Consumer Complaints & Reviews

To put it in a nutshell, I paid them $2200 to get my loan modified. The modification was denied. I waited the required 60-day resolution period to get my 100% guaranteed money refund. I wrote emails and called their phone number to apply for my refund to find that the phone and email addresses have been disconnected.

I was promised my mortgage would be $800-$900 after receiving the $2100, that was the cost for them to handle to lower my mortgage. We did not recieve any assistance in lowering our morgage. The morgage company did not agree to the $800-$900 as promised by NMP.

The $2100 used to pay NMP was my mortgage money and now I am a month behind on my mortgage, and my mortgage has not been lowered. I have tried to contact NMP as I was told to keep them updated. NMP no longer returns my phone calls or e-mails. The co-owner of the house has a heart condition and NMP was told of this and still stress and strains which continues to be a factor with NMP.

I have requested my money back from this company for a loan re-modification that has not materialized. They have stated that, I did not provided them with the correct monthly gross salary total. I have not spoken to any individual since they only correspond via e mail.

Only once when they wanted my $2,200 for my application fee did I actually talk to an individual. I am filing a complaint with your office because I believe this company does not care for the individual homeowner and just takes their money and does not return any phone calls made to them.

I have filed a claimed with my credit card company and that is still pending. I would like to know if other individuals have filed a similar complaint with your office. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I am out of $2,200 that I paid to this company to help me get a loan remodification. I have not heard from them for the past 3 months.

In the month of Jan, 2011; I was going through critical marital problems. At that time I ended up having to leave my home to stay somewhere else in an effort to avoid facing problems of domestic violence. I also did this to get away from the situation and try to regain myself and think straight so that I could make a better decision away from being influenced by the problems with my spouse. The first thing that came to mind was, If in reality we do separate, I don't want my credit to go bad since just a few weeks ago I had had finalized my 10yr. bankruptcy and now I was facing a possible foreclosure if as soon as my spouse would leave the home. We both knew that neither of us could afford to pay the house mortgage payment individually plus all the utility bills etc. So I thought about refinancing or getting a loan modification and try to move back in by myself and try to sell the home ASAP but in the mean time afford to make the mortgage payments.

So I went on the internet and somehow, I ran into NMP (National Modification Preparation) and the agent (Cesar **) offered to help me get a loan modification. The first red flag was that Cesar would call me every day and at least 4-5 times a day as he was trying to get information from me to begin the process. But as some of you may know from experience, when you are dealing with divorce/children/custody etc., many times you just don't want to deal with other things let alone with phone calls from lenders etc. Finally one day I answered Cesar and I decided to go through with everything and just move on. Cesar's first thing to ask for was to fill-out an expense report-sheet and got from me all the information about my current lender (Chase, interest rate, escrow amount etc.) then after that, Cesar called me one day and said that I had been approved but that a different person would be contacting me to further walk me through the process.

That's when Matthew ** got involved. He then told me that he was able to get my current mortgage payment of about $1070.00 down to about $740.00 a month. I couldn't believe what he was telling me that I couldn't even ask the right questions to make sure this wasn't a scam. But I did asked him what he had done to be able to get my payment lowered so much, and he just said something about contacting CHASE and because of my house depreciation that made it possible for him to get me such a deal; so I believed him.

He then stated that he would email me the forms he needed filled-out and signed in order to continue and complete the process. (Red flag #4) But that he needed back within 48 hours along with a payment of $2200.00. At first I thought, Well $2200.00 doesn't really seem that bad when I'm going to be saving over $300.00 monthly but today (Jan. 2nd 2011, 2:37pm central time) and after reading the forms they emailed to me where I found out that they are asking for money before they have even closed a deal for me! I wonder if they have even spoken with Chase about any of this.

So before I got back to NMP; I went online to find reviews and customer complaints about NMP and I couldn't believe how much negative feedback I found about them. Luckily I have not returned the forms and the $2200.00 to them and I won't! I am sitting here right now writing this review and I've already received 2 calls and 1 email from them wanting to hear from me or worse yet; wanting my money! But thanks to those of you who provided me with feedback on companies like this one, I am not going to move forward with them. For those of you who unfortunately felt preyed and lost your money; I will keep you in my prayers and I know that God will listen and find you a way to resolve your financial issues and get back on your feet and continue in life. God bless you and thanks again for the warnings.
