Gary of Redding, CA August 26, 2009 In February of 2009 my wife and I began the process of a loan modification with our first mortgage holder, Litton Loan Services. This has been one the worst experiences of our lives and has created stress and health problems beyond our wildest dreams. This loan servicer has lost application materials several times, by phone they have stalled, changed their story several times regarding when they received the application and the actual date they received the package. They will not let you talk to anyone in the modification department to get any status on the application and downright lie about forms needed and when forms are received. It has been almost seven (7) months, enough time to approve several modifications. We are trying to save our house and all the cash that was put into it. jennie of columbia, SC August 24, 2009 lttion did a loan modifcation for me but didnt remove my pmi payment of 435.00. my mortgage was 1498.35 since 2007 and that includes a pmi payment of 435.00. i went through NACA which really wasn't any help to get my loan modified and eventually it worked but they still ghet over on you one way or another and the porpose for the modifaacation was to make the home affordable right? well why do you need PMI if the home is affordable? help me please someone how can i get this off? Christine of Ravenna, OH August 24, 2009 We have been fighting this company since december of 08. Our loan was sold to them from Popular Mortgage. They said we was late and was going to start foreclourse on our home. We WAS NOT BEHIND. We sent them more money then the mortgage and they sent it back. Then they said the house was in foreclousre we had no ideal until we received the paper february 14 09. We went to a mediation with a lawyer in april of 09. Then in July of 09 was sent a trial loan modification papers we signed them sent them certified through the post office and 2 days later received a letter from their lawyer in Cinncinnati Ohio that they was going forward with the foreclosuer of our home. They sent back our money again stating the loan modification had not been confirmed. Now we go to court on 8/31/09. This is insane. Please anyone help us.......Stop this company before everyone who has a loan with them are homeless. AJ of Grants Pass, OR August 23, 2009 Well, after reading all the other complaints, I have nothing new. They alway say they lost your paper work, or didn't received it, even when sent certified. For some brain dead reason they actually WANT to foreclose, even when they will lose. They string you along, and make modification promises when they have no intention of ever actually trying to help you out. Our story is like most. We fell behind after my wife had a stroke and the medical bills made it difficult to make timely payments. We asked for a modification a year before Obama ended running things. They sent all the docs, said they would give us a trial mod, we Western Unioned the money to make sure it met their deadlines and they posted our house in the paper and sent our money back. We want to get an attorney, but after reading the numerous other posts, realize it will be a further waste of money. Timika of Detroitq, MI August 22, 2009 I contacted Litton about lowering my payments due to past due taxes being added to my escrow. The person on the phone stated that they would be lower and that I should receive notification in the mail within 30 days. I still to this date have not received any paperwork stating that the payments have been lowered. My second issue is that Litton reported to all the major credit bureaus that I was late making my May and June of 2009 payments. I never was, I contacted the company and received four emails from them stating that I was not late and that they had not reported this to the credit bureau. They even faxed me the email to send to the car loan agency. When the credit bureau contacted them, they stated that May was not late but June was. So May of 09 was there mistake but June was not. I have gone back and forth with Litton and even emailed the CEO Mr. Litton himself and still no one has been able to assist me or tell me why they are giving out conflicting information. I truly believe that they want their customers to have bad credit so that if you ever tried to leave them you could not. This is the worse mortgage company that I have ever been with, their actions go completely against their companies mission statement. If my payments are not lowered I will be forced to go into foreclosure and with the bad mark on my credit I cannot obtain a new vehicle which I explained to them is needed to continue my employment. Litton is a uncaring company and I hope that all of these complaints are taken seriously and something can be done about this company. Jared of Trenton, MI August 20, 2009 I lost my job in Dec 2008 and was behind in my payments-- applied for a loan modification submitted all required documents-- in Feb of 2009 was called and given the terms of the new payment which I could afford and was told not to make any payments until the docs arrived-- never came-- followed up and was told they were behind-- then after continuing to call was told that mod was put on hold for review in a different program-- that was in March-- now we are in foreclosure status and still as of Aug 20 having to send in updated information--just to be told they have not rec'd them or the file is still in review--have asked repeatedly if we can please have the original mod we were told we would have but are told no....isn't there something anyone can do-- was amazed to hear they now do the gov't program as we were told they DO NOT participate in it just as recent as 8/18...PLEASE help us....we have owned our home for almost 10 yrs and have raised our 2 children here and the thought of losing it is devastating..something has to be done.....we now have a sheriff sale date scheduled for Sept and feel like we have no where to go.... Clinton of Dorchester # 2, MA August 19, 2009 I have applied for Loan Modification twice over the past 12 months. Although I have never missed/been late on a payment with them, I am having severe difficulty. Originally, when I first applied for the modification, I was told that I "pre-qualified". I sent in all the requested documents. They told me to call back in 3 weeks. I did so, and they told me that it was under review and it could take 90 days. I waited the 90 days, and received no word. I called again, only to be told that I was not qualified, and that I was notified via mail, which I was not. So, after further financial changes with my family, I applied again. I was told this time that the process happens much quicker, and that based on my debt to income ration, i most definitely would qualify. I called back 3 weeks after I submitted my documents (again), and was told that the "rules changed", and It would be another 3 months after they started the review process. It has now been 2 months. I called back to check the status, and they have yet to begin the review process. After reading all of the other complaints, I have a good understanding that Litton Loan will continue to give me the run around until I have no choice but to walk away from the property, ruin my credit, and then "maybe" they will work with me. Thank you for reading. Lori of Reno, NV August 18, 2009 Knowing our mortgage rate was going to adjust March 2009, my husband and I decided to be proactive and apply for a modification request four months early, (In November 2008) figuring this would be plenty of time for Litton to process our request. (They stated to us that a mod request can take anywhere from 30-90 days) We made calls to them every other week with only the comment, "Your request is being reviewed." Finally in April 2009 we received a letter stating that our request was denied because, basically, they feel we make too much money. One week prior to receiving that letter my husband was laid off. I promptly called Litton to let them know of the chance of income and was told to send in proof of UE benefits, so they could reconsider the request with the new income information. It is now August and again, we have not received a response. Litton states to us each time we call, (weekly now) that they have all the paperwork they need, but they are still reviewing the case. If a determination was already made and the reason for denial was income, and now that income is less than half of what it was before and they have the proof and all the documentation they need, why is there anything to review? Ok, so they have to re-review the paperwork. It takes 4 months to see that the income has decreased? We have struggled to continue to make our payments, as we should, but this is just ridiculous. Eight months and they can't process one modification request? Heather of west boylston, MA August 18, 2009 I have been trying to get a home modification for a yr. Everytime paperwork, emails, & phone calls are made they have no information and can't find our paperwork that was sent by mail, faxed etc. Now for the 3rd time I am getting Foreclosure notices from a Law firm with intent to accelerate. I ahve also called Hope for credit councing and info on other resoures. I have called Litton 2 to ask if they have recieved fax or e-mail from Hope the only answer I get is how do we know? Well if they are suppose to be working with the Govt. & help from Hope & Hud. I'm lost and think my next step needs to seek an attorney for leagl advive on what my next step will be to get my finances back in order & also get a modification on my loan. My husband has had to leave a job were he was making more monney & also a yearly bonus so we could use his 401K so we could catch up. We also had to sell 1 of our vehicles. sara of Lanett, AL August 17, 2009 I lost my job on March 31,2009. I was not behind, or had I ever been behind with my mortage payment. I called Litton Loan about the Goverment Modification, they stated they could help me. Litton sent the proper papers, I called back a couple of times to ask a question. I completed the paper work 6-3-09 and returned with a check for the first payment due in July the so called trial payment . I received papers from Litton to be sure to send the trial payment on time. I paid the July trial payment in June I paid the August trial payment on July 24th. I recieved a letter that I was turned down on the modified payment on 7/28/09 (letter dated) was delivered on 8/6/09. I received a letter on 8/5/09 that I was behind on July and August total 1099.84 if not paid by the end of the month my house would be forclosed on. At this time I find no one that will speak to me about this matter at Litton Loan. What can be done? We trusted these people, they said they would help me. Report Your Experience
