MARCH 2008,I applied for credit with HSBC for the purpose of paying off a credit card with Triple AAA visa, a balance of 4,800. They approved for 2000.00 and sent me a credit card. I was told to call a number given on the credit card to activate my credit. Since I refused their approval of such a small amount, I did not call to activate my credit with HSBC.

On April 24, 2008 I received a letter dated April 18, 2008 informing me that they had applied 1500.00 towards my Triple AAA visa credit card, without my consent. I called and talked to five different people at HSBC but they said they could not help me and will not reverse the charges. I would appreciate any help given, since I never intended for HSBC to apply the amount of 1500.00 towards my triple AAA visa. Thank you very much

it does not matter when you send payment in to hsbc they are going to charge you late fees even if it is 7-10 days in advance they told me that them selves that that is how they steal extra money from you they are going on a percentage that most people will just pay it or not notice it.

even if you do pay off your account they will always want money from you.i have a small loan from them i wanted to pay it off to get rid of them but they where so unreasonable i couldnt belive it they wanted me to forfiete my first 12 payments and not credit my account they say now i owe more a year later than the loan was originally there trying to make it so you can never pay it off

i have had car loans etc. and have never seen this type of crimanal behaviour before with anybody there is enough problems in the world than having to deal with trash like this.

not much damage to me because i know what goes around comes around there greed will eventually eat them up.

I was not late making a payment until I had an identiy theft and job transition. I called HSBC to let they know about both things going on in my life. I asked HSBC could I get on a repayment plan, or a loan modification. My payments wwere too high anyway. My sale price was 172,000 with escrow 2046.00. I had no collections, and no late payments credit was perfect. So why I only could get an ARM at 9.5 rate that adjust every 6 months and can go as high as 11%. Befor I escrow my payments were 1446.00. HSBC told me I was calling too much.

After I made a call to the CEO Brenden McDonagh A complaint mgr. called me bavk named Stasia at 813-571-8998 and lied to me saying that HSBC DID OFFER ME A PAYMENT PLAN AND I TURN IT DOWN. I asked Stasia to reinstate my loan so I can start paying on my mortgage, and she told me no. HSBC has been giving me the run around every since I called them with my money promblems up till I got a job to start paying them. It was back and fitrh to call HSBC attorneys and back to the loss litigation department. Attorneys never answer calls, untill after the foreclosed date. Attorneys say I should be talking to HSBC not them becase HSBC hired them only for forclosure not for reinstatement befor or after foreclosure. I mention that HSBC told me I had to call their attoneys and work someting out.

Since HSBC mention I had to call their attorneys and work someting out only with the lawyers and not HSBC when the hold time I should have been talking to someone at HSBC IT WASTED TIME AND HSBC had cost me to lose my home to foreclosure and foreclosure is now on my credit because of HSBC sad, and sorry communication skills. My 5 yr old son and I do not have any place to go we are still living here. Please help

We have 2 loans with HSBC & 1x Mortgage. They have hit our credit report = checked it without our permission more often than we can count(5 times to give rough idea)since 10/07. Affecting our credit rating in a very negative way. When questioned they said this is done on a regular basis to check customer's credit scores. Yet, no one would take responsibilty when asked who authorized this to be done.

One girl who has now left, approved a small line of credit for my husband in which the balance has increased without warning for the amount of actual missed payments. Instead of the interest being added on - as is supposed to happen, they tacked on the extra . When questioned, we were advised that this loan should not have even approved in the 1st place, and they will look into - that was 1 month ago now, and head office is calling non-stop!

I am currently of Long Term Dis. from work, and we have moved our payments to the end of each month. The office told us 5 times that yes, it has been looked after. Still, to this day, hasn't been done. We put stop payments on all 3 loans for mid-month and take physical cheques into the office. Yet... they keep hitting our account every mid-month, causing NSF charges. Today I rec'd 5 calls from HSBC's head office to speak to my husband, harassing me nastily, yet saying that I didn't have authorization to find out what it was about!

The good credit we had slowly made an effort to build back up, has now been ruined by HSBC, checking our credit WITHOUT our approval is something no company should be able to get away with. The situation with them having ruined our credit, has now affected us with all companies we deal with. No one will touch us to be able to move these loans anywhere but HSBC! The stress of this situation is taking it's toll!

One month, I sent my full payment, ten working days before due date, and was still charged a late fee of 30. The next month, I sent the full payment in seventeen working days before due date and was, again, charged a late fee. It seems as if the payment processing center deliberately holds the payment for the day right after the due date in order to be able to charge a late fee.

I am on a very limited budget, and the 60 total late fees has caused my having to do without enough food for those months. I have lost confidence in HSBC Credit Card Services.

I came to this webpage hoping to find answers. What I found was stories written by other individuals about HSBC Mortgage that are a carbon copy of my own! I have been harassed by telephone (are never ending!), my funds have been misapplied by being put in unapplied funds, I have been threatened with foreclosure, and the accounting practices are nothing short of stealing my hard earned money! HSBC has made millions off the common consumer who just wants a roof over his/her head and the satisfaction of home ownership. Is there NOTHING that can be done to bring this mega-mortgage monster to its knees?

This is an ongoing battle I have waged for over two years since my husband had a kidney transplant and has been unable to work due to additional and resultant medical issues. I feel like I spend half my day, every day, trying to explain to HSBC that they have made an accounting error that has made it look as though I have not made a mortgage payment.

Mark of Prescott, AZ March 3, 2008

I had 1200 charged to my Bowflex account, without notice; I had it resolved (through Bowflex) and removed. The inflated monthly payment shown on this bill, of course, was not made, but the regular payment was, which Bowflex said was ok, (and apologized for mix-up).

HSBC, who manages the credit account, put a hit on my credit reports and refuses to remove them. They say it's a Bowflex problem; Bowflex says they would never do this over their mistake and apologized for HSBC. The hit clearly states HSBC origin, and now I get put on hold forever after giving my account info when trying to get a resolution. I've canceled my Bowflex acct because of HSBC.

There is a company that calls me on a daily basis literally 8 times a day. They do not leave a message and continue to disrupt and disturb my life by calling over and over again. They are my credit card company: HSBC Card Services. Apparently, they must be soliciting some kind of sales because they never leave a message, and my account is completely 100% current.

I cannot function on a daily basis because this company keeps repeatedly calling my phone. Today March 2nd, they called at 9:22am,10:29am,11:53am,12:57pm, 2:45pm,3:26pm, 4:00pm, and finally 7:01pm. They also called March 1st at 9:40am,10:57am,12:36pm,2:05pm, 2:53pm, 3:39pm, 6:30pm, and finally 7:43pm. This is harassment; I have written them, and they do not stop. What do I do? HELP ME!

Thomas of Fort Dodge, IA February 23, 2008

Two times in the last year I have been charged 119.99 to my card for stuff I have never signed up for, but these charges are being charged to my card. For some reason I am always then over my credit limit and then being charged an over limit fee. I want to know how these people are getting my credit card number, and I want it to stop.

I have now been charged a total of 100.50 for over limit fees for purchases I did not even make. I only have a credit limit of 300. I usually send 30 or 60 each month, and last month I sent 100.

Luis of Woodbridge, VA February 23, 2008

These people are bad news. I was 30 days late on my account so I decided to make two monthly payments to cover for the late payment. I sent the money. To my surprise, when I checked the account on-line, it seemed I only had paid for one month's payment because part of the payment went to interest which I agree; but the biggest portion of my payment went to other charges, so I ended paying just one month's payment. When I asked the person in customer service about those other charges, she did not know what to say. This will be the only time in my life that I will deal with these thieves. They steal your money without you even knowing it.

I feel robbed. I had to sacrifice so many other things so I could collect the money and pay these crooks. I agree that you should pay some penalty for being late, but this is ridiculous. We have to have some laws to prevent these things from happening to the customers. I will make my mission in life to prevent others from doing business with these HSBC thieves. I'll talk to my friends and anybody I know about these repugnant people.
