000.00 for a loan modification to lower my house payment. I had to call them every time I wanted to know what was happening with my mortgage, I think I called every week for 9 months. 90% of the time, I never reached a person and had to leave messages which were never returned. I was told that it was still at the mortgage company being reviewed. And every time I called, I spoke to a new person.

I was not making mortgage payment to my mortgage company as Rick ** at Paragon told me not to pay them. I had requested for a refund from Paragon 6 months later as I was informed I would not get the loan modification, at least three times in this period of time but no return calls as usual. I was even faxed a form (Request for Refund and Release of Claims), signed it, and faxed it back to Kris ** who said he would be sure to get it to the lawyers. I dealt with Rick ** and listened to all his promises. I was given a guarantee that my money would be returned ($4,000) if I was denied a loan modification. When I called for a refund, they stated they resubmitted it causing more time to wait. Dennis ** faxed me notice of "Denied Loan Modification" in May 2010.

I lost my home and eventually moved out of state. I am now researching my options to get my money back if at all possible. If there is a joint lawsuit, I would be interested in joining.

We gave Paragon $4500 for a modification on our home in October 2009. We dealt with Rick ** and listened to all his promises. We also talked to Donna **, Amy **, and a man named Scott. We were told not to pay house payments and we missed one payment which we made up. But we had excellent credit and it made our credit rating go down. We talked to a different person every time we called. We went to the business place and found that they were gone. Last week, we called Rick **. We still had his cell phone number. He told he was sorry and that they still owed him $20,000. We were told that they moved to Las Vegas. We filed a consumer complaint with the attorney general. We told that they couldn't do anything because they moved out of state to Nevada and was told that they keep us on file. And if they come back to AZ, maybe something could be done.

We were given a guarantee of our money returned ($5,000) if we were denied a loan modification. We were. When we called for a refund, they stated they resubmitted it (without telling us) and it was "still in Process." Rick ** promised we would get our money back if it was denied. He told us to stop making payments (we had outstanding credit). Now our credit is ruined! Our loan at Chase (2nd try) was sold and we just got denied again. No one has called us back. We need the money for missed payments, plus now we have enormous penalties.

Kenneth of Phoenix, AZ. August 8, 2010. My wife and I went to them to get a loan modification on our home. They took our money. They wanted $4500 to get us a lower house payment, however I only gave them $3000 because of the immediate negligence on their part. I had to call them every time I wanted to know what was happening with our mortgage. And every time I called, a new person had my file. This went on for about four months and our mortgage company was not letting up on us as far as not making the monthly payments as Paragon told us not to pay them.

During all this time, we were on the edge of losing our house when I finally talked to our mortgage company and made a modification with them myself. I had requested a refund from Paragon at least three times in this period of time but no returns calls as usual. Finally, we got things redone and straightened out with our mortgage company after getting our third notice that they were going to evict us. I went down to Paragon once to retrieve a tax record from my file and had another person as usual.

A few days later, we had a strange message on our answering machine which took weeks to figure out what the guy was saying. It sounded exactly like the man I talked to when I went to Paragon and when I called Paragon, he was no longer with them. The message on our answering machine was whispered and after a couple weeks we figured out he was saying, "Ken, you better get a lawyer quick." I know it was the guy I talked to at Paragon that was not there shortly after as in a week or so.

Others out there that were ripped off by Paragon Financial Solutions in Scottsdale and I know there are many, if we could all get together and file a class action suit, it would put these crooks out of business or at least give them a real good wake up call. My e-mail is ***@aol.com if anyone wants to get together on this. My name is Ken M. I have been in contact with three others so far that have been scammed by them......and now they changed their business name to Principal Reduction Group LLC. I wonder why!

The inconvenience of having to call them each time and dealing with a different person each time, while worrying about losing my house. My phone calls were never returned so I had to call until I actually got a person to answer the phone, which did no good anyway. Not paying on our mortgage for four months didn't help our credit.
