Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I received a payment reduction notification, it looks very governmental. I called and talked to Ezekiel and set up the service and sent lots of paperwork on February 15, 2010. I couldn't pay then so they waited a bit then I got a call saying I needed to pay now so I wouldn't lose this opportunity. So I borrowed $1250 from my dad and they auto-drafted it. Ezekiel also told me my loan was already in Citi's hands, on the desk of so and so!

Now, no Ezekiel, and a new man I can't understand who wants more papers on a 10-year-old loan and told me not to talk to my mortgage company for they would take care of it. He never answers my emails, and just asks for the papers. I've stopped my bank from honoring the payments. They have taken $1250 out to pre-pay and tried to take $1250 more without telling me.

The Mortgage Relief Law Center (MRLC) company cashed my check of $2,795.00 even though they already knew that our application was not qualified from the beginning. Initially, when we decided to apply for a loan modification, we only applied for a hardship program and not a forensic RESPA and TILA violation audit program. We were never late in any of our mortgage payments. We did inform MRLC, so they understood that the chance of qualifying is impossible. But they still gathered our financial documents and cashed out our deposit check.

They knew that we won't be qualified, but never informed us. They made us wait for 6 months without any status result from the mortgage company. Finally, after almost 7 months of hoping, we received a letter from our mortgage company (CitiMortgage) stating that we are not qualified for a loan modification.

We were so worried about losing our home. We contacted MRLC office to ask for the refund. After not responding to our inquiries, they sent an email saying that they will not refund our money as opposed to what's stated in their procedure as 100% money back guarantee.

We really need our money back to help us seek for other alternative ways to save our home. We are writing this in hope that you can give us some tips on how to obtain our hard-earned money back.

I paid $1,200.00 by cashier's checks to Mortgage Relief Law Center to help me with my mortgage foreclosure that was due to happen in the 15th of Dec. 2009. I had to take matters into my own hands. They had the date and did nothing to contact me after receiving my documentation. I called them the day before the stated sale date (even though with my own help, I postponed it) to get them to do something. All I got was someone who went on a conference call to the bank and nothing was accomplished. I was then told to fax more of the same documents that I already had (they lost my file) and to call back the next day after I sent the fax. I did and have not been able to reach anyone. I have asked for a full refund and have not received a call, email, fax or anything from them. I am still battling with the bank and have gone through a terrible time not knowing what to do.
