Charo of Chicago, IL February 4, 2009
Charo of Chicago IL (02/04/09) We purchased our house in late 2005. Me and my husband saved up quite a bit of money to put down on our home. The rate was fairly low and we thought our rate was fixed for 30 years. Our loan was purchased by Litton Loan few months ago and we received a letter stating our payments would increase by 800.00 a month. We could not afford this new monthly payment. We tried contacting Litton Loan and they are so rude. We asked for help as we are getting behind on our payments. They would not even take any partial payments.
We started receiving foreclosure letters, we did not know what to do. I was so embarrassed but one day I was talking to my coworker about our situation and she mentioned that she too was in a similar situation but went through a company that helped her with her mortgage. Susan of Lawrence, MA February 4, 2009
Susan of Lawrence MA (02/04/09) Litton bought are loan from Avelo, who bought the loan forom Ameriquest. We had a modification with Ameriquest to put the arrearage at end of loan. Avelo would not honor. Worked very, very hard to keep modification, Avelo ready to agree, Litton took over and from there, everything has gone down hill. Litton took my husband and I to court 12/18/08 and we have an eviction for 02/17/09. I have done everything humanly possible, everything, and no one can help me. My husband is a disabled Vietnam Veteran, I am in the USNR for 21 years, one course shy of receiving my Master's Degree and I work for the government.
I am keeping my home, the fault is a little of my doing, but the biggest part has been with the Mortgage Companies. I have attended foreclosure seminars, spoke with lawyers, court officials, Senator Susan Tucker, Niki Tsongas, Kerry, Kennedy, called Mass Bar Association, Division of Banks. They bail out the fat cats, but the little cats are thrown out!
emmotional distress, stroke, car accident, broken wrist, physical and emotional damage. Edward of Oakland, CA February 2, 2009
Edward of Oakland CA (02/02/09) After our modification was approved and the loan was re-written our home was still auctioned off and sold from under us and our payment was made. Is that legal? We need help to get to the bottom of this. In the mean time we really have no place to go. Is there a lawyer that can help us bring this bank down?
I of Harrison, TN February 2, 2009
I of Harrison TN (02/02/09) Litton raised my payment within a month of assuming my mortgage. When I asked why a female rep at litton told me they added an additional PMI. I told her that was illegal and I will report them to the Attorney General. Then I asked for a supervisor, she hung up on me. I called and again asked for a supervisor, a man got on the line and said there was no additional PMI added (LIE NUMBER 1) the change was due to a change in my escrow account because my taxes or Insurance had gone up. I called my city for my taxes and my insurance company, Neither one has changed. (LIE NUMBER 2)
I added up all info and payments in my escrow to compare to what they said I paid. They were off by over 1000.00, hence the additional PMI they added. That's illegal. I tried to make payment to my old mortgage company when they told me they could not take it, that they (SUNTRUST) Had sold it to Litton, I contacted Litton to pay it and couldn't make a payment for 2 months. Now they have added all kinds of fees and are stating I am behind and are foreclosing on my house Feb 19, 2009. I have turned them into everyone I could for their fraudulent Mortgage practices. Good Luck all.
My house is being foreclosed on Feb 19, 2009, don't get worse than that. Kenneth of Alpharetta, GA January 31, 2009
Kenneth of Alpharetta GA (01/31/09) This happened 5 1/2 years ago and still haunts me today. Litton was my second morgage on my Las Vegas home. They started out fine untill about three months after loan started. I had lost my job and got behind one month. The phone calls from them were endless and after finally getting back current in 6 months time, found they were keeping my payments in a suspense account all along. Once I thought I was current they had fees and charges stacked up that I had to pay to accept that money. I got married and my new wife had lots of bad debt from her previous marriage, I again lost my job and We filed Bankruptcy together.
I was forced to refinance both 1st and second into a new loan. I had 30% equity in house as home values were soaring up at that time in 2004. After finalizing the Bankruptcy and securing that new loan to consolidate all our bills. Litton was paid in full at that time.I had lost over 22K of equity from my original loan amounts on the house with all those added fees. We sold that house a year later and moved to Georgia. Looking at my credit report buying my new home it was stated on Sept 2005 I had Bankrupted my second morgage. In fact they were paid in full in the re-finance after the bankruptcy. I tried to call them and was shuffled from person to person and never could get anyone to get that resolved. Becuase of my low credit score and that entry was forced into 8% loan on a new home in Georgia. Since them I have got my credit score much higher.
I have not had a late payment in 5 years. But to date as of today that entry on my credit report is still there and any attempt to ammend it is back to the runaround phone calls that get you nowhere on. I have tried every means through credit reporting agencies and they always state that Litton needs to approve the ammendment. I refuse to ever call Litton again becuase the aggrevation is just to painfull. I just today called the Federal Trade Commission: Consumer Response Center - FCRA Washington, DC 20580 and placed it in there hands.
I believe Litton wrote my 2nd loan off as bad debt for tax purposes and keep it on my credit report to support that. When is that company going to finally get what it deserves by our goverment agencies that regulate such companies. We can all take pleasure of watching them burn down like all the people they did it too, the list is staggering!
Still to this day my credit score suffers from that entry, I am trying to get out of the high interst rate I am at today and that new loan depends on that entry going away, not to mention that fact that I would get great pleasure in seeing Litton go down for all my anguish.
