New Hope Modifications

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Back on 9/16/2008 it all started. I was in for what turned out to be a really bad ride. I started the process of doing a loan modification with New Hope and sent them $1,400 upfront and they said they would begin to negotiate my loan with Countrywide and they could lower my payments and get a better interest rate. I kept getting the story when I called that it was on the negotiators desk, it was with the under writers, back to the negotiator and the end result was there was nothing they could do. All this took until Feb.2009. Six months of house payments late and reported and $10,000 added on to my loan with late fees. To make things even better, the person I started the whole process with was no longer working for them after the first two months I started. I filed a complaint with the New Jersey BBB and have heard nothing more.

I paid $1,500 (have copies of all correspondence) even a document that someone "worked over" and signed my name to it. I ultimately fired them and asked for my refund within 90 day period and I have never heard from anyone. This began 11/12/2008. There are several other names involved.

In October of 2008, I talked to Brian ** about possibly saving my house through a modification of my mortgage payment or interest rate. He said that he could save my house, but I would have to send him $500.00 upfront. I sent him the money ($500.00) through I believe a debit card initially. Then on 11/21/08, I sent New Hope Modifications $750.00 to complete the upfront money that Mr. ** said to send to New Hope Modification and not to Litton Loan services. Mr. ** told me not to send any money to Litton. He said New Hope would take it from there. Ever since I sent them $1,250.00, on a couple of occasions, Mr. ** promised me that he was going to refund my money (refund if they have not done anything on my case, which they did not), their promise in their guidelines. He told me that I need to be behind in my mortgage payments to qualify, which I was. I have since moved out of my house because I could not catch up on my payments. I haven't heard from Brian since December of 2008. I am about to go through a divorce, I had to file for bankruptcy, my life is upside down since that ordeal. Please help me.

new hope modfacation took 2,500 is there a way I can get it back. and how do I go by doing it.

In January 2009 I contact New Hope Modification and spoke with Skip Weakland. He told me he could be be of help if I was to send $850.00 which I sent.He then tuned case over Denise Proter because Chris Weakland was no longer with the business. we were told that they would handle all commmuication with Country Wide bank.We were told to from Country Wide that Fresh Start Modification was handling the case.We then started receiving letters from Korn law firm.

We were told by Skip W and Denise P to not worry they would contact just fax them the papers that were sent to us each time we did this time continued to pass we cotacted Denise and told her our house wwas going up for auction on August 4th she told us we did not send her all of the paper work back we have confirmed faxes that were sent her. the last contact we had with them is August 3rd our house went up for Auction on August 4th when we first started having contact the name of the company was New Hope Modification llc then we were told to send all payments and faxes to Fresh Start Home Modification because they were the same company.Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I was working with john to modify my loan with Counrtywide. I payed at least 3,500.00 to this company only to have John stop returning my calls and then to be told that this was not going to work. Theses people need to be held accountable for their actions. I am now in forecloser and trying desperately to get home home saved. This is the third company that has ripped me off. I want some results as to how people like myself can recoup our losses. I am very interested in hearing from someone reguarding this company.

I was put in a terrible situation,I borrowed money from a brothe and yet have been able to pay him back as I lost my job of 29yrs at 20.00hr. and now working at 8.70 hr This is very hard to swallow as people need to hear about the unjust of these companies taking advantage of people like myself. I also borrowed money from a Dr. who said to me no one I work with is going to loose their home. He has not been payed back yet either.

I contacted them in October of last year, filled out the forms with my home loan company's mitigation loss fax number, submitted them and paid the money. They gave the file to "Terrence," and if he contacted my loan company, it was to talk about something else. He sat on it and told me they couldn't do anything, even though I had the income to support my loan.

I came to realize in January of 2009 that I was entering into a period of negotiation for my loan, and it could only been negotiated from January to June. I was duped into "hoping" that they could help me and took money knowing full well, as a real estate company, that they could not negotiate at this time. They also told me they were one of 6 companies approved by FHA to negotiate loans on their behalf. Total lies.

We filed to do a loan modification to gey out of a variable rate mortgage they informed uo not to make any payments and the morg co also said they would not accept any and after calling for monthe and being told our file was under review by the mortg co and new hope, all of a sudden I called for 2 weeks straight not getting any return calls and one day finding out they were a scam, by now our mortgage was very behind. and we are out our fee and possibably our home.

I was contacted via email about mitigating my home loan. Was told to stop paying on loan and to pay them $1200 to start mitigating. They debited out of my account and then sent me from agent to agent all the while never contacting my lender. I started filing compaints. One to BBB was answered by Donna who replied that they were 'still working on it'. My house foreclosed in April 2009.

I used new hope modifications based on channel 9 news, money 101, once I began to deal with the company in December, 2008 I was told to fill out the forms that were faxed to me and return them which at that time I did, the company stated that I to pay 2000, In January I recieved a phone call from Ms. H stating that my modification was deined, at that point I began to ask that my money be turned which it never was, and no one every turned my calls.

I called and dealt with a Vincent Peraino, who often times or more we couldn't get on the phone, I got a weird feeling when I couldn't get anyone on the phone and they never return my calls, so I went to the Better business bureau and found out that they had got into trouble it was about three months, they lied and told me they talked to my lender they got $2,500 out of me, but luckly i was able to get a real attorney to handle my loan modification, I talked with the federal trade commission and was told to file my complaint. They all should be punished for the money they have taken from people.

I contacted New Hope in Nov 08 through a brochure we received in the mail. I was behind on mortgage payments and was trying to refinance but had no luck so when I contacted New Hope Mammoccio came to my house to discuss my options - he tells us the only way to go is a lease/buyback where an investor (Deborah Lind) puts my mortgage in her name (basically buys my house) for 1 year and after a year I can buy my house back. On top of that Mammoccio tells me I have to pay 1200 per month (because he has to make money). So now after a year and over 15,000 worth of payments, not to mention the cash back to seller (99,000) my house will be sold. There was supposed to be money in escrow for a down payment as well as money to pay the mortgage for 18 months.

I received a letter yesterday from Deborah Lind's attorney stating I have 3 options - buy the house back which I can't because Mammoccio never reported any of my payments and my credit is below 500, enter into a lease agreement with the current owner (Deborah Lind) which probably be over 2500 a month, or vacate in 30 days. They are coming to my home to inspect the property and put up a sale sign. These people need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, including the investor's because they were part of the scam too. I have a family that will be homeless if I dont' find some way of keeping my house. The FTC froze all their assets and ordered them to pay restitution to all the modification cases, the Attorney General told me today, basically all the people that are lease/buyback victims are basically screwed and on their own. So, there will be a lot of families without homes including me.

I have 3 grandchildren all under age 6 that will be homeless. how do these people sleep at night knowing what they did to people? If there is anyone out there that has any suggestions for me other that contacting an attorney which I already did but it might be too late because I don't speak to them till June 4, I'm open for suggestions or any help anyone has to offer.....

they promised me that they would take care of my modification on my mortgage and 1250.00 dollars from me and even told me that they talked to my lender. my lender said they never talked to mike or jason i moved out of the house and know my wife who i am separated from is living there and not sure if the lender is going to let her still live there. i want my money back and these so called gentlemen and ladies to pay for ruining my life and others.

Are financial hardship started the end of last year with the loss of electricity from an ice storm for 5 days that also caused 2 water pipes to break destroying the downstairs of our home including the ceiling falling down. Then my hours were cut at work and my husband got laid off at his job. Our friends were already involved with New Hope and told us about it. They were also scammed.

We contacted Jim who told us we needed to send him $1670.00 to be put in escrow as a show of good faith with negotiating with the mortgage company and would be put to them. They automatically deducted it from my account. After than I hadn't heard from him in a little bit, so I called him and he put me over to the litigation dept. and a woman told me she needed me to fax her some more info. So I did and then didn't hear from her again. So I repeatedly called and left her msg and she never called me, I also was doing the same with Jim Gallagher.

Luckily I had Jim's cell # and reached him. He told me he had been fired the week before without warning. He gave me he owner's son's cell # and I contacted him. He put me in contact with the person that was dealing with my file, Jason. Jason said that he was reviewing my file. I then got a msg a few days later saying that New Hope was closing. I got in touch with Jason again and he said it was true however the litigation office was staying open to complete all the file that were already in progress including mine and that the lending company would be notified by the end of that week. That did not happen.

I got back in touch with the owner's son again, Brian, and told him I just wanted my $ back before I lost my home so I could look else where for help. He told me to go on the New Hope website under refunds and explain why I should be getting my $ back. I did that and he website no longer existed and Brian would not answer his phone or return my msgs again.

So I have since talked to my friends who referred me to this program and they have told me about the multiple scam complaints. I have talked to Jim Gallagher on his cell and he and some co-workers from New Hope that no longer work there have also seen all the complaints and said they had no idea any of this was going on. So here I am now adding my story to the list of others.....

Back in December of '08 I contacted New Hope Mod. for a loan modification. I was told by a Jim Gallagher that I would need $1443 (one month's mortgage) to be put into escrow once the modification went through and it would be applied to my mortgage. Since that time I was contacted by a Melinda and she informed me that she was working with my lender to lower my mortgage. I tried to call Melinda and was referred to a Melissa Fisher and she told me that Melinda was no longer working there and that she was now handling my loan modification. She told me also that she was working with my lender. That's the only time I spoke with her. I received an email from a Kim Scott. I received an email from her on 4/15 saying she was in touch with someone from Countrywide and that's the last time I have heard from her. My house is up for Sheriff's sale on 5/12. I trusted these people and they just scammed me.

I went to New hope late last year asking for assistance for a loan modification for our mortgage company. They request a house payment upfront so they would have that in escrow for a good faith payment to the lender once the loan was modified. We received a letter from the lender in March advising a loan modification has been approved, so we had to sign and notarize the paperwork and return to them, which we did immediately. Since that time, I have been trying to find out from the lender and New Hope when the new payments for the loan modification should begin since I have not rec'd any additional documentation. I received a foreclosure notice today. I tried calling the lender, emailing them and faxing them to inquire about the new payments with no response. I tried to call New Hope today to see if they knew what the problem was... the phone has been disconnected and there is no longer a website for their company. They took almost $1600 to use as good faith and pay the lender, but it appears it was never paid. Now we are out the $1600 and our home is being foreclosed on. I feel cheated. I had researched their company for givin them our money & there were no complaints file. However, I see there are plenty now. New Hope needs to be punished for what they have done to our family and plenty of others.

I paid $5,000.00 for a loan modification. They promised me all was going well and I would have my loan reduced drastically. When I received the foreclosure papers from the attorneys of the bank I tried calling this firm and the number was disconnected. Woww, what a shock this was. Talk about stress, I had to leave work early last week to recoup from the stress when I found out the number was disconnected and I had lost $5,000.00.

I was guaranteed that my mortgage would be modified so that I could afford the payments. I originally paid New Hope Modification $1250.00 for them supposedly to start the negotiations. this was before Christmas.

J. Martinez contacted me and advised that I needed to pay my mortgage company $1500.00 by March 2, 2009 to stop the sheriff's sale and that everything would be taken care of and the payments would be lowered. I rounded up the payment, even while in the hospital for 2weeks with a heart attack and pulminary failure.

I was recently contacted by a D. G., who supposedly was still taking care of this matter but as of this date I have not heard from D. G. nor have I been able to reach him.

I believe New Hope Modification should be sued and I would be hoping that my money would be returned to me.

I believe New Hope Modification should be sued and I would be hoping that my money would be returned to me. My home is still scheduled for Sheriff's sale and since the heart attack I have been unable to return to work so this money could be used to pay the bills.

I contacted this steve threw this company over the internet and was told that they could get my interest rate lowered to 6% and save me some money on my house payment but in realallity they did nothing for me except steal my money in the tone of 1500.00 dollars and I am demanding my money back or I am going to contact the attorney General of new jersey about them

I think New Hope Modifications, LLC, should be sued big time. I was contacted by an agent by the name of J. Amelio. He guaranteed me, that, New Hope Modifications would get my mortgage payments reduced by half. J. Amelio sent me a letter, saying the mitigation escrow? would be $1500.00 for the first mortgage. Than, he went on to say, that, my second payment would be fifteen hundred dollars, for which, I paid.

I was later referred to Petra. I later heard from Donna, and she said, that she was taking over my case, and that she was in contact with my mortgage Company, and that she would get back with me. I tried to get a hold of New Hope Modifications to NO AVAIL. Their telephones have been disconnected, and no ones called since. I hope to get my money back.

I have been behind on my payment my credit is bad my credit cards are max out because of this company I have to talk with bill collectors all day. This set me back three mouths.

I was referred to this company by my mortgage company after my husband got behind on the payments and at the time we were going through a separation/divorce and the mortgage company refused to work with us on lowering the payments. I first had to fill out some paperwork then was told I had to pay $500 upfront and the remaining balance of $750 dollars in a months time, totalling $1250 which I had to scrap together, I couldn't get my kids what they really wanted for Christmas because i was trying to make sure they had a place to live instead. I was told that it would take about three months to complete the process and they were sure that they could help me, at this time my husband had moved out of the house and had left so many unpaid bills and I had just started working because for two years I was a stay at home mom and even with my job the payments would be unaffordable for me alone.

I had been in contact with the company for months and then I received a letter from a law firm stating that my house had been sold and I needed to vacate the property immediately and I asked them to give me thirty days and they said they could not do that, so I called my mortgage company because I was unable to reach New Hope to find out if the property was indeed sold already, and it was confirmed that it had been sold and I was never notified by the mortgage company or New Hope that my property was sold, I was told by New Hope that the property was up for sale at a foreclosure sale but Dawn G from New Hope told me that she talked to my mortgage company and that they where taking it off of the for sale list

so I thought everything was ok until I got the letter from a law firm, so now I have a week to move and nowhere to really go and the law firm will not give me thirty days to find a place to live so I will be forced to put my things in storage and move in with a relative, I am not quite sure yet, so thanks to New Hope for helping me lose my home instead of keeping it like I was trying to do, had I of known I could of tried to get the loan modified by my mortgae company under the policy set in place by president Obama. My credit is ruined, I am out $1250, and I feel like a complete failure because I promised my kids that I would do what I had to save our home, so now I am depressed and stressed out so bad that I barely sleep and so disappointed that companies are scamming people because they know at they are desperate to keep their homes. I aam so discussed.

I was behind on my payments they said they could lower and adjust my rate give me a lower payment yadda yadda yadda THEY DID NOTHING EXCEPT TAKE MY MONEY!!!! I WANT IT BACK!!! I negotiated with my lender myself and got back on payments, i was lucky.

What a rip off! Gave $1500 up front based upon Cheryl's affirmation that their attorneys would be working on my behalf to re structure my loan. I have never ever heard from an attorney - just customer service rep - Melissa - with feeble feedback that they were pursuing my case. Neither Cheryl nor Melissa return my calls. How do we pursue a class action suit?

Loss of $1500 and 6 months damage - and on going damage to my credit. Even tho I pay all my other credit on time - all of my credit cards have been either terminated or my limit has been drastically reduced!

S. Prokoff with New Hope Modification stated that they would negotiate with my lender on my behalf to work with them on either lowering my interest rate, which will lower my monthly payment! I retain them on 11/20/08 $1250!

4/08/09 im $7000 behind on mortgage, n now they hav went out of business, New Hope failed to render sevice and good, they are a fraud! I want to go after them!

I filed out and online inquiry with New Hope Modifications. I was contacted by John and on September 25, 2008 I filled out the papers he emailed to me. In the meantime I received an modification offer from my lender which was a 5 year interest only modification at 5%. John adised me that that was not a good arrangement and they could get me better terms. I went along because they did get the foreclosure stopped. Holly took over my case at that point and called me every now and then asurring me that everything was moving along.

Recently, Donna called and said she was now in charge of my case and said she had been in touch with my lender and should know something in 14 days. This was the same thing Holly said months ago. This is now April and I have not gotten a modification yet. I contacted American Home Mortgage formally Option One and they quoted me a reinstatement figure of over $20,000.00 dollars. John and Holly told me not to make any payments and now this is eating up my equity.

My laon balance was $89,000.00 dollars and my property value is $167,000.00 dollars according to county records. I was quoted an upfront fee of $1,500.00 dollars but after they took $500.00 dollars from my checking account,I kept my checking balsnce below that amount until I saw some results. Want my money back as well as damages for the loss of my equity.

Got behind in my primary house which was do to be sold today but I was able to get a modification through my lender. I have had to deplete my savings and my credit remains destroyed becuase my credit score and my wife's score has dropped tremendously.

I needed assistance with modifying my HFC mortgage and New Hope Modifications promised to a get a lesser payment, lesser rate and still being @ a 30 year fixed. I told them I was already in a hardship for 6 months and they told me the modification I qualified for would be for 30 years and not 6 months. After they got my $1460.00. I have spoken to atleast if not more 10 people some names I was given (most likely not real).

Most recently I wqas advised by BBB of NJ they have closed my account due to unable to deliver and they are out of business with my money which I could have paid HFC! I would like to become part of a civil suit and get my money back.

OUT OF $1460.00 and got but nothing but the run and around and lied to!

This company was mainly operated by Brian M. and his family. His wife, step-daughter, brother-in-law, son, and numerous other family members were apart of this big scam. They even scammed other family members into investing their own money into the business. Because of this, all of the family members who invested into this business thinking that it was legit have lost everything also. Some have lost their life's savings, credit has gone bad, and the trust a family should have for each other is totally ruined. As a close friend to everyone involved, the people in the upper management of this company should all go to jail. Not only have they ruined thousands of people's lives, but they also ruined a close knit family. I hope justice is served!

We received a summons of foreclosure about our home. I contacted our local courthouse to try and stop this. Feidwell and Hannoy, the attorneys of Citimortgage will not speak with me. I've called many times. I was looking online on an FHA website, and this NEW HOPE MODIFICATION company showed up. I filled out a quick questionnaire. Dave G emailed me and I called him to hear more about help, because my mortgage company would NOT speak to me. I allowed $1000 to be taken out of our account, after doing the investigation of NEW HOPE. I guess I was scammed. Now, we are behind 7 months and we have 2 small children. I think I'm going to vomit. I just read this website after trying to contact every person at NEW HOPE earlier today. I bawled my eyes out. I'm NOT a crier! I have not even told my husband yet, who is still working! GREAT!

$1000 was scammed out of me and I stopped payment on another $1000 being taken from us. I have to pay my bank $35 to stop payment, so the scammers cannot have access to my account! What a load of CRAP! That $1000 could have paid a mortgage payment! I am contacting my attorney general's office ASAP!

They took $1637.00 from my bank account and promised a solution. I was bounced from Shawn B to Terrance W to a lady first name only of Dawn and then to Erica R. They kept stringing me along and said they were in contact with Chase Home Finance and everything was good. They just needed more and more documents all the time. Well, come to find out that finally after many, many calls and e-mails to them with no answer that my house is going on the auction block July 9th at 10:00 am. They told me to make no house payments and that everything would be fine. Now I am in big trouble. I came to this web site today only to read many more stories from others in the same predicament. I have taken one gentleman's advice and filed a complaint with the New Jersey Attorney General. If any of you other people read this please do so also. I think a class action lawsuit to freeze their assets for refunds and then some is a partial solution.

I am now four payments behind and face my house going up for auction July 9th. Also since I work for the State Patrol. We have a regulation that we must pay all our bills on time or risk getting terminated. I tried to take the correct steps to prevent this from happening and now face many problems beacuse of New Hope. Shame on me I guess.

We were having a financial hardship as my husband was med-flighted home from Iraq, Our daughter brike her leg and was in a body cast, and husband had surgery on foot. The most recent was that mu company cut all full time employees hours from 40 to 37. We have been trying to work with the Morgage company but have been bumped around from dept to dept. At this time we are in a Pre-Foreclosure process and may have to file Chapter 13 to keep the home.

We were contacted by New Hope stating that they would help us modify the loan as long as we sent them 1500.00 to do so. We have been trying to call get voice mail all the time never get a person and just found out that they closed their doors. How can someone get away with that this is a SCAM! We are still trying to recoup the money that was sent so that we can make a payment toward our home or toward the chapter 13. We sent a complaint to the BBB and just recently found out that they no longer reside at that address. Please Help!

My dad contacted this company for the same reason as everyone else. He had already filed bankruptcy and needed a loan modification. His atty had been disbarred and we were getting no where on our own. These people PROMISED they could help us get the order from the bankruptcy court to allow the mort compmany to modify the loan. They also told my dad that he did not need to pay the mort or the bankruptcy payment. In the end they took $1500 from him. We ended up getting the order on our own. I have emails confirming all this.

He lost $1,500 and we want it back

New Hope Modifications presented themselves as a Modification company with Attorneys that would sit with my mortgage company to lower my monthly payments. After speaking with the mortgage company - New Hope never submitted the correct paperwork. Turns out there are no attorneys at New Hope and the refund I was promised if they failed to lower my monthly payments or interest rate have not been returned (promised a refund of 75%). I paid them 1,250.00 and I submitted the refund fund form but I'm unable to get someone to answer my calls.

I was already behind due to helping two ill children. Be scammed out of 1,250.00 has made my hole even deeper. Unable to sleep at night because of this loss.

I started the modification process in late November 2008 when I was only 1 1/2 payments behind. New Hope finally contacted my mortgage company January 8th. The promised to get me the modifcation and they took my $500.00 down payment and I was due to pay another 1300.00 once it was approved. I was in contact with my mortgage company daily and should have gone that route in the first place. My payments were not being made as I was told not too per New Hope. I finally got a foreclosure notice in the mail late February and my sale date is on April 7th 2009. my modification was denied due to my decrease in income...well I would assume if that was not the case I would have been more apt to pay an 1823.00 mortgage for a 200,000.00 home.

I had a couple of weeks to make a decision based on what I had to do to keep a roof over my childrens head and myself. They told me not to worry about it both my mortgage company and new hope modifications! I decided that they did not have my best intrest in mind and i found a home to rent. I am letting the house go back to the bank that I worked so hard to get into and paid so much for every month. I hope that by hearing my story of modifications that dont work you will think twice before you go that route. File chapter 13 or call an attorney for advice. They will give you the truth. We are only a number to the mortgage companies and bait for the loan modification companies if you are behind some how try to get caught up. Do not trust the people on the phone they know that we are in need an will take advantage of you.

I was contacted by K. Fitzpatrick from New Hope Modifications that assured me and my family he could work with my mort. company, Nationwide Advantage, to get our loan modified . I skipped one payment in Jan 2009 and already months behind on my payments (that is why I paid them to help). Luckily I have saved every email I ever received with them since I had been scammed in the internet in the past. (I have the proof). I didn't get any past due letters from my lender, Nationwide, so I thought that everything was working ok. I would receive emails basically every week telling me it was still in Lidigation and that was a Good Sign.

I started getting troubled when I attempted to call them and no answer. Went directly to a voice mailbox, then couldn't get in touch with any of the previous folks I was passed to. When I emailed some of the people, They returned back undeliverable. The other suspcious thing was on my canceled check in the memo section has Kevin Fitzpatrick's name. Last week, I get a message left on my voice mail saying that the company is closing, keeping the modification department open and my file is still in review. I have been attempted a contact since then with NO LUCK.

This is ridulcous that companies can do this to people. Now I got to swallow up and call my mortgage company today to ask if they will work with me in my back payments. Pray for our family! I should have thought something was up when they were persistant to get my money before they would help our family. There should be something that we can do to protect our homes.

I have lost out 1500.00, stressful (already have been depressed with the financial problems and on meds) and the frustration of no communications. And my husband is laid off now so that isn't much of a help.

Currently, I am living in Venice, Italy. Financially, I was secure until I divorced in 2003. I was able to maintain my mortgage payments on my primary home in Edgartown, MA until two years ago. After re-financing with Sovereign Bank, I found I had difficulty meeting my monthly mortgage payment. Before it became a grave problem, I contacted Sovereign to try to renegotiate with me but they were rigid and would not help me. Because of my continuing concern and the fact that now, my money arrives cyclically but Sovereign was still unwilling to help me arrive at a new agreement, I contacted New Hope when read about them on MSN.

I spoke with them several time, (Mr. Giacomucci) before I signed on. I was told that within 30-90 days there would be a resolution. It has now been nearly 5 months; I have not paid my mortgage since last year as Sovereign refused to accept my partial payment. My summer courses which now have been established within my programs are sufficient to carry my home on a year-to-year basis. Having not heard from New Hope, I wrote several emails to H. Lewis, my 'representative' but never heard back from her.

In searching the 'net, I now see that New Hope was a scam operation that has closed down leaving many of us bereft and now, duped. I am incensed and outraged that a company that was so positively reviewed on MSN and Good Morning America has indeed, been engaged in fraudulent actions. Please! I need restitution of my $2,517.00 which was automatically deducted from my account. This home is essential for me and my children and for the summer institutes. It represents a significant portion of my income and without it, I will be severely hampered in my ability to support myself and my minor daughter.

Was told by a lady named Erica that I had two options to modify my loan in January of 2009, three weeks later didn't think I could afford it. Raul R told me to fill out a form to ask for my money back, sent it off and got back as a return to sender. Have tried to call and just get busy signals.

Was able to get a modification with my mortgage company, but have to find 2900 a month for 5 months to do it and catch it up or will loose my home.

I too also called these people thinking they were going to help get my loan modified but yet not have seen results.I gave them the 1500.00 they asked for and to no avail here i am trying to get someone to call me back.

I signed on with New Hope back in December. They PROMISED me they could modify my loan for $1500. I skipped January's mtg pymnt, then feb, then march (now 3 months behind) waiting to hear some good news-as promised. I have been shuffled from person to person. I paid in full (instead of pying mtg) and now here I sit with no modification, out $1500 and terrified to contact my lender scared how much I may owe by now. I do all the finances for my family and feel SO stupid I fell for this fraudulent company. I may have to tell my husband we will be foreclosed. I am goign to throw up now.....Who can help us???

Out $1500 and possibly a home. HELP!

I used new hope modifications based on channel 9 news, money 101, once I began to deal with the company in Sept I was told to fill out the forms that were faxed to me and return them which at that time I did, the company stated that I to pay 3188.15, In december I recieved a phone call stating that my modification was deined, at that point I began to ask that my money be turned which it never was, and no one every turned my calls.

I lost my home, and that was all the money I had I to move into apt. I'M homeless.

we had to file bankruptcy in order to save our house.we found new hope on the internet.they seemed like they were a legit company.we talked to joseph, who said he could help us.we paid our 1,250.00 fee.from day one we got the run around.we talked to different people who just gave us a lot of false hope.mellisa was our new contact person.she told us that the bankruptcy courts would not release any of our information.according to our bankruptcy lawyer, he said the bankruptcy courts would work with new hope.we requested to get a refund, mellisa said that we needed to fax a letter indicating that we wanted a refund.never got a refund. we tried to contact someone, but only got voice mails.we got scamed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we lost our house.our american dream.we have gone through a lot of stress, tears, depression. lost money that we will never get back. thanks new hope for ripping us off.

gave them 3600.00 for loan modification and thought they were with the goverment and now they are closed and they didn't even contact my bank

i have been working with David who said that he could help me with lowering my payments and assist with any outstanding payments, I spent $1200.00 for his assistance and was told not to make any more payments to the mortgage company, this has been a few months since he told me this late 2008. I sent in all the paperwork was told my contact person was Debbie as well and I would be all set. Guess what I am in the same position as the rest of my fellow people who have been scamed. thank god my husband said that didn't sound right and for me to call the mortgage company myself, which i did and was able to get help.

I am out of the $1200.00 and for the last couple of weeks the phone number has been busy and no return emails. I would like to have my money back. I hope there is some help for us that have been scammed. One bit of advise my mortgage company gave me any modifications that can be done you can do yourself without the fee's of these companies.

out of $1200.00 behind on payments and totally violated as a citizen.

I gave them 3000.00 dollars for them to mitigate my mortgage and they didnt they never returned calls to me or my bank the took my money and now they dont pick up dont call no voice mail no one

I am out the money and the bank will probably still foreclose on me and they were featured on Good Morning America

NEW HOPE took 2.500.00 back in Feb and no phone answer. Pasting me to the four person handing my case on. Yestoday I got a call they ar closing. Can they give me my money back if they can no modify.

i contacted them about a mod and it took me several calls to decide to go ahead with this after tonya assured me it was a sure thing that we could get our payments lowerd and so i let them with draw 1495.00 from our account in ocy 2008. it took untill feb before i heard anything i told tonya i knew that i was eligible for a repayment plan but that i could not afford one that would mean my payments would be higher. this is why i needed the modification.

i tried to make payments when i could to keep from forcloser but i sent them one of our house payments.they came back with an anwser after dozens of calls to them with no responses or that that person i was working with was no longer with the company. there were 3 or 4 of them that no longer work for the company. the answer was i could get a repayment plan. this is something i already knew they wanted to set me up with a 1395.00 payment when my original house payment was only 1095.00. this was unaccectable.

so i requested a refund.they sent me over to executive services i delt with 3 or 4 different people they said it would take 30 days or more. now all i get when i call ther is a busy signal or a voice mail. no more peopl in this office?? i asked the same questions as some of of the other people to them abouth the comments on the website with the same answer the were discruntal customers are all of there customers discruntal.there is something wrong with this company. some one please help us all!!!

loss of a house payment and futher behind in our house payments and more damage to our credit.. and all the stress it has myself and my husband through. he has been to the doctors and had to be put on meds for hives from his nerves.

I contacted this company to help me modify my loan after getting nowhere directly with my lender. I was two months behind in my mortgage payments and desperate. I foolishly fell for this company's pitch. I now know that any company that asks for such high fees upfront is most likely a scam. They did contact my lender -- once -- and set up a repayment plan, but that did not help me as the repayment plan was $600 more than the monthly mortgage payments that I couldn't afford in the first place!

Since that was no help, I continued falling behind in my payments. I am now working directly with my lender to modify my mortgage FREE OF CHARGE. I only wish I hadn't handed over $2,000 to New Hope (should be called False Hope) back in November 2008. I still try to call the company to speak with someone to demand a refund, and I get recordings, voicemails, and runarounds. I am now going to report them to my state's attorney general's office. I will probably never see my money again.

We where scammed out of $1,500.00 that was supposed help with the modification of our home. Nothing was being done, went from negotiator after negotiator. Even called to complain to Vince R that they only wanted our money. Also out $60.35 for fed X overnight personal paper work, and for faxing signed documents. Concerned about all the privacy information they have of ours. From W-2 forms, payroll stubs, etc... Ended up with a sale date of our home for March 11th, 2009.

Did talk to our lender who is working with us. But had to come up with $1,616.39 today to save our home. Recieved many e-mails from pepople all over telling us that New Hope is a Scam. One was from an employee who explanes all information to prove this is true. Sugestion for everyone to contact the New Jersey Attorney General's Office. Hopefully they can freeze the assets of the company, then maybe we can look at a class action suit to recoup some of what was stolen from us.

Loss of $1,560.35.

In the beginning they contact you as if they will help, once they get the money you probably will not hear from this company again, no one will return calls and they deliver no results. I have yet to find out any information regarding my loan modification. I have paid $2,500 and have no results or a returned phone call. There is an answering service that picks up the incoming calls and no longer a live person who answers the phone that use to transfer the calls to the extension, their site is under construction, how convient. I have sent e-mails and and faxes, no response. I will be going to the Better Business Bureau as well to complain and try and get some of my money back. New hope is No Hope!

This has caused me pure stress and have to start all over with another company, locally I must say. I cannot express my anger and the time I have wasted on this company.

I worked for this company. I got loan modifications but I want all of you to understand that there were 8 or 9 mitigators and upwards of 1300 files. I understand this isn't your fault however it was impossible to contact every customer every week. We tried but it was just a physical impossibility. The company was understaffed and refused to do anything about it. All the mitigators there did every thing they could to help. We were on hold with Lenders anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.

The sales people would sell the mod, collect the money and then leave. We were then left to re-sell the mod and sometimes, when we did get a mod, the customer wasn't happy because he was told his mod would have been different. You don't understand the tremendous amount of pressure there was. We had files that had sales dates within 15-30 days of receiving the files and that should have never happened. The sales people wouldn't tell us there was a sales date. It wasn't until we spoke to the customer (usually 7-10 business days after receiving the file) that we were informed of the pending sales date.

I guarantee we contacted every lender for every client. The lenders have several different departments and we spoke with the Loss Mitigation or Home Retention departments, not the Customer Service or Collections departments you speak with. CS or Collections would have no idea we contacted them unless they looked further into their computer systems ... different screens. I promise you this. If you have had dealings with New Hope Modifications, contact your Lender and ask for the Loss Mit department or Home Retention department. They will tell you they've received Authorizations or full packages in some cases. I am in NO WAY defending this company because they SHOULD have done more and they SHOULD have refunded money ... all of which was a separate department entirely in New Hope.

Mitigation had nothing to do with refunds. Our job was to fax over the authorization, collect all items needed from the client, go over debts and income to be sure what was submitted to us was accurate and then submit entire package to the lender. Once that was complete, once a week, we contacted the lender to check status. If the file was in review, that was what we informed the client - the same day either via email or phone. Sometimes both. We weren't given all the details of your files either. Some clients I spoke with said well, the Sales Person I spoke with told me not to include that.

Take my advice, please ... if you are in peril, CALL YOUR LENDER AND INITIATE A MODIFICATION YOURSELF RIGHT NOW. Do not be afraid to contact them. They want to help you. They want you to keep your home.

As far as New Hope goes, I don't know if you will be getting a refund if you requested it, I haven't spoken to anyone there for months.

First of all I'd like to let everyone know that I was a prior employee of New Hope Modifications, therefore I can tell you first hand that this company is a scam. They lured me to thier company with promises of a better future for me and for my family.Little did I know I would be working for poeple with very little disregard for anyone or anything. When I was intervued, I was told they were there to help people, which was not the case. After a short time I realized I had made a bad decision but it was too late,I needed to feed my family so I stuck around hoping to find employment elsewhere. There were so many times a few of us just wanted to walk out of there(yes, believe it or not there were a handful of employees that had morals)they hired a vp by the name of Mike M who even suggested we make up income for borrowers! The nerve!

And to add to all this,I found out they would overcharge clients so they could pay employees. We all knew some wierd things were going onbut we knew for sure when our Manager Melissa F left on "vacation" 2 days before we moved to another office and were supposedly changing our name. They had us help them pack everything for them, then, at the end of the day they handed us our checks and told us they did not need us anymore. That day 7 people were left without a job. No,John V did not get fired for not doing his job like someone tried to make people think. We got let go so they could keep the "unethical" employees. Please do not be fooled by these people.

I contacted New Hope Loan Modifications on Jan. 7th, 2009 as I received an email from them before Christmas about saving my home from foreclosure. I sent an email to LaTaysa Young and she went over what New Hope could do for me. I thought about it for a few days...and hadn't really done the research on companies that say they can help save your foreclosure. I decided to see if they could help me. LaTaysa sent me the paperwork and said that the $2,000 that I paid upfront would go toward my mortgage eventually and it would help show the mortgage company I was serious. Sounded real to me. So I did fill out the paperwork and send it to LaTaysa. She also told me that once they make contact with my mortgage company that everything is put on hold as far as the mortgage payment go and I should continue to save money to go to my mortgage company but not contact them as they would be the ones dealing with the mortgage company.

So I waited a couple weeks and then decided to call someone and find out how it was going. My calls and emails went unanswered..and when I finally did get ahold of someone, I was told the same old thing. Everything is going fine. This went on until March 1st when I got notice in mail that my home was scheduled for sheriff's sale in April. When I called the mortgage company, they told me that noone had ever contacted them from New Hope. I finally called and spoke with Melissa to ask for a refund and she was very quick to send me the refund paper work and it seemed like I would finally get some attention from this company. She apparently passed my file onto a Vinny and he had me refax all my papers that I sent back in Jan. and said someone would contact me by the 13th of March.

Well, it is now the 19th of March and I have not heard from them although I have called them every day and refaxed them my refund request on the 16th. I have also been emailing Melissa that I do indeed want a refund for the $2,000 I initially paid as I could use that now to try and save my house! The phone number goes directly to voicemail now and of course, they have not called me. My mortgage company needs $8,000 to stop the sheriff's sale. Which I do not have.

$2,000 and a chance I may lose my home because I put my faith in them that they were a reputable company and would be able to help me.

I tried to get a modification thru New Hope Midifications, I had tried to get a modification by my self and I was turned down I was 3 months late, at the time. I contacted New Hope Modifications, informed them I was 3 months late and had been turned down for a modification. I was told that if I paid them 1200.00, I would not have to make my payments, save them until I was approved to pay a down payment on the modification. They assured me they would get my modification approved. They said this was what they did and that I could not be turned down. So I paid the 1200.00.

I constantly sent emails, which I have, wanting to know the progress. Nothing. They always put me off. I started to freak out because we were going to lose our home. I sent more emails, Nothing. This all began at Christmas and I just found out 2 weeks ago, 3 months later that I was turned down and they couldnt help me. SO now Im 6 months behind and on a repayment plan of 1800.00 a month for 6 months. I dont know how we are going to pay this and my emails for a refund and my faxes will not go through.

I dont know what to do. They are a fraud, they scam innocent people out of their hard earned money. Its pathetic and I will get my money back if I have to hire a lawyer. I want to make sure this doesnt happen to anyone else. I am now 6 months behind on my mortgage. I had to pay my mortgage company 3000.00 down and 1800.00 for 6 months I dont know how we are going to pay this. We are far worse than we started all because of New Hope Modificaitons, I could have used the 1200.00 I paid them to pay my mortgage down.

This modification Co. has ripped me off for over $800.00. Now you can not reach a single person within the company. i have left 25 different messages i have faxed i have written my bank has told me to call the police. This company needs to be shut down and thrown in jail

i lost my house and I lost over $800.00 and I have had bank fees on my account that has caused bad checks how embarassing

New Hope is currently facing 3 lawsuits. I heard of New Hope through a friend and decided to give these guys a shot however I was reluctant at first i did some research and saw that they had some good feed back as well as bad feedback online, you may ask why I then went with them well these people seemed to be very friendly and understanding that's how they get you. I faxed over all my documentation and have been waiting for almost 90+ days. H. Lewis from the company kept emailing me with different [lies] each time telling me that the modification was underway.

Well this week i decided to give my mortgage company a call and what they told me [upset] me, my blood was burning they said these guys don't do any sort of negotiation (which i was told they would do). Once i heard that news I called the New Hope number and all i get are disconnected notice and a General mailbox notice. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY!

I am no longer able to pay my mortgage I am behind 2 months on my first mortgage and 4 months on the 2nd. I am pretty sure I will be facing foreclosure soon.

I contacted them in early jan about my home loan and they told me they could lower my payment a get my back payments taken care of so i sent them $1,500 in two payments of 750.00 and after a few weeks i started calling and after a few differnt stories they told me they would call me with a report on march 16 2009 well on the 16 i called with no answear then today i found out that the new jersey attorney genreal has shut them down for fraud

I am now 4 months behind on my house payment and out $1,500 to these scamm artists and in danger of losing my home

thankyou for your site it alerted us we found from are bank they used a unautherized draft to get are money we changed bank accounts got are money back and they will have to deal with the FDIC THANK YOU ST.PATRICK GOD BLESS we are now talking with are lender and hoping for a house affordible modification with hud thanx again and bless all of you at consumer affairs

I contacted New Hope regarding what options were avilable to me on my mortgage; I am (and always have been) current but I do have an ARM which is set to adjust the end of this year. The salesperson (Stan S) went on and on about all of the different things they could do and implied they had a program that would decrease my interest rate to 3%. Like a fool I feel for it and paid the $1,200 fee on 12-15-08. I have not heard anything further from them and when I call I am told the 'case is in review'.

I soke today (03-17-09) to Brian and requested a refund based ont he fact they have not done anything for me and also as I have now read all of the bad publicity they have rec'd. Brian told me that none of this was true and all was the result of a disgrunted employee and that I could not get a refund because they have worked on my file. I asked what he has done and he kept saying it was 'in review'.

I am out $1,200 and am requesting a refund

Were contacted by this company to help us get a modification on our home loan. Paid them $1000 found out they could not help asked that no more payments be taken out of our account. They said ok and we would get a refund of the $1000, they then proceeded to take another $250 from our account. They then proceeded to take another $250 from our account unauthorized and now no response what so ever and we are back to starting point behind on payments even more because they took our money.

We received a check on 3/4/09 for $500 as a partial refund from them and it bounced!! Now we have charges from our bank and lord knows what else. Of course I get no response when I call just voice mail and no response to email. The message is different so I suppose they have changed names and went on to continue this scam. Please do not do business with this company.

We are at risk of loosing our home due to not making payments while they were working on our modification!! Help

I became a victim of New Hope Modification, In Dec I wanted to grt my mortgage paid up and lower my interest rate i pay 9%. I went on my mortgage com web site citimortgage and cane across a link to new hope. I did a on line application. Ace A called me the next day and told me that they could help me. I paid $500 that and $750 a week later.A week later I got a call from Erica telling that Deddie B was working on my case,I never talked to debbie. After a week I call Erica and got her voice mall she said she would me in 24to48 hrs well i got a call from CitiMortgage telling at they need to talk to me about mt mortgage payment, I told them what happen i was told that on one from New Hope call them on my behave.

I am stresssssssssssed out and now my home is in foreclosure, thanks to new hope.

the same as all the rest you have on your long list of victims. what I want to know is when is there going to be acounttabillity from those who are supposed to protect us from scum like this

out $2240.00+more stress

We have been talking with New Hope for months,10/08 ,paid 3,000.00 for 2 loan modifications, told to quit making mortgage payments. Passed from rep to rep, did finally get paperwork on one of the loans (LITTON) but the escrow amounts for way off so i refused to sign new paperwork untill corrections were made, now months have gone by again, they tell us Devon is no longer with them and a supervisor would be handling our case and would be in contact, weeks later and several more fone calls no reply, as i am typing this my wife is on the fone with one of our mortgage co.(EMC) trying to work it out on our own.

Ok update (wife on fone) EMC mortgage co says they have not heard from New Hope since Nov 08, (5 months ago) they instructed me to their website and at no cost and will be glad to look at modifing. This was a HUGE MISTAKE. We were so close to bk before we started this process but DO NOT/DID NOT WANT TO but we are now re-looking into bk.

I gave tnem $1900 after they promised a loan modification that lower my interest rate and payment by a ton. Call after call, nothing! Scott Cardenick was my guy, who later quit and called me to apologize for his telling me all their stuff. He was fired prior to his phone call. I was tehn put in touch with Adam Burke, another full fledged lier, who after months of lying put me in touch with Kelly, I don't have her last nam with me, but she was from the executive branch.

I wanted my money returned and after her telling they still wanted to do the monification, I said absolutely not. She was very friendly on the phone, even returned a call while they were moving. That's the end of that, never again returned a call, another pure bred lier, and those of us in need are getting screwed worse by these crooks. They put a similar person in prison for life yesterday and his wife needs to go with him, for life. As far as I'm concerned, the owner of this place and his employees that smooth talk their way into helping people knowing they were taking our money, should be charged and put in prison with the owner. Either that or let he have 10 minutes with each of them in a closed room.

Foreclosure is about to happen. Can't help it. We had trouble making payments on our hom ethat's now worth $125,000 and I owe $195,000. With a lower payment and less taxes consequently, we could have made it, instead, we not only lost $1900 we desperately needed, we've fallen so far behind we're done. I am a 100% disabled Viet Nam Vet, again, thanks to a country for helping us who served and got wounded repeatedly. I am now on higher drugs for my PTSD, and want to take these people out. If given a shot or if I can find their new location, Lord help them!

We hired them to help us modified our mortgage with wells fargo bank. To make a long story short, we bought our property in june 2003. We did it directly with buyer to owner and did paper work with wells fargo loan officer. we hired a home inspector before buying the house to see if its a good or bad investment. once we moved in we found out that the house had major damages. 2nd home inspector and contractors we hired to find out the cost to repair was over $90,000 or tear down the house and build a new one on it. we filed a law suit in 2004 against the former owners of the house and home inspector. we didnt file a law suit against the bank but we know they were indirectly responsible for what happened since they were our lender.

we won the civil law suit against the former home owners and in the process to collect in 2007 and settled with the home inspector. our case was based on deception of disclosure on the former home owners and malpractise and negligence on home inspector. the legal lawsuit cost us alot of money which we borrowed and still paying for it. we ended up filing for bankrupcy on chapter 7 and hired new hope modification in jan 2009 to help deduct the principle of the mortgage which we felt have a legal justification since we won a legal suit based on fraud on our property and the house isnt worth what we paid for. the last time i had direct contact with someone at new hope was on 3/12/2009 by phone. by email was in mid february. today 3/13/2009 the phone are busy all day and noone is answering the phone.

First of all I'd like to let everyone know that I was a prior employee of New Hope Modifications, therefore I can tell you first hand that this company is a scam. I heard today on the news about new hope modification. I paid them 1900.00 to help me modify my mortgage back in December, have not seen any results to this day, they tell me call back in 10 days. They told me not to pay my mortgage because this is what the 1900.00 was for. I am in bankruptcy and they told me they would get it taking out of and get me lower mortgage payments, I went there and I had a feeling last friday, I also went to aoffice in mt laurel and filed a police report with the mt laurel police

I am on verge of going into foreclosure, I don't know what I am going to do, I do have call into my mortgage company. Thank you

i had found this company in the internet because i was 2 month beging next day somebody call me her name was gina, i fax the working agrement with all my banks informations they had take a $700.00 from my bank, and i haven't hear anything since that they, and also my house is in default. thanks to new hope.

my house is in default and also i have to take pills to go sleep.

I was working with new hope mod. for about 4 months. I was told that John Velez was handling my file and that he would take care of me. I spoke to him once or twice and he told me he was working on my file and that is was submited to my mortgage co. Citi Mortgage. I thought everything was going good. I then called to speak with John Velez and could not get a response from him.

after 3 months of John Velez working on my file I called Citi Mortgage myself. They informed me that they didnt have anything about new hope or John Velez working on my file. Last week I called New Hope Modifications and I was told that John Velez had been let go from the company for not doing what he was hired to do which was work on others files like mine. Now that he is gone my file is being worked on and I get contacted at least once a week to let me know what is going on. I learned from the last time that I was told they were working on my file so I called Citi Mortgage myself. And what do I find...They are really working on my file. I was told that they are working with New Hope and my file is now being reviewed. Im so glad that John Velez was fired. He was letting people lose their homes and letting them think that something was being done. I will recomend to use New Hope Modifications now that I am seeing results.

I called them to help me save my house from foreclosure. And in the 4 months I had them working on my situation/case they have not resolved anything. Now I'm behind more in my mortgage payments.

I gave them $1250.00 to help me save my house and now all I see is me being out of the money that I could of used to find a reliable help or for a payment towards my mortgage.

They took twice $500.00,

and I pay $1,250.00 for a Modification on my House Loan, they do not send my papers and they don't want to return the money.

My Company do not receive the papers from them for the Modification, and they want to sell my home, I make payments arrangements, and my first month was $1,670,00, more the $400.00 on my regular payment.

Now, New Hope Modificaation, do not response my phone calls, and they don't want to return the money.

I contact New Hope Modifications, LLC at the end of November and dealt with Raquel. I was told that New Hope could modify my mortgage with HSBC to a lower interest rate and put the 2 months I was behind at the back of the loan. I paid 1500 to New Hope 500 and 200 every two weeks until 1500 was paid. I was told my file was given to the mitigation department and that they would be contacting me. In December still did not hear from New Hope so I contacted Raquel who had moved to a different office supposedly due to a promotion. She once again assured me it was being handled and to contact the mitigation office to check on my file.

I called the first week of January and spoke with Devon. She informed me that this process could take 30-90 days to complete and that they were working on my file. Shortly after I received an e-mail from a James Wilson requesting copies of my tax returns. I called him and let him know that Raquel had received all these documents and to contact her. He replied that she was no longer with the company. I let him know that I just had spoken with her and gave him her extension. He then e-mailed me back stating she had faxed them to him and he would let me know if there was anything else he needed. Never heard from him again. During this time, I am under the impression my file is being worked on by the mitigation department.

Now we are in February. I called and demanded to speak to someone regarding my file and was connected to several people: Melissa and Dawn. Dawn removed my file from James and gave it to Erica whom she said was their best mitigator and that my file would be handled. At this time, I was receiving e-mails stating the company was folding and opening under a different name, etc. I called an low ad behold, the phones had been disconnected. I called every number I had for them, and was finally able to reach someone in person. They informed me that Erica was still with them and that they were only moving the mitigators to the office were the sales division was and that they were not changing names. Mind you, I had received a notice from an attorney representing the mortgage company stating they were starting foreclosure proceedings.

After several days of trying to get through to Erica, I was once again asked to fax current paystubs and tax info to her as she stated the mortgage company had requested updates. I provided requested information. We are now in March. On March 2 I e-mailed Erica and let her know I wanted this handled, I could not wait any longer and the foreclosure process had been started. She e-mailed me back and let me know she was contacting the mortgage company that afternoon and would get back with me. Heard nothing that day.

On March 4 was contact my Erica and told that there was nothing they could do. The mortgage company would not do a modification since a sale date had been set for March 13. I had not received anything regarding a sale date. I e-mailed her back stating that and demanding a refund. I called my mortgage company and spoke with them to resolve the situation. To my dismay, HSBC states that they had heard from New Hope back in December, but never received any papers and this was the first time since then that they had contacted them. The only thing that New Hope did this time was to inquire as to HSBC's modification process. HSBC said they did not ask for a modification just inquired as to what to do. I was furious! HSBC said that if I were to pay $4000.00 of the 7,000 owed that they would stop foreclosure proceeding and add the remainder on to the back of my loan. I said okay as I was back against a wall by this time.

The next morning I contacted a non-profit organization that was on the Early Show (CCC out of Dallas). Within an hour Debbie from CCC was able to get my foreclosure process stopped and a hardship application submitted. I also have another woman who asks for no money up front helping me with the loan modification process. New Hope Modifications has caused me undue stress and has completely mismanaged my file. If they had done what they were suppose to 4 months ago, I, my husband and 4 children would not have been in jeopardy of losing our home.

I have requested a refund of my 1500 and reported them to the BBB. I want people to know to beware of scams and that there are non-profit organizations out there to help individuals who have problems making there mortgage payments. I learned this the hardway.

I called Hope Now Modifications, LLC or should I say New Hope Modifications, LLC. I noticed that they have once again changed their name and now they are Hope Now Financial Services,LLC. They should not be allowed to open any buisness. I told them what happened with my mortgage company which really wasn't that bad. I was only a month behind. Terry M. who I had spoken to was given me a great deal and saying that most of the modifications that lenders have given homeowners never work for their benefit. I felt everything that he was saying was right. At first I wasn't felling really sure about the company, so I didn't my research or at least as much research as I thought I needed on this company. Terry told me what documents I needed to send to him and how much was my monthly payment. I told him $1900 and he said that the money would be put in an escrow account and they would charge a fee only if the lender agreed to the modification and if he couldn't do anything, that I would receive my full refund back.

So I called Terry when the first payment was due (because they wouldn't start any work on your case unless you pay them) and told him it was okay (I was not smart I know) and then he called me a week alter and told me that he needed my insurance information. I faxed that over and that he said that should be all that he needed and now he was sending it to a processor to work on. he said I should be getting a phone call within 48-72 hours and my progress. I never recieved a call. After the new year I called Terry and told him that no one has called me and he assured me that the processor was working on it and I gave him another number where they could reach me. The middle of Jan.09 I called Terry because once again I havn't heard anything even with given them the new number. never got a call back, so I e-mailed Terry and he repsonded with reassurance agian that everything was fine. I called Terry at the end of Jan. 09 because once again nothing. He told me that my paper work was with a negotiator.

Now I never thought twice about what was going on because I did receive a letter from my mortgage comapny stating that they had received the authorzation for them to speak to Hope (New) Now Modifiaction, LLC on my behalf so I said okay and sent in the other half of my payment. After the last payment I spoke to Terry maybe twice after that. The last time I spoke to terry was about 3 weeks ago. I called them to find out any up dates and he said frm what he see everything looked great. I tried calling Terry two week ago and left him a message and he never called me back. He always told me if he doesn't answer that phone at his ex. that I could reach him on his cell. I called and left a mess on both. I called the very next day and nothing. I was so busy in the week that I never called him back all last week.

I called yesterday and I couldn't get him once again. I tried the cell nothing. Normally he would answer or call me back. Something said call the mortgage compnay I called and they told me that the last inforamtion they recived was on Jan 21.2009 and all it said was the I was one month behind, and all my contact inforamtion and loan number. The rep. said she doens't have any paper work or anything stating modifaction needed. Now I am 4 month behind instead of the one month. I know should have called the mortgage company myself but that's all I had been doing and all I got was the run around and everytime they tried to help they would make my payment higher and wasn't helping so I turned Hope Now Modification,LLC thing they can help. I need my money back and people like me who was gotten by this company needs to get together and sue the man who created this company. He is able to keep opening the same help program under differnet names and it's a shame. Times are hard enough and scum like that needs to be put away and striped of everything they own. Where can we go get help? Does anyone know please post and let me know how we can take this scum of the earth down.

I spoke with New hope in december .they took 1700.00 in january and did nothing ...Never contacted my morgage co. never called me back... after many call's un ansered.. called my morgage Co my self....

I lost of money with my morgage CO. Due to the lawer's and forcloser they when in to...they put my house up for sale. put it in the local paper. I did work it out with my lender no thanks to New hope.

I to became a victim of New Hope. They wasted no time taking the money out of my account but here it is 4 months later and nothing has been done. I received an e-mail from someone claiming to work at New Hope and they informed me this company was nothing but a scam. I found a number to there company and needless to say left a nasty voice mail. What do you know someone called me well to little to late.

I seriouslly doubt that I will even get a refund. I was told by this guy Chris that the person I received the e-mail from was a digrunteled employee. He assured me someone would get back to me well 3 days later still have not heard from anyone. I don't take getting ripped off lightly.

I spoke with Antoinette back in October 2008 and told her that I was having a hard time paying my mortgage and home equity loans. I had already gotten a loan modification on the home equity and was trying to get a loan modification on my mortgage - with no luck so far. I told her that I wanted to combine both mortgages into one and try to get the payment lowered to what I am paying just for the mortgage. She said that would be no problem, they would be able to do that for me. I completed all of the paperwork and sent my payment to them, $1997.00 and then waited to hear from her. Had not heard anything by the end of the month so I contacted her and she said everything had been sent to the corporate office and I would be assigned someone from there.

I called the corporate office and was told that Dan was my liason and that he would be contacting me. Since then I have heard from him a total of 2 times. The first time, in November, he informed me that they do not handle refinancing when the mortgage and the home equity are from 2 different places and that Antoinette should never have told me that they could. I then told him that I wanted a refund and did not want to be with there company. He said he would take care of that. Another month goes by and I call him back and he said he did not tell me that. That they have already taken care of stuff for me and could not do that.

I then wrote a letter to them, and sent a copy of the agreement I had signed with them, stating that they would refund, minus a processing fee, etc. I have yet to hear anything on that, and that was in January. I am going to be sending another letter to them next week, with another copy of their agreement and will request a refund. I have already obtained a lawyer for filing bankruptcy (which does not include the mortgage) and have been in direct contact with my mortgage company for a modification. I am going to be asking my lawyer what can be done about this. I have already contacted and placed a complaint with the better business bureau and the attorney general. HOpefully something will come of it.

I am 2 months behind on my mortgage and the problem with them has only caused me undue stress - I have had to go on additional medications for the anxiety.

To relay on what was said on here about changing their names it happens all the time. a friend of mine who went to work for one said that they changed their name to Fresh Start, so beware of the scams out there, do your due diligence

my home is in default, and due to past problems with my mortgage company, not receiving papers, and papers not being received, some time had gone by, approx 5 months, and i was sent a letter from my mortgage company, if an agreement was not made by the end of january, my home was going to go into forclosure. i came across a loan modification company (new hope modifications) mt.laurel, new jersey, online, filled out the online application, and was contacted by this company a couple days later, i spoke with a woman who said that someone would contact me by phone, which was frank the next day. he emailed me a contract to sign online which i tried, but due to not being able to download the adobe reader, i was unable too,

i emailed and asked that it be mailed to me, i also told him that i had an 80/20 loan, and he said it would be two seperate fee's one for each, and he said he would mail two seperate contracts, which i only received one, i explained to him that i did not have a bank account and have not for sometime, and that i would have to make a payment with a prepaid visa card, and would do so at the time i faxed the contract, financial worksheet, letter to the barrower, tax, employee information. all information was faxed (2-18-09) i than through email, notified frank that the info was faxed, and that i needed to know since he told me that $750 was needed to start the first loan modification, what additional i would need to start for the second, he by phone said an additional $250 so a total of $1000 for both, and i would have a balance of $1000 to be paid within 30 days.

after a few days, i emailed him telling him that i had not received the second contract, which i still till to this day of (3-2-2009) have not received, there have been quit a few emails between frank and myself, my complaints of not hearing from the company, two weeks later of no status of my modification that i had been requesting, my second contract not being mailed, concerns that i had, i would always be told ill get back to you, he than in one email said that the company was not going to accept credit card payments anymore because they were taking 15% out, than he asked if i had a bank account, which i thought was strange because a few emails prior, i told him i had not had a bank account for some time and it was in my financial worksheet that i hadn't, things just started getting strange,

than a couple days ago he emailed me, that i may receive an email from a disgruntald employee that they had to let go, who was emailing clients that the company was a scam, the red flag went up, i emailed him yesterday, (3-1-2009) that it had been two weeks no status on my modification, no second contract sent, and giving them $1000 (2-18-2009) and another $400 for the second modification and the contract that i still have not received, 6 days ago, and the allegation of the scam, if i didnt hear something by (3-2-09) today, i would end my dealings with the company,

i never received a reply back, which i always received within the hour, today i called my mortgage company (asc) and was told that neither they, nor the bank had been notified by this company, and if the bank was notified, they would know, i have emailed frank 3 times today (3-2-2009) my first speaking with frank, at the end of january 09, he told me how i could call the better business beaur to check their company out, that they are a exceptional company and have alot of happy clients, after the email regarding the disgruntld employee, that frank sent me, i tried to find the better business beur online and came across two web sites, i found 24 complaints against this company since (11-01-08)

i feel i was mislead, and not only sickend, and when i faxed my contract with information on (2-18-09) i had also faxed to this company a letter from my mortgage company that said if an agreement was not made by the end of january 09 my home was going to go back into foreclosure, it has been a little over a month since my speaking and dealings with this company, and not one thing has been done, and my mortgage company was never even contacted, this puts me back even farther, i was also told by frank, new hope modifications that from the minute they received my fax which was (2-18-09) that my mortgage company could not touch my home and put it into forclosure,

We contacted New Hope Modifications October 1, 2008 for assistance. We were told by Brett Blair that they would be able to talk to the mortgage companies and get us a modification once they received full payment of $2900.00 for their services. Our case was turned over to Dan Caperetti to negotiate our modification.

We have been dealing with this company for 5 months now and have paid them $2900.00 for assistance and nothing has been done.

We have tried contacting Dan for the past 3 business days and received a busy signal. We are assuming that his phone line has been disconnected. Now we see that the company is dropping all pending cases and opening under a new business name. What are we to do?

We decided to contact our mortgage company, U.S. Bank and was told that they do not have any documentation from New Hope Modifications concerning our request for a loan modification.

U.S. Bank informed my husband that they do not deal with any modification company and only deal with the home owner to negotiate a loan modification.

We are out $2900.00 and our credit is shot because we trusted that New Hope Modifications would help us. We are currently fighting to keep our home from going into foreclosure.

Just to clear the air about this company,I have worked for them and most of the employees were great, honest people who were dupped by most of upper managment as well as most of the clients. This company was not set up to help borrowers save there homes, just a means to make a huge amount of money in the least amount of time. The mitigation staff at New Hope was filled with top knotch employees with tons of experiance. Some sales staff was as well.

The rumor is that New Hope Modifications is closing down shop and reopening as another modification assitance company, this means that if you have something with them in process right now, you will more then likely never hear from them again next week. On Thursday Feb 26, they let go all but 3 people from their mitigation staff because the owner hired people at 9 dollars an hour to take the places of the experianced and knowledgable staff that was let go. Please do your homework before signing with one of these companies. Check out the better buisness website, ask about the history of the company before giving your money away

These buisness practices are the same that has caused the mortgage crisis in this country.

You should know that this company has scammed MILLIONS of dollars out of homeowners like yourself. The company has laid off all of it's mitigation dept and NOBODY will be reviewing your situation. You WILL receive the run around from EVERYBODY you speak with. My advice for you would be to request a refund before the pirate of a businessman owner, B M Sr, files bankruptcy and there is no chance of getting your money back. Do you know that withen the first 4 months of this scam of business opening the owner bought a BRAND NEW BENTLEY, CONTINENTAL GT?? Look up how much this car costs.... I would also suggest you contact the attorney general and file a formal complaint. The new plan will be to drop ALL active files and reopen the business under a new name.

I know all of this because I am a current employee and can no longer sleep at night knowing what this company's true intentions are, scam allot of unfortunate homeowners out of money they could be using to send to their lenders and save their home.

If any of you are close to losing your home to foreclosure, CALL YOUR LENDER IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!! Ask them what can be done to save your homes. YOUR LENDER IS WILLING TO WORK WITH YOU!!!! I promise... No so called Modification Company can do any more then you can do. Please, take my advice before it is too late.

I want to say, from the bottom of my heart, I am very sorry for being part of this DESPICABLE company and helping them extort your money......

I contacted this company just 3 weeks ago. I dealt with Holly and Melissa. I was in foreclosure ( 4 months behind ) with Ocwen. My interest rate was cut in half---from 8.25% adjustable to 4.124% fixed. I owed Countrywide over $12k in past due amounts and was basically started over fresh with a good faith deposit to the lender of $1,800. I read alot of these complaints before deciding to take a leap of faith so to speak. My initial consultant was Greg H. He made no promises and really won me over because he said the exact opposite of every other company that called me. I can only speak about my experience but I would recommend New Hope to anyone.

In applying for a modification loan for our house, this company made false promises on lowering our interet rate and getting us a affordable monthly payment. We paid them $750 on month and then $700 the next month, totaling $1450. We never received anything from them other than email to let us know that HSBC would not budge on anything on the mortgage contract. So by the time this all ended, we are now 5 months behind on our morgage, as we were 2 behind when we signed up with this company, then sending them the next 2 months house payments, time waiting on the following month.

Many calls were made to this company, daily, to get a run around. I dealt with 3 different people from there, starting with a J. De'Angileno, then an E. Crohe, then A. Burke. I will get a hold of my mortgage holder now that I know for a fact that this place was a fraud. As we want to keep our house. This company needs shut down and made to repay everyone that they ripped off. And these people need to be behind bars for for this fraud.

We are going thru a lot of stress on trying to save our house. There is no way we can pay 5 months house payments! We are waiting at any time for them to foreclose, even though we are making our payments, just can't make the back 5 up. I am now doctoring for an ulcer because of all the stress.

I need to find out if they not a scam company for people fighting forecloser.

New Hope Modification contacted us in Nov. and said if we were behind in our mortgage payment they could help. They identified themselves as a mortgage modification company. They said they would negociate with our mortagage company CitiMortgage to get a lower mortgage rate, reduction in monthly payments and have all the arrears put at the back of the loan. They said our cost would be one monthly payment which is 1300.00, however they reduced that to 1250.00.

We paid the 1250.00 on Dec. 10 and we were told that all paper work had gone to the cooprate office on Dec. and a team would be assigned to our case. The team leader would be D. Bornoff who would contact us on Dec. 14 with instructions. Ms. Bornoff never contated us as we were told. We contacted our mortgage company Citi Mortgage only to find out that no contact from New Hope had been initiated. We made several calls to Ms. Bornoff and upon reaching her she said we had to give New Hope permission to contact CitiMortgage. She faxed us the permission and we immediately faxed the necessary information to her.

After several days and attempts to reach Ms. Bornoff, she requested the same paper work again. She still insisted that negoaciations were in progress with CitiMortgage. We contacted CitiMortgage, but they could not verify any negociations or contact from New Hope. Finally on January 5, 2009 we received 3 letters from CitiMortgage informing us that our home was in foreclosure and would be sold on Feb. 3, 2009. Also there was a letter showing that our home was put into Savannah Morning News and there was another letter telling us who we may contact for help.

We contacted CitiMortgage and negociated a settlement agreement our selves effective Jan. 52009. At this point CitiMortgage still was unable to verify any coontact from New Hope Modification on our behalf. We contacted New Hope Modification and they could not show us any documented proof of contact we told New Hope that we had reached an agreement our selves and we no longer wanted the contract; and because of no documented verifiable prof of negociation we requested our money to be refunded.

Upon talking to Ms. Bornoff she told us that this process would take 20-30 days with no guarantee of refund of of our money, she refered to Human Resources to a lady by the name of Kelly who faxed the document for refund request. Documentation is available.

It made it difficult to pay our bills on time including our mortgage.

I had worked for this company on a commission basis. I then moved into an hourly basis after moving into a new office. TWO DAYS LATER, they tell me that the company doesn't have enough money to pay me to work. I then decided on some research. I found similar complaints online. I called the BBB and the lady on the phone gave me a phone number and then hung up on me. I called the number only to speak to the Attorney General's office.

I got all of the phone numbers I could from my calling list, called them from home, and told them my story. I hope they made out ok. I, however, almost 6 months later, have still not received payment for my 2 days of work. I have called the Branch Manager multiple times, sent them emails and still have found nothing. During training, we were told to just get the money in and to not worry about the file after that. I never took anyone's money, and I'm glad I didn't...I would hate for that to be on my conscience. I hope before people send money in to this company, they do their research.

Just like anything else you buy, do your research, call the BBB and go from there. PLEASE REMEBER, this is YOUR HOME you are dealing with, not a pair of jeans or something. The government does have websites for this kind of help, and your mortgage company will work with you, they don't want to lose any more money than they already have.

I represent a woman who paid them money just like you and had the similar experience. She called them on Tuesday 2/10 and was told that there was nothing New Hope could do for her and her sheriff sale is scheduled for 2/17. I met her on Thursday and we filed an emergency chapter 13 petition on Friday and stopped the sale. She will now begin making repayment which the lender must accept.

You each need to contact a good bankruptcy lawyer; you will save your home, get on a repayment plan and quite possibly get your money back from New Hope by getting the bankruptcy judge to order it. She and each of you could use the judicial modification of mortgages bill now in Congress (House Bill 200/Senate Bill 61). Call your congressman and senator and tell them you need this bill passed ASAP! Good luck to each of you.

I payed them 1,700 to help me with my mortgage issue, they promised to contact NationStar to assist with resolution. We opened our file in November and paid the money to Shawn B (a rep of New Hope). After some time passing and no communication, I called and requested a refund. After a convining Shawn assured us based upon our paperwork a modification can definitly be done, we agreed to move forward.

I then e-mld Shawn again who stated my paperwork was in the Modification dept. So, we placed a call to John V we explained that we were told by our mortgage company that nonone from New Hope has made contact with their Mitigation department. I placed several calls and fwd an e-ml afterwchich I rcv'd a return callfrom John, all we need are 3 references, I will fwd them over and let you know s'thing. I called back to explain my mortgage company continues to state there has been absolutely no communication. Jojn of New Hope provided a couple of names(i.e.Pinky)and my mortgage company has no knowledge of this indiviual.

To date I've still not heard back from them and my home is now in foreclosure. I have been calling them to ask for my money back and I am getting ignored and forwarded to different voicemails. This company is the worst because they never kept in contact with me,I had to call them several times. Now I want my money back like they promised and I am not getting any return calls.John was aware that I am losing my home no response.I have been stressed and depressed because this incident. I really thought they could help me because they had me believe so and per Shawn B this is a done deal.I was also advised not to communicate with the mortgage company or make payments as they were working to make this work for us.Now I am out of $1700.

I LOST $1700 and my home is now in FORECLOSURE. We are stressed and depressed this was absolute fraud.

It looks like they are doing the right thing but having trouble with my mortgage company. I will let you know but I think they are on the right track.

I contacted this company for help. They were all ready to step in to help. They need 1 months mortgage to start. My mother stepped in and took care of the money. Dealt with Ed C. and then all of a sudden the case is with Holly L.. Who was never in the office - returned emails "sorry I was out for a personal reason".

To make a long tory short, I started this in September of 08 and she agreed to a term in January 09 that I told her would not work. House payment in $1500+ a month, how do they think I can pay $2100? But wait, it was ony to take a short time.. She said in December I was in foreclosure - no knowledge of this to me. No papers, just a quick comment from her on the phone, it sounded like a Jersey girl whine. Sorry, cannot help it. This was said said and is clearly heard in the tone of her voice because she is nerved and does not have the time to deal with me. I get the papers dated 1/16/09.

She had said that I needed to get insurance on the house, did that and they still placed forced insurance. She herself sent them the information but I wold have to contact them to have it removed. Citi added it on and on top of that they paid the taxes - news to me when I have the bill.

Well, I have since sold the house and Holly failed to inform me in a professional manner that they had already started the proceedings. CITI will not allow it to be sold for what is owed. This hosue is sold and now CITI will not allow it to be sold. GO FIGURE. So there goes another day off trying to salvage something and to be honest - I don't have the energy nor patience.

What has topped it off for me with this company, this letter i received from them is from the CEO - Brian M. - his signature is stamped on it, this is a clear example of when and when not to use copy and paste. You need to read what leaves your office with your signature on it.

I am seeing an Attorney tomorrow, they are very interested in this company as well as CITI - so I hope you do not have CITI as your lender.

I have left messages for Holly, ED and Brian J. to no avail. Ed was once a voice at the other end of the phone and now all you get is voice mail with no return call. They did nothing but make a situation that was bad now something that I cannot reverse. I am losing my home - I have it sold. now CITI will not allow the sale.

I payed them 1,700 to help me with my mortgage issue, they were suppose to contact countrywide to get me back on track.I opened a file in november and paid the money. I just heard back from them Mid January and they tell me they can't help me and thats the last I heard from the. I have been calling them to ask for my money back and I am getting ignored. This company is the worst because they never kept in contact with me,I had to call them several times.

Now I want my money back like they promised and I am not getting any return calls.Trust me I have talked to managers and left several voicemails. These people know I am losing my home, and now they want to keep my money as well.I have been stressed lately taking off of work because this incident has made me depressed. I really thought they could help me because they had me believe so.Now I am screwed.

We were worried about foreclosure on our home and searched some sites on the internet for help/advice. With in 24hrs. New Hope contacted us by phone. Vinnie told us they were privy to new gov't programs that would help us lower our monthly payments. He told us the whole process would take 3 weeks and we would have a lower payment. He instructed us to have no contact with Countrywide and not to make any payments. We followed all their instructions, gathering necessary info etc., and waited. We heard nothing for almost 1 1/2 months.

We finally contacted our lender and found out they had not been contacted by New Hope. I called threatening to go to the WI Attorney General. That same day we received a call from Dan telling us Petra would be handling our account. We again had to fax our info. and wait. A month went by any nothing was done save the authorization to access our account with Countrywide. 2 months past the time this was to have happened. Petra told us 3 weeks later that there was nothing she could do. The best she could do was have us pay $2000/month for six months to bring our account up to date.

We fell behind because of their actions/advice and now the best they could do was have us pay $500 more then our mortgage payments was in the first place. Ridiculous! Petra advised us to file for a refund. We did. Now Kelly is telling us they would not refund our money because they did get us a plan. A plan that we could have received ourselves and a plan they helped create. Scumbags.

We have filed a complaint with the BBB of New Jersey and they are fighting it. We would like to seek advice through an attorney and sue this company. The $1500 plus damages. Contact your Attorney General and get away from this corrupt company. They are not legitimate.

We have fallen behind and now face foreclosure proceedings. We are out the $1500 dollars and have lost incredible amounts of sleep stressing about this matter. We have two small children. Both under 4 yrs. of age and are worried we may lose the house our daughter was born in. These people are scam artists!

I was offered to have my house payment redused. It is 3900.00 a month and goes up. They told me they could help I gave them 3400.00 to help. they came back and said they couldn't help me, and won't give me my money back, They told me if they couln't help they would give my money back. But that didn't happen.

I am 8 months behind in my morgage. They told me to not pay until they could help. well now I'm in default and scared to death.

I was engaged to be married. Last year he just left. I came home and everything was gone. I also was no longer getting 900.00 a month because all the bill's were now up to me. I called New Hope and spoke with Scott which by the way is no longer working there. I was told this is a money back program if they were unable to lower my payment. I was up to date on my mortgage untill 8/08. My payment was 1036.00. Scott and Derek said not to make a mortgage payment because I needed to be behind in my payments to qualify. I told Scott I was really leary about this but I needed my payment lowered only by 200.00 monthly. He said New Hope will lower my payments or I would get my 1500.00 I sent them.

They never contacted me or my bank. I had to call and demand that they call them. Isent all my paperwork in and did everything that they asked. Then my loan went to Deb. I had to fax all the info. because they had lost my paperwork. So again I sent everything in. Scott called and said I would not qualify if I didnt change some numbers on my debt sheet. He told me what to write and like a jerk, I did it.Iam now learing this is fraud.Deb e-mailed me and said looking at my paperwork that I should have 1500.00 left after paying my other debt's. I was shocked by this. I again re faxed the paperwork and by this time it is now 12/08. 5 months I waited and heard nothing. I finally got a call from Deb stating my new payment was 1153.00.

I could not believe I put my trust into a company. I no longer trust anyone at any bank. I called and asked for a refund because they not only destroyed my credit, they raised my payments. I am now looking for a part time job to make the payment's. They told everyone who trusted them that they would get their money back if they coulnt help. Now I have to have that money back to make a house payment and Kelly told me they rarely do refunds. I am going to call the BBB and our congress to complain about this company. I may loose my home and if my car needs work on it, I have bad credit now because I made no payment for 5 months and they didnt contact my bank to tell them I was doing a modification. With all the people they have TAKEN money from, they are making a killing of all of us whom were just looking for a little help and trusted a company beccause they train people to get the money first. I did not know any better or I would have never done this.

I have called them and e-mailed them daily for a refund and I hope they get tired of hearing from me so they will refund my money. They are a fraudulent company and tell people what they want to hear only untill they are paid. Isnt thier a law that looks out for the little people who get scammed b people like this? Im sure they are sitting on a nice beach somewhere as we all are struggling to get by.I wish all of you luck in getting your refund. Try calling and e-mailing daily. If everyone does this maybe they will be more understanding. I wish this would happrn to them and see how it feels to be broke. I used to trust everyone because I think people need to be treated as I would like to be treated but now, I trust no one at all.

I got the infomation about New Hope Modifications, LLC on the computer. A S. Strague call me. I sent him a void check, and other papers that he told me to FAX. This company has taken from my checking acct. on 12/12 $500.00 and 01/5 $500.00. I can't get in touch with anyone since I sent them my bank acct. info. I recieve by e-mail another person from this company name A. Anderson. By e-mail I tried to call him but I don't get a answer.

I WAS TRYING TO SAVE MY HOME, THIS COMPANY WAS TO GET MY PAYMENT LOWERED. I 'AM 5 MONTHS BEHIND ON MY HOUSE NOW WITH COUNTRYWIDE. I JUST KNOW I WILL LOSE IT NOW.

I called New Hope Modifiactions to mitigate a hrrendous mortgage payment I had with Eastern Savings Nank. I thought originally They were Hope Now and the didn'dispute it. Thaey asked for $5000 that would be returned to me if they failed. It was hard to reach them by phone and I faxed them alot. They never told me they were in the middle of the move and their company was in was trying to find notes. In any event they said they were connected to many gov't mortgages and they knew how to handle hard money banks. My guess is they had perhaps 3 conversations with Eastern Savings bankfsb and then gave up and said they had worked so hard I was entitled to nothing back.

After telling me she wasn.t scared of any bank and the government programs they could fit me into she claimed she could do nothing with this bank and gave up! I got invoved with them when they were moving from Bryn Mawr. They told me if they failed to reach a modification with Eastern savings bank fsb I would get a total refund. I would only pay if they were successful. You first call a number for the company that sets you up wiyh one of their pofessional mitigators I was charged $5,000 and promised I would get it back if they were unsuccessful.

They took the money and it was anight mare to get calls back. Melissa told me they were in the middle of a big move and would have to find my file. She claims she spoke to eastern to no avail and also my lawyers. My lawyers deny that anyone from New Hope called them. I do think they called eastern but gave up pretty quickly and said there was nothing they could do. At this very hard time of my life they will not refund my money. When I asked for my File, K. Fisher said it was as thick as book and wouldn't copy well. She saib their lawyer would call me. I have hearsd fron no one. I would like my money back. This has evev made me sicker with worry than I was before.

Ryan from new hope said they could help me save my house from foreclouse this was at the end of Oct. I sent them 2200.00 and and called all the time asking what was going on with my loan and I was told not to worry things were being done and it takes a few weeks, On nov. 13 2008 my house was sold and I didnt know until I had papers served to me from the police and had 10 days to move out.

When I called the bank and ask if any one from new hope had contacted them they said no. So I called Ryan and said I wanted my 2200.00 dollars back he said he would check into it it's now dec.26 still no refund and they tell me they mailed me a check I asked how because they don't have my address, then they hang up, tried calling about 10 more times no answer from anyone

Lost my home, and 2200.00

Ryan replies:

Terry only told her part of this sad story. I contacted Terry to help save her home from forclosure. She then wrote me 2 checks that bounced. Once the first payments finally cleared almost a month later, I then had to wait another month and a half to receive her completed file which I needed to hand in to start the mitigation process. This is now a process that has taken close to 2 months to finish up. Most people are able to get everything together in just a few days. The contract she signed clearly stated we would not be held responsible for customer neglegence. Terry lost her house becase Terry didnt pay her mortgage, not because of myself or the company I work for.

Just wanted to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Dan C, the best guy I ever dealt with business wise. Just to let you know my situation was not good and I called your company and from the beginning was helped, I was made to feel like mistakes happen and was not look at or talk down like I was a dead beat. Dan is the right guy for that job he holds, why he is very understanding and he makes sure he updates you about the situation then conversates with you about life, thats what Americans do and Dan is a great American that sounds cheesy but its the truth the guy is real. So Dan you have a friend in Louisiana for life and again thanks for all your help Me, my wife and 1 year old daughter are truly grateful for you fighting to save my home. God Bless you and God Bless America.

I want to thank you so much for working with my mortgage company to make sure I didn't lose my home. This is the best Christmas present I could have asked for, you worked wonders and me and my family appreciate everything you did for us. Once again, thank you and I hope you have a blessed Holiday. You are the best!!!

My neighbour, who is facing foreclosure, contacted New Hope Modifications back in Nov. 2008. They withdrew a whopping $650.00 from her bank account that day!! On the same day, she changed her mind and decided not to go ahead with the New Hope Plan. She has Yet to receive a refund, in any form. It's Really Interesting how these Companies can so Easily and Quickly TAKE money out of innocent people's accounts, but when it comes to REFUNDING...well, they dodge and stall and kinda scratch their heads wondering how to go about doing this!!

No result has happened yet, and it's been over a month that she has been waiting for her refund.

I just wanted to thank you for the great job you did for me and my husband with HomEq. The agreement was much more wonderful than I could ever imagine. You did a spectacular job. God has truly blessed you with the great talents.

Daughter and Son-In-Law contacte this company because they were desperate and did not know any better. Gave them $500 and did nothing. Son-in-law called a few days later this outfit said there was nothing they could do for them. Promised their $500 back, but instead took more money out of thier account without authorization.

With everyone on here complaining, WHY AREN'T YOU ALL FILING COMPLAINTS with your State Attorney General, BBC, and the state that this scam artist is located??????

I am encouraging everyone scamed to file and close this place down or stop complaining.

You don't need these people to do this for you, get off your ass and do it yourself by working with loan company or call a HUD authorized credit specialist. These people are not on the HUD authorized list.

Lost a lot money that could be used to pay up the loan and cause a lot of stress. Also, they will inccur bank fees due to thier account is now way overdrawn from this. Something needs to be do shut this place down now.

This is just a few lines to let you know how my experience was with the New Hope Modifications Program. Usually I am a very skeptical person and I know people have heard this story many times over. I had called several places and did get a good feeling and the charges were astronomical.

I received an email from this company and I said just one more try because I was struggling with an adjustable rate first mortgage and I had tried on my own two times giving them all my financial statements and I was turned down both times by my mortgage company who will remain nameless.

I am not frantic but I am a Christian and I knew I had to pray about this before trying on last time. I emailed New Hope and was contacted immediately and spoke to Tanya Walker, I could not believe that she was so professional, and courteous and knowledgeable above all she seemed very concerned and understood my problem.

I had nver ever been late with any payments on my mortgage, car note or credit cards and all of a sudden my mortgage payments went from $911.00 each month to a whooping $1,785.00 this is for principle, interest and taxes. Now it was impossible to keep everything current and to think in six (6) months the payment would increase again.

As soon as I paid the fee required my account was then turned over to Holly Lewis, again the experience was Overwhelming, she took me by my hands literally and explained what she needed and kept me abreast of everything step by step with phone calls and emails. The entire process was painless and extreamly quicker than I could ever imagine. Holly Lewis, was always courteous, so friendly, professional and extreamly knowledgeable. Thanks to New Hope my mortgage company worked with them and now I can afford and keep my home. I would recommend them to any and everyone who is in trouble with an ARM or having problem paying. Again thank you New Hope. I tried to keep it short but this was such a wonderful experience that I wanted to share every detail.

I was behind 2 months mortgage payments and was contacted by New Hope Modifications on the 10th of October to help me get back on track . Since I had a payment of $1900 that was due on the 19th of Octoberi was told not to make the payment. Everything would be taken care of. As soon as Brett explained everything to me I was excited because I just knew that I was about to get a fresh start. Well on the 12th I had all the paper work faxed to him and $657 withdrawn from my account.

On the 14th of October I spoke with the VA and they informed me that they would be able to help me with the modification and i didn't need to New Hope's assistance. So on the 14th of October I called Brett and informed him that I would no longer be needing his assistance and I wanted a refund. He informed me that he would call the underwriters in New Jersey and have them stop the case.

After that phone call I didn't hear anything from Brett or the company. I called Brett and Customer service several times just to speak with someone about my refund. I figured since i had only been working with them for 4 days not much work was done on my case if any. When i finally spoke to one of the managers it was around the 17th of October he told me that i had 3 days to request a refund and it was already past the deadline. It took me until the 5th of December to get a check of $137.00 in the mail. I still have the check. I didn't want to cash it until I get some kind of advice. I want the rest of my money. My mortgage company wasn't even contacted on the matter. Is there anything I can do to get the rest of my money.

new home modification called my cousin and told him basically the same B.S. I found it a little bizarre that he had to send $1900 and they would not even explained why. I decided to research them on the net and found atleast 100 complaints about them. now he decides not to deal with them anymore. something needs to be done about new home modification because they're out there ripping people off and that's not right.

I was backed up 2 mortgage payments and i was in an ARM loan. I thought all hope was lost then i received a phone call from Mr. Sprague from New Hope Modifications. He told me that they would be able to help me at the time i was very skeptical because i saw some reports that other people had filed but they where the most affordable company that contacted me and i wanted to get this resolved quickly. I was told that for as little as $500 down that they could start the process and the rest had to be paid with in 21 days.

I sent my paperwork to him and my payment 1 week later i received a call from Mitchelle in Mitigations and she informed me that they were working with my lender to modify my loan and she would update me next week to let me know how things were going.

The following week she called me back and told me it was DONE..I could not belive it they got the 2 months i was late added on the back of my loan my intrest was a FIXED 4.3% and my payment went down by $300 dollars a month i was thrilled ........matter of fact i contacted my lender just to confirm and it was true....i just wanted to thank them for helping me save my home and now i can enjoy christmas worry free!!! good job and god bless

I was getting ready to lose my house i had been dealing with the morgagae company and getting no where. then i look for help from new hope. neoshi was helpful on the phone telling me that could help us save are house and that if they can not we would get all of money back. well it took me send them 1913.00 for them to work on my loan and then when they had 3 people that was in charge of my case got fired or released. then i got a call from mr b. told me that he was sorry that i had not been contacted by them and he was on the case and that he would get this done.

final after 3 weeks i got a letter from the morgage company saying that we were denied. now new hope is saying that i do not have a refund coming back to me because they spent a lot of time on my case @$250.00 hr thats 7.62 hours. i do not belive them. also neoshi told me also that i should not make a payment to the morgage company and pay off as much of my debt is possible and put money away.

if i had paid them money then i would still be working on keeping my house. instead i am going tommorrow to watch them sale off my dreams. a wife and 2 small kids and it seems like nobody care about the little people. this company is a rip off and i do not wish that anybody would use them. thank you.

i lost my house 11/26/2008 @ 3pm. i dont feel that they did what they said they would do and what i was told by there Rep is not what was on the paper i signed. now my house and my money are gone. i want to know what i can do to get my money back.

I spoke to Ryan and was told I need to pay1500.00 and that they could break the payments up over time and that would show my mortgage company as he put it a good faith payment that I wanted to get this issue resolved and not lose my home. I then sent him 500.00 dollars as the first payment. I was receiving calls daily from my mortgage company so I sent Ryan emails and was told several times not to worry they were working with my mortgage company.

I then spoke to John in the mitigation dept on Wednesday and was told nothing had been done and that they would not even start working on my case until this was paid in full also that if Ryan had said that if any of the money went to the mortgage company that was a problem.

I then emailed Ryan on Thursday saying I wanted to end the contract and a refund on my money; he refused to send me the paperwork to cancel the contract or even respond after our emails on Thursday. Friday I spoke to John again and told him the same and John faxed me paperwork to do so in which I faxed back with in the hour. I had also left voicemails and also went thru the web and they refused to contact me back. I then called and demanded to talk to a person and was connected to Kelly in which she told me that they in fact been talking to my mortgage company and had done 900.00 dollars worth of work. And that I owed them an additional 400.00.

Ryan replies:

I would like to show the other side of this claim by Rebecca. She is absolutley correct that I said that we could break up her payments into 3 of $500 in order to 'complete the modification'. For the record, I never once and never have, claimed that we were going to use that money to pay her mortgage payment. That doesn't make any sense. About 1 week after she payed the first payment of $500, she had all of her documents over to me and her file was passed over to the mitigation team.

I let her know that it would then take 7-10 business days for that department to contact her and will be in touch. To save her home, her mortgage company wanted a full payment of the total amount she was behind, much more than $1500. Plus, until we are in full mitigation with the her bank, they may continue to call from time to time since the modification is not yet finalized and they want the money they are owed. That's what we put an end to but it does not happen overnight.

She then asked for an update on the second day her file was turned in. I let her know once again that our mitigators will be in touch within the same 7-10 days. Each and everyday she contatced me numerous times wanting an update, thinking we can wrap all of this up in a day or two. I previously let her know it takes around 30-45 days to complete the process. Additionally, I let her know that we cannot complete her case unitl the full amount of $1500 was paid for our services.

After less than a week had passed, she sent me an e-mail claiming that we should have had this done by now and that she wanted her money back. I sent her a reply asking her to call me so we can discuss the situation. She refused. Feel free to post our conversation Rebecca, if you claim that I am lying.

It is a shame that she was so impatient and wouldn't let the experts over here handle everything and fix her mistakes. We did complete a lot of work regarding your file and I really wish that you gave us the opportunity to show you what we could have done for you and your family.
I hope you managed to work everything out and are able to stay in your home for the sake of your family.

Walter from New Hope Loan Modifications,LLC phoned our home and told me he could help us to avoid foreclosure on our house and to not get behind in our mortgage payments. He did not say to stop paying our mortgage payment, but we had to give him a mortgage payment of &1,600 for him and his powerful attorney's to help us get our loan re modified and the interest rate lowered.

A couple weeks went by when a different man emailed my husband and told him he needed a newer pay stub and a copy of our store rental payments. We did as he asked, it took another two weeks for any kind of contact from New Hope. A woman from New Hope kept calling every few days after that to tell us that they were still working on our loan. In between the last call my husband got laid off from work where it was one day before his 25th anniversary.

We are now living on a monthly income of $2,052.00 dollars, and most of it goes towards our mortgage. Another call back and we were asked for his pay stub from unemployment and told it would be a couple of more days to get the modification.

On Nov. 21, 2008 our mortgage company called and said they could not do a loan modification with us at this time, because unemployment payments were not good enough. A permanent job with weekly or bi-weekly steady payments was all they could accept. They needed to close our file and we needed to get back to them when my husband finds another permanent job.

I cannot work because I was injured in an automobile accident in 2007 which required back surgery. It consisted of two new disc's, two titanium rods and six screws along with nerve damage repaired. I have been trying since June of 2007 to get Social Security Disability or some kind of monthly money because of our predicament, but I keep getting turned down. They say I don't have enough points or weeks in to receive and that my husband makes too much money. I have even written my Senator and Representatives to see if they could help me with this situation. I feel they are as good for nothing as the social security system, I have not heard from them in over a week. I emailed them and mailed them letters. No response.

This company was going to help with our morgage and negociate with our lender. The fee was $1200 if they were sucessful but had a minimum of $500.Well they did nothing and took $1200 from our account and now will not retun our calls

we now have to pay an attorney to file bankrupcy to stay out of foreclosure and the $1200 wuld be helpful

I paid these people $2,265 to do a loan modification for me. They told me they would put my past due mortgage payments into my balance, lower my mortgage payment and fix my adjustable rate. I told the sales rep this sounds too good to be true and he reassured me that, Yeah, I know, I hear that all the time but this is how the program works. It is a government program and once we get involved your mortgage company has to do it, they have no choice.

They told me not to make any mortgage payments because while I am in the modification process the mortgage company can not accept payments from me. I repeated what he just said to me and his reply was, Yep, it's really that powerful of a program. So stupid me didnt make payments. So about 2 months later, I was told by New Hope Modifications that I need to come up with 2 of the past due payments (totaling $4,530) and that my payment would go up an additional $470 until the other 2 payments that I was now behind were caught up. Also, the rate stays the same and remains adjustable... WHAT????

I call my sales rep that dodged my calls. After I got no call back for 3 days I got his manager who pretty much told me I was out of luck because they tried. I called the owner, and after 4 days, he finally called me back and pretty much told me I should file bankruptcy. I demanded my money back and his reply was, If you hire a lawyer and they dont get you off, do you ask for the money back? If I would have been in front of this guy I would have choked him.

There are tons of complaints on the BBB website about this company. Im sure plenty more will be coming. I have retained an attorney.

I received an email from Robert, New Hope Modification, LLC, saying that he received a case request from me for assistance to keep my house from foreclosure from my lender.(Let me just say that even though we're struggling I have never filled anything out or requested assistance). Robert called me at home last night, twice. I spoke with him the second time he called. He explained quite expertly how he could get my mortgage loan interest rate down, my payment more affordable and that they had a team of attorneys who mitigate for people like me. Any unpaid mortgage payments that I was behind could be either thrown on the end of the loan or absorbed into the loan.

Robert also talked about how the president just recently signed some bill (can't remember what he called it) to help homeowners who are in trouble or facing foreclosure...he promised a lot of good things and then told me he could take care of everything for ONE month's mortgage payment; which in my case is $1924.00. He said I could pay it all at once or I could pay it over 3 weeks but that I had to act quickly.

It all sounded like I was finally gonna get some relief, until my paralegal wife began studying the documents he emailed and then googling for mortgage foreclosure scams on the internet.

I was 2 seconds away from turning over a full month's mortgage. Thankfully, my wife stopped me. I'm writing you only to make you aware that this company exists and is contacting Indiana residents via email and phone calls. The only thing I'm out at this point is false hope.

i hired them to help me with a loan modification with chase home finance i paid this company 1271 dollars and they assured me that i would get a loan modification after my check cleared they then tell me that chase wont help me till i pay what i am behind and that was after this company told me not to make anymore payments to chase till the loan modification was complete because it will be lower so i did this. I contacted chase and i am now in the final stages of a loan modification i feel this company owes me a refund for they made it worse for me and they money i sent them could of went towards my mortgage payment

i am out 1271 dollars and a month behind more than i was on my mortgage
