Consumer Complaints about Litton

Jennifer of Youngstown, OH February 20, 2009

Jennifer of Youngstown OH (02/20/09)
I applied to modify my loan on 9/25/08. With by Jan 31, 2009, I received the loan modification info. My loan went from 977.00 to a more affordable 651.00. I only had to send in 485.50 for fees, and was not required to pay the 1800.00 i owed for Jan and December. They did not change my loan term. They lowered my rate to a fixed 4.26 percent. I received the fed ex letter and sent the documents back the next day via fed ex they paid for. i sent in 2 paystubs, and told them what i owed others, and that was it. it took 4 months, and i ended up lat twice, but thankfully they helped me. LITTON LOAN saved my home. I am sorry they aren't helping the people on this board.

I finally got a call back from Litton 3 months after submitting my request to modify. They mailed me the package to be filled out and returned in 7 days. Long story short, I called them repeatedly to ask some simple questions before I sign something that may end up costing me my home. To-date, I am still waiting to get a response back. I feel there is a negative side to this package. Yes they are dropping the loan int. from 9% down to about 4.45% but what happens if I miss a payment in the future? I notice a clause that mentions they can basically proceed with foreclosure without any further notice. Such clause concerns me and I wonder by signing if I would be waving my rights.

To ask an attorney i will have to spend minimum 250. and somehow i have a feeling that they'll come back to me with many changes only so they can be retained to handle the closing hence making more money. How do we escape these people. Is there no one that cares to help without wanting to profit form this? I could lose everything as a result of this. I just need someone to look at my modification.

We are all facing similar problems with this company. Can we just get signatures and go for a Class Action Lawsuit as it was done back in 2005?

Laverne of Indianapolis, IN February 19, 2009

Laverne of Indianapolis IN (02/19/09)
My husband is retired and now rec's his SS check on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Our Mortgage is due on the 15th and late on the 25th. So I called Customer Service to find if we can change our due date to the twenty fifth because at times the 3rd Wednesday of the month could be on the 22 or 23 which would give us very little time to get the payment in on time. When I spoke with Customer service and explained to the woman my situation, She said NO, they could not do that and if she did, she could get in trouble and even lose her job.

I don't understand why this mortgage company wouldn't want to help their customers by doing all they could especially with the way the economy is now. If you have any information that may be helpful to me, please let me know. Thank you
